This is my favourite Indian restaurant in London. The staff really make you feel welcome and the food is fantastic. If you like spicy food, then this restaurant makes it hot enough to suit you, just let them know. It gets busy later in the evening (rightfully so) so book if you plan on going. Early on (1800ish) you'll be ok to walk in. This is my go to treat.

Absolutely great food, all the waiters were extremely friendly and went above and beyond for us. I was honestly shocked to see any bad reviews for The Coriander because I think this is one of the best places I’ve been for Indian food… so don’t listen to the bad reviews, go. You’ll love it ;)

I visited with my family of 10 (3 generations) for my Mum’s birthday. First, the service: We were all treated like royalty. Nothing was too much trouble, I asked for 2 items that weren’t on the menu-but they were cooked perfectly. Mum was even given gifts by the staff and drinks on the house at the end. My nieces were also given a gift each. Second, atmosphere: Exactly what you would hope for. Warm, welcoming, pleasant lighting and the balance between being attentive-without being annoying was met perfectly. Lastly, and most importantly-food: From starters to mains, we all selected different meats and dishes-every single one was wonderful. We all agreed the food was delightful. Everything was fresh, tasty and beautifully cooked. The lamb melted in the mouth! Mum’s birthday meal was just right. Thank you staff! We highly recommend the Coriander, and cannot wait to return.

it was a 3 meals order, as soon as i taste the food i took the food to the bin. absolutely disgusting. None of the 3 dishes were acceptable. probably baked a month ago, with bits of dried rice probably from another dish. the colour and the smell and the taste. i hope the chef will go to hell for that kind of deliveries. because that was no food.

Ordered the chicken korma with plain rice, garlic naan and a poppadom, the korma had a little bit of a kick but was still very yummy and they gave me 2 free poppadoms along with the one that I ordered! Delivered within half an hour of ordering which was much appreciated because I was starving!!

One of the best Indian restaurants I've dined in. The food was cooked to perfection and the service was amazing. My friend and I ordered the tandoori king prawns, sheekh kebab and paneer as starters. The prawns were full of flavour and the paneer was delicious. For mains, we ordered the prawn biryani and tandoori chicken and we were taken away with how good it tasted! The hospitality was amazing, the manager was extremely friendly and made sure we were looked after. Definitely the best Indian restaurant I've eaten in a while. I also took food away for my husband and he loved it!

had a takeaway from Coriander last night and have to say that it was superb. From fresh poppadoms to curry and nan it could not be faulted. Have lived in Blackheath for 30 years and seen the local Indians slowly slide into mediocrity, but this place, down the hill, is just a joy. Way above the Blackheath Village ones - these guys are still trying.

Ordered take away- absolutely the worse food you can order, tandoor chicken is sweet and bright red, lamb is full of sugar and grainy. Naan bread is chewy and tough. Seriously the worst Indian you can order.

Reviews here swing wildly apparently. Had a good time, so I guess I'm in luck? Started with lamb, was very tasty. we got some other food, was also very tasty! only thing I can complain about is service time, but it was worth the wait. Do come here, see if you're in luck.

DON'T ORDER AT ALL Daal Tarka: Weird yellow color and filled with garlic. Also cooked in some weird tasting oil. It was horrible. Special Shahi Paneer: So called Shahi Paneer was the WORST special shahi paneer I have had in my entire life. It was absolutely disgusting and had no flavour of Shahi Paneer whatsoever. Tandoori Roti: The rotis were big in size but were undercooked. I had to bin the whole food away (see pictures). Excellent place...A hidden gem in near westcombe park station.

This is the best South Asian cuisine I’ve experienced and the SERVICE *chefs kiss* it’s a little gem of a place I’m glad my friend introduced me to. I’m based in the West Midlands and every time I come to London this is the spot. I usually don’t go for this cuisine as my first choice but this is the exception.

Very poor delivery, given to wrong address

We have been getting deliveries from the Coriander for years - they got us through lockdown. Always pleased with the food and the service and happy to recommend them as one of the best in the area.

Ordered food Friday night. Driver couldn’t be bothered to come to the flat entrance just stood at his car and made me come and find him was 5 mins away from the delivery address. I thought the idea of takeaway delivery was so you didn’t have to get dressed and go out! Food arrived lamb chops were tiny and not as nice as last time and I ordered 7 poppadoms for the kids @ 75p each but only had 2 with my meal. Disappointed ☹️ so I didn’t receive £3.75 of my order.

Had a lovely time with my family here last night. They were very friendly to my kids providing a high chair and kid options. Me and my extended family were very impressed with the attentiveness and care towards the service and food. Should I ever be in London again I will definitely remember this place. Top class

Found this place walking around Vauxhall area. The best curry Ive had. The waiter had many great suggestions, Good atmosphere, reasonable prices, family owned. Good food and great selection. would eat there again.

Always a firm favourite but last night with friends visiting from overseas and another friends birthday it was exceptional! The food is the best around but the service is why we always keep going back! It’s a cliche but we really do feel like part of the family and our little guests were so well looked after and the grown ups all rated the night as perfect!

After ordering from here years ago and always being top quality, a recent delivery I had was so poor and bland. Did not taste or look fresh. Tasted reheated. Highly disappointing.

I last had a takeaway from the Coriander approx 2 years ago and it was awful, but I thought I would give it it a try this evening to see if it has improved, how wrong was I!… I know that eating in the coriander is a completely different dining experience and the meat is very tender and very fresh….but the food they deliver over a phone call is a different story…the plus side, popadom and dips delicious as was the mushroom fried rice…chicken tikka was tough and dry,Bombay aloo was cold and like stone…I also ordered a chicken dansak and a chicken jalfrezi but, you could not tell which was what as they both came in the same bright red sauce, when we finally worked out which was what and started eating, the chicken was unbelievably tough dry and like string.. I’m forever done with this pace 😡

Authentic and delicious….. we have never had a bad meal here. Eat in or takeaway iit is always the most flavoursome food we can hope for. The food is fresh, vibrant and tastes so good! Excellent restaurant whether takeaway or dine-in. Very tasty food, generous portions and attentive, friendly staff. Couldn't wish for a better local restaurant - 10 years of coming here and never been disappointed.

I ordered a meal to take away via uber eats. The food arrived on time and was well presented, still warm. Both dishes I ordered, lamb and saag paneer were however incredibly sweet and sugary. It seemed intentional and wasn't completely unpleasant, just not my flavour profile at all. Lamb was chewy and rice had no salt in it; the latter I wouldn't mind had the sauces were more to my taste.

Pedí con JustEat y la comida llegó 70 minutos tarde, 2 horas y 15 minutos después de haberla pedido.Llamé al restaurante en tres ocasiones para comprobar el pedido. La primera vez que me informaron que la comida estaba en camino, sin embargo, 20 minutos después, la comida no había llegado, así que volví a llamar y después de 7 minutos de espera me colgaron. Intenté llamar de nuevo, pero la línea estaba constantemente ocupada. I got a takeaway ... it was prompt ... fresh and tasty !!! I recommend the Korai lamb !!! Taraka daal and aloo bhaingan is very nice too ! Best to ask for no onions in all the dishes though 😉 Thank you 🙏🏽 Good for kids... not too spicy !!! 👌

Dos mejores restaurantes indios que conozco. Uno en tenareef y otro en westcombe park blackheath london. No puedo decidir cuál es el mejor. También he viajado a la India varias veces, así que sé de lo que estoy hablando. Muy recomendable las gambas. Tan grande y jugosa.

El chef de cilantro parece pensar que todos los platos deberían tener una base de tomate. Cada plato es rojo y se ve igual. La calidad es ridícula, mi madras era una sopa de cordero a base de tomate con algunas guindillas y me tomó un tiempo averiguar qué plato era cuál y mi esposa es vegetariana. Solo puedo asumir que las altas calificaciones provienen de personas con estándares muy bajos. Nunca más ordenaré desde aquí.

Erm what can I say...ordered food at 6.50pm and arrived at 9.30pm. I thought it would be worth the wait but unfortunately for me it wasn't. Chicken biriyani and veg curry was very bland indeed. Ill be sticking to Mogul :)

Food was delicious. Tarka Dhaal was proper authentic, was topped with proper tarka. Definitely recommend Mix Vegetables Jalfrezi for vegetarians. The curries were full of tons of spices. Friendly staff and a great experience.

Only gave this place a 1 because they wouldn’t allow me to give a ZERO! ABSOLUTELY THE WORST PLACE TO EAT AVOID AT ALL COST Customer service is so poor The manager was rude and told us to get out of his restaurant after we complained of finding mould in our drink and tried to pass it off as a mushroom! After asking him to demonstrate a wild mushroom dissolving in lemonade He mixed a mushroom and said “Look gone” after it was clearly still in his hand!!! After we asked for it back he quickly dissolved it in the sink! So so upset our evening was ruined by this arrogant man and his so called “business” employees! I can go on all night but I’m afraid I’m too busy vomiting

We came here with a friend and I am new to the area. The prices were more than reasonable and the food was absolutely out of this world. The service was perfect. They helped us with our coats, let us take some home and were very attentive. Lots of vegi options! They weren't cheap with the extras or ammount of food, loved the place. 5star!

We had been looking for authentic South Asian food for a very long time in London. On most occasions, it would turn out to be a typically sweet dish even if we specifically asked it to be a little hot and spicy.. Even the savoury dishes would taste more like a desert which is nothing what we get back home. We were pleasantly surprised to find this place with exactly the kind of food we had been craving for . The best part is they customise the food based on your palate..We wanted it hot and spicy and that's what we got... We ordered Chicken Handi Lazeez, Chicken Shangreela and Lamb Rogan Josh for mains and Adha Jhinga for starters besides Garlic Naan.. All the dishes were absolutely brilliant and worth every penny. If you have been craving for Indian, Pakistani or Bangladeshi cuisine , this one's for you. The icing on the cake is the discounts that you get if you have a Tastecard or sometimes even without it... Great offers for home delivery as well.... Have to say a word for the owners as well who are really very warm and friendly .. I highly recommend this place to the real foodies out there...Thanks for this wonderful experience.. I don't normally do reviews myself and friend visited and this place is a hidden gem the food was beautifully cooked plenty flavours in the food. I am very fussy where I eat. The staff were lovely, the only downfall is the place is small and the tables are quite closed to each other. I got this on a wowcher deal so was limited to what myself and friend could have. If you do get the wowcher please check as you do not get the sides and rice with main. Nevertheless I did order some food and was not disappointed. Definitely will be back.

Home deliery...We use The Coriander in Blackheath quite a lot, both in-restaurant and home delivery.The food and service by the Coriander is always excellent - highly recommended.This is the first time we have used Kukd.com to order the food - we were directed there from the restaurant's website. Usually we'll collect or use another delivery service.It took over an hour to arrive. It was a mid-week evening and not particularly busy. While food prep and delivery times are expected to vary and can be this long 'sometimes', waiting an hour in London is very unusual - especially when we didn't know this in advance. In fact, over double the time of nearly every other food delivery, which is annoying - especially when we're very close to the restaurant.The Kukd.com website also offers little in the way of tracking your order, which nearly all other apps do. So you cannot see when the food is accepted, being prepped, on it's way, tracking the delivery driver etc. As every other delivery service offers this - it's an expected feature nowadays.After 50 minutes we called the restaurant to check on the progress of our order, luckily it was on it's way.We'll use The Coriander again for sure. Just not via Kukd.comI recommend paying a bit more money and ordering from another delivery service. Or go to the restaurant yourselves to collect/dine-in.While this review is mostly negative towards Kukd.com, the restaurant obviously endorse it as being the preferred online ordering method - so they must be blamed too. After all, service is part of the experience.

I took the spicy option, if was spicy but not inedible. Overall quality is acceptable but too expensive for the quality if you have to pay full price.

Coriander is fabulous - like it's namesake it's unassuming but packs a punch, instantly elevating meals. The food is excellent - fresh ingredients and a decent - but not overpowering - amount of heat and spice. For a freshly made takeaway it's rapidly becoming my go-to place. The place itself is clean, cool and welcoming. The highlight - the staff were more than happy to adjust my meal to low fodmap (cut out garlic and reduce the extra onions) on the dish I'd selected. Given how much Indian cooking relies on these two that's a hell of an achievement and any restaurant that tries to go the extra mile for its customers is worth sticking with. Call them immediately the moment you feel hungry.

No podríamos estar más contentos con el servicio y la comida. Me gusta mi comida picante, así que se lo mencioné al camarero, pedí el pollo achari y mi esposa consiguió el cordero Bhuna como el principal con algunas otras cosas. ¡No lastimé mi billetera que siempre es buena!

We booked through the OpenTable app, but the restaurant had no record of our booking when we arrived. Food is always good. Due to the restaurant having a large party booked, the service wasn't great. We clearly had one of their family/friends attend to our table as he had no idea how to competently clear a table or carry multiple items in one trip. The staff also didn't understand gluten free allergies. We had to guess which dishes would be suitable. We used our Gormet Society card so the discount was helpful but would have been disappointing if we hadn't used that. Sadly we were in and out in an hour! Only visited twice before so hopefully this won't be our experience again.

Quick delivery, food was delicious, big portions, everything was hot, can't fault one thing. One of the best Indian takeaways I've had! Will definitely be ordering from here again!

As soon as I walked in I was welcomed my very welcoming staff who made me feel very comfortable before I had even ordered my food. The food was amazing which just the right amount of spices. Overall the food was amazing and I’ll definitely be coming back!

Food is at the lower end of what I class as a good curry, if you like bland flavours and the sauces made with 17 cans of coconut milk you will love it. Just had a take away for fathers day, two different dishes taste and look exactly the same. I would give 4 stars if the cost was half as much however this is priced online with a The Mogul, only reason didn't order from there was it was closed at 3pm on Father's day... Lesson learned
