We had an amazing meal at The Cornish Pie Company. The Steak and Ale Pie was a 10/10—handmade right in front of you, and the unlimited gravy was delicious, even for someone like me who doesn’t usually enjoy gravy. My daughter loved her chicken goujons, although she was surprised by the unique Korean-style batter. My son’s Teriyaki wings were also a hit, with the whole family diving in. The only downside was the lack of BBQ sauce, but ketchup worked fine. We can’t wait to return and try the Korean BBQ wings next time!

Amazing pies and great local knowledge on the historic bude tunnel. Insightful and delicious. The highlight of our trip to bude. 10/10 would recommend.

I ordered the sticky chicken fries and they were sooo good I defo recommend them they are the tastiest thing ever ☺️ awesome

Great staff really welcoming and nicely set dining ,the food ,was spot on, I had buffalo chicken bao buns, cheesy chips and my daughter had the stickey chicken chips that she gave a 10/10 or that's good going as she has never rated any dining that before lucky to get anything out of her. I'll definitely be returning..

Hungry and thirsty and found this little gem by chance and they allowed dogs. Perfect!!! Fantastic coffee, really tasty cheese and onion pasty and the pork and apple pie was one of the best! Very friendly and welcoming from the time we entered till the time we left. Thank you!!!

I had pie, chips and gravy to takeaway for lunchtime. It was absolutely delicious. The gravy was thick, rich and full of flavour (plenty to go round too.) The pie filling was generous, tasty and fresh ingredients. The gentleman who served me was really friendly and welcoming. A gem of a place and I'll definitely be returning to try their evening menu.

Found this place by chance as we were looking for something other than your standard fish & chips or sandwich etc. We were running late for lunch but wanted a snack so decided to share 2 dishes between 3 of us as we had a big evening meal planned. The service was brilliant and nothing was too much bother. We ordered a salt & chilli chicken fries & teriyaki prawns fries. The food was freshly cooked, delicious & very generous on the prawns. We will definitely be going back to try some of the other dishes. Very pleased we stumbled upon this place & dog friendly as well what more can you want.

Stumbled across this super little cafe whilst on a little solo break. I was craving a pasty and it did not disappoint! Service with a smile, chilled vibe, lovely food and dog friendly. Give it a go!

First class Local and hand made food lovingly prepared by great cooks serving high quality and delicious tasting food . Reasonably priced and licensed and highly recommended either for snacks and drinks or for great lunches during the day and switches to an evening bistro during summer season. Food can be eaten in or take away.

lovely place and a nice atmosphere the service was absolutely brilliant and would definitely recommend. only a short walk from the beach too! opposite is a nice ice cream place which was perfect for a little sweet treat afterwards

Stumbled on this place looking for fish & chips with family, didn’t look like much but we thought we’d give it a try, the amazing waitress explained they have a street food ethos, but as we had the two not so adventurous kids they said they would knock up normal for them. The food, wow, just wow, it was amazing, my wife tried a bao bun with teriyaki chicken, fab, kids fish & chips, fab, no mushy peas but gravy that will knock your shocks off. Saw people uming & are hung at the window I wanted to grab them and pull them in, do yourself a favour and eat here!! It’s only a small place so if you see a table grab it (although you can take away too) lastly we wanted 3 Fudge brownies for dessert, but their was only 2 left so the chef knocked us up a batch of fresh doughnuts. This is how eating should be done, plus they have games to play whilst you wait.

Outstanding pies!!! As it was a lovely evening we got a couple of steak and ale pies to takeaway; after just a few bites I knew I’d be going back for a second pie! Usually your run of the mill pies have a few bits of meat topped up with lots of gravy - not these pies! The pies are stuffed with tender steak that is just delicious. To top it all off the service is brilliant and incredibly friendly. We will be back!!

We had a takeaway ‘ apparently ‘ loaded beef brisket with king prawns and chips. What a worthless portion literally a handful of chips, handful of small prawns. And a very small piece of brisket £14.95 really !!!!! And this is for takeaway. Seeing the portions being served to sit down customers was completely opposite ends of the scale considering we paid the same price

Well we came to Cornwall for the pasties but it's all about the pies!!!!! hubby had a big old fat beef brisket pie my hubby can eat but even this pie beat him! never seen my hubby drewl over a pie smell Delicious look Delicious and tasted amazing well done Gareth and team would strongly recommend visiting this place if your in the area! was also lovely to have a drink at our hotel with Mr pie man himself lovely chap. becky & dave

A fabulous meal in a lovely setting. Two of us tried the special of fish and chips, street style and it was amazing! The staff were very friendly and helpful and the restaurant was also dog friendly which made Fifi very happy 😊

What a fantastic evening hosted by Gareth. We both had pies (Steak and Ale & Spicy Chicken and Chorizo) and they were amazing. This is a small bistro and you need to book well ahead. So worth it.

Visited here with my better half and it was a great experience from start to finish. The friendly welcome made us feel like regulars, good atmosphere and back ground music complimented the engaging, informative team members who were looking after everyone. Everything here is sourced locally, from the meat in your pie and fish on your dish to the larger and even the rum! If you’re in the area, book yourself a table.

I had the vegetarian /vegan pie. Never tasted anything like this before. It was like eating a roast dinner in a pie. Full of taste and mouthwatering pastry. Possibly the most delicious pie I've ever eaten. If I had room I would have eaten more. I definitely have to come back to eat here again the next time we are in Cornwall.

Credit where its due, the food was amazing, great selection of local produce (only use / sell products within 30 miles), extremely accommodating to a group of four with two dogs and nothing was too much trouble (nice fresh water for the dogs on a hot day).Lovely little eatery and well worth paying a visit.

Went here tonight with my wife, 2 boys (8&4) and my in laws. We booked a month in advance as read good reviews on here.To say we are stuffed would be an understatement, we all had a really great evening.Gary from Devon (lol) was an absolutely brilliant host. He was really friendly, funny and great with the kids. He was very flexible with the menu and talked us through the options.French Charlie was great as well as cockney Steve. The team made the evening very fun.We shared a mixed starter of pate, scotch egg & holumi. So much food and really tasty.For main 3 of us had steak and ale pie with mash and 1 had chicken pie. The kids had mac & cheese and steak pie.Everybody was impressed with the quality of the food. Extremely good value for money.The pie was rammed with steak and Gary kept bringing us as much gravy as we wanted.We come from the black country and are blessed to have the pie factory near by. This place blows the pie factory out of the water.Would go here again and 100% recommend. Very small, only 4 tables, but if you can get in and you like pie get yourself booked.Thanks Gary, Charlie & Steve.See you in 2022 :-)

From start to finish an enjoyable experience. Staff very friendly, fun and helpful, went the extra mile with effort making up cocktails and advising on menu. Food was excellent, one of the best we have been in to in Bude. Great touch of games on tables for diners. Dog friendly, Fergus the pooch was well catered for too!!.Would highly recommend and would definitely go back!.Keep up the good work guys.

A warm welcome from the moment we arrived. Staff are very friendly and for me it felt like I wasn't just a customer I was treated more like a friend being invited around to dinner. A fantastic experience and of course the pies are amazing. My two young children loved the fuss and attention. I'd go back again if visiting Bude in the future. 5 stars for me.

Excellent pies and fitted us in last minute with no fuss. Very friendly service with a knowledgeable, passionate waiter. The pies are amazing and very well presented and the desserts were also to die for! Dog friendly as well :).

All the food is soooo nice, and the chips are to die for, all local and drinks too, if you haven't been there yet get there.

The food is out of this world, with the homely welcome you receive, kids are not a problem for the owners that will honestly do anything to make you have a great experience and leave totally full and the Rum hot chocolate with local Rum finished the meal off to a T. Recommended to everyone not to be missed.

We had a fantastic meal here while on holiday in September. Amazing food, fantastic service and catered for our three year old. Best pie we have ever had! Cant wait to visit again next year.

Its easy to see why this is one of the best places to eat in Bude , we had an absolutely amazing meal. Friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic host, nothing was too much trouble. The pies, mash and gravy were stunningly good, didn't want it to end! Leave room for puddings, the sticky ginger pudding and chocolate cake were delicious. Good selection of local beers and drinks. Can't recommend this place highly enough, if you are anywhere in the area you have to go!

I challenge anyone to find a better pasty or pie. In my view the filling is important but the pastry has to be right and the team here have nailed it. Awesome. Friendly and good conversation too. Thanks.

Our last night in Bude, we struggled to find places to eat that weren't fully booked or just served average and boring fare, so we opted for takeaway, we were staying 10 min away so phoned up, ordered and went there for the expected time. Staff were very friendly, décor fun and interesting, food being packed as we arrived.Our only reason not to give 5/5 was that we were given the wrong order, although the two roast chicken and one cheese and potato, (husband felt the mash with the cheese and potato pie was a bit too much, well mash). Although the pies were tasty, made even better with bit of chili jam it wasn't what we ordered and husband was disappointed that he didn't get to try the steak and ale and I didn't the chicken and chorizo. The gravy was also good, but they may want to ask customers in future, as one portion was more than enough for the three of us.I hope whoever got our order enjoys it, we should have really checked.

Visited the Cornwall Pie Company as a guest of one of their regulars (Malcolm). The food was second to none, the ambience was perfect. A warm and welcoming host and chef, both with a passion for local food and drink.The daily specials are special as they are what the local farmers or fishmongers have recommended.I recommend booking and trying this fabulous gem of a place as you will be back for more. I certainly will be eating all the pies if I can

We visited last night having been fortunate enough to get a reservation. The food was outstanding and they clearly concentrate on what they do best although there were sufficient choices for anyone. The pies were excellent (winners of national press awards) and all the starters and puddings very good. Everything was freshly made that day and cooked to order and the Cornish provenance of ingredients something to be proud of.The camaraderie between Gary and Steve was lovely and we were made to feel very welcome without feeling awkward as there were only three tables in the restaurant. We had a great laugh! The Cornish Pie Company deserves its number 1 rating for restaurants in Bude and we look forward to coming back next year!

We planned on ordering a takeaway from here following a long day's travelling. But we ended up eating in - and we are so pleased that we did. Firstly (and importantly) they were very welcoming to us all - including our dog. It is a small intimate eatery which helps to give it its lovely cosy atmosphere. The host is super friendly and takes time to talk to everyone at each of the 5 or so tables. His knowledge of gins was superb and I made sure to sample a couple as recommended by him. The food was a little slow to arrive but it was worth the wait. My son raved about the chicken wings and his pizza looked (and he says was) extremely delicious. I chose the chicken pie which was very very tasty, delicious mash and crispy parsnip wafers, and the best gravy. My husband had the steak and ale pie and was equally impressed. We liked it so much we plan to eat there again on our last evening on holiday. Wasn't sure how to rate this on price, but for 3 meals as described, four alcoholic drinks and a soft drink it was £65. not sure if that's classed as cheap eats or mid range but we thought it was excellent value for money anyway.

Had dinner here earlier in the week, we were lucky to get a table as the restaurant is very popular. We were given a very warm welcome and shown to our table. We both had the Scotch Egg starter which was amazing followed by different pies, served with mash and gravy. The pies were the best we have ever tasted with lovely creamy mash with plenty of amazing gravy. We shared the choc fudge dessert which was served with clotted cream, this was really yummy and was just enough as we were pretty full. The service was very friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We also sampled some of the local beers which were good.Overall this was best meal we had on our holiday and is well worth trying to get a table, we will be coming back when next in town.

Initially ignored this restaurant, a pie shop? How wrong I was! Fortunately looked at some reviews and pictures and booked.Friendly welcoming host who knew all about their food and drink, the suppliers. Enthusiasm was great. The food was amazing. Best Scotch egg starter ever and wonderful battered halloumi. The pies and gravy we're like no other I've ever come across. Brilliant.Managed to squeeze in an excellent Ginger pudding.All that and drinks, very good value.Recommended

Although only small this restaurant is fantastic. Gary made us feel very welcome and it was wonderful to hear how enthusiastic he was about the local produce he uses. Instead of a pie we opted for a fish supper off the specials. My partner does not do spice so was a bit concerned as the batter on the pollock had curry powder, garlic and paprika but as Gary said it was light and my partner loved it. They also have a local lady who bakes the cakes for them and again my partner can testify to the deliciousness of them. We had a fantastic meal, the company was great, including Steve the wonderful chef and a local builder (sorry did not catch name). We went to get pies to take home and again Gary went out of his way to accommodate us. If you get the chance to book a table here, take it and you won't be disappointed.

Wow...what a lunch. Steak and ale pie packed with large chunks of beef. Had it with roast potatoes and roasted vedge. Top quality ingredients..will be going back again in the next few days!

Walking past this shop come restaurant in the evenings,nobody would know the delights it offered. A wonderful host who made you feel at ease in seconds. We opted for the specials and wow they were special. All food was locally sourced and beer and cider a plenty. Thankyou for a wonderful few hours, just make sure you leave your white shirts at home.

A small restaurant with fantastic home-made pies and a terrific sausage & mash. The gravy was superb. The gins were wonderful! And all at a reasonable price. Highly recommended.

We visited here on 16 Sept and shared scotch eggS a starter - delicious. I had the trio of sausages with scrumpy chips and a deep fried egg whilst my husband had the chicken pie. Lovely tasty food and would go back in a flash if we weren’t booked in to other places. Good value for money, with a great selection of beers. We ordered some pies and scotch eggs to take home.

Small local business using locally sourced produce. Run by lovely friendly guy. The pie was one of the best I have tasted. Was served with mash or chips and a pea and mint puree and gravy. Well presented very tasty. If staying longer in Cornwall would visit again. They do serve other dishes not just pies but we opted for pies. They sell a range of local beers.

Oh this is something special. Service great and very funny but the food .., what can you say. In London it would cost double and would be booked up for weeks. These boys know what they do best and stick to it. It is a must do. Also their chilli jam is to die for. The rest of the food is just perfect.

We ate here back in early August. A table of 7 with no idea what to expect. The food is incredible and the team are fantastic. Eating here really is a an experience.

After seeing good reviews on this little restaurant we thought it would be worth a visit as close to where were staying, we were not disappointed we were made very welcome given lots of options on local beers the food was very good tried the Steak and Ale pie and the special option both really good. Booking in advance is recommended.

Enjoyed fantastic starters and mains, host was superb, great selection of local drinks. Can not recommend highly enough.

Our second visit in a week - really tasty pies and pasties. We had takeout both times, the first time just the pastie, which were tasty for a beach picnic, while today we had the pies and pasties as take away meals. Everything was delicious, and the two vegetarians were offered veggie gravy which we really appreciated. And a great, warm welcome. If we weren't travelling home tomorrow we would be back again for sure!

Absolutley fantastic evening had here great relaxed family feel kids loved the top trumps, gareth was fantastic so knowledgeable abbout the produce and drinks ..food eaten was amazing chicken and vegetable pie was unreal and the halloumi starter was the best ,scotch egg and the kids food was wonderful nothing was to much trouble. You know when you try somewhere new on holiday and you think that meal was excellent. Good service. Lovely food and friendly. We went the first night of our holiday to Bude and Gareth made us feel at home. We ate out at various places over the course of our week but The Cornish Pie Company stayed in our minds so before we left at the end of the week,we called in while passing to book our last evening meal to round our holiday off. We were not disappointed. Good local beers too.

We were welcomed and made to feel at home straight away. Nothing was a problem and they went out of their way to make our night special. The food was gorgeous, we had starters and Main course. The children loved the staff and the food also and it was a hit with everyone. Booking essential but it’s a sure place to visit if you’re in the area

Fabulous dinner here whilst walking the SWCP! Gareth was the nicest, most knowledgable owner...every restaurant needs someone like him! The food was excellent!! Halloumi to start, Vegetable pie for main and dark chocolate and rum mousse for puds....heaven!!

The Cornish pie company is a must visit in Bude, the Steak and Ale pie and Sausage rolls are amazing. But the best thing is the lovely hot chocolate drinks! A must after a day in the sea pool or on the beach. However if you want to eat there of an evening, then you must book early to avoid disappointment.

Had dinner here last night with some friends. Gareth and his brilliant staff were extremely welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Delicious food and a selection of cornish gins to wash it down! This place has an intimacy and friendliness that is sometimes lacking in larger restaurants. A “must visit” for any holidaymakers wanting to experience a real Cornish welcome. You must book though, as tables are limited. You won’t be disappointed!

What a wonderful place. Gareth was so welcoming and friendly. The food was excellent. I had the vegetarian pie and was not disappointed. Highly recommend, but need to book as extremely popular.

Even though the dreaded virus means only takeaways available at lunchtime (sit in still possible for evening dining) the pies were still worth making a 70 mile round trip for. As always, excellent value for money and a welcome treat for our first proper day out since lockdown. Looking forward to our next visit.

What can I say! If you are staying in Bude, or anywhere nearby, you MUST visit the Cornish pie company! We visited on Saturday 15th August. From the outside, it looks like a small take-away venue, but from the inside there are wooden seats, upcycled cable reel tables and a lovely atmosphere! We were greeted by all of the staff and offered drinks straight away. There is also a selection of games to play. It was the most chilled out place I have ever been to. For starters we had the home made scotch egg and the haloumi fries- oh my god the haloumi fries!!! Absolutely incredible! I could have eaten them again and again! And the scotch egg was gorgeous. For mains we had a steak and ale pie and a roast chicken pie one with mash one chips. Everything was cooked to perfection. The chips were crispy on the outside and fluffy inside and the mash was amazing, and the pies- wow! The waitress came over to have a chat with us and she was ever so friendly, as were the kitchen staff and the owner. We were treated like friends of the restaurant despite never having been before. For all of the food we ordered we ended up spending £37, which for the amount and quality was amazing!The presentation of the dishes is like you’re in a 5* restaurant, absolutely beautiful. Would definitely recommend the Cornish pie company to anyone who enjoys a relaxed atmosphere and a gourmet meal! We will definitely be back when we return to Cornwall again!

As I write this review I’ve just finished my Steak & Ale pastie! I’ve come all the way from London and had to try out a pastie whilst in Cornwall! I had a Cornish pastie yesterday and HAD to get another pastie for my trip back. They were absolute LUSH, beautifully and freshly made and I’ll be dreaming of them now lol, until I hopefully will make my way back to Bude, again. Thanks for a heartfelt service! Love,Ditte x

This was best pie I’ve had outside my nan’s kitchen. The venue is fun, quirky and the staff are some of the loveliest I’ve met on holiday. All locally sourced ingredients and drinks. Definitely worth a visit

This place has the most delicious pies and fantastic service. Gareth is so nice and accommodating and let me add my other half half split two pies together and honestly if you have another person to share a pie with, this is the way to go. You get the best of both worlds and honestly every pie is amazing. You can also play games too while you wait for you food...we had an epic game of Jenga. Great friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend. We've already been twice on our holiday.If you're in Bude, don't miss this place!

Had Cornish pasty take out the day before and were so impressed we booked dinner. We weren't disappointed. Two pies, sausage and chips for a fussy eater and loaded fries (chilli) - just lovely. Local ale, chilly jam, chocolate milkshakes and fantastic, friendly service topped it off. Shame we're only here for a week, could eat out here every night! Totally recommend.

We went twice that we were so impressed. A great selection of food, and not just pies. We tried the chicken and Choriz, Pork in cider and the Steak and Ale pies and they were all delicious, but also they do great pizzas, sausage and mash and sausages with bubble and squeak that were all lovely too, as was the homemade chilli jam! It's great that they support local companies with their drinks too and they coped with the Covid-19 restrictions really well.

It’s been 24 hours since I had chicken and chorizo pie. I can’t stop thinking about it. It is the first Tardis pie I’ve ever had as there was more inside than outside. Stuffed full of filling (and feeling) and delicious to the very last bite. How I shared some with my gf I’ll never know. I’m 74km away and thinking of going back. Just go eat one!

Just had THE best dinner here! Halloumi burger was amazing, my daughter said ‘this is the best pizza I have ever had!’ Pies of course also fab! Won’t even mention the biscoff cheesecake, we are all rolling out of here...haha! Best meal out we have had in a long time, great playlist too...share it on Spotify with us also super covid-safe with only a few tables spaced apart

Visiting Bude for a long weekend and found this place on here... the reviews do not lie, this place has the best pies. Best pie we have ever tasted. Sweet Chilli jam was offered and it was a huge game changer, great sauce to have with a pie. Sticky toffee pudding also great! Thanks guys!

Me and my partner visited on a sunny evening post-lockdown after booking, i had the pork and cider pie after being greeted by a friendly host. The pie, peas, mash and parsnip crisps were absolutely delicious, top pie/pasty i have ever had! A biscoff brownie topped off the meal, all local ingredients and drinks

We had the steak and lamb pasty meals (with roast potatoes veg and gravy) and it was absolutely delicious.

We were visiting Bude looking for somewhere for lunch and saw this place. We were warmly welcomed. The chicken & chorizo pie was very good. We followed that with a gorgeous Cornish cream tea. We would definitely come back if in the area.

Living in Cornwall, people expect you to live on Cornish pasties but they're not for me - but I do love pies and you can't get better than the pies from here! Always a good selection on the menu including my favourite, chicken and chorizo. I usually have them to take away and re-heat later for dinner and never been disappointed. Full to the brim with lovely chunks of meat, proper pastry and if you're hungry, you can add on roast potatoes and veg - perfect!

The food here is far superior than your average pie shop... Great flavours,great taste... Everything from the superb pies to the lovely gravy and veg!!!! Truly an inspiration in a pie!!!!

Stumbled on this little pie shop today.Cosy, and smelled amazing. Rustic feel too.Food didn’t take long, and we were welcomed with a warm and friendly atmosphere.They had a shelf full of board games, which was cool, and kept away the boredom for our daughter.When the food arrived it was amazing, so rich and flavourful. Most of all satisfying and filling, but not any where near expensive.Will go back.

Great little dog friendly venue fabulous home made pies, quirky decor, welcoming staff and brilliant service. The home made chilli jam is a must try.... oh! The milk shakes are delicious too 😊

Found this little gem on a day out with my partner and 2 dogs. Very welcoming and friendly staff.

We popped in to have a coffee when it was raining ... and found The Pie Company in Bude very welcoming, friendly, warm. We decided to taste a Traditional pasty and share one .... then a cheese and onion ... and another two coffees. It stopped raining so decided to go sight seeing. We shall book a table for tonight to taste more pasties and pies. Thanks so much Gareth and Amanda.

Beautiful tasty pies, recommend roast chicken, roast dinner in a pie, who knew! Gorgeous!! Cornish cream tea, warm scones, lush!! Very friendly, host nice guy, very welcoming! Doggies welcome!
