Wouldn’t give a full refund despite the game being called off the day before. Poor customer service when asked for a refund. Not acceptable

Booked by a friend for a visit to Carlisle United FC. The hotel has a great location next to the train station and is good value. The room we got was large, but with basic facilities. The beds were comfortable enough, and whilst the shower was functional, it was of a type that I hadn't used since the early 1990s.

Well this was interesting, initially I was met with an entrance door that had been boarded up which filled me with confidence. Check in was straightforward and the staff in duty were very pleasant. It was disappointing that no food was available at the hotel. Upon entering the room I was surprised to see it resembled a bedsit rather than a hotel room with a small TV and a sofa placed on one side of a room that was completely out of proportion. Bathroom was a bit rough around the edges and the toilet seat kept sliding off. The most amazing feature of this room however was the unbelievably creaky floors! I've never heard anything like it and I felt sorry for anyone who may have been in a room below. I didn't sleep too badly, but that might have been more down to the 5 or 6 pints I had in Brewdog across the road than the comfort of the bed. Safe to say I made an exit not long after waking up the next morning, making me uncharacteristically early for work.

Nice easy check in free parking although abit of a pain to find. Our double room was in the attic so quite small but omg it was so lovely and warm i am always cold i note others have complained the rooms are too hot but for me it was perfect very rare i find a hotel that is warm enough. Bath with plenty of hot water, tea/coffee & a biscuit each very nice & comfy bed we were on front so it was noisy until 2am but then all very quiet. I wud stay again.

For a quaint, cosy bed for the night or 2, with a location to be envious of, access to the train station and buses...with a car park at the rear...and a hearty breakfast in the morning...you can't go wrong here.

Terrible, do not book! Rude and unhelpful staff. Dated smelly rooms and very loud. Pick anywhere else, the bus station for example.

I recently stayed at the County Hotel in Carlisle and had a pleasant experience overall. For the price we paid, the room was quite satisfactory. It was clean and spacious, providing plenty of room to relax and settle in comfortably. The basic amenities were well-maintained, and the bed was comfortable, making for a good night’s sleep. While it wasn’t overly luxurious, the room met all our needs. Overall, the County Hotel is a solid choice for a budget-friendly stay in Carlisle. It’s a good option if you’re looking for a straightforward, clean, and comfortable place to stay in the heart of the city

We had a great stay as a family with a baby. The room was huge, very high ceiling, the bed was also very large and comfortable, the bathroom with shower was also fine (the only drawback: no toilet brush), overall a bit noisy. There was no baby cot in the room when we arrived, but it was brought straight away when we asked at reception. Directly behind the hotel there is a parking lot with direct access, you just have to give your license plate to reception. Good value for money!

For the price (£65 for a 3 bed room) we were expecting so much worse. The location was ideal (yes, there are pubs etc around so a bit noisy but not too bad), the interior was a lot nicer than we were expecting, the room was large, had a tv, tea and coffee facilities, even a bath! It was clean, comfortable and we had nothing to complain about!

Worst night ever, it was our stop before we head back home in Oxford from Scotland. The nightclub next door's music went on till 2.30 am, tried calling reception , nobody answered. The floors were creaking, above us and ours were creaking as well. We are checking out in an hour, but not sure if our complaint will be heard!

Nice place to stay, Nice asthetics and vintage vibe. Good place for sightseeing and has good public transport available nearby. The rooms are spacious and the staff is courteous and professional too. Stay was nice, nothing bad to say.

Possibly the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. We arrived late, lots of drunks, a woman shouting on her phone in the reception. The hotel was like an oven despite cool weather. The room was tiny, very dated and roasting hot with no a.c. had a per with us so couldn't open the window. The bed linen was grubby with yellow stains, the walls were dirty, the bathroom was dirty, the room had dust every and was just disgusting. I emailed the hotel and the group who owns it and had no reply. It was just a horrible stay and the next day we cut short our plans to visit Carlisle and went home instead. Just a horrible experience.

The attic room was very noisy the humming sound drowned the TV out. There was no spare rooms available and was given 2 pairs of earplugs. Hotel very dated in much need of refurbishment. Frankly the worst hotel I have stayed in. 0 out of 5 for rating. Moved to the Ibis Hotel down the in steady of staying in that dump 5* compared to the county

Nice from outside but far from nice on the inside! Makes Travel Lodge feel like a 5* hotel. The only positive is its central location. Only 1 night stay but checked out before 7.00 am as I couldn't wait to get out of there!

Could do much better. Carpets stained, smelled bad, no WiFi and the reception in the evening was somehow angry. It was not cheap either.

It shouldn’t be of note that I was included, welcomed and treated with as much service as a non-disabled customer. But that’s the experience I had. Incredibly thoughtful to a lone wheelchair user. Really comfy and fairly good access for my chair. I always say I’d rather have the inclusive attitude to my disability rather than the ramp. They definitely manage the attitude and are very close with the physical access. The staff were amazing, the location is right in the city centre - when you consider how hard it is to get a wheelchair accessible taxi, central is fabulous. It was probably the most comfortable hotel bed I’ve slept in and for once I was actually warm through the night. I’ll use this hotel as my default one from now on.

Run down and above multiple nightclubs. Sheets/towels were stained, as were the carpets. Bathroom was awful, falling apart. Hot water cut out at multiple points so do not expect a hot shower. Did not provide any amenities. Staff was very apologetic and tried to be helpful. The bars below don’t close until the early morning. You will not sleep. Book elsewhere.

A unusual hotel to say the least. A odd guy behind the desk who gave us a code for the door right next to the desk and a key to our room. Once through the key code we got the lift. Definitely use the stairs as never seen such a poor lift. The hotel is a bit rundown but the room was clean and the beds comfy. The window was held open using a bog roll which was different. The bathroom was clan but the shower leaked and had to clamber into the bath to take a shower. It's very central though and cheap

Called to ask for less cheese on my pizza (as I have always done it because I can’t seem to find a less cheese option on the website) a non-native English speaker guy picked up the call and started arguing with me immediately. I understand by the time I called to ask for less cheese he already put the pizza in the oven, completely understandable. But that can be said nicely, I just think he was being rude for no reason. Food is lovely as always and I will for sure order again.

Rude man behind the counter! Terrible customer service and you have to pay 50p for an extra sauce on your kebab! Avoid! Plenty of other places open on a Saturday night!
