Very nice pub, lovely atmosphere as soon as you walked through the door. Staff were attentive throughout our visit at the bar and serving food. We had the mix grill, salad and naan and ordered lamb alfrezi, chicken curry and naan to go. The food was excellent. It was the weekend Aston Villa were playing away so there were a few football fans enjoying the game. Plenty of screens around so everyone could see the game seated or standing. Public toilets were clean and well kept. I will definately be back.

Various options of very tasty food inc. mixed grills, curry’s and vegetarian. Have been going regularly and can highly recommend the butter chicken, jalfrezi and lamb which are definitely among the best in Birmingham. Top class food and excellent service👌

For a Saturday night in January this place was so busy and the atmosphere was amazing. The staff could not do enough for you and were so attentive. The food was delicious, such a good range of both meat and veggie dishes. Would highly recommend and will definitely be going back again.

Have eaten at many mixed grill pubs over a long period of time. When ordering takeout yes you know the food is going to be 60% of what you would get eating it in the pub. We ordered take out this evening & bland lamb curry, rotis were burnt & hard & the mix grill was average. To be honest since moving to Sutton there are no good places in the area as I’ve tried them all.

First time we've been under the new management. Made to feel very welcome by the staff. Food is excellent, plenty of choice on the menu. Definitely a pub to visit if you like Indian cuisine.

Car was in for mot around the corner so popped in here for a drink and asked if food was being served ..the polite barman said it isn’t yet but the chefs have just turned up so I can ask if they can do you something in the next half hour..I ordered the mix grill and it was faultless..absolute perfect 👌. I will be bringing my wife here as I know she will love it . Thankyou so much to the staff at the king arms 🙏

Very handy restaurant to have next to a Premier Inn Sutton Coldfield. Lovely relaxed atmosphere, good honest food at a good price. Service exceptional and friendly. Travelling on business on my own and didn’t feel uncomfortable sitting on my own to eat👍

Great place visited with friends I loved the food as a gluten free vegan the chef personally tailored the food to my needs and gave me great options on top of what they had. I recommend the place to all.

Had a fantastic time at The Bar Kings Arms! We got there a little late, but the bartender, Rudbik, was really accommodating. The food was top-notch—I had the Chicken Jalfrezi, and it was honestly one of the best I’ve had in a long time. It was my friend’s birthday, and Rudbik made the night extra special by mixing up a custom Long Island Iced Tea for us. He was super friendly and made sure we had a great time. Highly recommend checking this place out, especially if Rudbik is around!

Excellent food. Delicious. Happy to recommend and will return. Only minor thing was lack of draught beers. Wine was good and well priced.

Visited for the first time yesterday. A group of us shared some mixed grills and breads with a few beers and watched the football. Food was fantastic particularly the fish pakora on the seafood grill. Really nice selection of beers. Highly recommended

Advertised as open on Tuesdays at 3.30pm, Early Bird menu on offer, so early bird someone forgot to tell the owners to open up. Got there at 4pm, padlocks on one gate, tried the other door that was locked as well. Highly embarrassing. What a waste of time. Why not update Google/website to the correct opening times. I've been before and the food was decent.

Super food and a great selection of drinks at a great price served by friendly staff. Great for popping in for a quick drink or a meal out. Highly recommended.

Food lovely however ladies toilet leaves a lot to be desired. One toilet no light. Hand dyer didn’t work with no bin to put toilet paper having dried hands. Supposed to be dog friendly (in certain areas which is fine) wasn’t expecting a waitress who was scared of dogs. Come on Kings Arms get your act together- either you are dog friendly or not. I do not need to apologise for my calm dog just because you can’t get dog friendly staff. Very disappointed as have visited many times and haven’t experienced anything like this

Only had one member of staff behind the bar on the day of the sutton fun run. This is a popular place for people to go after the run thought the landlord would have been savvy to this and planned ahead. Great beer and chap behind bar did his best. Glasses collected regularly and nice outdoor area.

Town centre pub with informal indian food. Friendly and welcoming. Ideal place for a swift drink and a curry.

Unhelpful staff and a "local character" pretending to be mentally disabled in an attempt to start trouble all add to the overall terrible atmosphere of the bar.

The meals were amazing. Chilli prawn starter was the best I’ve had. The serving were big portions The staff are very welcoming and friendly and made sure we were happy and never rushed us.

My daughter held her baby shower here and I cannot fault the service and food. We had a small area all to ourselves and the staff couldn’t do enough to help us and make the afternoon a lovely celebration with family and friends. We often pop in for food in the week too. A superb and friendly experience! The staff are lovely, and the food fantastic. We’re shared a small mixed grill as a starter, then had the lamb curry and Karahi paneer with a lovely garlic naan and rice. Absolutely delicious! We’ll be back soon.

Not the best desi pub we have visited, not much competition in the area though. Large mixed grill was okay but not worth the money, curries were pretty bland.

having promised ourselves to return on our next trip to Sutton we were yet again delighted. The staff, both bar and food were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. The menu has expanded since our last visit with some beautiful Indian dishes. Be warned though the starter portions are very generous and if you don't have a huge appetite ,are easily shareable.

We decided to try The Kings Arms on a Sunday evening with our two young children, we almost didn’t turn up because we had no response to our table reservation request by phone for online so we thought maybe they had closed down but we are REALLY pleased we decided to go anyway. The place was really clean and the staff were very friendly, and the food was absolutely fantastic!! Honestly the best Indian food we have eaten in a long time and my partner said it is the best mixed grill he has ever eaten. We will definitely be back. To improve they need to get back to people about reservations or just state on the website that reservations are not required, and they could do with improving the signage outside to tell people about the amazing food they serve!

We descended today, 30 plus in number, unannounced at our old local pub, The Kings Arms. Food and hospitality was superb!

Family went at 5.00 pm to celebrate grandsons birthday ..4 adults 2 children ..only heating in there were calor gas heaters chose a table nearest one of these …ordered our food ..food came out before plates and the plates were stone cold which made food go cold quicker ..the food was lovely but experience was spoiled by being so cold in there …would go again but would have to be in Spring or Summer ..

10 out of 10 for the food and the bad man but found the waitress humourless and rude no please or thank you and asked to settle the bill before we finished

What a surprise. I read the recent reviews on trip advisor and popped in with the good lady. Let me tell you, genuinely the best Indian cuisine I’ve eaten in a long time. Reasonably priced, lovely friendly staff and a taste sensation. I ordered Chicken Tikka Massala which consisted of large chunks of chicken in a sizzling platter. The good lady ordered a mix veg curry, pilau rice (which I helped with) and we both shared a garlic and coriander naan. Really couldn’t fault it. Kingfisher on tap too! We will continue to support this local business which is a little gem of a find. If you can support them then please do so they stick around. One thing I must add is that some previous comments mentioned the menu not having much to choose from. The menu’s double sided. Plenty to choose from.

I am adding to the review I left 5 months ago to say I have eaten here since and the standard is being maintained. Reading the 1star reviews I think they must have been left by a competitor. None of the comments are justified or fair. Ignore the naysayers. This pub/restaurant is brilliant. Original post: First time eating here. The welcome was lovely, the food was freshly cooked (you can tell), the service was friendly and professional and the food tasted fabulous. I will definitely be back and recommending.

The Real Deal! This place has it all for for a great gastronomic experience. Completely refurbished with a charm of elegance and welcome home feel that puts you at ease to relax and ready to enjoy what's to come. The atmosphere and ambience is further enhanced by the warm welcome and most attentive individual attention that I have not experienced in such an establishment for a long time. I came first time with my family and were not disappointed with the range and quality of food available. Good range of beers on tap and bottled, with added bonus of cocktails. The missus had gin-based cocktail which ticked all her boxes. The current menu range was more than ample to satisfy us, and were advised the menu range was to be extended very shortly. Our starters included fish pakora (large with super crispy batter), a massive mixed grill plate; we ordered extra plate of lamb kebabs as they were so succulently tasty. The Masala chips were an excellent side dish too. Each item was very will cooked, perfectly spiced and without all that bright red false food colouring often used by lesser establishments. Main course included an exceptional lamb curry dish and a lamb keema dish that had peas freshly popped from their pods. The naans were fresh, light and thin and perfect companion for the lamb dishes. Although we were stuffed by this stage, the desserts looked too good to bypass, and we were not wrong. The brownie, locally made, with ice cream was an indulgent delight. All throughout, the level of service impeccable, the food hot and fresh and tasty, the environment and atmosphere all came together to make this an unexpectedly wonderful and memorable experience. We will definitely be adding this to our must do again list.

The people who run this business are great. We got there and we ordered drinks and starters. As we wanted a gap between starters and main course. We didn’t have to look for service there was always someone near. We ordered our mains and went off menu slightly by adding heat and different tastes. The food was really good and we had more drinks after the meal. The food was excellent and a good price. This will be my new go to. Not sure if they do take out but will be asking. Genuinely really good staff.

Mmmm bigger menu needed… Popped in for a lovely indian. Alas the menu of 8 main courses is very small. No Saagwala, balti etc. shame as the food they do prepare can’t be faulted. Not the place if you want wide choice of menu.

Kings Arms where every bite unleashes a world of unique delights, and if you guys wants to satisfy your taste buds with smokey perfection of tandoori chicken and wings with keema will leave you craving for more.

Never tried here before but a mate arranged a meet up as a group and we were served like kings! Stunning mixed grill platter - the fish is just awesome! Beautiful naan too - garlic (strong) and corriander was a great addition to the starter and lamb curry that I ordered. Highly recommend. It is busy so book ahead!

Been twice in a week! Great service,good selection of drinks including Red Stripe. Indian grill food superb. Had Small grill with a curry ,rice and roti between 2 of us...so tasty,well spiced and freshly cooked. Sports on TV and live music outside! Give it a go,good to have a new pub/restaurant in the area with good service and a pride in what they are doing.

This is potentially the best curry house in birmingham however i can'trate it 5 but will review, if you added a boneless mixgrill with 2/3 chicken tikka it would be incredible, the food tastes like it has no additives the chicken tikka tastes like no pataks has been added the chicken curry tastes homemade, exceptional, add a real chilli sauce with the two bottles you already have and ill tell my Michelin pal. As i said has potential to be better than soho tavern, a real concept which soon maybe expertly executed.

I have to say that this place needs a lot of work to become an established pub in Sutton Coldfield. The food that I ordered was salty but ok. I noticed something strange that the barman Ian I think is called kept giving free rounds of drinks to different tables. Not sure how the owner can survive considering the rising costs. It might be worth for the the owner to keep a close eye at the costs because the night I was in, I witnessed more than 3 rounds of free drinks delivered to groups of 5 or more people. It is a shame to see such abuse by staff which leads to businesses closing. We have to support local businesses but we can only do so much when the staff are inconsiderate of the costs.

This place is a disgrace when it comes to cold food and smelly beers due to non-cleaning of the pipes. Not sure, if they know how to do it. The customer service is ok but you can cover so much with nice talking when your curries are salty and barely could find any meat in them. The ambience is ok but there is a constant mess between bar and kitchen layout which results in poorly presented staff. I do not get the idea of chefs coming out of the kitchen with dirty aprons standing by the till at the bar just leaning there. Very unprofessional. The barman is ok but exaggerates with his talking and jokes which for me is not professional at all. Didn't have a good experience so would not come back.

Called in for a quick drink and received a warm, friendly welcome on entering. Looks much better after a refurb after being closed for a long time. It's spacious and clean, with tasteful decor. 4 tellies for those interested in sport. Went back last night and had a meal, which was lovely. The mixed grills coming out smelt appetising. I might try one when we go back next time. A limited menu at the moment, which I believe they might expand in the future.

This place is great! Atmosphere is chill and cool but the staff is also really friendly. They made us feel welcomed and gave us an amazing experience. I came with my family and we ordered the mix grill, veg, lamb and chicken curry. The food was really good and tasty and the meat was juicy and tender. Definitely recommend everyone to visit this fine establishment.

Awesome Pub in the heart of Sutton Town Centre, with onsite free parking. Recently refurbished to a high standard. Excellent Indian mix grills, and curries. Would highly recommend this place if you want to have good drinks and food served by very polite and friendly staff.

Dropped in on way home from work, can’t praise the service or quality of food enough. Will definitely visit again very soon.

Hadn't known this place has reopened three months prior but I received a leaflet through my door. On the spur of the moment I went today and pleasantly surprised. Curry and good beer are the best combination. The staff were uber friendly and helpful. The food was awesome and they show Formula one on the screens. I will be going back and would recommend. Thanks guys for an enjoyable meal

Food was a disgrace on our last group visit. The mixed grills were salty and tasteless with cheap chicken cuts without any lamb chops in them. Service was poor. Staff were busier with taster menu items than serving large group as ours. We were all disappointed. Will not be coming back for sure. You got better options in Sutton and new place just opened too.
