Excellent beer & Excellent service from Rosie & pip. As a person who works in hospitality, I believe this establishment still contributes to the `pub` establishment. Very friendly.

good find this one the prices where better than across the road and the atmosphere was nicer too good sports bar high ceilings astatically inside it was very nice. only thing that put's it down is because it felt like one of the staff members was abit passive aggressive towards us.

The staff are very welcoming it's a comfy venue for any age and pukka beers at a reasonable price I'd highly recommend 👌

Very disappointing trip to the counting house today. Firstly let me say the manager is doing a good job and the staff are doing a great job but the new food menu here is appalling. Pizza, toastie or soup? Told this is a trial for 6 months. Feels like greene king have lost interest in this pub and instead of giving it the much needed investment the bar needs they seem to want to make it worst

Booked a table for 3 due to an accident on the motorway attempted to call them 26 times no answer When I booked the table I was asked if there were any special requests I mentioned that one of the party had a gluten intolerance When we arrived and saw the menu there were no gluten free options I asked at the bar and was told it was not their fault they did not write the menu Absolutely disgusting customer service I will not be booking with again

Have used the Counting House as our base for Tigers home games for many years - always been well looked after, particularly recently as the management and staff go the extra mile during the busy pre-match period. Menu has been reduced which doesn’t seem to make sense.

We had food from another place and we got told to leave when we was outside. The place wasn't even busy as it was just turning 12:30.

Food choices limited to pizza or soup of the day, didn't stay and went nandos instead

Disgusting place at present, 1 other customer in , this place has become a sports pub, no thanks we have popped in for food,:- Only soup, bread roll and butter ,pizza mostly for meat eaters, no other food . U will loose custom here, u don't have football or Rugby every day . If sports pub -up should have pool tables, etc .No snack food . Don't ever come here,again ,for food . Not plates, no cutlery, more of a takeaway . It is lunch time ,- Dead . Not recommending ,this place ever again

Excellent visit . They have a pool table and darts board,Good selection of beers and drinks and service with a smile from Roz and Kim behind the bar.

Only one draught beer on,Deuchars IPA and that wasn't good so won't be re-visiting

Excellent for meeting up with friends, staff very friendly. Have previously been for food and drinks on other occasions and was very good.

What a fantastic find!! Great sports pub. Lovely food, nice cold beer and amazing staff! Pool table, free darts and a games corner all made the experience more entertaining. Outside seating wonderful with all this sun we've been having. Can't fault the place and looking forward to next weekend when I can return for one of their amazing burgers!! Highly recommend

Staff are absolute diamonds, had the best day of my life in there, great burgers for a reasonable price. If you are ever in Leicester you should visit definitely A☆☆☆☆☆

Always looking to go somewhere new with my great Dane marble , , a lot of pubs say they are dog friendly but don't have anything to feed your dog with separately, or say the only way you can have sausages is to buy the full £17 sausage meal (I'm talking about you pub in birstal) , , ,or some other pubs restrict the area of the pub that you can take your dog , like just the bar area and you can't sit down for a meal with your dog , , , , not so at the counting house , , , the hostess Georgina was brilliant, we could all sit where we want and enjoy our meal and dog water in a bowl brought to our table too, , we went on a Thursday night and had a very cheap chicken platter each with barbecue sauce for £6 a head , couldn't fault it and will certainly be back for more , thanks , lee.marble

I have been to the pub and the food was lovely and the service even better. I have met Georgine and she was lovely and very greenly and she made the night more enjoyable

Great service from Ros and Kelly , great food , highly recommended . Great choice from the menu and plenty of beers wine ciders and shorts to choose from , all at reasonable prices.

An ode to a pub… If you haven’t visited the counting house yet - poor you! Beers range from “I can drink this all night” to “I need to call in sick tomorrow”, the bar staff’s banter is crispier than your Nan’s favourite comeback, and they’re friendlier than a Labrador at a BBQ. Sports are always on the tellys so you’ll never miss a goal, but if your team are loosing there’s plenty seating outside where you can wallow in self pity looking on whistfully at the bingo hall dreaming of what you could spend your winnings on if you were there instead of in the pub. But let’s face facts, no one wins at bingo - have a beer instead.

Visited 12th may. Best fish n chips in Leicester, you should do an option for a larger size fish. It really was beautiful, crisp, fresh 🤌🏾🤌🏾🤌🏾. The person who served us our food and drinks with the tattoos, she was the best customer service experience I've ever had ngl. Overall 10/10 compliments to the whole establishment

I really liked this place, I visited it with my friends and we had a fantastic time. Unfortunately, the parking was very bad for us since my friend and I received a ticket of 60 pounds for the parking, although we registered the license plates of the cars at the bar and they told us We could leave it, there is in Morrison it was very bad for us but hey, we have to look for another pub

Was some items not available on the food menu the young lady did offer some substitutes that we had and she was very polite and tried to accommodate us as best she could

Your usual typical new pub look,with cheap food (looks good), also reasonable drink prices. Friendly Staff. A good starting point, as it's close to Leicester Tigers ground.

I was in the area and thought the pub looked really nice. Found the staff to be so friendly, who made me feel very welcome. I liked the food. I ordered the chicken strips and wings. Really nice for lunch. Portion was very generous. Next time in the area I will definitely pop back in.

Fantastic pub with fantastic and friendly staff. My brother had a bad turn which resulted him collapsing and the staff was straight over and the way they handled the situation especially with having a medic on site was nothing short of incredible. Couldn’t recommend this friendly, good vibes and great staff pub more😀

purchased a burger and drinks voucher via Groupon - friendly service, food came to order. Slightly better than expected although can still only give an average Personally, I wouldn't return but for a cheap lunch this was passable

Quite pricey, but convenient for the match... I will change this if I end up getting charged for parking, even though I registered my car at the bar.

Popped in here to have a coffee and do some work while waiting for my wife. Coffee machine out of order but was made a decent tea. After my first cup was finished, the man behind the bar kindly came and gave me a complimentary second tea. Thanks! The kind of service that makes you want to come back.

Went for a meal with friends. Fairly empty but didn't put us off. Food order took some time to come but was very hot and very tasty. All 3 of us enjoyed our different meals. Disappointed that there was no tea or coffee available when ordering. Was told machine was out of action so had to have cold drinks. Found that another customer was served got tea just before we finished our meal and was frustrated but didn't say anything as preparing to leave. Staff very helpful but wait for meal was a little to long at nearly 30 minutes. We will visit again.

Popped in for a quick bit of lunch. The staff were slow to serve and more interested in their own conversation than they were in engaging with us. Asked for Coke with no ice but with lemon which they didn't manage to get right, presumably because the server was still focused on their own conversation. When the food did arrive, it was very tasty and the server was much more engaging.

We arrived before opening and as it was so cold we were let in. On discovering that food wasn't served until 12 the manager told us she would get the chef to start as soon as he could when he came in. We decided to take a walk to the King Power.. and if it wasn't for the service and friendly atmosphere of the manager we may not have come back.. but we did. Great value and service!

Came here for Christmas Day Lunch and the food and service was impeccable. Elaine the manager was on the ball but very relaxed and made sure everyone was happy, the bar staff were attentive as well. So a great experience was had.

Food is nasty 😒 hhey need to look for a new chef ASAP. Food on the menu sounds delicious, but the chef can't pull a simple menu out. Leicester college is over the road....they do catering ,food,chefs ect...employ a chef from the college. The staff were very nice ,polite,no complaints there.I felt sorry for the bar staff having to bring that cringe Food out.

We went to the counting house we 25 people for a festive lunch food was really good and they look after us really well one of the people had a medical problem and the management look after them really good will go again soon

It's a big city centre pub very close to the rugby ground. It was packed but we were served in a reasonable time, we ordered 3 pints and a juice and got 5 pints hey ho. It was an hour before kick off we ordered 4 steak and ale pies, they came in 20 mins, which was impressive given the volume, the food was good for a regular pub. Very good value too (compared to West Berkshire)

Very disappointed came her over the other sister pub 100m away for a Sunday roast as that brand don’t do Sunday roasts. Turns out they forgot to defrost the meat from night before so no roast then thought oh I will have a ale turns out no guest ale and a green king pub with out any green king ether and then took 40 min for food when there is 14 people in the pub.

I loved it the staff was was very kind had some jokes Food was brilliant lots of entertainment with all the different tv's

We arrived around 5.15pm to get food before heading to the lioness game at the stadium, after quing for ages (to be expected) we got to the bar and tried ordering food! 6 meals! Lots on the menu unavailable! we ordered and was told there was an hour wait for food (as it was busy was to be expected and that was fine) 1hr 45mins passed we asked one member of staff about food who told me he would find out we never saw him again, we asked another member of staff who told us it was coming in a couple of mins, another 10 minutes passed so we are now at just under 2 hours waiting for food with 2 very hungry children and they bring out 3 adult and 1 children’s meal when questioned we was advised they would again go and check how long rest of food would be, again we never saw that lady again, after getting fed up of waiting for the other 2 meals my friend went to the bar and got a refund on the 2 missing meals, there was no apology and she was met with complete rudeness!

First visit to this venue. Although we got here early, it was the evening of Lionesses football so progressively got very busy. Food quality excellent. & prices. We would like to thank the Scottish lady serving the meals, great patience, kept us informed and a smile along the way. Hope the rest of the evening went well Thank you

Worst place we've been to, both male and female toilets stink the food was disgusting meat tough as old boots gravy like jelly food has definitely been previously cooked and reheated even the kids didn't eat their food definitely won't be visiting again

The barmen were very helpful and placed the rugby on that I wanted to watch. Very friendly & welcoming atmosphere.

Went for breakfast before Radio 2 Party in the Park. Lady behind the bar, didn't get her name, was very helpful and chatty. Food was quick and well cooked, we made some amendments and they were spot on.

I am gluten intolerant and lactose intolerant and Shakira answered all my questions that I asked and even checked all allergens information for me what an absolutely beautiful lady couldn't of felt more welcome and comfortable and thank you ro the chef lady for coming out and talking to me she was brilliant to thank you to both of you

Great value meals with Friendly and efficient Staff, well worth a visit.

Came for lunch after shopping at Morrisons which is just nearby. Had a drink and scanned the menu and didn’t find anything that took my fancy. The restaurant seemed a little tired and in desperate need of a lift. In the end we finished our drinks and went to the McDonald’s nearby instead.

Since new management has taken over the atmosphere has improved and the quality of the food and service has improved tremendously.

Went on 5/8/23 for mine n my sisters birthday..enjoyed the food, staff were friendly enjoyed a couple of games of pool whooped by my lad

Food was amazing we had soup and gammon twice for £11. The gammon was cooked perfect and the soup was lovley and hot. Very clean and polite staff

Unfortunately this is the first time visiting this pub and most likely the last the food was not fantastic I had a vegetarian burger although I wanted salad and they didn’t have any the burger was overcooked and the edges where hard as rock no salad on the burger apart from lettuce and no onion rings as advertised there where 5 people eating in total the fish & chips where fine so I was told but the steak & ale pie was dried out and was not enjoyable also my 3 year old granddaughters plate was burning hot which is ridiculous to give this to a young child I ordered 2 lots of drinks at the bar as black coffee was not on the menu which is odd as I later learned they couldn’t serve latte’s as they had no milk and no one offered to bring them to our table even though when we booked I told them I was partially sighted not a great experience and a bad end to my sons 22nd birthday which is such a shame neither I or my 70 year old mum get out very much due to disability’s

24/06 Sadly most been a bad day, or just not what I know of a Greene king, I was hoping for the sizzler plate menu b seems this pub offers a very cut down option. Pub owner was friendly and nice for taking a order Local feel to the pub and felt Out of place as not a regular. Run down and “sticky” feel to the place. Un kept in a lot of places and dust of a lot of fixtures and fittings Meal was supposed To be Cumberland sausages in giant Yorkshire but got a thin lomg German style sausage in bland taste and presentation. Sausage was not a great substitute and felt I was not getting a real sausage meat replacement of quality. Pub food = cheap but you still expect standards and overall feel. Cheap don’t mean you have to not enjoy Would not recommend

The 2 ladies who served us with our food and drinks were excellent and so friendly and welcoming. We had a burger and a kebab, and both were lovely and good value for money. Would definitely return.

came in for a family lunch, staff very friendly and informative about the menu (Ros and Vicky) ordered a burger for myself. build your own burger option is very good value for money. food was perfectly cooked and tasty. Will definitely be returning.

Had a fish shop platter overcooked fish and sausage in batter not the best.also when Leicester city or Leicester tigers are at home price of drinks go up not fair if you are popping in for a couple of drinks. Not Happy.
