Lunch on a very cold Thursday . Lovely open fire, great atmosphere, views over Richmond Green . Excellent service, great food . Group of 7 all ordered something different . All excellent . Couldn't have chosen better . Well worth many visits.

As for the food… as my 2 year old said afterwards “YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY.” Thank you Kai for looking after us so well - particularly for bringing our son the mini football table to play with to keep him entertained.

Busy pub on rugby day but, staff still very friendly & provide great service. Even though Kai was rushed off his feet he still checked to make sure our food was ok. Definitely a place to go back

Brilliant pub with a really wholesome atmosphere. Located on a beautiful green with super tasty food and fast & friendly service. The manager in particular was brilliant at supporting with some rude customers. Will defo go again!

Have spent many an evening here, and cannot fault it. Being in such a great location in Richmond it’s the perfect spot for a cheeky beer on the way home or to meet friends. Service has always been top notch - attentive, polite and quick.

An idyllic pub overlooking Richmond Green. Have been on a couple of occasions on a lastminute / can you fit us in scenario & have always found us a table. On our last visit I took my brother & his girlfriend who are visiting from Australia, they thoroughly enjoyed lunch, the surroundings & the ever helpful welcoming staff that were in attendance that day. Great selection of food & beverages available at a great price. Look forward to returning again soon. (I may even remember to pre-book) Recommend the Croque Monsieur & steak sandwiches ... 😋

I had been wanting to go the The Cricketers for a while, after doing some googling around pubs in Richmmond. The outside is beautiful, reviews on the food are good, and it’s in a superb location looking over the Green. Unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant and probably the rudest I have ever been spoken to by a waiter. Upon entry, we spotted a table towards the back of the pub which was empty and headed over to it. In an aggressive tone, the waiter told us to wait until he had cleaned it which is fair enough, so we stood back. Once we sat down, the only thing he told us was that the table was booked for 3:30pm so we’d have to move (At this point it was 2:25pm, so we were not worried as on average we spend about an hour in a pub from start to finish). He proceeded to chuck a reserved sign on it and ignore us for a further 15 minutes. In this time frame, I witnessed him clear a table, take payments at the same table and then pour their drinks into plastic cups to take to the Green. Next, he went over to another table and explained to them about the pie of the day etc… and took orders from the table. He continued to walk past our table, turning his head to avoid eye contact each time. Eventually we asked very politely if we could order drinks and food as we’d been sat there for 20 minutes and were conscious that time was ticking, and the table was reserved for an hour later (as he had sassily pointed out initially). The response was incredibly rude, bitter and quite frankly unprofessional, as he said “Oh…. you want me to serve you?? Ummmmm….. I mean sure if you want but you really need to say so because it isn’t really table service but ummm yea”. I cannot even begin to describe the tone in which this was said, but it was enough for us to stand up and walk to another pub down the road without hesitation, where we endured lovely service and food. I do not know what happened here, as the man in question had been serving other tables, so I am unsure why the rules were different for us. I can only assume it was because we were a group of three young people (This is no excuse as were were polite the whole way through). There was absolutely no indication via signage that we should go to the bar to order food or drinks, nor was that explained to us upon entry. However, since we watched everyone else be served in a civil manner I have to assume this was a decision made by this waiter out of malice. The Cricketers could be a wonderful pub, but I would seriously consider re-assessing your staffing decisions.

If you’re looking for poor and unprofessional service , this is the place for you. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel like an inconvenience rather than welcomed customers, and the pub was hardly overcrowded to say the least. After being seated, we waited for 20 minutes, watching the server attend to other tables, whilst blatantly ignoring ours. When we finally attempted to place an order, the server’s attitude was shockingly rude. Rather than simply taking our order, he responded with a dismissive, “Oh, well if you want to be served you should just say” In a tone that would fit in on the real housewives of Beverley hills, yet proceeded to walk off and still not serve us. This level of unprofessionalism made it clear that customer service was not a priority, so we decided to leave without ordering. It’s disappointing, as the food did look edible, but it wasn’t worth enduring such poor service . Instead we headed to the White Cross down the road, on the river with a lovely atmosphere and service.

Cosy traditional pub at Richmond Green. The food was good but it was not worth it the steep bill at the end. Sunday roas should give you that warmth inside but this one unfortunately didn’t. Great service with friendly and welcoming staff.

Had a lovely lunch at The Cricketers, the food was good as was the beer. It was the service that really shone through though. Angus behind the bar was fantastic, from start to finish he was welcoming, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. What a difference great service makes!

Big shout out to Kai and Angus for looking after me and my friend who were catching up over a perfect pint. My friend doesn't drink and they now have draught Lucky Saint so that made her night! Perfect for winter cozy pub and for take away pints in the summer.

Came here with a friend for lunch before heading to the theatre. We were seated quickly and as, I had mentioned it was my friends birthday on the online booking form, were given a drink on the house which was a nice touch. The staff were exceptionally friendly, especially our server, Kaiias, who came back every so often to check on us. There was a good choice of food and drinks and our meal was hot and delicious. It appears to be a very popular pub and I can see why. Would we return. Definitely!

We were welcomed and looked after on arrival. Excellent attentive and unfussy service with Jessica ensuring everything was just right.

We came for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and it was a really lovely experience. The food was 10/10 and the staff were very friendly and accommodating, Connor was serving us and he was lovely. Will definitely be returning when back in Richmond!

Had a lovely roast here. Our food wasn’t very hot when it arrived, but Conor was very helpful and sorted this out for us, as well as giving us a complimentary drink. The roast itself was delicious!

Lovely food. Scotch eggs were amazing, soup of the day (potato and leek) was above average and chicken pot pie was tasty, not too heavy. Angus is an amazing host, helpful and warm. Overall a lovely experience. No photos to share as we were hungry.

We were a party of seven Angus served us he was very friendly and super efficient. We all enjoyed our food and left very content. There was a great atmosphere in the pub which was very busy despite it being a wet soggy day.

A lovely pub on the edge of The Green in Richmond. The staff were very chatty and friendly. Couldn't do enough to ensure we felt welcomed. We had some sourdough and butter to accompany our drinks. The sun was shining so many came into the pub for a take away pint (served in plastic) to enjoy with a picnic on the green. Lots of cricket memorabilia adorning the walls.

Jess was an absolute star waitress! My family and I had booked a table to celebrate my brother running the Richmond marathon. The restaurant was very accommodating as we arrived in two separate parties, making us aware of the time the table needed to be turned over to the next clients, drinks were order and arrived swiftly. Food was delicious and overall excellent experience! Highly recommended, Jess made the entire experience a lot more enjoyable, gave us a great run down of the menu and explained the beat wine that would pair with the Sunday roasts… 5 stars 🫶

Angus was a consummate professional, recommending a great IPA for my husband and selecting the perfect table for our reservation. Sanja provided excellent table service and was lovely and attentive. On top of that, the food was delicious between a croque monsieur loaded with homemade bechamel and cheese, a sirloin sandwich with homemade onion rings and perfectly cooked chunky chips. Plus a view onto the green on a beautiful day, we thoroughly enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere at this gem of a pub.

Well-located pub with a decent food menu - the Sticky Toffee Pudding was very nice. It was the service though which really made the place stand out - Angus was fantastic: friendly, helpful and informative.

We were a large group on the day and pretty demanding. Jess and Kai unflinchingly handled our requests and put right an issue we had with our food. The service was perfectly efficient and pleasant. Can’t rate Jess and Kai highly enough! The location was also great, with its view of Richmond green. And the Sunday roast was pretty excellent too!

Wanted a nice beer and pub meal after a long warm day walking Richmond and Kew gardens. Heard about The Cricketer’s from a fellow Aussie and had a pint of Yes and a great meal with the pie of the day a stand out - chicken and mushroom. Friendly and great service from Connor and team. Highly recommended.

Decent pub near the green. The ambience was ok, not very busy even on a Thu evening. The beer selection is decent and the service was ok. Food was average at best. We ordered a burger, very dry patties, and chicken Kyiv, very dry too. Both dishes came with fries but were not very different from the ones you can get in a supermarket. Considering the location and other good pubs around, this one massively underscores food-wise.

We paid another visit here whilst staying in Richmond. We love this place and in such a nice area close to Kew Gardens. Lovely food, great choice of drinks and staff were great as well.

Booked the function room for drinks for a 50th celebration. Josh and his staff were brilliant , The booking process and communication was top drawer and the food we ordered was brilliant. Great venue ,at a great location in the heart of Richmond . I highly recommend using this venue for a small function .

Came here on Saturday with two other people. The pub is in a great location and looks out to Richmond Green. The staff was friendly and nice. The did warn us in advance that they had a new chef that day and orders were taking longer than expected -- highly appreciate that. We weren't in any rush so did not mind the wait. We all ordered Sunday Roasts. The were fine and maybe a little below our expectations. I think we all agreed that the food was a little under seasoned and could use a bit of salt. The roast meats were a bit dry and the Yorkshires weren't very tasty. This could be that they had a new chef that day? Overall, it was still a nice experience.

Good range of beers, able to take beers outside. Served until late. Freddie in particular was a fantastic bar man!

Decided to go for a walk around the green and saw this cute pub that is facing the green. I had the burger with bacon and it was honestly very good. The service was top tier. Smiley faces and amazing hospitality. Check out The Cricketers in Richmond if you want a memorable experience.

Fabulous establishment. Service and atmosphere outstanding. Food was basic pub fayre served promptly. Nice tap selection. The staff are great and so very friendly. Clientele affable and up for a chat. The view over the green is just beautiful.

Lovely location, very disappointing changes to the menu and no value in it at all. It cost me over £20 for one pint and a sandwich. No side with the sandwich and that’s ridiculous for the price. Service wasn’t great. Quite abrupt. I used to come here quite regularly at least twice a week for lunch. Since they changed the menu, took away wing Wednesday and the value out of every item on the menu it’s safe to say this will be my last visit.

Great pub, nice staff and chilled atmosphere.

I stood at the bar and was told to stand at the other end to get served, so I moved and same barman served the guy where I was standing before i moved. So I waited patiently to be served when a very attractive young girl came in and the barman served before me. Kind of spoilt my experience. Barstaff too macho for me, so i went in the pub just minutes away where barstaff much nicer.

Good pub, reasonable choice and chance to drink on the field while watching Cricket. What's not to like?
