So disappointed. Arrived at the country Bumpkin cafe on Cycles with friends, for Breakfast this Sunday. Such a idilic location for walking and cycling, then going on to the Tewin classic car show , only to find it’s now closed on Sundays!!! How crazy is that , I managed to talk to the owner, he said he needed more time with his family!!! It’s probably their busiest day of the week, Wow business man of the year. Absolutely crazy decision. I’ll never go there again. You can’t run a business by not opening, sorry but No business sense!!

We stopped on our way back after a Sunday morning lunch. Although we are local it was our first time to visit. We weren't disappointed, friendly service , good helpings and lovely food. We had the halloumi breakfast. Plenty of seating inside and out, although it got very busy while we were there, and looks like lots of easy parking in the stable car park opposite. Really nice spot

Woke up late after a long week and decided someone else was cooking. Found this on the internet and went along. It is set in farmland and part of a large working stables. It is quite pretty in its setting but it is a conversion of farm buildings with a tidy gressy spoon sort of feel. Note for visits it is literally farmland and part of a stables. This is a busy place on country lanes if you have any mobility issues. I went for a large meaty breakfast and a coffee - £12. This is a bit expensive but the food was fresh and tasty. However there was some odd stuff around the food service. The table I was at was not particularly clean and not set at all. Staff bought a coffee with a spoon only - no sugar etc. The staff seemed a bit distracted or distant. These little things Ive marked down for. Perhaps this was an off day - tasty food, though.

I would give a rating of zero if possible...we went in later in the day ( with plenty of time before closing though) there was just one other customer but several staff working. We were completely ignored despite staff going around doing the tables. I had to chase a member of staff to ask about the menu, only to find they didn’t have any alternative milks, by which time after several attempts to try and order (but the other customer receiving easy service) we just gave up. Completely bizarre and a waste of our time - we left and went into town instead - will never go back.

You'll find Bumpkins - the 'country' bit appears to have been dropped - up a muddy lane but not in the middle of nowhere, as it's just across the road from the rural trades/farm shop/stay the night Church Farm complex which includes the nearby Jolly Waggoner pub. Church Farm is apparently in Ardeley, Bumpkins is in Tewin and they are only separated by the rural road, but there you go. Not open even day of the week, cash only, and from the outside it looks tiny but there's a big room out the back and the feel is chintz and cheery. Staff are very friendly, the menu is full of favourites and interesting options for any time of the morning/lunchtime window. Our choices included light lunches of a hearty halloumi salad with plenty of variety in the greens and seeds area, and the best ham, egg and chips I've had in years - a big slap of cut like butter ham, two gorgeous eggs and just enough chips to add to the jollity - very much the third ingredient rather than the huge helping so many establishments exist on.

This was good, very simple food. No vegetarian breakfast option apart from the egg and beans. Seemed nice quality, tasty and very reasonable price - we didn't wait long and the staff were friendly and competent. I deducted a star because my husbands eggs on toast only had one egg (should have been called egg on toast as then he could have ordered extra). Also they didn't have any other milk than full fat cows. I wouldnt deduct a star for that as I get the desire for a simple menu but i feel like one milk alternative could have been on offer.

Came here on a Sunday morning, ordered breakfast (toast, scrambled eggs, mushrooms and baked beans) and paid straight away. After waiting for about 20 minutes and noticing that a couple of cyclists who had come in after us had already been served their meal, I asked a member of staff and was told that there were still some orders ahead of us in the queue. After another 20 minutes, the cyclists had left and another family came in who were also served their meal promptly while we were still left waiting. When we finally got our food my husband complained about the long wait and was given a different reason -- the mushrooms had taken a long time to prepare. We won't be back.

Lovely visit yet again today to Bumpkins ,there is always such a warm welcome and lovely relaxing environment , tea with real tea leaves and strainer, like my Nan used to always use and old fashion crockery and spoons and tea pot with a lovely tea cozy, all adds to such a wonderful experience of the 'good old days' and the scrummy large tea cakes are delicious , the surroundings of the Tea shop is also beautiful set in Tewin off a little country lane surrounded by fields, next to a stable with horses regularly trotting to and from their homes , it's a real get away from busy life and makes you feel like you have really got away to the country life for an hour or so , I would highly recommend this tea shop ,and the venue upstairs, which can be hired for parties, it is just a beautiful place to visit xxx

Pretty interior. I liked the eclectic decor, and small touches. Real tea comes in teapot with tea cosy and strainer. It’s located at a farm, we went when it was raining, so interior of car got muddy from our shoes. Nice menu, but service was very slow. We waited about 40 mins for scrambled eggs with smoked salmon on toast, and it was lukewarm. However I do believe a lot of people came in at the same time, but they do need to improve the service. Lots of other tables waiting long time too, and orders were a bit hit and miss. I will try one more time and hopefully this was just an off day because I liked the menu choices and ambience.

Located down a small country lane but easily found. Went here for lunch for the first time. Very quaint and old fashioned decor. Food is basic but very good. Had goats cheese and caramalised onion pizza which was extremely tasty. Other food coming put looked good too. The entrance to the restaurant has about 4 tables and there is a large back room dining area which is very old fashioned but clean. Was a bit cold too. Outside there is seating and tables which will be very nice in summer especially after a walk through the surrounding countryside. A very typical, simple, British cafe. Would recommend it.

The best breakfast around! All the products are locally sourced and are of outstanding quality. The guys that run the place really make you feel at home, extremely friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The service is fast, the food is exceptional value given the quality. The wild food nights are also well worth a try, although make sure you're hungry before you go in!

We like treating ourselves with a cooked breakfast every now and then and this is one of our favourites. The price is good but what stands out is the high quality of the food. One of the best sausages I have ever had. It is also in a real nice country location and you can sit relax and watch the horses come and go to the stables.

I love the place. Family run business with home made cuisine. This includes jams and tea and coffee made with water from the well out the back! Locally sourced ingredients cooked to perfection. The family are wonderfully, friendly people who made you feel extremely welcome and valued as customers. Decor is quaint and oldy worldly.

Had high tea here with 5 friends. Variety of super sandwiches, scones and wonderful cakes. We had proper leaf tea served in teapots with tea cosies and served in China cups. Absolutely fabulous. Good friendly service and nothing was too much trouble. The decor in the restaurant is like someone's front room - perfect. There is also a small farm shop. Tucked away down a twisty road, it is well worth a visit.

Lovely, cute, old farm housey tea rooms. Yummy cakes (scones with cream & jam!) and a good selection of herbal teas. My parents have also been here for a foraging night, trying all sorts of rustic food :-)

Had a family afternoon tea in rustic country surrounds. Plenty of tea and quality home made food. Catered willingly for dietary needs. Pleasant friendly staff in a fantastic setting, on a busy livery.

Three of us went to this beautiful Tearoom on a Friday at around 2.30pm. They provide a good range of food, including breakfasts. We chose to have the cream tea. The scones were fresh, the jam and clotted cream were the tastiest we've eaten...and lots of it ! Having a quality jam, not one out of a plastic pot and abundant cream really does make the cream tea extra special. We had 2 large cappuchinos, the coffee blend was delicious ! We also had an earl grey tea. The tea is loose tea and comes in a pretty little teapot complete with tea cosy to keep it warm. They offered to fill the teapot up again for no extra cost. The owners were very welcoming and friendly and I love the idea that this is family run. The prices are very reasonable and there is plenty of easy free parking opposite. The teashop itself is in a lovely country setting amonst fields and stables. There are plenty of tables with lots of space between them and the interior country styling was beautiful and enhanced the experience. The food and drink is served in beautiful delicate china. The food is locally sourced and by what we saw from others it really looked fresh and high quality. We would not hesitate to recommend this lovely country teashop and we will certainly be going back again......we must try the breakfasts !! Thank you for a lovely afternoon treat !

I cant believe I live 10 mins from this lovely little Gem of a place! and only found it last year! If you want a cream tea & dont want to drive to Devon then visit the Country Bumkin!! If its a dry day sitting outside is great! With the surrounding farms & country side it actually feels like you are in Devon!!! Apart from the delicious food, I love the crockery & knitted tea cosie's!! All knitted by a local lady! It feels like you are having tea with your Grannie!! I havnt had a breakfast but know people who have & apparently thats fab too!!! The staff are lovely & friendly too which is so nice as i have visited places where staff not so good & that spoils it & more importantly is not good for business as I dont go back!!!I recommend The Country Bumpkin!!

This tearoom has the most scrumptious cakes. Everything is homemade and the place is lovely and clean. Love their breakfast sandwiches too!

After lunch here today with ourc17 month old grandson I was told there was no baby changing table in the toilets (it's advertised as a family friendly pub)so as a 68 year old grandmother I had to change my grandson on the FLOOR of the disabled toilet.I then disposed of his UNSOILED nappy(it was just wet) wrapped it over and place it in the flip lid bin in the toilet) The manager then came over to me and informed me in front of a FULL restaurant to remove the DIRTY nappy from the toilet bin and takecit home"We are a pub"we do jot have baby changing facilities"???.It was not dirty and I felt humiliated in front of the other diners.I shall not return.

Came here to watch the rugby, the setting is great loads of tv’s showing a large selection of sports. A good selection of pints. We stayed on after the match for some food, had a decent burger but the nachos were shocking
