Food was terrible: hash browns burnt, bacon slightly undercooked and bread was going stale. Service is 1 star as they said there was takeaway the day before, and then they went back on it when we came. Atmosphere was good, except something started burning and it ruined the atmosphere.

The food is overpriced for what it is. I get you're a captive audience in these places but honestly I was so disappointed. The vegan/veggie options are very poor, especially for children. Cmon guys it's 2024, there's more options than cauliflower! The food is bland and uninspiring. £5 for a small side of chips was all one of my kids could eat because tomato pasta is again a boring and bland veggie option. £15.50 for bean chilli nachos - the cheese sauce was that awful stuff you get at a cinema, the salsa was out of a tub, the guacamole was out of a tub and the bean chilli was microwaved to within an inch of its life and bland. £17 for chicken and chips, again bland and disappointing. We were starving and didn't want to have to drag the children around looking for something else at this point but honestly, I wouldn't go here again and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Staff were lovely though!

Some of the reviews on here just baffle me. Most from people who'll readily stand in a queue for the Smiler for 2 hours+, but want instant service from the on-site eateries serving the same heavy crowds. We stayed at the Enchanted Village for 3 days and nights. We had breakfast here twice and one evening meal. We booked ahead for each visit - an absolute NECESSITY if you expect a table. The manageress, nikki, helped us with our daughter's friend - who has an allergy - and was very professional. Indeed, all of the staff were all doing their jobs well - no rudeness (as stated by others) whatsoever. The food was, yes - expensive, but this is Alton Towers, not Crapsville. rmRent isn't cheap. But all our meals were top notch, and generous portions. The breakfast was buffet help-yourself style. I didn't try the ready-mix scrambled eggs but proper eggs WERE available. The sausages were 'excellent' as reported by the wife (a successful acid test for sure). The other items were also very good. Nobody rushed us off our table, as reported by others. Yes, it was noisy, but this is Alton Towers! To be totally honest, the only gripe I can report about this restaurant is the incessant piped lift music. Awful! Otherwise, well done.

First time visiting, this was the easiest restaurant to book for as we stayed in the lodges, no point in travelling to other hotels we thought. We VERY tight, trying to squeeze through all the tables to get to the breakfast, to squeeze back through with breakfast to the table, trying to do that over and over when you have children is hard going. We was seated at the furthest away point, which in a way I'm grateful for, no one squeezing round us, but too much hard work. Food, not as much choice as other merlin attraction hotels, nothing special, just basic. Toaster wasnt great, 1st time it warms the bread, 2nd time it burns it. All the plates were dripping wet, had to get napkins to dry our plates before hand.

It was very busy when we stayed for the weekend. Advised to prebook any meal you plan to have at The Crooked Spoon. Nice atmosphere of families enjoying time together. However, it did feel the venue was too small for the number of guests in the resort. We booked breakfast each morning, and the food was good. A range of cereals, cooked breakfasts, and pastries all with unlimited coffee, tea, and juices.

Although reading the reviews of thw other restaurants and this scoring the highest, I honestly have no idea why! The restaurant it self has minimal atmosphere where you are literally plonked at a table and told to order via a QRP code. The menu was really basic and exceptionally overpriced. Ordering hot wings, nachos and a kiddies chicken pasta and chicken goujons ... all meals were bland and literally from the freezer and a premium was charged! Personally for the price I'd rather recommend Flambo's all you can eat buffet and save yourself the schlep of finding the restaurant and the poor food!

We came here for a warm drink after a cold, rainy day on park at around 20:30. Reception was exceedingly frosty for such a simple request, and asking for a table for drinks instead of a tall stool at the bar (with a 10 year old child) was met with confusion for some reason. After an awkward pause, the host on the entrance showed us to our table. We were told unfortunately, all of the machines had been turned off for hot drinks, including any access to boiling water for a simple cup of tea. Seems like a very odd decision to not sell hot drinks in freezing weather next to what is basically a campsite...but ok, cold drinks it was. By around 21:00, the place was entirely empty, and we started to realise we were being surrounded by staff, obviously wanting to go home. At one point 5 members of staff were in a semi-circle around our table, obviously waiting for us to finish our drinks. It made us all (including the 10 year old girl in our party) feel very awkward. We gulped down the last of our drinks and went to leave - but before we could, we were pounced on by a member of staff we hadn't even spoken or seen at this point, asking us to mention their name in a positive review online, or on the feedback tablet near the exit. Why on earth this venue thinks it's acceptable to offer ZERO customer service, but then beg for good reviews, I have no clue. I can't speak for food, but if you want to feel comfortable or relaxed or welcome - this ain't it.

Nice atmosphere and friendly staff, quite quick food too but, we ended up eating here for tea while staying at splash landings but flambos queue was enormous. We next tried the secret garden as the app said no booking needed, queued there to be told booking needed, so made our way over to crooked spoon. Staff were lovely, live entertainment and a really cozy ambience. Prices aren't disastrous if the food was up to it, paid nearly £18 for the burger in the image attached, bout 12 chips and a level tablespoon of coleslaw. Thought the bun was toasted, instead just dry, no butter, patties as you can see were tiny. As I say above, if the food hit the mark its worth what ever is charged, this just didn't tick any box, and thats with a very limited menu so you'd hope whats on there would be nailed down.

I visited The Crooked Spoon for breakfast as part of a stay in one of the Enchanted Village Treehouses. This review is solely based on the experience at The Crooked Spoon and not the Enchanted Village Treehouse which was great. Upon arrival, the waitress found our booking, however due to the clear chaos that had been unfolding during the breakfast service, there wasn’t one available – not the best start. What’s the point in a booking system if you’re not actually reserving tables for people? The whole experience was nothing short of disappointing. There wasn’t enough plates or bowls, so we had to wait 10+ minutes just for some crockery. The food was poor quality, cold and really sub-par. The staff were trying to replenish the food and crockery as quickly as possible but it was clear there wasn’t enough crockery or staff to do that fast enough. Unfortunately, if you’re staying at Alton Towers, there is a very limited choice for breakfast as you must go where you are staying. Because it’s included in the price and you can’t go anywhere else, it certainly felt like they’d given up at this point, and it did leave a sour taste after what was an enjoyable night in our treehouse.

Went for dinner here as part of my sister’s birthday weekend away. We were told they could not seat our party of 9 as there were no tables free. We witnessed a suitable table become free but were told it would take a half hour to clear. After offering to clear the table ourselves, so we could sit together, we were bluntly told no and ushered to two separate tables. Menus were dirty and sticky. So much so, you wanted to wash your hands after touching them. No table service. Ordered food and drink at the bar. Which arrived fairly promptly and the quality of the food was good overall but overpriced. We sat surrounded by dirty tables. No tables were cleared throughout our visit. You would expect better service in a fast food restaurant. Given the food was good, disappointing experience and would find it difficult to recommend.

We dined here this week as a family of 5. We stayed at the CBeebies hotel and decided to eat here, which is the main restaurant within the enchanted village within a 5 minute walk from our hotel. We didn’t book and turned up at around 1730 and we’re seated straight away which surprised me. The place wasn’t busy at all and lacked charm or charisma considering, but this may be due to having come from a very colourful hotel. Staff were pleasant enough and took us to our table. Unfortunately I found the food to be poor across the board. The chips were very dry and I found the fish I ordered quite tasteless and was left shocked at the price of the meal. I assumed that being at a resort, prices would be high but I felt that the standard of basic food did not justify the cost. We had not long arrived at our hotel so felt limited in where we could eat for the evening hence coming here. Having now left and sampled dinner within the windmill restaurant at the CBeebies hotel, I would definitely say the food was much nicer here.

On Jun 2, we have plans to dine at the Crooked Spoon and had a reservation for 8 @ 8:45PM. We arrived early at 8PM and I must stress we never expected a table to be ready since we arrived early. However, as the restaurant was HALF EMPTY, I approached the hostess, only to be told the table would not be ready until 8:45PM. I must re-iterate we WERE NOT asking for the table to be available IMMEDIATELY, but telling the guest the table won't be ready for another 45 minutes while the restaurant is HALF empty is probably the WORST possible answer there is. Why not just say "your table is not ready but we will try to clear one for you as soon as possible". Seems some serious training is required.

this wasn’t a good experience, the food took an hour for the food to cook, we brought 2 10oz steak and that cost us £62.70 definitely not worth it, hardly any flavour the waiters were not doing anything but talking to each other behind the bar when we had been waiting 10 minutes for the bill after we asked for it. the prices are awfully high and none of the food is worth it, i could buy a £4.50 steak from my local shop and it would taste better with more flavour than the £31.35 one that they served us. it cost us £30 for 2 starter meals far too expensive and rude waitresses. in the end, it cost us £157 for 1 adult and 3 young children.

This is an order at the table with a real person place, and the staff were really friendly. The menu had a good selection and is reasonably priced for an on-park restaurant. Food came relatively quickly and tasted as good as it looked. The burger was juicy not dry, the pork steak was lush. The food was warm but not boiling. Puddings are a separate menu and another varied selection. The winner for us was Crooked Mess. Overall 4 adult meals, soft drinks and 3 puds came in just under £100.

Deserves zero stars. Went for dinner and ordered a tofu salad (£14!) received raw tofu and the most horrendous salad I’ve ever seen in my life, had to leave and find somewhere else to eat it was that horrible. Another person ordered a steak that tasted of cardboard, bacon was fatty and absolutely disgusting. Staff are friendly, shame the food is disgusting :)

I wasn't happy when i asked if they had any quorn sausages and the man serving me was putting meat on my plate and he didn't put hardly any of the stuff i asked for on my plate when i was supposed to be having a vegetarian cooked breakfast and this morning the waitress who spoke to us kept giggling, when we had a dinner in the crooked spoon a couple of times i really enjoyed my vegi burger and chips but its quite expensive in there so we couldn't have dinner in there every evening and they should have more food on the menu like soup and Bread rolls and sandwiches and Baguettes .

Bacon and eggs for breakfast were REALLY well prepared, haven't had them so delicious in years. Chocolate mint icecream (as dinner dessett) is highly recommended, it has giant chunks of very tasty chocolate in it. Dinner menu isn't that varied, main selection is just between some burgers, plain chicken and a steak. Overall, it was a very decent experience.

Never received our order. Initial wait time was supposed to be 40 minutes. Waited 1hr30mins, only to be told it would take another 40 minutes. Not worth waiting over 2 hours at 10pm for overpriced food, especially when you have a little one whose already passed their bedtime

Wrong starters, main brought out while half way through starters, mains then cold by the time we were ready to eat them, bread undercooked and was still dough in the middle and didn't even bother with dessert. Was given a 50% discount but still meant I paid £30 to leave hungry and dissatisfied.

Good was average but with a very limited kids menu, i.e. not the welcome provision of chicken nuggets but more a pretentious roast dinner, with autistic kids this went down like a lead balloon.

A small buffet type restaurant on one edge of the Towers hotels (next to the star gazing pods). There is good quirky theming around the whole place (think Harry Potter) and there is an outdoor area that is covered. The space inside is fairly limited so booking is essential if you want a seat. A small wait still may be required depending on when you go, there are not that many tables but staff are friendly and efficient, quite thinned out though so just a heads up. The menu is pretty open, there are a few different options available so they can cater for pretty much anyone (Gluten Free, Vegetarian, Vegan options/substitutes are available, make sure you ask your server). As a vegetarian, there aren't that many different options available, so if you want a wide range of food, stick to the other restaurants if possible. I would highly recommend the Woodcutters restaurant (near Hex). Overall, it's good. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, the decor is great, but the menu is acceptable and space is limited. An average dining experience. 3/5 I AM NOT AFFILIATED WITH ALTON TOWERS. THIS REVIEW IS ENTIRELY MY PERSONAL OPINION.

No issue with charging more as it's Alton towers but worst meal i have ever had table of 10 only one person ate more than half their meal. Two people had hairs in there meal. There where 6 wasps inside the restaurant we killed them for them! Order Uber Eats if you can't get a table elsewhere!

This would be 0 stars if not for the staff, the waiter was lovely and after a problem with our booking they went out of their way to sort a table for us. We ordered 2 of the bbq King chicken burgers and have never had anything like it the chicken was rock hard and inedible and at £12.95 each we expected much better, my wife had one mouthful and left it so our meal was ruined and we were £46 lighter alton towers need to address this issue as their chefs clearly need more training

Very good place, but not keen on the vegan stack burger. Our waiter Mitch, was ever so good and offered to swap them, but it wasn't his fault so we decided to eat the other food. Worth trying though.

We waited for an hour and fifteen minutes for our food to be served. After 45 minutes we were told that one of the main course wasn't available. This is unacceptable they should have realised this alot quicker. Overall service was very poor and manager did very little to rectify the situation. Definitely wouldn't recommend and certainly won't be going back.

Awful. Soggy greasy fried chicken, you'd need a PhD in avian forensics to identify a wing in the pile of mush. Seekh kebab tasted like cardboard. I will not make that mistake again.
