The Corner House in Cardiff

Having walked around Cardiff for ages we spotted this lovely traditional pub and popped in for a sit down. The place was nicely appointed and the staff friendly. We had a couple of cold drinks and then left.

Brilliant service, brilliant food, this is our second year doing an annual trip to Cardiff and due to it being so good last time we went again last night. The floor staff work so hard and it’s so busy but this doesn’t compromise the service. I had a starter as a main which they accommodated due to not having a big appetite. The only downfall we had was my mum had a fillet of pork, which was lovely however the outer part of the meat was incredibly tough, I think it had been overdone. But she ate everything else and only left the tougher part of meat. I had scallops, they were like butter.. so was my sisters steak and my aunt had sea bass, again, beautiful food. Reasonably priced for what it is also, and the drinks were great for cocktails, but as I don’t drink much the non alcoholic cocktails were also super yummy. Can’t wait to see you guys again soon! Also shout out to the bouncers on the door, polite, respectful and gentleman getting the doors for everyone. Thanks guys!

Looks like a traditional comfortable pub which is great. On arrival we needed the loo but the ladies and gents had problems so we were guided to the disabled loo which hadn’t been used for a while. There were cobwebs in it which was quite good considering Halloween was the night before - but it was dirty. I had the soup which was tasteless and luke warm. Carrot and coriander isn’t difficult to make? I had salmon on noodles which didn’t match the description on menu which was chef’s specials. The salmon was big thank goodness as the noodles were a big lump with various other bits and bobs thrown in. Husband had a steak which he enjoyed but all in all £80 was awful. I didn’t say anything as the table next to us had already said their steak was too tough to cut. Not quite sure what happened to their chef last night but he may have had night off

We visited as a family, we were made aware by front of house that there were no bread rolls for any of the burgers, which for a City Centre pub is bonkers. But we decided to have food anyway. We then went up to the bar and we’re refused food as she said they had stopped taking food orders at 2:30pm no reason why. So as we went to leave front of house said no it’s ok I’ve told them to serve you, you the last food orders. So back to the bar to be told that not only do they not have any rolls but there were no Chicken dishes available so that took out about half the menu. Give this place a wide berth.

A relaxed atmosphere with very good food for lunch. The staff were very pleasant and gave us just the right amount of attention

Have tried a variety of dishes off the menu and a variety of drinks and have been amazed each time. Such wonderful food and a lovely vibe in the city centre. Always happy to pay the prices as the food is delicious. All the staff are lovely and helpful. We will definitely return again!

Saturday afternoon. Place look quiet. Didnt book a table. Manager showed us table upstairs. We ordered burger, chicken and round of drinks. Bill was around 48£. I'm try to use my employee discount but didnt work. Unfortunately they told me " you used your discount today" shame. Lucky one of the manager gave me 20% off. Food was ok, FOH bery helpfull. 4 stars seems enough

Excellent dinner and friendly pub atmosphere in the center of town. It is an old building with some charm and the food was even better than we’d hoped. Seafood well prepared! Order at the bar.

Had a lovely experience here, food was great, service by Tia was outstanding. Kaylum was very helpful and the atmosphere was relaxing. Definitely recommend this as a place to go anytime your in the area.

My friends and I went here for bottomless bubbles to celebrate a birthday, Téa our server was attentive and excellent at her job and made sure our glasses were full. The food was delicious! Will definitely be back!

Amazing night out!! From the moment we arrived, it felt welcoming and inviting, we were able to sit where we wanted. The staff were very attentive and able to answer all questions we had about the menu and after an excellent recommendation from kaylum, I chose the pork belly and it was beyond any expectation! I will be revisiting.

I went in for bottomless bubbles, Tea our server was really good and very friendly and she made sure that our glasses were topped up , and the food was amazing ! Will definitely make a back!

Long days shopping this is a great venue for a glass of something, not the cheapest 2x Rose £20 but perfect city centre venue opposite the IVY and between a number of restaurants and other bars, the sun was out and the area set aside for drinks sits in a lovely position.

Nice atmosphere in the pub and despite taking our booking for the restaurant online we were weren't told in advance that the restaurant wasn't open. We did have a table in the pub which was fine, but right next to a loudspeaker and also next to the disabled toilets which was ok but had to shut the loo door a couple of times that someone had left open and the smell wasn't too pleasant when you're trying to eat. The music in the pub as a whole wasn't too loud, but being next to the loudspeaker made conversation quite difficult. Waitress was very friendly and helpful and the food was fairly good if unexceptional. Would return, but not for a meal unless the restaurant was open.

We were served by Kimberly who was great! Explained menu and a few things that weren’t available. Still lots of choice. We had drinks including cocktails and a meal. All delicious and served in perfect time, no rush and no long waits.
