We went as a group to a tribute over night stay. Hotel was very welcoming and staff are all very customer focused, which was lovely. Hotel itself was cold in the bar, function room, and bedrooms. That aside we had a lovely evening Negative was the Spa! This has to be the most stress provoking spa I’ve ever been too! Rules implicated once paid, a very unflexable approach by militant staff. Sadly they seem to have forgotten it’s meant to destress not provide stress!

We had a lovely overnight stay here. Used the spa facilities before the bar and meal in the brasserie. Relaxed atmosphere, amazing food and beautiful building. Lovely garden to walk around too. Staff couldn't be better. Really attentive and friendly. Special mention to Chloe, Georgia, Jake and Ben who looked after us at dinner, they were brilliant and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommend this as a place to have a relaxing break. We both really enjoyed it. Definitely would come back.

Lovely afternoon tea using gift voucher I received from friends. Our server was very pleasant and chatty. Plenty of food so much we had two boxes to take home full of cakes. Had trouble parking no disabled spots available and both car parks were packed with leisure club members and two big corporate conferences taking place in hotel.

We recently had a family Sunday lunch here which at £27.00 pp for 3 courses was good value. The food was excellent, lots of good comments from our table and the meat portions were generous from the carvery. We've been here a couple of times before (equally as good) and vowed to return more frequently. The restaurant including the other hotel communal areas and grounds are very nice. I would say staff friendliness in the restaurant could be improved for some, as it does vary. The first waiter who approached our table to serve us bread didn't make eye contact or say hello and did not smile in any interaction with us. However I must single out the lovely friendly chef at the carvery who was the opposite and had a little chat with us. The only downside apart from that was that the restaurant got extremely hot and at times made it uncomfortable, which I think was an issue on a previous visit.

Great stay. Room and spa facilities are great. Lovely grounds and restaurant and bar area. Only issue was with diner. Wrong food was brought out and i was made to feel it was my fault. However the issue was sorted and drinks were taken from the bill. We also ordered room service for lunch. Food was great and delivered to the room very quickly. However it’d be nice if they came back to collect the plates etc Would probably stay again.

Staff and location excellent. If you value your sleep and there's a function on its not the place to stay. Music blasting until midnight then drunk people walking around until 1am couple that with rubbish pillows and bed. Still recovering from lack of sleep. I had my children with me so would have liked to be put further away from the noise, wasn't informed when booking either. Visiting family thought it be easier to stay overnight will be driving home next time as for the price its not worth it.

Arrived this afternoon for a one night stay. Price for the room, excluding breakfast, was not cheap but we knew that. However found the prices of drinks and particularly soft drinks high …..pint of soda and lime more than £4….. Then checked into room which is small and in dire need of updating. Looking forward to a swim and sauna, only to find that we would be charged £10 per person per day so decided to abandon the idea. Very disappointed and will not be returning. Shame.

Mediocre Lunch at the Country Kitchen. So disappointed - Took my Mum for her 93rd Birthday after a hiatus of coming here many moons ago when food was delicious. Starters were limited - OK as long as you like Salad or soup. Big Choice.... Carvery was much as other carveries are nowadays - I thought as I was paying £30 a head - I would have something resembling one from home - but sadly not. Beef was tough - Turkey a little bland - Pork thankfully was just right. Gravy was watery and as for the stuffing- pasty and bland. Roast Potatoes not crispy - just soft. Blimey - staple of a Roast - and if you can't get that right..... At least some of the other veg were good. Good service and all - but won't be visiting again in the foreseeable.

Stayed here 2 nights for our wedding anniversary, stayed in superior room on ground floor , was very disappointed with the first room we were allocated, felt well worn and a little old fashioned was not welcoming, it also looked out onto a car park which wasn't what I expected for a £180 room, we complained and were shown another on the others idea of the corridor which had a garden view, this room was an improvement, but we then had to pay extra to be moved, which took it to approximately £200 a night , I still don't think this was value for the money, tv cables trailing up the wall to the wall mounted TV, plug not attached to the chain on the bath, some black mould around bath, small things but for the price being charged I expect it to be better, fined in the restaurant which was very good , staff were excellent, spa had good facilities and massages were good , staff again excellent, staff in bar area were also very good.

We visted here this time for the 'Two's Company Half Day Spa Experience'. It included access to the spa for 4 hours, a 55 minute treatments each, and a pizza each, which we chose to eat in the bar area. There was access to the gym, indoor pool, spa bath, sauna, steam room, and a fabulous Spa Relaxation Room. I had the Templespa Driftaway full body massage which was Divine (thank you so much to Katy who was wonderful)! My daughter in law had the My Kinda Skin facial which she was equally pleased with. There are changing rooms with open area and cubicles, showers, and hairdryers. The spa pool area was a relaxing area, but please bear in mind that it is open for families, and groups of parents with children, so if you would like a quite time staff are more than happy to advise when this is more likely to be. This was a fabulous treat and we both said we'd love to return and do this again. Fabulous place for a stay, a spa with treatments, a wedding, or just a coffee. Beautiful views! We visited on a Sunday morning 10am. The car park by the entrance was very full on arrival, and equally full when we left later in the day. There is a larger car park around the back of the hotel.

I got surprised with a spa break from my partner. Was a great surprise, the venue is just beautiful! The grounds were beautiful too! Spa facilities were great! I felt lovely and relaxed, the general atmosphere there was lovely. Breakfast was great. Lots of variety, safe to say I was well and truly full afterwards! Rooms were lovely. Had the best night sleep ever, as was pitch black and the bed was incredible! Loved the touch of the crisps and drinks for the room. Was disappointed by a few things, however. We decided to eat dinner here as part of our stay as my partner had driven 3 hours to get here so didn’t want to drive around even more. There wasn’t a lot of options for vegetarians in terms of main courses, therefore he ended up with soup and sweet potato fries. My chicken schnitzel was very dry and bland, despite it having lemon squeezed on to it. Pudding was lovely and the drinks were beautiful though. The lady who I’m assuming was the restaurant manager was quite rude to her staff within earshot of us. Also my partner had swapped his cutlery around, when she came to pick up the spare wine glasses, she swapped it back to the original way it was set… i know that there’s certain etiquette, but that’s not the way he wanted it. Another thing I was heartbroken by… I know you can’t help the weather but I really wanted to explore the beautiful garden, I had walked through the conservatory and saw how beautiful it was. On closer look, it was severely flooded so I couldn’t explore🥹

Booked a one night stay for our 5th anniversary. Was greeted by a helpful and friendly member of staff explaining everything as it was our first time coming. We were kindly upgraded to a superior room due to our occasion, alongside with some sweet treats on the house. Spacious, clean and warm room so cannot complain. Spa facilities are also hygienic and relaxing. Unfortunately had a disappointing dinner experience at the Oak Room however. Had to wait over 1 hour for our mains to arrive. Then had to send it back twice as one of our meals was very over cooked, which also took a long period of time again. We were given drinks on the house for the inconvenience and some money off the bill. A moment of appreciation though for the restaurant supervisor Marjan - a lovely and friendly lady who couldn’t apologise enough for the inconvenience, especially as it was our anniversary evening. Was also another young lady working alongside Marjan who was accommodating and apologetic. Breakfast was fine, morning staff were friendly and helpful. Housekeeping were noisy in the morning but also friendly staff. Overall a nice location and decent stay, just a shame the restaurant let us down.

Stayed over night for a work Christmas party event . The room was clean and nicely prepared on my arrival. I have been welcomed by a very friendly receptionist, who explained to me where our event will take place, where my room is located and where to go for breakfast in the morning. Heating was on full blast, so the room was very warm, but the radiator velve worked well so I could amend it to my preference. A nice big and comfy bed, plenty of towels in different sizes, two dressings, soap, shampoo, body lotion....all provided by the hotel. Also coffee, milk, sugar, tea and some shortbread biscuits as well 😋👍. Next morning I have had a little walk in surrounding garden. It was very nice, quiet place. I know the is pool and spa facilities, however I can't make any comments on this as I haven't use it. The food we have had during our event was fantastic and very nicely presented. Breakfast was full English style , served your self system, fresh fruit, cornflakes and muesli. Our room was up in the roof, no water pressure for a decent shower a small heater, the room was cold! Blood stained towels, robes which had seen better days! Wouldn't come here ever again. Seen loads of marketing on this place and thought it would be a brilliant place for a weekend away. Was given wrong information about the spa. Wasn't informed that we would have to book a slot to attend, I was told that we could just go straight in over the phone. Didnt even get to go to the spa at all when the whole reason we booked was to have a relaxing time away but it was fully booked. Being told that we coulg go at 6am isnt exactly what anyone wants when theyre off work and wanting to unwind. On top of that the showers and bath in the bathroom were very very cold with no radiator working in both bathroom and bedroom. Water pressure from bathroom was so bad it would take you 2 hours to have a shower. Service was very bad as I asked for water to be sent up to my room from the bar and it never arrived. A lot of noise that it was nearly impossible to sleep. Rooms are nothing fancy, very basic and not worth it for the price. Was quite disappointed.

Went for a Spa day with my daughter and was disappointed beyond belief. I have had many spa days over the years but have to rank this as the worst. Firstly on arrival their was no warm greetings from the member of the spa then we were sent to what i can only describe as a shoe cupboard up a short staircase ( it was also cold up there) then another lady appeared and asked if we wanted tea and toast (no other option) also the table set up was all sachets and felt like being in a roadside cafe. After the tea and basic toast we went back to the spa reception ( which was also the gym reception) thinking now our experience would be starting 🫣 how wrong was we. The spa day arrival time is 9.30 til 5pm and our treatment time was 2.30 so we had quite a few hours ahead. We were shown a small pool with a jacuzzi built into it and was also being used for hotel guests and gym member's and their children and that was our spot for the next few hours, nothing relaxing about it at all with the noise from children splashing around and having fun which is fantastic to see but not so great for a spa day experience. We were given a timeslot for lunch at 12.30 where we had to revisit the cupboard up the stairs over looking the bar where their was a wedding reception happening again that's great but i didn't feel very comfortable walking through the wedding party in our robe's and if it was my wedding i wouldn't be to happy either to have people walk through with their robe's, very odd. Finally we had our treatment and to be honest i have absolutely no complaints about the massage but i can tell you once it finished we got ready and might i add very dirty changing room (floors) we then left early as i couldn't take anymore. I genuinely think that the spa manager needs to visit other hotel spa hotels very nearby and see what they are lacking. Overall very poor and certainly not a 4 star experience.

I was disappointed with the spa day. I went for a relaxing overnight stay, but instead, I spent a frustrated overnight as from the beginning I found that the whole setup was not acceptable for anyone who has mobility problems the lifts was hard to find, there was no clear indication of where to go to find your room if you was on the second floor, you had to walk the whole length of the hotel. Then, to get to the spa gym again, the lift was out, so I had to climb 3 flights of stairs. FYI, I am not a mountain goat. I feel that more though could have been put into the convenience of the public, I know that you can not change the building, but you can think about what you can change for comfort

Stayed here last night and had a mixed experience. First off we had two rooms booked, however on check-in our rooms that were assigned were not next to each other. Did ask the receptionist to move them, but he said the hotel was full and there were no other twin rooms available. The rooms given were not even on the same floor which was not convenient. Especially given that the hotel is so confusing to find your way around. We kept getting lost trying to find the other room. Be aware there is no lift, lots of stairs and corridors and is like a maze trying to find your way around. Could be a problem if you have mobility issues. Definitely needs better signage. The bedroom was small, but clean and warm. We stayed in 279 and our friends in 132. Their room was more modern and larger than ours. Ours only had a shower, where there's had a walk in shower and a bath tub. On arrival at the spa, we were told that you have to book a time slot which is only 1 hour long. This was very frustrating as we were planning on spending a few hours here unwinding. We did report this to the duty manager, but I'm guessing they get this complaint all of the time. Apparently we should have had a confirmation email stating the booking process, but we showed the duty manager the email we received and it contained no such details. He did offer us a drink on the house due to the inconvenience. The pool area is nice, however it is extremely small. The steam and sauna can only hold about 4 people comfortably. The jacuzzi is also small, and the temperature is not hot. It was quite noisy in the spa, quite a few children playing around. You are not provided with slippers and the changing rooms are not the cleanest. Dinner was very good in the Oak restaurant and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Also had breakfast in the Oak and again it was very good, however the temperature of the buffet items could have been hotter. The decor around the property is lovely, well kept geounds and does provide some good photo opportunities. Overall an okay stay, but I would not suggest staying here if you are looking for a relaxing spa day.

Only dropped in for a few minutes looks very nice. The drive is quite tight though when cars are passing with very low bollards edging the road.

Was disappointed with our room, its quite dated throughout and the bathroom looks atleast 30 years old. The curtain was broken which was annoying and the walls are quite thin as we could hear shouting/talking throughout the night. The only part we loved was the breakfast. The spa is quite basic as well and I would say this hotel is a 2 star rating at best.

Myself & friend stayed @ the hotel on Sunday. Found all the staff very helpful & friendly especially James the bar manager. Thank you again James for our birthday treats they where much appreciated. The carvery & breakfast was delicious. The only niggle was room wasn’t very warm & the Wi-Fi didn’t work. Definitely visit again.

4 of us had the 3 course evening Carvery. Starters okay but the main carvery meal so disappointing, food all lukewarm and the beef was so tough the knife couldn't cut through it. Desserts have not got much of a selection and cheese and biscuits very poor. We used to go many years ago to the Country Kitchen regularly but sadly the standard's have certainly dropped considerably.

Lovely setting for a hotel, golf course and a spa. From how they have designed it or how it's been designed; it looks to be a great venue for weddings. Our room was comfortable, clean and spacious. However, tables for two people on restaurant are a little small and have little space to place food/cutlery. Gym was very nice and clean. Have decent selection of gym equipment. Pool was out of order so unfortunately couldn't use it. They also do gym classes which is quite good. Gives you that bit of a push rather than doing a session alone. All the staff are very welcoming and friendly. It has free parking. Would suggest they get the carpets cleaned throughout the hotel to give it that new re-fresh look. I would happily return here in future.

I have used the Hotel several times as a venue for Celebration or following a funeral and always had excellent service from the staff and good food at buffet in a hired room. The rooms are traditional with wooden panelling and windows and doors out onto verandah or patio overlooking the golf course and grounds. Very pleasant peaceful surroundings. I cannot speak for bedrooms and accommodation as have not used these. Have no hesitation in recommending the facilities I have used here and the Golf Club area.

It's a great place to get away, relax and recharge your batteries. The only ok let down was the spa facilities weren't available. I think I will like to return once it reopens . Would definitely recommend staying here.

Went for a romantic weekend. The room was nice but not worth the price. Dinner was ok in the oak room but found the waitress a little needy, kept asking 'is everything ok'. Moved to the buffet the next night, a much more pleasant experience. Breakfast was great too. Overall it's unlikely I'll ever go back based on value for money.

Would be good but you need a membership to access the pool. You NEED one. It’s impossible to just pay to enter the pool, and even if you have a membership if you’re going with someone else they have to pay. It’s a bit weird and kinda ruined a day out but I see the reason in this I guess

Absolutely amazing staff, excellent customer service. They were highly accommodating. Even though they were busy they keep a smile. Good was good and a great atmosphere even with Aston villa and England playing in the rugby 🏉. What a great experience 😄

fabulous food and wine. Chef and his wife sommelier had a nice little business, white wine and cheese tasting was excellent. Shame they are closed now.
