Came here for bottomless brunch with a group of friends and the whole experience was excellent - always had drinks and food was great. Service was efficient and everyone had a great time.

Absolutely fab time at the cross keys inn on Saturday! Perfect bottomless brunch with delicious food and drinks . All the staff at the cross keys were super attentive and made the day even better . Will definitely return to the cross keys !

Great place for drinks and music, been here a few times now the local for us. Would definitely recommend for day drinking and a night out.

Stay on the M4 and eat at the service station when you get fuel, it’s better than this place for dinner . Noisy pub with TVs on every table. No table service, compete with the lads at the bar to get the barstaffs attention. Remember your table number. Our meals were terrible, the wait was long, the noise was overwhelming and the price was ridiculous. Do yourself a favour and choose somewhere else. Ideal for a loud party of young sports fans but not recommended for anyone else.

Our first time for a long time visiting this pub , I think it is mainly to cater for the younger generation ( loud music ,tv's every where and a menu of burgers ,pizzas and wraps ) not my usual food .We ordered Peri chicken £13.50 and a bbq chicken £14.50 , although I tried to order a Fish and chips ,but unavailable . There were no options to change from skin on fries to jacket potato or mash ,new potatoes.We did not wait too long for the food to arrive which was ok ,nothing out standing .There is no sweet menu that we saw .

Had a night out with my other half the food was good with plenty of choice and the service was good and nothing was too much trouble. will be back again soon

Came to this specific place for an early Father’s Day celebration. Couldn’t have had a better experience. Both bartenders Amy & Emily were incredible. We had booked a bottomless brunch session and they could not have been more attentive and friendly. Food came out in exceptionally quick time and couldn’t have tasted better. Both Amy & Emily regularly checked if we needed top ups for our drinks and provided us with that homely welcome. Overall incredible staff, impeccable food and for a very reasonable price.

Food was phenomenal! Great service too, can't fault it. I had the bbq burger and fries and my mate had a hot dog both looked amazing and tasted even better!!

My family and i visited The Cross Keys for something to eat. The food was fantastic absoultley no complaints at all and the customer service was even better. I would definitely recomomend going.

We visited The Cross Keys as a family for food a few weeks ago and we were not disappointed! My husband is disabled and the staff couldn't do enough to help us. Amy came over several times to make sure we were comfortable and that we had everything we needed. The food was lovely and the staff were fantastic, so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Went here to celebrate a birthday and wedding anniversary. Service was 5* and staff we really friendly especially Amy and Emily. Covid safe and following procedures properly. Could not fault so thank you 😊

Came for drinks with my best friends last night, and we were mostly served by someone called Dan and he was so fab!!! He made us laugh and checked on us all the time and he was all round amazing and made us feel really valued and happy!! Such a nice guy and really added to the night :) the song he sang about nachos as he brought us our snacks was stuck in our heads all night 10/10 service x

Popped in for a quick drink on Saturday 3rd October with my son who lives local. We was greeted by a friendly member of staff and was soon signed in a showed to our table. A lady then took our drinks order. The pub looked clean and all staff were very pleasant.

Great food ,great staff and the safer measures in place were outstanding ,felt comfortable ,at ease ,not rushed at all ,will definitely be going back ,I have been here before lockdown and always liked it but I was very impressed today

We were doing some shopping and decided to get some Lunch. They do pretty standard pub grub. They do lunch time specials which are reasonably priced and a good selection. We did not have the specials. I had Fish and Chips and my husband had chicken pie. The fish and chips were a good portion but the tablespoon of peas was a joke. Beef gravy with a chicken pie was a bit strange. The meals were hot and served in good time. the staff were friendly. The decor of the pub is good . It has been done up in recent years. It is on Bassett High so parking is on the street and can be limited. There is a car park in Bassett a little walk away.

Stopped here for lunch (having had a large group roast in November which was a bit hit and miss but put that down it being remembrance Sunday and packed out) on a Monday lunch time as the menu looked good. You need to check times though as family have tried before and they weren't serving food, so serving times are subject to change.Staff were very friendly and the food arrived quickly. It was all very nice, between the four of us we had Ham & Eggs, Thai burger, hotdog and two starters. It was all very good value with decent portion sizes and the drinks are reasonable too.We will come back at some point to try the evening menu and would recommend this pub.

I visited here whilst in the area,ordered the chicken burger ok but dry and stringy. The local pint was ok to.

Stopped here for a coffee on route to Swindon to meet an old army buddy, on arrival we got a very warm welcome and got served straight away, the staff could not do enough for us, wife wanted a hot chocolate they said they had run out but they put themselves out to get my wife a hot chocolate, now that is good customer service.Pub is wheel chair accessible and the drinks and food are reasonably priced and does NHS discounts, I have to say this is a great place for a coffee break if you happening to be travelling through wootton Bassett

My family and I went for Christmas Dinner food was good atmosphere was very good staff were very helpful and accomadating especially as a member of our group has a lot of food allergies we sat in a side room on our own which was like be in someone's home but without the worry of cooking or washing up. Lovely family get together

Went to the cross keys in Royal Wootton Bassett today and tried their breakfast. it’s was amazing service was fantastic, very friendly staff and very good quality too and every Saturday they are offering 20% off breakfast too so it only cost me £7 today.

This is a lovely friendly pub to visit.My wife and I go there once nearly every week to have lunch.My favourite room is the little one at the front where I can ride my wheelchair/scooter straight to the table. The staff are very very friendly and helpful.We usually have the small fish and chips lunch a pint of Amstel for and a glass of Pinot for her.The price is very fair.

I live in Australia and visiting my daughter and “kids” went to the Cross Keys Inn for lunch, could not fault the food or service, staff especially Ross were excellent will be back before the long flight home.10/10

As part of a not for profit fostering agency, occasionally us carers get together for a social chat and a bite to eat.

Been to this pub a few times now, always get excellent food across the menu and have always found the staff to be friendly and welcoming, even on a busy weekend.

Called in last Monday with my wife,and ordered chicken wings as starters and steak and a burger as mains. After around 15 mins the wings arrived in half pint-pots.The first bite I had was OK but the next bite I bit into ice (it was still frozen in the middle) and the middle of my wife's was stone cold.I handed them back over the bar and was told that they would replace them.Another 20 mins later fresh ones arrived which were hot ,but obviously we didn't have much of an appetite. The barmaid did apologize, and at least the mains were OK.WONT BE RETURNING

Have been a few times with friends for lunch, dinner and drinks...last time was with a girlie group for a catch up over dinner. The menu is good, however there are fewer choices than previously available, but still a top notch burger, and have had a decent Sunday roast in there too! The staff were excellent as usual, even moved us to a quiet little room at the front so we could continue chattering while the karaoke was going on. Really comfortable place to spend time, good choice of drinks, friendly staff and nice atmosphere!

We popped in here on Saturday for lunch. The restaurant was very busy with lots of families, but we were seated promptly. I cannot fault the customer service of the young man who took our orders he could not have been more friendly or courteous. There were 4 adults and one child in our party ..and the food was a real mixed bag which was disappointing. Highly recommend the Pie & Mash (with fresh tender stem brocolli) & Thai burger - these were really good. However, the fish and chips and broiled chicken were a complete disaster....the fish was incredibly greasy and the chicken so stringy it was inedible. Furthermore our daughter had the scampi with beans ...not keen on the scampi we asked her to eat her beans and at the first mouthful re-coiled...having tasted them it was almost as though they had been smothered in vinegar ..we told our server and he said it would be passed onto the kitchen. Not entirely sure how baked beans can taste of vinegar ....

A trip to Royal Wootton Bassett is always good, but lunch at the Cross Keys made this visit special. We both chose Prawn and Avocado Salad, along with a pint of beer. The food was very tasty and the servings generous. The helpful, friendly young lady who served us made the whole experience extra enjoyable. The fact that the beer was on special offer at two pints for £5 was the icing on the cake!

We have popped in here on a couple of occasions when visiting the local area. Always friendly and nice staff. On this occasion we decided to have a meal as they do food all day. My partner chose the steak and I had the burger.

We were travelling through and stopped off here for lunch. The pub looked very old from the outside, but, had a light and moddern interior. The lunch menu was very small, however, adiquate, we had the ham, egg and chips. when the meal came it was served on a tin plate! food was hot and well presented though. The staff were very cheeful and the service was good, the pub was clean with clean toilets and a large outside area, partly covered. A good place for lunch

We popped in to here for a light lunch and as strangers to the area were pleasantly surprised by the service and food. I had the prawn and avocado salad, it was well presented and they certainly didn’t stint on the ingredients. My husband had the coronation chicken sandwich. It was served with lovely fresh crusty bread, salad and chips. Again we’ll presented and very tasty. The 2 meals with a pint of beer and a soft drink represented good value at £17. The staff were pleasant and friendly.

Although our meal at the Cross Keys was not awful; it fell short in many ways. Not often do I give a negative feedback. I/We are not fussy. Not sure what the place is trying to be but if you can't do fish and chips to please me, something is fundamentally wrong.

Dropped in after a 5 hour drive home. Good food, served promptly and with a friendly attitude. Great value and quality. No need to Sam more. Well done guys.

Awful pizza today. Three slices literally had NO topping! It wouldn't be as bad except that was the only ideal vegetarian option (hallumii is not the only vegetarian food to offer) and our bill came to £38............. I used to enjoy eating here but sorry will not be returning.

they have a new menu, very tasty , great value for money and on a sunny day the beer garden at the back is a great place to eat. Been twice during our weeks stay in wootton Bassett . Thoroughly recommend it especially the homemade pie

I have been to the Cross Keys multiple times. Last time i was with my friends and we had an amazing time . The pub is very Family friendly , whereas The Crown inn doesn't even allow children in the place. The staff are very attentive and friendly. And I would highly recomend the pizzas and burgers . Definitely the best in Bassett . And the price of drinks and food is very reasonable with how much of a good time we had .

Very reasonable prices. Had a brilliant meal with really good quality sirlion steak and fish and chips and scampi.

This is a lovely old bar modernised with lot's of thought. The centre courtyard can be a bit noisy at times, but overall it is a pleasant stopping place in RWB.

As a bit of a regular I popped in on my birthday (6 Mar) to partake in a few of my favourite pint only to be told 'these are on the house', which I was extremely grateful for. Later in the afternoon I was presented with a birthday card from the staff which I was not expecting and which made my day. It did not stop there. As I like the occasional Morgan's spiced rum and coke I was given a half bottle and told that was for me. I was totally taken aback and very humbled. All of this made my day. I would like to thank Hayley and staff for their generosity and kindness. The staff are great and you can be guaranteed of a friendly welcome and good natured banter. Thank you all once again.

Having been snowed in as many others my wife and i decided to walk to the High street and give the Cross keys a try, we booked in advance and we were offered a nice table in the snug and in the Window. The service was excellent on a busy day and the food offerings of a good standard, we chose to share a number of small plates and all were hot, seasoned and pleasant, the chorizo went down very well. We followed up with a couple of mains and again the standard was good. Not the cheapest place to eat in Bassett but well worth a visit, give it a go.

Ordered two lunches one cheeseburger and one fish and chips, portions were tiny ! Not only small but boring and tasteless fish was not big or even much fish. Burger was average. Nothing to write home about. Won’t be going back sorry

Having just moved here , this was my first visit to the Cross Keys. Very warm welcome from the bar staff and advised we could sit anywhere for something to eat. There was a good selection on the menu for lunch . Both our meals were served hot and freshly cooked , very impressed. Nice atmosphere and very friendly service from two young bar staff. Will be back !

We've had several meals here & every time the food has been tasty, cooked well & very reasonably priced. The staff are lovely & very friendly - the pub also welcomes dogs but at no point have we ever been pestered by any dogs when eating.

We had lunch here on the 28th Dec. Decided a detour off the M4 for lunch rather than stop at a motorway service station. The food was very good and great value. Most of us had the fish finger sandwich. The description does not do it justice. It was more a fresh fillet of battered fish in a Brioche bap with trimmings. For under a fiver it was great value. We also had tea/coffee and pudding. We were served by a very helpful waiter who was very attentive and patient. Compared to stopping on the M4 at an overcrowded, overpriced and under par food service station this is so worth the few miles detour.

Really disappointing Buffett not what we ordered at all and most of it left Instead of the Christmas menu were had sandwiches pork pies a few crisps chicken wings and not a lot else. Spoke to the lady in charge who basically said our guests said it was nice so tuff oh and before that they had over charged which was after a lot of hassle refunded.

As a group with gathered for lunch, the restaurant gave us all the Christmas touches, even though we were not having Christmas Faye. We all had different meals,the tapas were very popular. The best was it all arrived at same time hot and hot plates! In recent times the Cross keys has been completely renovated the diary theme and colours very understated impressive. It’s position on High street is good for local shopping too.

Wandered in, offered a table for five, grabbed menus, got drinks at the bar, order taken, food arrived. Is it going to win a Michelin star? No. Is it good food, well presented, and good value? Yes. Were the staff attentive, polite and helpful? Yes. Would we hesitate going back for a beer and lunch? No. Spot on.

Prompt service by our waiter George ensured that we were well fed and on time for our meeting. The fish & chips, served with a lovely tartare sauce arrived really quickly after placing the order..it was well cooked and beautifully served. The Halloumi salad was also very well received, it was tasty and most attractive. No room for a dessert sadly, maybe next time.

The toilets are not clean here, they really smell, so much so the smell comes out in to the restaurant. The tables are sticky and the drinks are expensive.

Enjoyed a nice Peri Peri Chicken here on a Tuesday Lunchtime. A large function happening at the same time meant nearly a 40 minute wait on food - would have been handy if the staff let me know that beforehand, but they were very apologetic when it did arrive. Two hours free parking on the street outside is a bonus.

I have visited The Cross Keys on several occasions recently - as part of a private group and also as a Chamber of Commerce member. I have to say that it has to be my favourite pub in Bassett once again, now that Hayley & her team have taken over (it used to be my favourite drinking establishment some twenty odd years ago!).

We've eaten at the Cross Keys a number of times this year and simply cannot fault it. The food is delicious (can recommend the burgers, YUM!!), the staff are very lovely and the pub is very clean and tidy. We've organised family gatherings there also and we've all had a great time. Would absolutely recommend a visit xx

We held a meeting here tonight of local business people and Manager Hayley was warm and welcoming providing fabulous and generous amounts of canapés and homemade pizza. Sorbet was served in glasses topped with Prosecco and the presentation of food was delightful! The pizza was really tasty. Aubergine/veg one highly recommended. The pub landlady shows keenness of spirit to get involved with the community and really wants to get it right. This evidently comes across in the way she communicates with people.

Excellent venue very good service Harriet attended to all our needs. Brilliant food and drinks and Hayley the General Manager ensured all our requirements to run the event were met including DVD presentation facilities. Thank you to all the staff and the chefs who made the delicious food and cake. We will be back for other Chamber events and as individual customers. The Cross Keys is the oldest Inn in our Town recently refurbished to a high standard and well worth a visit for anyone looking for good food and service in a lovely environment. We had walked up to the high street for brunch but both cafés we visited were full. We approached The Cross Keys to see if they offered a breakfast menu. We couldn't see one but asked a male member of staff if they did a late breakfast. They didn't have a menu but he offered us a fry up which we all went for. Cups of tea and coffee were served promptly and the cooked breakfast arrived a bit later. It was surprisingly good, particularly the sausages and we were all full and happy. The service was excellent.

This is a lovely pub with a nice ambience. Lots of different areas to sit and a really nice garden area.

Ive been in here countless times but it gets better superb relaxing atmoshere ....food looks amazing a the delightful young lady serving was happy smiling glad to be here and even singing bless her ...and at four in the afternoon...very freindly place to be check it out asap !
