First visit to the copper kettle and wow what a gem of a place. Dog friendly which is a bonus and lovely welcoming staff. Food excellent, we had braised steak, chicken in leeks and mum and niece had prawn sandwiches. The food is beautiful, piping hot and fresh vegetables. Lovely selections all home cooked including, roast dinners, shepherds pie, homemade pies. Would highly recommend and will be returning the next time we’re in the area. The cafe is a credit to the owners and top marks to the chef.

Very nice Cafe, nice to have table cloths, nice cutlery. Very friendly staff. First visit. Not cheap ! Only complaint is the Sherry trifle was terrible definitely no sherry not set either, in fact quite poor especially for £4.95.The chicken and ham pie wasn't very nice either, whoever made it certainly doesn't know how to cook pastry the contents weren't very nice either which was disappointing. On a good note we will be coming again.

We found this lovely little cafe on Sunday lunchtime, and even though they were extremely busy and had reserved tables they managed to squeeze us in and the two ladies we saw made us feel so welcome, it was friendly and homely. We had a lovely beef dinner each....we will definitely go again when we're back in the area. Thank you.

Table cloth had tea Staines on it so had a feeling that it was going to go downhill from there. Ordered two all day breakfasts. The waitress was very nice. Food and tea arrived, lipstick on my cup, the poached egg was hard, sausages were like paste not meat and no colour to them, thin packet bacon. Toast was like hot bread not toast with only one small portion of butter. Coast down the road does a lovely breakfast but unfortunately only until 12pm.

Rip off - went here once and will never go again. The place is set up to rip off old and vulnerable people. We went as a family of four and couldn’t believe how much we paid for how little food we had. It felt like it’s whole objective was to exploit those who were most vulnerable. The food served may have been ok for a pensioner but it definitely wasn’t good value for money. Avoid this place.

However, the parking space I got meant I had to pass The Copper Kettle and I remembered a couple of great meals I had there some years ago. Decided to go in. So glad I did. Popped in for lunch with my mum, paid about £8.95 for fish, chips and mushy peas. I don't know what was wrong with the fish but it must have been frozen, not cooked properly or both. It was rubbery and didn't break apart or melt in the mouth like most fish and chips Ive had do. I wasn't even served tartar with my fish and chips. Chips were ok and peas were nice, nothing special. To pay that amount of money to be served frozen, rubbery fish is a joke. My mums meal was a chicken salad, she liked it but it was expensive for what it was. I didn't complain or ask for a refund, wasn't worth the hassle, won't be going again and do not recommend.

I was delighted with the meal I had here earlier this year, it was very busy when we arrived but a very friendly waitress asked if we could wait and she would have a table in 10 minutes which we did sitting outside in the sunshine. True to her word she called us in ten mins later and my first impressions were this is lovely! Old fashioned for some peoples taste but for me, it brought back memories of lovely traditional cafe that was always busy and served great food and I was not disappointed! I decided on the roast beef lunch and my friend went for the steak pie and both were delicious with a good selection of veg on the side that was cooked perfectly and I had no problem swopping the roast potatoes for the lovely creamy mash which I prefer, the beef was melt in the mouth with a wonderful flavour and plenty of it! My friend said the pie was the best he had tasted in years! we both cleared our plates and I could not resist the dessert menu and opted for the bread and butter pudding which was very light with lovely homemade custard my only complaint if you could call it one was there was too much fruit in the pudding for my taste but other than that delicious. The cafe is bright airy and very clean the staff are friendly and helpful and the food is delicious! I will certainly be back and would highly recommend this cafe to anyone and from what I seen of the other meals on offer they all looked delicious and all plates were cleared! Almost forgot we had tea and coffee and both were up to standard.

The food is amazing traditional good solid English food which is a rarity to find. Always a lovely choice of main desserts wins etc. The staff are very friendly as well as the regular customers. I took my Gran here for a lovely lunch as I was impressed with the decor and menu suited to traditional tastes. The braised steak I had was to die for, piping hot, tender and delicious - served with home cooked, duck fat roasted potatoes, a rich gravy and fresh, seasonal vegetables. My Gran also enjoyed her lamb, and the sponge pudding desserts we indulged in after!I also took home a takeaway meal for my Mum, who was unwell and couldn't participate. She had the broccoli bake with a portion of homemade mash. Despite having to reheat it for her, she thought it was absolutely gorgeous and commented on the "lovely, creamy mash", and "full of flavour" vegetables.Well worth a visit if you want a traditional, home-cooked meal! A very popular local restaurant, what I'd call a cafe run by two sisters so I was informed by our friends who go there regularly. It is a licensed restaurant/cafe. Four had Scampi with French fries, which seemed to be of responsible portion size and quality. Our three year old was asked how many sausages she wanted by the waitress and said two, French fries and peas. I had sausage, mash, peas, carrots and gravy. When my meal arrived I was very disappointed by the portion size; two small sausages, a few peas and carrots, a very small amount of mash, and thin watery gravy. Had I not been with friends I would have complained and sent it back. The sausages were cheap and poor quality, would never recommend this for an adult male. The deserts were good; ice cream sundae were quite large, the apple/blackberry crumble and custard was good. Looking at the other meals customers were having seemed to be good portion size, obviously I made the wrong choice in my meal. There are plenty of other restaurant and cafes around which I go to before this one if in the area again.
