The Conservatory at Hornton Grange in Birmingham

Nice hotel, clean room and friendly staff. Breakfast was good.Near to the Uni and 5 mins drive to the town centre.

We had our wedding reception here in July and we had such a beautiful day. I have to start by thanking Tasmin who we were fortunate enough to have as our wedding coordinator. Nothing was ever too much for her, she was always on hand to help with any queries we had and went above and beyond to ensure the entire process went smoothly for us. Although Tasmin wasn’t present on our wedding day, Jess was there to coordinate the day for us and she had everything in control so we didn’t need to worry about a thing. The venue is just gorgeous and the staff are a real credit to it. If I could do it all again, I wouldn’t change a thing. Thank you for making our wedding day so special! Kim and Daniel x

The décor and food choices were rather reminiscent of British restaurants in the 1970s. Think Berni Inn! Food was ok and prices on the high side - and £6 for two slices of bread and butter with oil? Really?

Great venue with friendly staff.

Beautiful place and my daughters wedding was wonderful and the staff were very good.

The hotel was nice, modern located in a park. Far away from the hustle and bustle. The rooms are nice, maybe a little too loud at times ;) The bar is good, the food, in my opinion, catastrophic, I ordered chicken masala, what I got wasn't even remotely Indian, then I ordered a fich and chips which was just as bad. But the hotel scores points with the staff, absolutely super friendly. Thanks especially to the breakfast team.

Visiting Edgbaston Hall Hotel next door

Although there is both a bar and a restaurant at the Edgbaston Park Hotel, the food they serve is very different. Over two visits to the hotel, we've tried both and the restaurant wins by a mile. The bar food definitely isn't bad but it doesn't have the same care put into it when compared with the restaurant. The main problem with the restaurant is that it is big and can feel very empty when only a few diners are in. But don't let that put you off, the food is great and the service friendly and professional. (I'm not sure if they are students from the university but they have had decent training.) The restaurant earns five stars, the bar is three stars.

Great venue beautiful buildings and gardens perfect for hosting weddings and all sorts of events.

Receptionist did not welcome us,we had to find our own way to the function room,very small wedding fayre with no hotel staff to greet or interact with you,felt it was just a waste of time,especially travelling from Bromsgrove

The photos speak for themselves, the whole venue inside and out was perfect for us and we couldn't be happier that we picked Hornton Grange for our special day! Special thanks to the wonderful Laura who coordinated the day from booking all the way up to the day, she was the most helpful person! I couldn't have hoped for anyone better to answers all my questions. No question was ever too silly! Thank you for getting us to our special day so smoothly! Also thanks to the wonderful Jess who coordinated the whole day from start to finish, she made sure our day went well and there was no problems at all! You were fab! Nice wedding venue. Lovely green setting in the university. Park hotel across the road good for drink. Mature well maintained gardens. Outside searing lacked umbrellas in the sun though.

Had a really great stay here, we stayed in one of the rooms in one of the older buildings, but it was all modern and extremely well done. The room was spacious with great amenities and the shower was fantastic and the bath looked great and absolutely huge. The staff were all fantastic and responsive to any questions. Parking was included which was great. Food was really nice, breakfast was included and was great quality and buffet style. There was also the bar and a restaurant so catered to all tastes and was great for a casual dinner and drink. Beautiful setting, easy to find and central, but feels quiet and peaceful. There was a wedding on, and music could be fiantly heard with the window open but stopped at midnight so wasn't an issue at all. Once of the nicest hotels we've stayed in and absolutely fantastic value, I'd stay again when in Birmingham.

Recommended and a nice area with gardens and architecture

If you like a modern restaurant with a great ambience which would give any that you would find in Milan or Barcelona a run for their money this is the place for you. Set in impressive grounds by University of Birmingham this hotel restaurant is a hidden gem. There was service with a smile from Jasmine and Jewel they really looked after us with nothing too much trouble. We were there for Afternoon Tea which was a treat greatly enjoyed. Michaela the Head Pastry Chef made everything fresh she was able to make tasty morsels for us even for one of us that was lactose intolerant. All of the treats were delicious and we enjoyed our visit enormously. 1900 is definitely a place you must visit. We visit Birmingham frequently and have only just discovered it. We will now be revisiting often now that we have found it.

Went here for my friends wedding. WOW!!! Amazing venue, the staff were lovely, really helpful not pushy. We stayed in a Horton Grange room. Really spacious our tv didn't work but they came over straight away and sorted this. Breakfast was included, lots of variety, full English or continental, cereals, fruits etc. Would definitely recommend for a wedding 💑

We had a lovely meal at this restaurant. Really good service. Our waitress Miruna was especially excellent, even though she was very busy she was very attentive. Recommended.

This is inside the Edgbaston Park Hotel where we were staying for two nights. The food and service were good but a little on the expensive side. We sat near the bar, which was quiet and clean.

We held our wedding ceremony and reception at Hornton Grange, it was absolutely perfect. (Mid-August 2022) The events and weddings coordinator/managers Laura and Tasmin (Edgbaston Park Hotel) helped to guide us through from booking through to the final details. On the day, the primary contact was Ashley and he was incredible. Working non-stop behind the scenes, and keeping the day running exactly to plan. All of the staff were lovely throughout the day. The food was great, served fast, and the air-conditioning the main room was glorious during the heatwave. Rooms above Hornton Grange were lovely, but not air conditioned. Which I am sure is totally fine 99% of the year. Thank you EPH team for facilitating our special day. J&J

Enjoyable meal in an attractively designed restaurant. The bar menu had enough choices for everyone, fish and chips were particularly good. Miranda provided great service.

Great place for an event professionally set up lovely staff

Wedding . Everything was perfect but the staff were outstanding and really went above and beyond. It was a lovely day and the staff really made it feel like it was special. We stayed in the Aston and the room was percect Thank you to all the staff who worked the wedding, by being polite and looking like they actually wanted to be at work, really made a difference to the experience.

The team at Hornton Grange worked so hard to make our wedding day special. Everything went to plan. Huge thank you. Highly recommended. Superb service.

I was the Father of the bride booked to stay for wedding night and the night before as the wedding was due to start 12: 00, and wanted to walk my daughter down to the wedding with no stress. On arrival I was given another room away from the wedding venue which had an 10:00 check out with the wedding starting at 12:00 we would be out of our room dressed for the wedding with 2 hours spare, the hotel didn't do anything to resolve their mistake and said the rooms wasn't ready, so we had no other choice but to return home, really unprofessional after months of planning booked early they failed on the first time of asking.having paid so much money I expected much better service, booking your rooms early don't guarantee anything. It is only fair to say that the hotel staff tried their best to make up for the mistake and for that reason I've changed my review rating.

The landscape was really pretty and the wedding showcase they showed was beautifully decorated however some of the staff were a bit off about Muslims being there.

Absolutely beautiful venue and the gardens are stunning. The only problem I found was that it is very pricey.

We have eaten in the Bar restaurant a couple of times before when visiting our son at University and been very impressed with the experience. Not so this time. Service was excellent but we were amazed when the marguerita pizza that one of us had ordered turned out to be a warmed through frozen Chicago Town Pizza…really??? Not what I would expect from a bar in a quality hotel.

A stunning independent building, operating as part of the Edgbaston Park Hotel. It has a fabulous period fireplace, a relaxed vibe and is perfect for residential courses and training, as its large enough for medium sized groups.

I had the opportunity to visit the restaurant in the evening. The food was nice and there was good service from Miruna and Harry.

Had an OK meal here. Very expensive for what you get. One out of 4 meals arrived to the table cold. Ordered 2 treacle sponges for pudding asked for custard instead of the ice cream. 2 tiny pots arrived with maybe a dessert spoons worth of custard. Asked for more as the sponges were quite large, only to be given a small jug of stone cold custard! Not impressed. Only bright spark of the experience was our server Ruby who was attentive and lovely.

Hugely expensive for what turned out to be a frozen food suppliers standard offering rather than chef crafted. Disappointed at these prices as well to be forced to sit in the bar for my meal with 2 TV's and Virgin radio going which hardly created the right ambiance

Staying here for the night as part of an Open day at the university. Had booked a table for 7.30pm on a Friday evening and was about half full. Huge menu of drinks which they use the bar around the corner in the hotel from. This includes approx 60 gins. A very English menu of high quality food. We thought the portions were of a good size, the choice about right and the food delicious. It’s not cheap but then again based on the surroundings, service, decor etc, it does not need to be. It’s premium but worth the bit extra and especially if staying in the hotel. Best value was the huge pork ribs and the sticky toffee pudding is fantastic as well.

This place is really quite stylish with a very high vaulted modern ceiling adding to the grandeur of the place. The menu is well thought out, quite small which I always take to mean fresh and quality driven....it was! Lamb knuckle with potato, Mediterranean vegetables and a rich sauce, robust Shiraz and sticky toffee pudding. All cooked and served to perfection, by attentive and professional staff. Only down side Virgin radio playing....really! Should sort that out please

Good place for outside activities

We had lunch here while dropping off our son at the nearby university halls. It was quiet and we ate in the bar. The food was very good - great fish and chips, and good soup and sandwich. Excellent pistachio ice cream on the apple pie. Friendly service. It’s not particularly cheap but we felt it was worth it.

I liked the venue, like the hotel it's very clean. It is expensive as in the cost is quite high but the portions small and I was left hungry. It was nicely presented and very well cooked but just not worth the money at all.

Best place to be in for studying. Especially the library

Ristorante che si presenta davvero bene in un contesto accogliente che fa davvero venir voglia di sedersi e degustare le proposte della casa. Location quindi ottima davvero. Servizio cortese e disponibile. Mise en place elegante ed anche originale con menù che spiega i diversi formaggi inglesi suddivisi sulla cartina del Regno Unito. Specialità dovrebbe essere la carne visto anche il nome del ristorante. Anche il menu evidenzia la loro specializzazione con ben spiegate le varie cotture del manzo. Presentazione piatti solo discreta e al palato solo sufficiente a prezzi direi alti. Solo antipasto gli do un 8, carne da 6 cosi come il dolce. Gran potenziale, da migliorare

Recently ate here as part of a work trip with a large group. We had pre ordered to make things quicker. The staff were attentive and as soon as we sat down our starters were bought out. Everything along the table was well presented, portion sizes small across the range of starters given. As a vegetarian I had the falafel and it had good flavour and well presented but very small portion for the cost. The mains were bought out quickly after. Variety ordered by the group, those who had steak said it was cooked well and very good quality. Those with burgers said it was small in portion. I had the mushroom gnocchi and it was nice but very creamy and cheesy. A few had pizzas which were definitely a Chicago town sauce in the crust pizza with a £13 price tag! Felt a lot more effort could be put in and homemade pizzas provided if that’s going to be the cost! I opted out for a dessert but again they looked well presented. The person opposite me had sticky toffee pudding and said it was rather dry which is insulated for that dessert! Overall, it was a decent meal and the staff were very friendly and provided great service, but I’ve had equal quality in many other restaurants for a fraction of the cost! Majority were just glad the business paid!

This is my first night here, and I have just had an amazing dinner at this restaurant. What a pleasant surprise. The asparagus soup was delicious, followed by a perfectly cooked trio of lamb chops. The staff are excellent. I would recommend this place

Comimos aquí porque nos alojamos en el Lucas House Hotel cruzando la calle.Servicio lento a pesar de que el restaurante no estaba ocupado. Buen menú pero muy caro para la comida normal e. sol. 15 para hamburguesas acompañadas de papas fritas, pedazos de ensalada de col y una hoja de lechuga iceberg. El plato vegetariano de "terrina de apio" tenía muy poco apio, acompañado de pequeñas cantidades de puré de verduras, y costaba 14.Con un par de gin tonics y una botella de su vino más barato, la factura total llegó a 75.No volveremos

I took a friend in her mid 80's here for her to have lunch with her school friends. The staff are very pleasant and look after the ladies very well. It's a very genteel environment with beautiful views over the well kept gardens to the fields beyond. Calm and tranquil.

We dined in the bar having arrived late on a Sunday evening - we were guests in the hotel.We ordered two burgers - neither of us mind blue steaks but one burger was raw - it was promptly sent back and replaced. To be fair the restaurant removed the cost from the bill. It wasn't ground breaking and the bar staff were poor. The young chap who waited on tables was delightful. Hence 3 stars not 2.

Nos alojamos en el hotel Lucas House, situado enfrente, y pensamos que habíamos reservado una comida allí (habíamos estado antes), pero resultó que nuestra comida había sido reservada en el 1900 Steakhouse Bar and Grill en el hotel Edgbaston Park. Inicialmente estábamos un poco molestos por no habernos dicho, pero la comida era tan buena que volveríamos felices de nuevo. Los dos comimos espárragos, jamón ibérico, huevo escalfado y cohete de arranque, que he intentado repetir varias veces desde que estamos en casa. Mi esposo comía cerdo, y yo comía chuletas de cordero, y cada uno venía con una pila de anillos de champiñones, tomates y cebollas gigantes, que también intenté replicar en casa. Servicio amigable. Muy buena comida de calidad.

Reservamos en el hotel (que es de primera clase) y pedimos una variedad de alimentos, algunos de los cuales debían ser sin gluten. El personal fue atento y se aseguró de que nuestras necesidades fueron satisfechas. La comida era deliciosa, bien preparada y bien presentada. No puedo criticar la comida, el servicio, el medio ambiente ni el precio. No desperdicies tu dinero en otras cadenas "principales". Los hoteles universitarios ofrecen una excelente relación calidad-precio, y este es el mejor del Reino Unido que he usado.

Staying here for a 2 day work conference and visited the restaurant for evening meal.

I have just dined in the resturant on a buisness trip. The food was exceptional and extremely tasty but what made the experience was the customer service of our waitress Kadija. She was extremely professional and friendly and made the whole dinig experience more enjoyable. I wish all meals out were like this.

Rara vez comemos en el hotel en el que nos alojamos y no sé por qué elegimos comer aquí, pero estamos muy felices de haberlo hecho, ¡dos veces!

El desayuno tenía una buena variedad y estaba delicioso. Por la tarde comí dos comidas aquí. El Gnocchi era muy sabroso, con un sabor de champiñones que recorría todo el plato con chips de halloumi muy bien cocinados. La hamburguesa que tenía también estaba muy bien cocinada y lo disfruté.

We held our wedding reception at Hornton Grange in October 2018 and we had the most amazing day. The venue is perfect for a wedding - Hornton Grange and the grounds are beautiful, the bedrooms in Hornton are exceptionally comfortable and luxurious and the Edgbaston Park Hotel can accommodate the rest of your guests. The staff were really accommodating of our wishes in preparation for the day and the reception ran like clockwork. Nothing was too much trouble. All of our guests commented on not just the quality of the food but also the excellent service. Thanks to the hardwork and foresight of everyone at Hornton Grange on the day. Hornton Grange has only recently re-opened after a major extension to the University's conference facilities and to provide the level of service that they did for us and our guests was a great achievement. We can't recommend this place highly enough. We simply cannot associate the previous review, with the service excellence we received from Hornton Grange and the Edgbaston Park Hotel on the day.

A new hotel just celebrating its first month, dinner in the Steakhouse is yet to be satisfactorily appealing.

Whilst staying at the hotel we dined in the steakhouse. The food was what you would receive in any top class restaurant.

He sido muy afortunados de haber asistido a un gran número de funciones se celebró en Hornton Grange. La comida es excelente y el servicio de camareros es acogedor y profesional. Hay un pequeño bar separado del comedor principal con un gran número de cómodas sillas y mesas. Volvería a usar este lugar para mis propias funciones privadas.

Lo que un día maravilloso que pasamos en boda de Hannah y Mark el sábado 25 de julio. Hornton Grange fue sencillamente perfecta con sus hermosos jardines y la comida excepcional. We visited for Mother's Day and our party of six thoroughly enjoyed our meal. It was well presented with good quality ingredients throughout. Friendly and attentive staff and a nice setting. My father-in-law wants to return for Father's Day!

estado aquí varias veces, tenía 50 cumpleaños de mi marido hacer aquí también, la comida siempre buena. Ambiente encantador, jardines preciosos si el clima agradable. Sólo pequeña crítica que supongo que es lo cierran alrededor de las 4 en un domingo así que si lo que quieres es una larga tarde pasar allí no puede, ya que está cerca. Supongo que no puedo culpar ya que no queremos trabajar un domingo por la tarde pero es una pena.

Estamos muy agradecidos por su hospitalidad. Había 12 de nosotros en el día de la madre, y mi cumpleaños madres de grande. no estamos montón más tranquilo! El personal es encantador. La comida era precioso y tengo que decir que no nos son de fácil por favor! Todo estaba hecho tan bien y por un precio razonable. nunca nos sentimos presionados a pesar de que era un día muy ocupado para usted y en un día precioso nos sentimos tan privilegio para relajarse en los jardines con un café. Mi mamá tenía un día realmente preciosa, al igual que nosotros. Muchas Gracias!!

He comido aquí dos veces y la comida era bastante adecuada y personal entusiasta. Pero la decisión de cancelar una reserva de grupo porque de nieve nos dejó en un verdadero agujero y tuvimos que recurrir al sector privado a la fianza.

hornton Grange es un tesoro escondido en donde usted puede estar seguro de una comida excepcional. Situado en B'jamón University campus no muy lejos de los jardines encantadores de Winterbourne, Hornton Grange es un hermoso edificio eduardiano donde, los domingos, un asador de tres platos es servido en el invernadero. Los asientos son limitados, pero las mesas son ingeniosamente organizó, en el que los clientes están brindados privacidad. Desde el momento en que nos llevaron a nuestra mesa hasta el momento en que nos fuimos, nos cuidaron tremendamente bien. El personal era amable y eficiente; el ambiente relajado y la comida era excelente. realmente era una de las mejores comidas que he tenido y sin duda el mejor asador. Elegí el sobresaliente glaseado con mermelada casera que era de ensueño como lo fue mi flan. La torta de chocolate de mi compañero estaba igualmente deliciosos - puedo personalmente que convenció que dejaron más remedio una cucharada!
