Amazing pub! The staff are fantastic and so so friendly and welcoming! Couldn’t fault them at all! Amazing pub garden since the re opening! Such an amazing, family pub! I can’t wait to come back!

Booked a table in the week for 2pm this Saturday for 6 of us. We arrived on time and found our reserved table. It was busy inside and out which was to be expected. We sat down decided what we all wanted to eat and drink and went to the bar to order only to be told there would be a 2 hour wait for food......no, I'm not making it up, 2 hours. We obviously left as not waiting 2 hours to eat. Ridiculous! DO NOT TAKE BOOKINGS AND RESERVATIONS THAT YOU CLEARLY CAN'T ACCOMODATE. You are involved in the service and hospitality sector. You need to do better.

Absolute horrible This is what i asked for and this is what i got? New renovation does not add up to disgustingly undercooked plain food. For to be told it doesn’t look like the picture because they don’t have the ingredients and seasoning for it. Don’t serve it then. After getting food poisoning the last time i was very hesitant to go again and i was definitely not wrong. Will not go again

We have been regular visitors for years and whilst the decor is now lovely,the service was incredibly slow even though they weren't that busy,took an hour and a half for our food to arrive and was luke warm at best! Desserts took a further 30 minutes. Due to having more seating you now need more staff , the poor manager was running around serving and clearing tables on his own. Improve the service speed and it will be perfect.

Would not recommend. Thought after a new renovation food would be up to standard as I got food poisoning a previous time but I was indeed wrong. Went today to find out they have misleading photos for there menu I ordered the salt and pepper chicken and it looked nothing at all what it looked on the menu. I asked why it looked nothing like it for them to say they didn't have the ingredients and seasoning to make it? Why serve food if you don't have correct ingredients to cook it? Would not recommend and will not be going back

Really disappointed with the new and improved cricks, had a reservation and waited forever to order foods and drinks. one women serving in the food kiosk even though about 5 members of staff were serving bar. There were 2 tills on food so someone could've jumped on. Finally got served after waiting absolutely ages only to be told it was an hour's wait for food. Shocking management team to be running the place like that especially over a weekend which is any pubs busiest time. And the table we got sat out was far to tiny for 4 people to be sat around. Had to leave unfortunately without ordering anything. Feel like this new reopening was hyped up to much, same old service and a lick of paint just didn't cut it sadly.

Oh my goodness… such a great pub and an old favourite… but the food service has become so bad… ☹️ It’s not the staff’s fault, they must be horribly understaffed. But it’s got so bad that it’s just normal to them… they are polite but have become very resigned to it. They said “you should have been told it would take an hour” (we weren’t) and “you should have been told there were no burgers left (we weren’t) and “your order will be next” (it’s not - it arrives cold 15 minutes later). It’s not the first time this has happened, but for us it is the last… Management, please do better and get more people into the kitchen. Your staff need it. Your customers need it! We want to support our local but not like this…

Booked table( 05/04/25, waited 30 mins at food bar, wasn't served. All bar staff were concentrating on the normal bar. People behind us left and we decided to leave as well. Absolutely shocking . Bit of advice, have one member solely working on food bar. We won't be back again, even though it was our local

Kieren and his staff were top class for our daughter’s birthday! They sectioned of a bit of the pub for us and everyone had a great time, it was all clean and tidy and great service!

We enjoyed the seniors menu, two courses, smaller sized portions just right for us oldies. Restaurant can get busy at times so don't leave it too late.

I recently visited The Cricketers in Southwick for a pint, and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The pub is located on The Green, right in the heart of Southwick, and it has a charming, traditional feel. A really nice pub, as you would imagine a pub to be. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. The food was okay. I've eaten better and also worse. I had a rump steak. That was okay.

We recently hired the cricketers for a 70th birthday party, and it was a fantastic experience! The food was beyond expectations and overall very good! Hayden and her team did an excellent job organizing and setting up the bar area, they were all very welcoming and friendly. A great venue for a special occasion!

Bar staff geat but security are a jobs worth, I asked for a plastic cup and je refused saying its not there policy.

Father's day lunch , not busy , football on the tellys, and live music ! Food OK service not great, our main course dirty plates were not removed until after our dessert was served although staff walked past our table several times empty handed to go back to the kitchen!

Been in quite a few times recently mainly for drinks (but have been for food many times and will be continuing to do so) lovely friendly welcome guaranteed and always a pleasant experience.

Great place for a family night out

Stopped in The Cricketers today with my daughter. We both had a cheese & bacon burger. The pub was really busy but the atmosphere was friendly and the service excellent. The food was well-presented and delicious. First visit but definitely won’t be our last.

Hayden is amazing and a very great person ro serve you at this lively pub.

It is better to book in advance if going to dinner on Sunday evening with a big group! Otherwise, great and friendly service.

A really lovely meal for the family. It looks lovely with the twinkly lights and the staff were really lovely and took care of us. We could tell Alex made a really big effort to make sure everyone was happy with everything. Everyone had a different meal in our group and we all really enjoyed what we had and they were good portions for the price too. We had a toddler with us and she enjoyed her option and they kindly brought a bit of hers out early to help us out which was thoughtful. We will certainly be back!

The quality of the food here has improved greatly in the past year. This is a very well run establishment with great service from friendly and helpful staff. The fish and chips definitely the best I’ve had in a chain pub. An easy 5 stars Amended to 3 stars. Last visit (Feb 24’) beef pie had a lot of gristle in it and service was not as friendly and cheerful as had come to expect. Maybe an off day?

I arranged my mother’s 70th party here, and all was ok until 9pm when all the children were asked to leave. Now as I was the person who booked the place I can state for a fact that I was not ‘pre-warned’ about this happening. I have all the emails to prove it. I even spoke to an assistant manager Mia to arrange food times and pay, and she didn’t even bring it up. So not only was it terrible service but you also lied in previous replies to other reviews because you didn’t tell me about this ridiculous policy for private parties. The way it was handled was awful. The poor duty manager had no clue, and obviously had no ability to handle the situation, so the heavy handed doorman took charge. We were given a grace period to vacate the premises but by this time the mood and atmosphere had been shattered and the party ruined. The door man even said ‘we’re not asking everyone to leave, just the kids’! So were we supposed to just send the children home alone? Just ridiculous. Then for the rest of the time he was hovering around making his presence felt. Making the ‘grace’ period rather uncomfortable. No offer of compensation, no customer service. If I could have given zero stars I would have. If you’re looking for a party venue don’t go near it. Service at the bar was slow at best. All round a pretty poor show. My guests were left disappointed and upset, especially my mum.

Had a private family party at the weekend. Going alright until we were told to remove all children from the party after 9pm hit. It was a private party, in an advertised private function room. Not once was is it told to us about children only being allowed until 9pm during the booking process, otherwise we wouldn't have booked in the first place! Absolute poor show, and handled equally as terrible with use of a big-burly-trying-to-be intimidating doorman to extract our children whilst most of the time the manager hid behind the scenes, until demanded to be spoken to about the absolute balls up that they had made!!! DO NOT RECOMMEND IN THE SLIGHTEST, AVOID, AVOID. Ruined my mum's 70th birthday party, and put a whole dampner on the night after that.

Ruined my nans party even tho it’s was private function by kicking all the underage people out. So everyone had to leave. Rubbish service. Lack of staff. Staff were extremely unfair and rude especially the bald security man. Never returning again.

I visited The Cricketers Arms in Southwick this week and was pleasantly surprised by how lovely and clean the pub was. The staff were really friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was great. I saw some delicious dishes being served to other customers, and I can’t wait to come back and try them myself. This is a great pub for a relaxing and enjoyable time, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good place to eat and drink in Southwick.

90 mins for food that was still cold and below standard I asked manger all was told food is on Its way one poor bar staff serve the whole pub since the new owners this local pub is gone down hill avoid..

It's like a lot of places these days, they keep you waiting a long time because they are very often short of staff and if you have to wait more time then they hope that you will spend more money on drinks.

I have had a really disappointing experience. My gf came to the till with my friends to order food. It was 21:50 one of staff took food orders from my friends but another one of staff with coloured hair was just standing at the bar and looking at us doing nothing. 10 mins later At 21:00 (when kitchen closed) she came over asking if she wants anything, when we asked for food she said the kitchens closed at 9pm obviously it was too late because she was just standing lazy and waiting for 9pm for kitchen to close not serving anyone when the 2nd staff was doing the proper job. this happened on 6th of January 21:00

The breakfast with Santa was amazing and lovely all of my nieces and nephews absolutely loved and left really happy and satisfied the staff was amazing as well

Took my children to breakfast with santa, it was a really enjoyable event with santa coming round to chat with the kids as we ate and then had an opportunity to sit with him for chat, photo and present. Service was fantastic as always with the staff being happy and friendly

The breakfast with Santa was a definite hit with my children, they loved every single minute. The pub staff itself was understanding what my child has additional needs and needed a distraction to calm himself down we went off to see the football tree which set off he’s happy stims and he’s still talking about it now. My kids are over the moon there so happy food was brilliant, staff was lovely as ever. Definitely coming back to it next year if it’s on. Everyone deserves a massive pat on the back for organising such a wonderful Christmas event. Definitely money worth spent! 10/10
