Popped in with a friend and pleasantly surprised. Nice welcome and chat at the bar. Lovely and warm with fire. Saw the cobs at the end of the bar but had already eaten. Despite being 9pm on a Tuesday evening it was quite busy. This was a lovely little pub which I’d love to have as my local.

As first time visitors we were impressed with the choice of ales, the bar had so much to offer that I needed extra time to make my selection! There is a tempting choice of cobs, pies and scotch eggs with the usual packets of pub snacks, but this is not a restaurant. Smokers are well catered for with a covered area outside, dogs are welcome here too. It was early doors when we popped in for drinks and it was well supported by locals. I loved the atmosphere which is not available in most themed pubs today. I wish this was my local, however we don't live that far away so we will return.

Very friendly. Had excellent cobs and beer. Wife had hot chocolate which she thought was lovely. Will visit again soon. Cannot think of any way this place could be improved.

Have visited several times over recent weeks. There is always a welcome reception from the staff here. It's a friendly pub with a good selection of ales. There tends to be a stout or porter available, alongside a good mix of pales, ambers and a bitter. Well recommend.

Really nice to find a proper pub that is not a gastro pub. The landlord was friendly and took the time to chat. Beer was a good price too. It is not a restaurant but offers snacks.

This is what pubs are all about. Excellent beer, excellent atmosphere, a wonderful smoking veranda- with heating! This is a proper, old fashioned, drinking pub; no restaurant theme here, just good ale, crisps, cobs and soup, the soup, by the way is soup-erb (sorry.) Feeble puns aside but the soup here really is something special. Thick, filling, and served with generous slices of farmhouse loaf and butter. Utterly gorgeous. It's no surprise that when the Crown in Alvechurch closed for refurbishment that most of it's drinkers chose to drink here, rather than 'The Weighbridge.' A bit off the beaten track but 'The Cross' really is a hidden gem, a fantastic pub, couldn't recommend it highly enough.

I have been going to The Cross for about 18 years, (even had my wedding reception there 15 years ago), and since the refurbishment and new ownership, I only have good things to say about the place. Yes it can be very busy, but that is a sign of success for the effort that the team has put in to make it what it is today. The staff are great, and generally know what each of the regular customers want and they also go that extra mile when there are national events on, like the Six Nations Rugby. The pub is both dog and child friendly. In all, a lovely little village pub. Thank you to the team.

Used this pub many years ago so glad its had an update and is still a going concern. How ever having visited on a Thursday evening we found it to be very busy which is great ,but one thing that put us off was the amount of people stood blocking the bar thus stopping people getting a drink. This is a particular dislike of ours and to be honest most of them were quite ignorant and thought they owned the place. Bit of advice for the gaffer ,clear the bar so people can spend money. We gave up and left the "locals" to it as we could not be bothered! Shame really but you wont be getting more money from us.

Called in here with family for a drink on a Saturday afternoon - was popular even at that time but plenty of room so easily got a table. Very good selection of hand pulled beers all very reasonably priced (makes a change, thank you). Nice environment with not too much background noise so making conversation easy. Can't rate the food was we did not eat there but from what we experienced, a very good pub!

Basically everything you want from a pub. Comfortable and friendly, with a good selection of top quality beers. I also like that it is dog-friendly, yet is still always very clean and tidy. And I enjoy the simple cobs, rolls and pork pies. Full disclosure: I felt I had to write this review after I accidentally gave a like to the one-star review and couldn’t find a way to undo it. So, take another well-earned five-star review in recompense!

Walked to the cross in Finstall this afternoon for birthday drinks . The staff were friendly and there was a good selection of ales. The cons that people were eating looked very nice. We sat out side as it was very sunny. They have a covered smoking area too. I think a few more parasols when it’s sunny like today wouldn’t go a miss. All in all a very pleasant place . Will definitely go back and would recommend to friends.

The Cross has had a good refurbish and is now majoring on nine real ales or ciders. Several pumps dedicated to their brewery owner's offerings. Four or five pumps with a big variety of guest beers, changed quite often. All kept and served well - top marks. Tastes offered if you are uncertain and they also sell the three times 1/3rd different pints for a more considered sampling.Food is cheese cob, ham cob, pork pie or Scotch egg. Salad and pickles to add for yourself. Just right to go with a good pint.Be very careful when leaving; the car park exit is just blind round a corner which is taken too fast by some.

A lovely quiet relaxed visit, the full to the seams evening greeted me on my last visit hadn’t yet started today. Though there were more people drinking outside the pub in the beer garden than inside the pub itself.

Visit to the newly refurbished Cross Inn is worth it, with a great choice of beers and a choice of cobs for sale sadly no home made pork pies on today’s visit. The Landlord is warm friendly and very welcoming ,drop in and say hello you will not be disappointed,it’s worth it just to see the historic photos on display of the area in begone times.

Very nice country pub which has been refurbished and is now under new management. The new team are very friendly and welcoming. The landlord can’t do enough for his customers, everything you ask for is ‘No Problem’. Great customer service. There's a nice log fire and a great selection of real ales at reasonable prices. The only down side is they only serve cold food, but it’s a good selection that goes particularly well with the tradition ales that are on sale. They take party bookings and will put on a buffet to suit the number of guests. I went with my family on Sunday afternoon and everybody enjoyed themselves. The food, drinks, service and atmosphere was great.

Nice to find an English Pub that serves very good ales and has a great atmosphere. Visiting the area to see family and the wife's brother knows his pubs and where the best selection of ales can be tried. Friendly landlord who explained about the refurb and hopes for the future of the pub...look forward to spending more time at The Cross Inn next visit to the UK...

It's great to see The Cross back in action, and the new owners have done a brilliant job with the refurb – it looks totally transformed, but without losing the traditional character and cosiness. And the beer offering is excellent; 9 handles to choose from including Black Country Ales, Hobson's and Oakham, plus real cider. Prices are very reasonable, with the cheapest pint at £3.05. There's also a big selection of high-strength bottled Belgian beers. Thankfully it has not been turned into a foodie pub – but there are snacks such as Scotch eggs and pork pies. The outside area has been done up as well, and is a lovely spot to sit in the sunshine.

I liked the interior and they have a decent range of ales and ciders. As the place got busier the service deteriorated. The woman serving was making no effort to observe which customer was next. She did ask, “Who’s next”. I gave her my order and she went and served someone else. “There you go Brett” she said - Maybe she feels it's important to keep the local CAMRA worthies happy. Then she went to the other end of the bar to serve someone who had come up after me. The landlord was behind the bar but to busy playing with his laptop to turn around and serve the growing crowd of customers waiting - I gave up and left.

I realise it’s a brewery pub but when you order a Sauvignon blanc and the barman thinks you are talking Swahili it’s not a good sign. Explaining dry white he tried to pour it into a champagne flute! No he wasn’t 18 and nervous but ruddy and 64! I’d hoped the pub would attract a new class of person but no. Cheap beer, heated smokers hut and pork pies only attract one person. Won’t go again.

I took my mother and kids there for a birthday recently. Having eaten there a number of times, I was not disappointed again. The food is tremendous - a hidden gem. Lovely atmosphere and lovely friendly staff. Good beer, darts, pool and sports you can watch on one of about 8 TV’s and screens. Can’t rate the place highly enough.

I've been into this cafe today to support local businesses and l've never felt so sorry for the young girl (she was short with glasses no older than 20) working alone. There was an older women who walked past the counter a number of times and not once helping likewise the older women should be ashamed of how she's spoken to the girl and so passive aggressive towards her. Hats off to the young girl who kept going! Enjoyed a great coffee while I watched but won't be returning.

Ordered through Uber eats, spent £16 on order. Staff told our driver that our order had been cancelled when it hadn’t. Order was listed as delivered so can’t get a refund. Fault of the Uber driver. But also Costa staff for telling him our order was cancelled. Idiots.
