Our first visit . Staff on entering cafe did not acknowledge us..Sat upstairs and looked at the menu and after a while we realised we probably had to order food downstairs. One drink was given when food was ordered and the second drink we waited half an hour for. After 50 mins the food arrived which was cold with overcooked poached eggs and chewy bagels. Absolutely awful. Staff nonchalant. A waste of time and money. Never again

We visited here for my birthday, came for breakfast and it was horrendous. They had no sausages but didn’t tell us. Breakfasts came out and they gave us an extra slice of rock hard bacon to compensate for the sausages but still charged us full price. The breakfasts were cold and they forgot one plate. The table was very sticky so I started cleaning with my son’s baby wipes. I wish I had taken photos of the wipes so everyone can see how terrible and unhygienic it was. I witnessed a staff member clean another table and literally she used a napkin only on the bits where the customers had dropped or spilt some food/drink. So I’m not surprised the tables are filthy! I’m not exaggerating at all, I know you go places and tables can be sticky but this was unbelievable. The wipes were black and we’d only cleaned a bit. I know we should have left at this point but we’d already paid. On a positive the staff were friendly and kind. Sorry but this is not worth visiting.

Lovely place to relax and enjoy a lovely pot of tea with my husband. The cafe was very busy, but staff were very pleasant and didn't rush us.

Very disappointed with the service. I was recommended this cafe by a friend, so invited another group of friends to join me for lunch. As one friend uses a wheelchair, I felt it better to book a table. Which I did. We arrived 5 minutes early, to find an extremely full and busy cafe with no empty tables at all on the ground floor. I informed the staff of our arrival. They said "oh dear we have given your table to another party, leave it with us, we will sort something" As the cafe was busy, we had to wait outside in the very hot, blazing sun with no shade. I was dismayed to see several couples go into the cafe and occupy tables which could have easily been pushed together for us, but the staff were completely oblivious. No one even tried to sort the problem. After half an hour of waiting in the sun, we had to leave and abandon our lunch plans. The food might be good (I wouldn't know!), but the customer service was awful. I will not be returning.

I am always pretty surprised that they have as many positive reviews as they do. While the cakes and coffees are nice. The staff and the owner John are very rude and stuck up. We came in today and yesterday and the girl on shift looked at us like an inconvenience for having come in one two days consecutively. Surely you should be teaching your staff to be appreciative of repeat custom but it seems they have become entitled and that they don't care how they treat customers any more. The only reason we make use of the place is because there is nowhere else around in Hinckley. Normally I won't go back to places that are rude and unwelcoming like this. It seems to be a place that wins by convenience not by their level of customer service

Visited here today… first time going and we were really impressed so friendly staff and lovely to talk to, we also visited the farm shop and again very lovely staff one in particular, wish I’d got her name but the weather was horrendous and there were puddles everywhere this lovely lady took my fragile mum out to my car with an umbrella over her while getting wet through herself to this lady thank you so much for your kind gesture

It's only be open a little while so we thought we'd have a stroll up to the new cafe at Poplars Farm which has already got a very popular farm shop. The menu is a bit limited at the moment, breakfasts, sandwiches, paninis, salads, scones and cakes for now but they promise an increase in variety such as jacket potatoes soon. They have a good selection of drinks. Prices are reasonable, a tuna/mayo panini at £6 includes a very nice side salad and some crisps. Cakes included Victoria sponge, Lemon drizzle, brownies, muffins etc, all priced around £2-£2.50. All of the food was really fresh and tasty and the service was fast and friendly. There is a good sized outdoor area plus a decent sized indoor area and an upstairs are too, we think. An excellent start to somewhere I can see us going often. If the prices remain reasonable and the quality high, this is bound to be popular once people get to know about it, it was busy when we went.

Hands down the worst Chinese meal we've ever had. Beef was just gristle. Sweet and sour sauce was tasteless. No flavour in anything else. Set meal for 1 and beef chow mean. Prawn crackers were the only thing that were ok. Won't be returning.🤮

Order a lamb Bhuna, absolutely no taste at all and watery sauce. Also had chicken rogan josh. Was better taste but not great. Had used before a while ago and the food was poor don’t know why I gave it another go. Won’t use again. Buy one get one free - get what u pay for; poor quality food. Waste of money.
