Joys in Carlisle

Over an hour and a half to receive order. Food was warm ish, parmo was burnt on the outside and had no flavour. This place isn’t what it once was. Won’t be back 👎🏻

Raw chicken told them about this said we haven’t ordered from them called us liars told us to finish off cooking it in oven will not be ordering again , this was in a chicken wrap

We used to order here a lot. Unfortunately, much like the recent reviews left, the takeaway has declined in quality. Final straw was two tiny greasy chicken wraps that took over an hour to come. I wouldn’t have gone out my way to leave a review on here as well but after the reply I got from them on FoodHub, I felt it necessary. “Response from Joys We’ve been extremely busy, sorry if it takes longer than normal regarding your food chicken Kebab cooked on a charcoal grill it cannot be greasy. Everybody knows that I know who you are and we gonna banned you from our shop also. So you cannot order again with a ridiculous complain. About our food you could easily run up if it was late in so many orders maybe couple of them gonna be late because everything fresh to order sometimes it’s out of our control”

What has happened to this takeaway? Started coming a few months ago and the wraps and donner meat were amazing. Meat was sliced thinly really tasty, pizzas good. Last few times the donner meat especially was awful, thick and rubbery and seemed like it had been left sitting, pizzas disgusting, base like cardboard, no idea what cheese was used but ended up putting whole thing in the bin. Why change it when it used to be so good. Used to recommend here to people but put off returning now after last two takeaways were so bad.

Strongly recommend! Always say a Hi to Abbas(the guy who cuts the Doner Kebab).

This place has gone right down the pan. Asked for some cheese on the chips in the meal (couldn’t add it on the app) and they had the cheek to ask me for 90p cash at my door 🤣 then their burger gave me food poisoning.

Ordered at 8:00pm told us delivery was going to be 1 hour. Phone back up 1 hour and 30 munites later said it was going to be 5 munites. Called again at 10:00pm said none of the drivers had our food and then said we will make your order and send it out for free now. Phone me back said we can’t send it out for free and it would be £15.00 very disappointed. Spoiled out evening. (Delivery)

The driver is sitting waiting in the car and watching me for 5 mins expecting me to go down to him while he’s about 100yards away from me and then he’s friend bring the food and drop it on my hands and giving me a dirty look😂 Learn how to deliver then apply for that job what if I was disabled?

Absolutely awful used to love this spot completely gone down the pan and to top it all off I now have food poisoning. Won't be back be careful before ordering

Found multiple hairs in food. one even in a piece of chicken. Can literally pick it up. No apology and gobby over the phone tried to say it’s my hair. Won’t be ordering again. And will advise others not to. Said the manager would call me. After 30 minutes heard nothing and won’t answer either.

Strange Young man with blonde hair picking his nose then helping food prep simply unbelievable then a guy parked and brand new big fancy jeep out side he was so jealous he put a ticket on window god knows what he put on it this is all in the time I was waiting on my takeaway drove straight home and put the full thing in the bin Didn’t want to be eating anything out his nose To be honest, he looked a horrible little hobbit of a thing 1 star ⭐️ unbelievable

Would be 0 if had chose my partner made order took 2hrs to get it when it did come not only was it cold the driver said had no change and would have bring it back never came back my partner phoned joys for them to say aww that's a shame ant it and hung up

Order food waited Hour and 15 minutes for takeaway still did not arrive, so I contacted them and they decided to then tell us they had been a power cut and asked to wait till power came back on. So requested a refund which I only got back through the help of the advisor of the Food Hub app.

Food is usually nice but going downhill lately the last few orders I have recieved haven't been the best and tonight's delivery has took 2 and a half hours to arrive!!!

Got a delivery and it was lovely thank-you, we will be back pizza was moreish

Told us an hour for delivery. We are now past our second hour and our order was only for four people with basic meals. Nothing strenuous at all. I suggest the staff here double check delivery times and im guessing im not the only unsattisfued customer. Just stay away ppl.

This is the second time I have ordered from here. Food good but still waiting 2 hours later. Phoned and told it was on its way, that was 20 minutes ago.

I would normally give them 5 stars for Food, Service and Atmosphere, but this one time I choose to collect my food on route to somewhere, it was 40 minutes over the time suggested. I know this happens a lot and can't be helped, I get it, but it should be adjusted. Also when I eventually got the food it was not very nice for the first time ever. Pizza was undercooked a lot, an the wrap had pink chicken in and we only noticed half way through as well. Needless to say we were both unwell for days after. Usually a great place. Fantastic portions for sure, an usually great food. Please in future don't take so many orders you rush the food out for money purposes. Quality over quantity surely with food. Pizza planet still the Number One in Carlisle for me I'm afraid, this was just on route to our destination unfortunately.

Best chicken kebab in the county and an absolute bargain.

Ordered from here couple times now, food is absolutely brilliant imo but the delivery times are shockin, could be 1 of the best takeaways in town if they sort thats side of things out

On the plus side the food tastes good. On the bad side it took 3hrs to come when it said under 1hr. Food was barely Luke warm and items from the order were forgotten. Such a shame for a good takeaway to be ruined by what must be poor management, especially with no apologies.

Excellent food always fresh and on time best takeaway in Carlisle had an issue with card machine they lovely guy said take pay me next time so nice the card machine just wanted reset would highly recommend all the food is nice take no notice of any bad feedback

Ordered for delivery meal was to arrive at half 7 over half an hour late phoned to see where it was to be told on the way still no sign 15min later 2 children waiting on there food

Ordered a kofteh wrap for collection, it was ready decently fast considering it was the weekend, the wrap was nice albeit the kofteh was a little tough for my personal preference, the chips were really nice though especially with garlic mayo

Never have an issue with joys Hot food, fresh and tasty. Waiting for delivery can be a little long but then it is that good we didn't mind

I usually pick up my order but tonight we ordered for delivery took 2 hours ( it's a 4 minute drive) and was wrong and not particularly hot either Very disappointed tonight

Absolutely disgraceful attitude, still waiting over 2 hours after ordering, I accept the original waiting time of 75 minutes but when it is exceeded I don’t think it unreasonable to ask when it will arrive , phoned once and was told it would be there in next half an hour , still no sign , called again told it was leaving on next delivery , asked when that would be and got a whole lot of attitude about my manner !! Give me a time ! Two children been waiting since 6.30 for dinner now 8.40 and still No sign of food , will never order again from joys .

Food is lovely when it arrived too long too wait if time improves I'd of given it 5 stars. Lasagne was lovely but was really too late to eat such a shame

Absolute disgrace of a takeaway take your money them don't deliver what was ordered , make excuses then refuse to give a refund. 3 hours and all our food never arrived. Avoid!!!

Order from here most weekends but after today wont be anymore, Food took almost 2 hours to come when arrived food missing rang to complain 25 mins on missing food still hasn't arrived.

Me and my husband have been on holiday in Carlisle. We did order the Parma chicken and Johs special kebab. It was the best thing we have been eaten in a long time. Been traveling a lot but nothing beats the food at Joy's takeaway. Highly recommend Joy's takeaway!

Disappointing! The customer service was shocking and it took over two hours for my kebab to arrive! When I phoned to see what had happened to my order the lady on the phone just said it was with the driver and hung up. Then when it did finally arrive there was no apology for it being late. If it is going to take over two hours to make and deliver a kebab then put that on the delivery time!

First time Trying. Joys. Best one we had in Carlisle had kabab. And burgers and how honest their driver was we made mistake in giving tenner imore driver came back with it. In. Putting this review. We ordered again the next week. They wouldn’t deliver because people were complaining in two mile it would not be cold. I do regret putting review on I won’t even go in now

I ordered lamb kebab but it tasted like beef and it was overcooked.I am going to stick to my usual place

i really want to give a higher score here because the food is easily worth 4_5 stars. unfortunately my personal experience was quite bad. after speaking to the kind owner, it appeared we ordered things on a difficult night with lots of technical difficulties but he went out of his way to apologise and offer a voucher for free food in the future. which i believe him so i'll be happy to try things again. so, apologies guys for the lower score here but people should definitely try the food. real winner :)

Best Pizzas in Carlisle, Freshly made and you can really tell the difference. Wont need to go anywhere else from now on !!!
