Not been for a few yrs, still excellent service and food. Highly recommend this place. Very clean, freshly cooked food to order. Just perfect.

A family member had here recommended to them so along we went to give it a go. First impressions were where do we park? No car park that we could see for the pub but fortunately had arrived at 6 and was able to park outside some houses. (Feel for the people that live there mind as when we left the street was rammed!) Went inside and found a great set up with a square bar that you ordered food and drinks from. Lots of large booth seating and the hugest amount of TVs I had seen. All playing the same things though…not sure if this is changed if requested. Quite noisy but it was fine. We were sat at a long table due to the number of us. Ordered drinks which were a fair price, then food which again was largely a fair price. Food came about 20 mins later and was delicious. Between us we had a range of meals, steaks, mixed grills (both the mighty and Indian ones), lamb, kids meals, curry. Everyone enjoyed their food! Chips were over cooked for some portions and probably need to be less chunky with certain foods. Puddings were ok, ice cream was extremely crystallised and not enjoyable. But puddings were a great price at only £3.50 each!! Service was good overall and friendly. Only one girl waiting on tables most of the time we were there…she walked some miles! Could possibly do with more help so that the wait for everyone getting their meals together is reduced. Only things I would say needs really looking at are obviously the ice cream but also the forks! They were ‘bendy’ and moved when trying to cut into food rather than feeling stable. Needs to be sturdier. Also, kids had the same steak knife cutlery as the table was prelaid. Overall a great recommendation given to us, and would return.

Id arrived at the pub via a long walk on penines way. It was such a lovely place to be at and the bartnender who was on her own coped excellently with all the customers including myself. I really enjoy the homely feel at this place, the furnishings are excellent at antique level and it is really worth the price. Outside tv is flawless i mean who even has that in there pub, and yes weather protetected. Seem a varierty of customers and im really suprised its not as full as it it. Worst mixed grill Iv ever had £22 he should wear a mask next time he robs someone. Partner had a steak which was cooked ok but had no flavour won’t be visiting again !

Great food, the wife is gluten free and they catered really well for this, chef came and had a chat with us to make sure they were catering for our needs!!! Will definitely be returning

The English food was over cooked and chips was burnt food needs to improve been several times but every time food his getting worse and getting expensive.

My wife and I visit this gem a lot and she has a 8oz sirloin and I have the 32oz rump in the knowledge I won’t finish it and will make a lovely sandwich the following day. We had never had a bad steak meal and the service was always friendly and great. We rave about this pub to any steak lovers, or rather we did. We have recently been twice once as a couple and once having convinced our friends that they simply had to try it for a while and we finally made plans. Both times the steaks were gristly and as my wife and I order rare steaks, and on both times the steaks were over cooked. This was NEVER the case, the steaks were always amazing and the chefs knew their trade, perfectly cooked rare steaks. I don’t know what has changed whether it’s the supplier and or the chefs but something has. I cannot tell you how embarrassed I was to our friends who actually paid for the 4 meals on the second visit due to me having recently retired to have four average meals arrive and all of the steaks over cooked (we are talking medium at best but long past rare). It was devastating to the point I repeatedly apologised to them for hyping a meal that didn’t deliver, it wasn’t bad it merely wasn’t the ‘exceeds Miller and Carter meal’ we had boasted about as we loved this place. My wife and I have already discussed that if we do go back and it’s the same it would be the end of a great era.

Went for a family meal and ordered sirloin steak which turned out to be so tough it was inedible. Complained to young man behind the bar, whose response was to roll just his eyes. He eventually came over took my meal away only to return it moments later saying the chef had said there was nothing wrong with the steak. Now unless he had taken a bite out of it, then I don't know how he came to that conclusion. I was refunded my money without any apology whatsoever. Extremely poor food, service and attitude. Certainly will not be returning.

A nice Sports Bar serving nice steaks at a value for money price, the also have a good selection of drinks, will definitely return.

We live a distance from here and on spur of moment went. We didnt realise it was a sports bar, had a nice welcome and asked if we could move from our reserved table as the lighting was dim. No problem at all. Lots of tvs in there, had a local match on, it was very noisy, & load, which we didnt know of. Putting that aside we ordered steak for our meals. Rib eye & sirloin, paid at bar and only waited bout 10-12mins for our meal lovely and hot, well presented and such a beautiful tasting steak, chips peas onion rings and mushrooms we on plate, very enjoyable and cooked perfectly as we asked for it to be done medium. Pudding were very reasonable prices as were the steaks. Again good quick service, cheesecake with cream & Apple Crumble with custard was piping hot. So for 2 courses & a drink each came to £37. We thought it was very reasonable price wise and was pleased with service! A bit too loud for us but may suit others We will return

Nice little pub and it was recommended by a friend but the food was poor for the price you pay for it . Need to change supplier especially with the meat.

Reading the reviews I was really excited to try this place. Me and my family love steak and the large cuts available here seemed great. Unfortunately this was not the case. 6 of us ordered steaks (3 T-Bones, 2 Ribeyes, 1 Rump) and all of our steaks were dry and chewy. Non of us ordered about medium. It was just really big cuts of poor quality meat. Two of the steaks came out undercooked, they were happily excepted back and replaced quickly. But the replacement steaks were still dry and chewy. The sides and other dishes were nice, apart from the mashed potatoes that tasted like they had cinnamon and cumin in? Staff we’re trying their best but seemed undertrained and understaffed..? E.g we had to ask for cuterlty 3 times and then ask for steak knives. They were friendly though. Overall really let down with this place, was expecting really good steaks but unfortunately it was not the case.

Went here last week steaks were all undercooked icecreams were sent out in the tubs very unprofessional should have been in bowls I had apple pie which was raw with ice cream in tubs sent it back still raw the last time we came 2 years ago the chef then cooked everything to perfection the new chef hadn't got a clue

Amazing Sunday roast we had 2 courses Mushroom soup and roast beef dinner absolutely delicious, the mushroom soup is so tasty abd the slices of roast beef on my dinner were plenty if anything the dinner was too big lol but so tasty

We were booked at another restaurant and actually seated! The restaurant was awful and service was shocking! We called to see if we needed to book and were told by a friendly staff member we could just turn up. We left our awful restaurant and turned up here and wow! The staff are super friendly, it was like being greeted by friends, we had a choice of table and given instructions on diwnliading the app. The menu is amazing!! The waitress was helpful with any queries we had. Needless to say we ordered too much food!! The food was amazing and we were given the option to take home anything we couldn't manage. This is definately our new place to go for food!

Visited with a coach party of Bolton Wanderers fans on the way to watch the whites against Coventry...at Birmingham (long story!). Staff were very welcoming and 50 Wanderers fans sat down to eat from the very diverse menu covering pub and grill classics through a very comprehensive Indian selection. Given the numbers that converged on the venue they did a fantastic job of getting the food out to all in a timely and calm fashion. Everyone was very satisfied and the Liver, Bacon and Onions was exceptional..swapped the chips for mashed potatoes which were excellent. We'll be back...Whites Army!

Two weeks ago on Friday we visited this place, we found Rices  was too hard, heat micro oven long time and serve. Naan also hard and burn they don't think it need to make piece. They put too much ajinomoto in curry, there was only ajinomoto test on the curry. Mo mo was uncooked and its source was so bad smell.I saw in Indian chef is Toilet he did not wash his hand,his dress was so dirty and he has long hairs but did not wearing hat. Zero knowledge food hygiene.

We called in for our evening meal(a party of four) The cricketers is well knownfor its steaks but also for very tasty curries. I had the chicken tikka masala withh the usualrice etc.I also ordered a keema naan thinkingI would just try a small portion. It was so thin, and well filled that I ate the lot myself. Do try The Criketers

The pub had been recommended to us by a family member, food was absolutely delicious, I had a sirloin and was cooked perfectly, husband had a t bone steak and he really enjoyed it, will definitely be back again and reasonably priced

Celebrated early birthday with friends and what an amazing time. Staff treated me like royalty with free wine and customer service could not be matched, Food was delicious, large portions and so cheap. We will be back, thank you so much to manager and his amazing staff for a fab night.

we had the function room for a surprise 50th birthday meal for my dad. food was lovely & they did amazing to do meals for nearly 60 people so we could all eat together. great night and brill value for money

It was my friends 50th birthday and we had the room up stairs, perfect for a small party we had 60 people which filled it nicely, maybe could of had a bit more choice on the bar up stairs but we coped fine. we had a sit down meal up stairs for 52 people and the staff managed to get all the meals out in 45 minutes which was amazing and the food was brilliant for the money, we were really impressed, staff were really helpful and friendly would recommend. Thank you

I had a surprise party here, the owner and staff was so very helpful from start to finish. We had 54 people sitting down to eat food arrived together and was lovely . would def go there again thank you for all your hard work

Let's get the bad out of the way first, street parking only but the food makes up for that ten times over, inside is not posh but again the food is the star.

I went there and it’s just not welcoming! I went there to get food and they basically served me their left overs that they probably used last night, did not taste fresh at all and I didn’t even take my second bite. Waste of money and even when I complained the owner even started arguing with us and then told us to leave the pub. I would never take my family there again! My kids couldn’t even eat the re heated tika they gave! Horrible!

This is now the pub i visit before every WBA game. Home of the LUCKY DRY BURGER whenever my don has a plain burger West Brom Win. This has now become ritual and the couple of times he didnt have it we lost including end of last season.

what a fabulous reunion at my mum and dads local. after almost 50 years I again visited this public house and wow what a difference. The food was out of this world massive plate i had jerk chicken it was so tasty. The owner of the pub was fantastic and his staff. Lovely atmosphere. Will be coming back again in the not too distant future.

I used this pub 30 years ago before i left to midlands. when on a memory trip before WBA game. What agreat pub. friendly staff friendly customers and the food was great. My son says his burger is the best here has ever had. the indian food and steak was fantastic. wish i could move this pub closer to where i live now. will definaately make it my bedore the match pub from now on. cheers Cricketer staff.

I have been told about this place loads of times so I thought I would try it out and I wasn't dissapointed. I was very hungry so I had a 16 oz steak and it was just perfect .cooked just how I asked and I didn't have to wait too long .the prices are very reasonable. If you are really hungry then go for a 50 oz if you dare

I usually visit with friends and for around £5 each we have plenty when we share a mixed grill consisting of chicken tikka, spiced port, shish kebabs and chicken wings. We generally also have the delicious fish pakora and enough chips to go around

What a fantastic place to eat. From the moment I walked in I was greeted with excellent customer service at the bar and she continued to provide excellent service and was very knowledgable with regards to the menu. The lady in the restaurant was also brilliant and gave brilliant service.

Tried this place after a few reccomendations from friends. The food was ok, nowt special and the prices reflected this. My main gripe about the place is no blooming car park!!!! You have to park on a busy side road outside people's houses and i couldn't really relax in the pub for fear of my car being side-swiped. That is the only reason stopping me going back again.

Someone else recommended this place and i wasnt disappointed. The place doesnt look very inviting from outside but inside is clean and buzzing with activity. Very comfortable surroundings, nice pint and the steaks are mouthwatering and great value for money. You can keep your posh nosh places this is the place for me. Staff were welcoming and friendly and the customers (some regulars) were mixed (older, young, families). Will definitely visit again as i would like to try the tandoori grill next time. A great place if you like good grub and a decent pint without the fuss of a more upmarket overpriced restaurant.

Larger was FLAT, which tells me they are messing with the KEGS! When I asked for alternative, just took the micky in front of other customers. Totally bad attitude. Always burning food and apparently loosing alot of customers lately...

Had a table booked at 8pm and ordered pur food at 8:20pm at the bar. At 9:35 i was still waiting for food. Service was fine but im not waiting well over an hour for food!! By this time my appetite had gone and didnt want to eat it. Our monthly date night which we have to save for was ruined!

Food was very delicious big portions , great atmosphere and service was great thank you 👍highly recommend already looking forward to our return

Cannot thank you guys enough! Booked in a group of around 15 people for my 21st birthday meal and I'm so pleased with how everything went! the tables were reserved in the same area so that we were all next to each other, the food was delicious, there were no complaints from anyone and they managed to get everything out at the same time which I was very impressed with! Haven't been here for a while and I'm glad the standard has not changed, will be returning in the near future as the prices are also very reasonable!

Called in on the off chance and was surprised how good the food was. Not very expensive and extremely big portions

Visiting this with friends who live local, ordered god for four people and service was great for less than 34 quid. Absolutely beautiful food all came as ordered hot and tasty would recommend this to anyone also ordered a round of drinks less than eight quid for largest and beers with no waiting.

Fuimos con la familia el viernes por la noche y tuve una gran noche. El lugar tiene un ambiente agradable de estar ocupados, pero cómoda. Había una gran variedad de comidas para elegir (que es parte de la razón por la que decidimos comer allí). Pedimos un curry cada una, junto con naans, arroz, y bajis pakora. La comida estaba lleno de sabor y más que suficiente para llenarnos. El personal era amable y dispuesto a ayudar. Uno de los miembros del personal (Sam) ayudó poniendo nuestras sobras de comida para llevar en cajas para disfrutar más tarde. No estábamos para ver deportes, pero la cabina nos sentamos en tenía una pantalla mostrando el día de partido. Sin duda algo seguiré en cuenta cuando quiero ver un partido. Pedimos flanes y no nos decepcionaron.

Después de pedir mi 32 onzas, me preguntaron cómo me gustaría cocinado, a lo cual respondió de tamaño. Cuando llegó fue que los carbones que blacker estaba preparado. Pinta decente, por eso de los 2 estrellas. Bajado a lo grande ya que el nuevo chef ha comenzado!

Nueva comida chef era increíble, si tienes una larga espera hay una comida muy buena, ¿por qué motivo tantas personas. El personal es realmente simpático.

Waited over an hour for food and when it tuned up it was burnt the scampi was awful cooked til there was nothing inside it

Ordered chicken tikka and nann bread, neither of which tasted of anything. The nann bread was undercooked and doughy and the chicken was full of fat. Not a patch on the Vine.

Visited here with family, and was disappointed overall. My peri peri chicken main meal arrived and after cutting into the chicken I realised there was a large pink and undercooked section. I took the plate to the kitchen and was told that they'd redo the meal. 5 mins later, they brought out the same plate albeit with slightly more grease on it. They had just cut the original chicken breast in half and cremated it and then also reheated the chips to some degree too- so not redoing it at all! After this, I did not feel like eating from the place as I felt like their cooking practices weren't all that (I'm a restaurant manager and to undercook chicken is a big no no, but to then say you will "replace" it and just cremate the original chicken- appalling!). I asked for a refund, only to be told "they don't do refunds here" but I could have a curry instead to compensate... Bizarre!On the plus side- my family member's meals were ok: reasonably priced, large portions and of average pub-grub quality. Hence, the 2 stars and not 1 star review.

I've eaten here many many times and given good reviews, however since one of chefs has left the wheels seem to have really fallen off. Over the past couple of months food has taken over an hour to arrive even when not busy and a relatives birthday meal for 14 people was cancelled 3 days before the event with the excuse that they no longer serve food on a Saturday evening. However, all of this seems mediocre compared to Sunday's fiasco. It was unusually quiet, however I now realise why. We arrived with friends as a party of 7, ordered food as normal and waited. This is something we've done many times. An hour later my family's food arrived first even though we were last to order. Two different other tables were served whilst my friends still waited. The kids meals eventually turned up, however we now still had two meals missing. After querying this my friend was advised (after an hour) that they didn't have any chicken! As you can imagine this didn't go down too well and understandably the manager was called for. A woman approached the table (who looked like a chef), with what I can only describe as someone with absolutely zero customer service skills. There were no apologies, just scowling and eyes rolling and was promptly sent away as my friend had asked to speak to the manager not the chef. A manager came over and gave the usual apologies and refunded my friend for 2 meals after this was requested. We then promptly left with my two hungry friends. We all really felt disappointed as we loved coming here, however until the 'chef' can cope with more than 3 tables at a time or even better replaced, then unfortunately we won't be recommending this place to anyone.

tried this place with my kids,who were welcome,the place can be a little dark inside and quite clicky with its clientele but the food is cooked in an open viewed kitchen,we all had the steak...said rump but not sure if it was....kids enjoyed it and the beer was ok too....if what you what you want is a decent pub good food at a good price then why not have an innings with the cricketers

Went to Cricketers this evening, Many times we have ate there and we recommend to other people. Tonight was a disappointment. Ordered food, waited for considerable time and asked how long our meal would be, 40 mins to be exact. We were told that food would be about another 4 minutes as they were waiting for chips. After 10 minutes food arrived to be told by the server named Vicky " it's common sense food takes 40 minutes" Somewhat shocked and alarmed by this persons attitude I was very annoyed. Generally food was OK with the exception of minted lamb chops which were all bone and barely any meat. At the end of the meal the same person came to collect dishes, she had obviously had a bad evening and from body language recognised that I was not a happy person and subsequently asked if I would like to speak to the Manager, to which I replied "yes". She then said "well you are speaking to the Manager" I asked to speak to the owner, after another few minutes she returned to say that the Manager was not prepared to speak to me. Goodness knows what is going on in that establishment but I certainly think that some training in Customer Service would be beneficial. We certainly will not be returning to the Cricketers Arms again and it is a shame because tonight was the first time we had experienced such appalling behaviour . Maybe Management should look at staff training, recruitment, especially with a "Manager" like Vicky.

been to the cricketers before meals have been excellent but went on Friday and were disappointed with the meal chicken curry was very fatty chicken wings over cooked and when I went to order the meal someone had been smoking wacky backy and it could be smelt in the dining area which is bad for business wont be going back there seemed like things had changed in the kitchen

I went out with friends here,first time here, i tried the Minted Lamb Chops they were cooked to perfection and very tasty,you must try them if you like lamb

Went here with my wife and daughter for a meal, outside does not look brill. But once you enter you are nicely surprised, big bar area with a large eating area to the rear. Love the booths with the TV built in. Food was so cheap and amazing. Staff was so friendly and accommodating. Very clean with lovely clean toilets. We will definitely return here. Tip. We went their about 4.30 on a Friday tea and could get a table very easily, but when we left at 6ish tables were being reserved. So go early or book.

Top notch pub serving great ales £2 for Banks Mild, tasty food at good price.Clean tidy establishment, helpful friendly staff who made sure nobody was left waiting an age to be served (other establishments take note!!)plenty of tv screens all over the place including in individual eating booths.Sunday lunch served until i believe 15-00 then back to usual daily menu including plenty of good indian foods, chicken tikka etc.Only a short walk from tram line.Music was on (dj)when we were there (Saturday night after football)playing top tunes everyone up dancing and having a great time.Well recomended.

I have visited the cricketers arms a few rimes now and every time I go I am happy with the experience. The staff are all lovely and want to make you feel welcome, the whole place is always clean and tidy and the toilets have always been immaculate. I have tried a few steaks and everyone has been fantastic always cooked to perfection and taste amazing and at cheap prices. Can't recommend enough well worth a visit

Good tasting curries and Indian mixed grill were lovely, Mixed grill was a large portion and tasty. Prices have gone up slightly since refurb.

We visited here a few weeks ago. Food was very nice. Was very busy and had a little wait for a table. Staff were friendly.

There were 13 of us. We all had different foods from the menu . Each dish was cooked to perfection. Very efficient service and staff very helpful. Some of our party had desserts too .equally delicious. Bar prices very good. We shall be returning. Oh and we received a complimentary bottle of wine. Went down a treat a very good time was had by all .

I came here on a weekday lunchtime the place was packed, it might be because it was Xmas time but either way it was a lot busier than one would expect for lunch. Had the saag chicken with roti and rice, it was lovely, rice was fresh and fluffy and the curry was excellent, I never eat curry's usually but I will definitely be ordering again. Excellent value for money and the beer was crisp, you can tell the people that work here look after it. Finally thanks to the friendly barman Jassa. Would recommend.

Lots of food on menu - I had half chicken with chips and peas, partner had steak. Chicken was ok, no real flavour but skin was nice, steak was ok, not the best ever had. If you want a decent size, average meal in standard pub surroundings, give it a go.

Treated my family (9) to dinner we a a few different meals the 10 once gamon was good the Lasagne looked ok mixed grill was good it's good value for the meals just one thing I wish they would warm the plates befor serving

Booked table for 7 food served at 8.50 i had steak & ale pie steak was tuff and came with no garnish . 4 of our party had the steak & chips they were happy with their meal . But the other 2 guest had curry and rice problem was it was served in dishes so the rice was cold before you could eat it . I had to ask for 2 plates to mix the curry with the rice . .. first visit and definitely the last

If you are in the area - visit here! Simple as! Great steaks - I had a 16oz T-Bone, so tender it was falling apart - all the trimmings. Party of 5 of us , and for the meals (no starters or desserts) - but all in (2 16oz T-Bones cooked to perfection - 1 well done, 1 medium), 2 x 8oz sirloins and 1 x 8oz rumg - including drinks - came to less than £60 - cannot say any more - excellent food, excellent service and superb price and genuine value for money! Go here!

Visited a few times before and had decent food,This visit ordered a mixed grill and 32oz steak which my friend wanted to swap chips for a jacket potato, thus being charged £1 for the privilege ???Food arrived mixed grill was very poor and over cooked,My mate could have done with a chain saw to cut the steak and eventually gave up with an aching jaw.Service was non existent waiting for sauces,We were surprised why the pub was quiet, we now know why,Food is Nothing like it used to be. Pity.

Came to the cricketers for a family meal and we have been here several times before so we sat down and chose what we where going to eat then went to the bar to order as usual when I ordered my steak I was asked how I would like it cooked and my preference is medium rare and I got told no it's either rare, medium or well done and not in between so I had it rare because medium is to over done for me. Then I asked to change the chips for a jacket potato and then I got told it's an extra £1. REALLY £1 TO SWOP MY CHIPS FOR A JACKET POTATO I have worked in the pubs and restaurants for 14 years and never known to charge to swop a carb for a carb and not to be able to have your steak how you want it cooked is a joke and half. Like I've said I've been here several times in the past and how they had it before today was fantastic and you could have what you wanted and how ever you wanted it. So disappointed on this occasion on the sudden chance all I can say is please change it back to how it was

It may not be to all tastes but a good value,good quantities. Ranging from steaks to tasty curry at a good price. A mixture of booths( each with its own tv,charging points,)and normal arranged table formats . Don't expect Egon Ronay cooking but the foods hot and served quickly. Well worth a drink ( no real ales) and a bit of grub.

An old pub thats been extended. Loads of flatscreen tvs all over, showing sports. Beer is cheap. Popular place. Food is indian currys and steaks. Decent portions for reasonablke costs. Note- no fullet steak. 50 oz rump steak shouls come with a health warningRough and ready but worth a visit. Standard pub, inside & out. TV's in all th booths and hanginf from ceilings so for a football/sports fan it's heaven; beer, football and a curry.I have lamb curry, missus had steak, chips & salad & onion rings - was fine, can't grumble.I had lamb curry and chips and to be fair the curry was delicious. :)I would go back, but probably only if I was passing, and it'd be a decent excuse to watch the football and have a curry @ the same time!

I was a bit reluctant to stay on my first visit here as I had to park up the road as this place hasn't actually got any off road parking facilities, the area isn't the poshest of places with it being surrounded by high rise flats aswell, On entering the cricketers arms we were faced with a pub full of lads drinking lager watching the football on the big screens/tvs scattered around the dull looking bar. Do not expect this place to be a posh restaurant as it's far from it. It's more of a pub with the rear converted into booths for you to eat unless you want to sit and eat off a wet sticky table in the bar area surrounded by drunken folk with the odd whiff of cigarette fumes coming from the smokers standing blocking the entrance. Food was average to be fair, nothing to shout about as everyone's raving on about this place because of the size of the steaks. I personally couldn't eat a 50oz steak so the hype doesn't bother me. The onion rings, peas, scampi and cold pepper corn sauce I had on my meal tasted like a cheap brand and on that bombshell I shall not be returning.

We eat here often and the food and service is always very very good. We recently had a strawberry tea party in aid of Breast cancer awareness. The Cricketers kindly donated a meal for two voucher which was very kind of them. The lady that won has never eaten there before so she is in for a treat!!

Do not let first impression put you off. Yeah is not the classet of pubs but the drinks and food are very good ham egg and chips was a big meal I had liver and onions was very tasty. And the prices where reasonable will pop in again very soon

Can't beat it here! Simple as. It's just recently had a refurbishment and now they have booths with tv's on the wall so you can eat and watch the footy at the same time. However even before the refurb it was still one of my favourite places. The food is lovely and it is always fresh. The staff are very friendly and helpful and make it a great dining experience. This place is definitely worth a try if you've never been.

I'm guessing when you read the majority of reviews about The Cricketers they will mostly be talking about the large portion sizes and they have every right to. I've visited The Cricketers four times now over a 12 month period and have never been disappointed. Firstly, yes the portion sizes are amazing, my personal favourite being the 32oz Steak. However, what makes the portion sizes even more amazing are the prices. My favourite the 32oz steak for example, which comes with chips, peas, mushrooms and onion rings and only sets you back £12.99. Which is ridiculously good value when you consider that buying 32oz of steak in a butchers or a supermarket would set you back almost £15 in most places.Secondly, the good food is accompanied by bubbling cold beer which is always essential for a well rounded meal. If you're not a beer person, the bar is well stocked and again reasonably priced.Once you've got over the initial strange contrast of pub/restaurant when you walk in The Cricketers is without doubt a must visit.

Amazing prices for such large portions of good quality food. We had 3 main courses, drinks and 2 dishes to take away for £35. Not the best inside and the service isn't amazing but the food brings the rating right back up.

This is a pub that as been refurbished .it is not a lot to look at from the out side. But when you go inside thete is a good atmospher.The pub as been extended at the back there are bothes with there own tvs they do indian and english food the food is verey good and it is good value for money it is child freindly if you are passing it is definatly worth a visit

Came here after it had been recommended.absolute value for money.food was beautiful steaks cooked to perfection.waitress and bar staff were very welcoming.carnt honestly find fault and would 110% recommend this place.

Do not visit here steaks was raw after I asked for well done daughters chicken was raw dangerous raw do not go here apparently chef don't like cooking well done steaks a joke steak house

Have been here a few times and each time the food has been excellent. Staff are friendly and now the place also has the addition of seating booths with TV screens which my son loves. Steaks are tasty and are excellent value, no cheap cuts of meat like some places! Family have recommended the Sirloin steak, lamb chops, Angus burger and Gammon. If you have room for dessert you won't be disappointed. Highly recommended.

Bit of a noisy pub and I was a little uneasy when I walked in but I'm glad I didn't turn around and leave. Cracking pub, waitresses and bar staff were helpful and pleasant and the steak is absolutely bang on! Like cutting through butter and very tasty. Would recommend to anyone! One downfall, the parking isn't great.

Visit here quite often with my parents and you are guaranteed a superb meal every time.The curries are magnificent, and my usual choice, but my parents always rave about the chicken dishes steaks and pork steak meals.We simply love this place.

A curry shouldn't be drowned in oil! My first visit here and last, quite surprised as it was recommended by a few people i know.

A brilliant place for match day or any time.A lovely pub with very friendly bar staff, the food was unbelievable for the price. A large half roast chicken, chips, peas, mushrooms, onion rings and gravy for SIX pounds!Food was lovely, friend had a sirloin steak, chips and the trimmings also for £6.A must try place

We visited the Cricketers Arms Friday 29th January for a family birthday meal. First impression of the pub was average as there is no car park and full of what looked like guys who had just come from work. Don't let this put you off if you are going for a meal. We ordered at the bar within fifteen minutes the food arrived. Hope you are hungry the steak came 16oz totally amazing loads of chips mushrooms onion rings and side salad, everyone of us struggled to finish it there was so much. Can't wait to return, go for it you won't be disappointed. Many Thanks to the chef and the waiters first class.

I came here whilst working away. They do great deals. I ordered a 32oz steak with chips which was £12 and came with a huge pile of chips on the side. What impressed me more was how succulent the steak was normally ordering a massive steak it ends up like a piece of rubber but this melted in the mouth. On top of that if I finished it I got a free pudding. I was so stuffed I couldn't eat it. Well worth it!!

Firstly my comments are for this pub on football match days when this has now become a regular for us. Warm, clean with friendly and efficient staff.Food excellent and such good value.

If you want a quiet meal out as a family or as a couple, this is not for you. Had been recommended to go here because of generous portions of food at cheap prices. This is the case but the food isn't spectacular by any means and the pub is a very busy, noisy and full of a local 'clique'. No separate eating area so you dine within the pub itself. As well as being a very busy pub you have loud music and sports tv to contend with whilst eating your meal . Struggled to talk to each other. Felt uncomfortable too amongst the locals. One star simply because of pricing and would use it for a quick snack if out with the lads .

come here every week for a meal and never disappoints daytime or evening the service is always friendly and tables clean. steaks are cooked well and all sides are fresh and plentiful. the indian mised grill is spiced and cooked perfectly for just over £11 and can feed two people easily with naan bread.. plus free chips and salad. choice of beer and soft drinks good and cheap too. definitely recommended

The food is excellent, the staff are very friendly and efficient, we only waiting 10 minutes for our meal and there where 7 of us.Great value for money.We will definitely re visit.
