Dropped in for breakfast and wow, was it good. Huge full cooked breakfast complete with slice of toast. This is a very popular cafe and rightly do. Suggest you phone ahead to reserve table at popular times. Well behaved dogs are welcome - handy watering hole if you are planning a day walking the Water of Leith

Popped into here for breakfast, and it was heaving - next time I will book a table. But they squeezed us in. Very varied food on offer, such as full breakfast, veggie breakfast to smashed avocado. Espresso coffee good quality as well. We will go back!

We got here early when they opened and luckily we did within about 10 minutes the cafe was packed. Fast service and delicious breakfast.

Cold May 1st and we'd been walking round Harlaw Reservoir so needed warming up at lunchtime. Saw this café as we drove past and decided to drop in. It was very busy (it was a Bank Holiday!) and full of couples and families with young children so we had to wait a few minutes for a table. The soup and sandwich excellent. Had the coronation chicken panini as a nod to the forthcoming King's Coronation (!) and the staff were just lovely.

Been here a few times and always found the cafe providing an excellent service with an equally great menu which caters for all ages. Staff are very welcoming especially when children are in the company and without a doubt it is more than a cafe, in fact an important part of the community. On this visit I had their Chicken & Sweet Chilli wrap (a bite to the sweet chilli, for anyone reading this and wanting to try it), my wife had the chicken salad bowl which was excellent (as part of my research for this review, I had to knick some) and my daughter had the Chicken & Chorizo tostada which must have been good as I wasn't allowed to try that. My grand daughter had the children's ham sandwich which must have been good as she finished it all. A really lovely little cafe and one which I hope the community really appreciates. Real v

Whole family descended on the corner cafe looking for lunch. 7 of us in total with buggy just to complicate matters. To be on the safe side, we booked in advance and on arrival everything was waiting. We had a wide range of food and everyone was more than satisfied, so much so, we even bought cakes for afternoon tea. Service great, fabulous choice available and full marks all round.

We passed through Currie when looking for lunch and stopped at The Corner Cafe. Great choice: great tasting panini’s, toasties, scones and other lunch dishes and that with a very friendly service. An excellent lunch place.

Been here a few times as they have a good selection of options for gluten free clearly marked on the menu. Even had a gluten free scone which is virtually unheard of in most cafes. Highly recommended 😁

Your recent addition of fresh salads is great. I love the colourful feast for the eyes, the textures of the ingredients, the generous helping, and, for me, the Fermat cheese xxxxx

Dropped in for lunch after a walk in the Pentlands ,Friendly and helpful staff ,I was quite taken with the menu with too many good choices . I settled for the Chicken Fajita Tortilla ,good choice beautifully cooked and well presented. The cafe was starting to get busy when I left about 12.30. I will certainly be back next time I am in the area . This is well worth a look .

I go to corner cafe quite often with my family and normally don’t have a bad word to say about the place. The people are always friendly and the food is great. However, I went this morning to get some breakfast with my nana and we managed to get a table as soon as we walked in as it wasn’t overly busy. We were given menus by a nice woman but sat for 10 minutes without an order taken. The girl taking the orders blatantly ignored us and started serving the other tables who hadn’t even decided what they wanted yet despite us being ready to order for 10 minutes. I’m not sure if it’s a personal issue but if u are in a working environment, you should be polite and professional. We got up and left without ordering as it wasn’t somewhere I felt comfortable sitting. Put off going back again which was once a really nice experience when going for food.

I visited on Tuesday as my parents are moving to the area. The Corner Cafe is warm, inviting and has a fabulous atmosphere. The menu has lots to choose from and is definitely great value. The food is well presented and the portions are plentiful and best of all it tastes delicious. The coffee was of a decent blend and was served piping hot and on a cold day was just what was needed. The staff were all lovely and very professional and you could tell they take great pride in what they do and enjoy there jobs The owner also came out to Chat with us when we had a few questions about the area the lady took the time to happily explain a few things - Thank You A wonderful experience and definitely worth a visit will be back soon.

A great wee community cafe with a smashing range of dishes to suit everyone. 4 adults and a small child (with food intolerances) had a lovely lunch and the intolerance was a mere challenge to be successfully overcome without fuss. Great atmosphere and very good Covid precautions. Only problem was the fact that the NATIONAL Health Service Covid QR code could not be read by the English App reader. Nothing to do with the cafe but all to do with the U.K. disjointed approach to the pandemic.

This is an ideal place for a snack lunch if you are in the area as the menu is very good as is the service and the tasty food.

A great place to relax for a few hours with a friend or family. If you heading up to Balerno for a walk in the hills I highly recommend the Corner Cafe as a stop off for some light refreshment and food fuel!"

We have been to The Corner Cafe many times. It is a great cafe, with a great menu. The staff are always very attentive and it has been great getting back to it and using the takeaway service recently.

Great brunch/ lunch with family here. Chap that served us super friendly, funny and helpful. Nothing too much trouble. Breakfast items for under £5, and plenty of choice. Coffee expertly made and delicious.

I've visited this establishment many times in the past in its previous incarnation as an off licence however this was my first visit to The Corner Cafe. I met a friend here for lunch and we enjoyed our visit. It was quite busy but we managed to get a table even though we didn't have a booking. If I remember correctly I had the nachos and they were reasonably good. I can't remember what my friend had but he seemed to be fairly happy with what he ordered. I'd eat here again.

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and good, reasonably priced food. It's perfect for us and our 6 month old. Can see it becoming a regular spot for a family brunch.

Took my son and his girlfriend for breakfast a should of got a loan before a went very expensive, food ok but prices put me off going again

Nachos para mi mejor medio mejor que cualquiera de nosotros haya tenido en los últimos cinco años. Café mejor que algunos puntos de venta mundiales. El lugar estaba ocupado y no estoy sorprendido. Vale la pena una visita si estás fuera de ese camino.

Solo he oído cosas encantadoras sobre este café, pero al llegar me saludaron con frialdad y me sirvieron un bollo con bicarbonato. Podía escuchar a las meseras cotilleando sobre sus travesuras nocturnas y rupturas dramáticas. decepcionado por la falta de profesionalidad de los empleados. No lo recomiendo

We went for lunch on our second day in Edinburgh. It was a wonderful experience with friendly prompt service. The atmosphere is quite welcoming and the food was very, very tasty!

Hemos estado aquí unas cuantas veces. Te aleja del ajetreo y el bullicio de los cafés normales a los que vamos.Las sopas caseras son geniales, al igual que los rollos de tocino. Mi hermana Maddie tenía panqueques, con tocino y jarabe de arce, su favorito de Rick's in Town. Clientela muy mixta, desde abuelos, abuelos hasta madres y bebés. Incluso vimos a una familia de 3 sentados en el frente bajo la lluvia, porque tenían un perro. Los baños están muy limpios. Los pasteles y los bollos también se ven deliciosos, pero los guardarán para una visita por la tarde.

Este es un café realmente bueno, una gran adición a Currie.

Called in here when we were staying at friends nearby. Had coffees and a couple of pieces of cake which were lovely. Staff very courteous and friendly.

Menú muy amplio, que abarca sándwiches, paninis, papas al horno y desayuno todo el día. No hay problema con los niños pequeños, y de hecho hay buenas instalaciones para ellos. Sin licencia, lo que para nosotros a la hora del almuerzo no es un problema. El servicio, a pesar de estar muy ocupado, fue muy bueno y es agradable ver al personal sonriendo. Lo mejor es reservar con antelación, especialmente en un almuerzo de fin de semana.

Hay tantas cosas buenas acerca de este café que me resisto a dejar cualquier comentario negativo. Siempre espero con ansias los bollos recién hechos aquí. Son absolutamente deliciosos y de tamaño generoso. Mi compañero dice que los de queso son los mejores que él ha probado. Lo mismo puede decirse de todos los otros pasteles, pan tostados y rollos de tocino que tienen para ofrecer. El personal es siempre muy amable y atento. También es muy amigable para los niños, lo que es genial.

Después de un poco de una pesada noche de Navidad en Edimburgo, el desayuno era muy necesario. ¿Qué otra cosa podría ser mejor que los cafés de la esquina durante todo el día el desayuno! Realmente me curó!

Just had lunch with 2 of my kids (who are very fussy!) at the Corner and it was great! Nice fresh food,quick service and the staff all friendly and helpful. Good facilities for kids and out door seats if you have a dog. We''be back.

El café es muy lindo, nos dieron una cálida bienvenida y el servicio fue realmente bueno. Teníamos una sandwichera, que estaba bien. Ya era casi la hora de cierre, que empezaron la limpieza nos hizo sentir un poco incómoda, sin embargo, nunca nos pidió irse. Lo recomiendo si estás en la zona.

Visited here this Sunday and the place was buzzing. A few tables were reserved for lunch so we thought it would be nice to try for eats. Everything is cooked to order and fresh, nice coffee and good traybakes. Very pleasant staff.

Now it really doesn't look like much from the outside but don't judge! Inside it's wonderfuly laid out, very cute and spacious. The food is cooked there and then and great quality, perfect place for breakfast! Great prices too! They do a fab afternoon tea that I'd recommend booking in advance very popular! There's a reading club, very community spirited.

My husband and I popped in here while our car was being serviced,so glad we did,my husband had a fruit scone with a pot of tea,I had a delicious bacon roll with a latte,then I could not resist a cheese scone.We both agreed the scones were delicious.The staff were friendly.Will be back.

Walked along the water of Leith path on a cold, snowy day. Decided on a light lunch from a varied menu. Caters for all ages. Friendly service and good coffees and food. Large windows so nice and bright. Definitely would go again.

Although we have passed this cafe almost daily, we never thought about giving it a try as we were told they only do sandwich/pannini type food. However, on a longer than normal walk down the water of Leith, we decided to have breakfast and the only place open was the corner cafe. In we went to a very busy place that had everything from full breakfast, to baked potatoes, soup, scones and lots of other options. Full of families, couples of all ages, and clearly a local favourite. We had the full breakfast, and thoroughly enjoyed the food. Lovely staff, great service and good prices. As I said already, "what a find". A bit embarrassing given we live in Balerno, but we will definitely be back. Really first class.

Came to this café for lunch and was very pleasantly surprised. Loved the interior and the staff were very welcoming. Our young boy loved the Mr Men books and toys which kept him occupied whilst waiting for our food. I ordered a chai latte which was one of the best I've had certainly better than some high street brands, The food was well presented, very tasty and excellent value for money.

Dropped in for coffee and cake after walking in the Pentland's and the welcome was as warm as it always is. These guys are so friendly and so upbeat. They said they had been busy but were loving it, and they are celebrating there 4th Year in business this year. Wow - I wish all business owners were as upbeat as this.The Cheese Scone I had was served with Cream Cheese and Chutney and was delicious, as was the coffee, and I know my friends were as happy as I was with their choices.

This review is a difficult one for me as I have been to The Corner Cafe on over 5 occasions and have never thought the cafe is 'excellent' which is shame. Staff - The staff are very 'hot or cold'. A number of the staff cannot go far enough to make you feel welcome and pleased however, others are quite rude and clearly don't know how to smile!Food - The food is always very good. I would recommend the all day breakfast or the chicken and chorizo panini - two of my favourites, always cooked well and very tasty. The scones are also delicious and taste very fresh.Premises - The premises are very light and airy although I feel at times it looks and feels a little dirty. The floors are often quite sticky, as are the tables and the menus often look dirty and feel unclean to the touch. We often return as the positives of The Corner Cafe outweigh the negatives - nowhere is perfect and for us this place does what it says on the tin and we generally leave feeling very content.

I stopped here with my sons for a short break. Very friendly staff, tasty coffee and one of the best cheese scones that I've ever had!

A sweet little coffee stop perfectly suited to cyclists. Great coffee and large food servings. The potato skins were particularly good. Very pleasant staff.

Often eat here with my grandchildren as you are made to feel welcome with young children. There are nice kids lunches and appetising treats for afters! Granny has a tasty scone and loves the coffee. There are toys in a corner to keep the kids amused. The staff are friendly and efficient. Give it a visit if you are passing by.

I have been here numerous times and on every occasion it has been excellent.The service is quick and friendly. The place is spotless. The staff even sweep up after kids have been to make sure the floor is clean, and they clean the tables very quickly too.The food is fab and the menu varied and interesting, and ambience is good too.

Driving to Edinburgh we were looking for somewhere to stop off for some food. We saw this from the road side and easily found a car parking space in the side street. We found plenty of options on the menu - I loved the lentil soup and brie and cranberry panini option. It was just what we all needed. All the staff were friendly - especially the gentleman who took our order (and altered the menu to accommodate our daughters fussy taste!). Would definately recommended

Very happy with our visit today. My fussy daughter was catered for with nachos that she enjoyed. Myself and my wife loved the lentil soup. Relaxed decor and friendly atmosphere made for a comfortable visit.

The children were excited to walk to this lovely little corner cafe for an afternoon treat of a drink and cake, despite a rainy day.It was full with the Sunday lunch customers and we got the last table.The friendly waitress came and took our large order of fresh fruit drinks, cup cakes, scones and pancakes.The ambiance is cosy and bright.There were prints on the wall, photos from a local photographer for sale and a local book club meet there regularly.The toilets have a baby change area too.There are two prices for food, one for eat in , one for eat out.Seats and tables are outside when the sun shines.

Having done a huge walk we decided to pop in her for refreshments. The staff were friendly and helpful. The place was so clean and my goodness their selection of sweet things was fantastic! I opted for one of their cup cakes which was delicious but all the other things my friends had were first class too!

Went for breakfast after winning a bet. The bet was who was going to win out of France vs Germany in the Euros (I know a long time ago and Scotland weren't even in it but hey ho) and I won. Wooooo!!!I had the full breakfast. Favourite part: Bacon. Least favourite part: it ended.9 out of 10. Would eat breakfast again. Here.

Friendly café serving lovely home cooked/ baked goods. Soup and scone is a favourite, perfect combination scones are delicious.

I Visit the corner cafe on a regular basis with friends. Have always had great fruit scones, washed down with a fab latte. There is a friendly atmosphere with great staff. Well worth a visit.

We decided not to cook breakfast so ventured out. I have used this establishment before and have never reviewed it, so here goes....The staff are always friendly and happy, the food is always freshly prepared and the prices is always right. They had a Burns Supper last night and in the frenzy of closing late last night and opening up early this morning they have missed bits on the cleaning details but who hasn't!?Would I come again? Friendly staff, quick service and great food!!! There'a an excellent Gluten Free range of mains as well as awesome fresh baked cakes. Service is table service and there's always a nice friendly buzz to the place and somewhere you'll want to come back to!

Past this café while out walking last Saturday and popped in for a quick bite to eat – just a roll and a drink. Coffee was excellent and the breakfast rolls were fresh and tasty. Cheery young staff really brighten up the place and make it a most enjoyable place to spend time in.Returned again today for the full breakfast and again the food was excellent. Unfortunately somebody took ill at a nearby table while we were waiting for our meal. Top marks to the young man who handled it all very well. A great friendly team of staff that take customer service seriously.Will definitely come back to try the lunch menu and the cakes.Keep up the good work.

We visited here this morning after joining the grand children to the nearby Currie library.It opened at 10 am and went in for a quick stop for drinks and cakes.We ordered lemon drizzle, carrot, chocolate Malteser slice, Rocky Road and a fruit scone with juice and coffees.All served by very friendly Mickay.He explained that the cafe was a little local hub for nearby residents and a book club was advertised on the wall.We saw some very nice inexpensive prints of local scenes and saw one we would like for a Xmas presentWifi was available but I could not attach.We will return on another occasion and enjoy a little lunch especially as they do an inexpensive children' s menu for our grand children.Lots of seating both inside and even bistro tables outside.

Great cycle stop, close to Water of Leith path. Enjoyed black pudding and scrambled egg rolls, and lovely hot chocolate and coffee. Friendly atmosphere and efficient service.

Absolutely love this place! Such great food and really friendly staff. Brilliant for families, friends catching up, or even on your own! We have popped in to the Corner Cafe in Currie several times whilst out walking. It occupies a good sized corner site and attracts passers by as well as many locals. The selection of cakes is good, and I particularly like the hot chocolate. Well worth a visit.

With not only a reasonably priced and varied menu, The Corner Cafe has a warm, friendly and relaxing atmosphere. Accommodating for all - including those with additional dietary requirements - our local cafe truly brings the community together. I personally recommend the brie and cranberry panini followed by homemade fruit scone.

Lovely cafe with tasty food. Small play area for keeping the kids entertained. Plenty of choice for lunch, cakes, drinks, kids. I had chorizo, olives and bread, my daughter had a toastie-very tasty.

Popped in here for breakfast on Sunday morning. We arrived just as the doors opened (10am on a Sunday) and had an excellent full breakfast with a nice coffee. The menu is quite varied and offers something for everyone. We've sampled the cup cakes before, which are worth a try if you've a sweet tooth.

This is a cafe which has recently opened on the corner of a small group of shops in Currie.It has a very interesting selection of snacks on the menu although you can have a full breakfast if you want. Today we both had paninines , one being Brie, Bacon and Cranberry ,the other Coronation ChickenThis was followed by a Strawberry Tart, Millionaires Shortbread and two coffees.Good food in a comfortable, warm room.
