Fantastic haven for a visit with a dog. Atmosphere, food and service first class. Will be back for sure!

Last Christmas, we had a beautiful Christmas dinner on Christmas Day. We were seated in the little nook part of the pub. We enjoyed ourselves and the food so much, we decided in July to book again for this Christmas Day. We paid the deposit, put a request to be seated in the Nook again. We went back to pay the balance in November and they confirmed again that we would be seated in the Nook. This was slso confirmed in an e mail. What a disappointment and shambles! We arrived to be greeted by a lady in a red jumper. She took our names and told us that we would be seated in the restaurant part. We informed her that we had requested the Nook. She said that we were in the restaurant and that was that, nothing she could do about it. She really didn’t care. We were shown to the table in the restaurant, there was a reservation card on the table with the original table number ( presumably in the nook) on it with a line through it and changed to this table. Someone had been given our table obviously. Anyway, the food was ok, but it lacked a Christmas dinner feel, no mash or parsnips, just very basic. We had to ask for cranberry sauce and mustard. Out of the seven tables in the restaurant part, we heard the poor overworked ( but very nice and pleasant) waiter having to apologise for something or other . One child’s meal from one table was returned. There were two ladies behind us, one had eaten her roast dinner before the other lady had had hers. She offered t o go to the kitchen to sort out her own dinner. They weren’t happy. We have been regular customers throughout the year and have always had good food and good service, but today was a complete disappointment and disaster. The attitute of the woman in the red jumper was the worst part. She ruined the day for us. She had a non caring smirk on her face. Anyway, we won’t be back next Christmas. It’s not worth the risk especially when paying £79 each. I doubt that some of the others there today will be back too.

Fantastic pub and super dog friendly! We enjoyed some family time here and the dog was welcome wherever we were. They even have water bowls, dog treats and a dog menu. We all had a lovely evening meal of gammon and chips, peri peri chicken and salad and super tasty burgers. Would definitely come here again.

The food and service was very good. What let it down was having to drink it down with pepsi max. I hate being put in a position of either having to walk out or put up with a drink I detest because they don't sell full sugar soft drinks on tap; but in small bottles which would cast a fortune. (I drove a distance to go there which is why it was soft drinks only) Surely it should be an option for the customer to choose! Coincidence they sell full fat deserts?

Starter mushroom's must of been cooked in cold oil as it was oily and un edible!

Went on a Sunday evening. Atmosphere was pleasant, helpful staff, an acceptable pedigree, with a great cider choice

Thank you to the team at Rhos Fynach for hosting our Llandrillo yn Rhos School reunion last weekend. You looked after us very well and didnt rush us out at the end of the evening. Really great customer service, Thank you.

The food was excellent but I've given it 4 stars because we went on the Friday evening and because we hadn't booked they couldn't serve us even though there was hardly any one dining and there was no reserved on any of the other tables which were not set up for anyone. But we wasn't put off, we booked for Saturday evening. The above was my last visit, this time was totally different. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the meal was very good and I have revised my opinion.

A really nice old fashioned pub just off the sea front. We only stopped for a quick drink I had a pint of IPA and the wife a diet coke to my surprise it was £9.65 so we only had the one drink. A very nice large beer garden with plenty of outside seating.

Always great food with great service. The crazy golf is great fun for all ages 😀

Ate here yesterday evening, the staff member who served us was really lovely ( reddish hair?) didn’t catch her name. She was very helpful checking with chef which meals i could eat due to allergies. The vegan lasagne was gorgeous! Thanks chef! Will look forward to popping in again👍

They always find you a table and are very welcoming. Food is good with prompt service. My wife is disabled and finds the facilities ok.

A fabulous venue for your party. We held our silver wedding anniversary party last night and can't fault it from initial enquiry to walking away after a fabulous do. Food was excellent, venue is full of character, not too posh to feel at home but everything you could want. Thank you Justin Kim and all the staff who helped make our special night so much fun. We would highly recommend this place for any occasion. Fabulous location on Rhos prom a stone's throw from the beach with a park behind is a bonus.

Had the Sunday lunch , small portion of the roast lamb, absolutely delicious, still too much for us but we did take some home 🏡 😋, can certainly recommend

This is a lovely old pub in Rhos on Sea, Conwy! It's very old having been a monastery at one time! The staff are very friendly and helpful! Good choice of local real ale, but does other drinks! Food is delicious and freshly cooked so takes a bit longer to arrive but well worth it!! We've had the fish and chips in there as well as there own burger which is homemade and my husband had the pie, also homemade, with chips as mash had already run out is the dish is popular!! The pub is also dog friendly and they have their own menu!!

From the moment we walked in to pub we were greeted by a very professional gentleman who gave me and my wife a nice warm welcome..and the food we ordered was excellent my steak and ale pie was one of the best l have tasted also the lady that served us was very pleasant and made a big fuss of our dog sorry we didn't catch your names but we had a great time many thanks from Mike and Chris also Saxson the big black dog.

Unlike Gareth (below) I’ll keep this short and sweet as we have more important things to do than write a War & Peace length review! Came with my partner and dog for drinks and a meal, we were sat in a lovely cozy area, drinks ordered and delivered to the table, we wanted a prawn cocktail starter but was on the menu as just sandwiches, it was fine, they made us what we wanted - brilliant. Mains were freshly cooked and delicious. Service from both women servers was fantastic too. Our dog was also fussed and made to feel super welcome - she loved the doggy sausage. Yes, we were given one menu between two of us, fortunately we quite like eachother so we’re happy to share! You could of course ask for more menus should you wish! All In all a lovely couple of hours in the restaurant, Thankyou.

Food was lovely. Drinks are horrible i asked for lemonade which tasted like sparking water. The waitress with dark hair is very abrupt and impatient, made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome.

Lovey evening to end our family holiday! 15 of us plus 2 dogs! Food was excellent, service was quick and staff were friendly and efficient. Couldn't fault anything! Everyone happy especially some of the fussiest members of our party! Highly recommended

Amazing food . The staff are lovely also management . We had the steak and ale pie also fish and chips and a chicken burger. This was the best meal we have had in a very long time . We highly recommend that everyone should try this place and take along your pooch . Pooch menu is also available.

Lovely little pub by the front in Rhos, food was good, big portions! Desserts were quite expensive but still nice. Stayed for the pub quiz which was enjoyable!

My wife and I had our first date at this restaurant. It was so good we considered having our wedding here. So disappointed with our visit on Saturday. It was my wife’s birthday and I thought let’s revisit our first date location for a nice meal. I placed a booking online and requested a low traffic area away from noise and the bar. I told my wife that morning where we were going and we looked at the menu online over breakfast and planned what we were going to have. We arrived promptly to be greeted by a lady who pointed randomly and said our table was on the left… hmmm. Well; she was right it was on the left, a mere few metres from the bar. Right next to a table for 8. Clearly it was noisy and although there wasn’t a huge amount of traffic it was not a pleasant place to sit. Another member of staff behind the bar had to clarify where we were sitting because by the time we were near to the table the woman was busy serving someone else and had completely forgotten about us. Next the menu arrived. No spelling error there was one menu to share between two people which just made things awkward. But there’s more- this isn’t the menu they have online; what I wanted wasn’t there. By now I was getting very frustrated and I had to bite my tongue for my wife’s sake because I didn’t want to spoil her birthday. I did challenge this when the server came and to his credit he asked what I had seen and said it wasn’t a problem, I could have what I wanted. Brilliant! A positive and all credit to him for sorting this. The food arrived and to be fair was very good. I have no complaints with the quality of the food and all credit to the kitchen staff for that. We finished our mains and asked for a dessert menu. Once again only 1 arrived. I was going to order a waffle with ice cream and my wife was just going to have another glass of wine. However, by the time our server returned we just wanted to leave because he took so long to come back to us. He wasn’t serving he just disappeared. Anyway; we got the bill and were told we needed to go to the bar to pay. The first challenge was getting past the staff and the people they knew who were gathered in the bar and blocking the exit. The staff were too engrossed to see us and even when they did just didn’t bother about us. We were completely ignored in favour of laughing and joking with friends. Finally the server went to the bar, spotted us stuck in the throng and pointed towards the end of the bar where the till was. I pushed through making sure my wife could get through, paid and left. I did still tip the server. He let us down once and we don’t know the circumstances why so I gave him the benefit of the doubt but I didn’t tip what I planned to. I have to say, as local people who have visited this restaurant many times in the past (admittedly not as much recently) this experience was extremely disappointing. We planned to have our wedding here and I’m so glad we didn’t now because this is not the place it once was. And if you read this Rhos Fynach please know that without that server this would have been a 1* for ignoring our booking request completely, for providing too few menus, for having a completely different menu online with no explanation and for your staff being ignorant to your customers. I sincerely hope you read this, commend your one server (male, reddish hair, very young), and I really hope you sort your booking system and staff out. You used to be an amazing place and I’d rather go to table table, pay less and get better service.

Lovely pub and a bonus was doggie friendly. Food was absolutely fabulous and you can even order for your four legged friend from the doggie menu 🐶

Stopped here for a pint and a bite to eat when visiting North wales. Place looks nice and cosy, great location, it's in a nice spot on the promenade.

Spent Sunday afternoon here, having lunch and watching the live band. We both enjoyed al fresco lunch (1 burger meal and 1 fish meal). Service was fine. You can dine outside with confidence here, due to netting that protects you from seagulls!

Came here yesterday before we arrived at the camp site. Excellent service from start to finish, friendly welcoming and even had a little giggle. Food was very hot and amazing. Deffo on my list of amazing places would definitely be coming here again even if its just for a day trip.

The tavern was in a lovely setting by the beach. It had a very welcoming atmosphere with table service . Staff were helpful and professional. The building was olde worlde, Lovely and quaint. The food was really nice, good choice on the menu. They had lite bites which were a smaller version of the mains . I had lasagne as a lite bite and garlic bread. It was a perfect ending to a lovely day out in Rhos on sea I would recommend Rhos Fynach Tavern. It also had crazy golf outside and a large outdoor seating area. It also had private events too.

Great to have parking on seafront. Really good pub food. Outside eating area good (and screened from seagulls!)

Very disappointed with the quality of the food. Had booked in advance for 5pm on a Sunday. The Roasts had all sold out so we had to order off the normal menu. I opted for fish, chips and mushy peas. Chips were oven baked frozen ones! My son’s burger wasn’t great. Wouldn’t recommend.

Fantastic food and service. Really friendly pub atmosphere and was made very welcome by the locals while we were on holiday. Extremely dog friendly and serve dog dinners too. Highly recommend and will definitely be back on our next holiday. Hugo the dog gives a 5 paw rating

Went mid week but a very nice place. Quite big. Small car park but plenty free space on the roads around. Great food.

We visited on Saturday evening, 11 people plus a baby, although the pub was busy our food came out quickly and every dish was excellent, as usual. The piri piri chicken is the best I have ever had.

Good selection of drinks on offer and nice area outside. Live music every Sunday. Outside area would benefit from more covered areas, but can’t mark down on that basis (there are a number of covered tables (hut type) but unable to get a pram in). Dog friendly too.

Never heard of this lovely little pub before to think I've lived in Wales all my life but never been along the front of Rhos on Sea before and it won't be long before I get there again, we had Sunday lunch which was devine apart from 1 little thing I prefer my new potatoes softer but apart from that highly recommended

Great atmosphere, very welcoming dog friendly pub. Often pop in with the dog after a good long walk for refreshments.

Watch out for being served with short measures of beer. And they won't like it if you ask them to top it up please.

Called here on Monday 3rd June the 2 girls on the bar were great ,price of beer was good food was excellent can not fault worth a visit when in Ross on Sea.

Wednesday 29th May 2024 Had a meal here with friends and Mylo the 🐕 Staff accommodating and very nice 👌 Food very nice resalable prices and ice cream and crazy golf outside in the grounds.. Family pub would recommend and going back.. 5⭐️

Had fish and chips.. Lovely portion size was just right.. Enough but not too much.. Pleasant staff.. Best to book ahead to avoid disappointment as it can get quite busy

Beautiful hot food.. Plenty of seating inside and out but seems a bit dark when first enter. Had steak and changed chips for rice, and also scampi and chips. Absolutely lovely. Definitely recommend and definitely go again

Myself and my husband booked a table on Sunday the 5th of May. When I booked online the last slot it gave was 6.15. Which suited us as we had our 1 year old anyway and we didn't want it to get late for her. After booking, I saw on their website that food stops being served at 6, so I was concerned that our table booking wouldn't be valid. Upon checking with them on this during the day on the Sunday, they said 6.15 was fine. We then proceeded to arrive at 5.55, in order to be able to have a drink outside as the weather was lovely for a change (a rare occurrence these day's), but the lady who welcomed us took us straight to our table, promptly asked us to order earlier. It became apparent they wanted us to order earlier and get us out of the way earlier. This is fine, as I can guarantee they had a busy day and their staff must have been shattered at this point. But, We would have appreciated they told us to come earlier, so that we could have enjoyed a drink etc before being taken straight to the table. Other than that, the girl who served us, didn't get her name unfortunately, was lovely, and the blonde lady was very nice at the bar when we paid and left, and the food, bloody delicious.

Fantastic food, very good value for money. Very kind staff - my little girl dropped her sausage and it was speedily replaced for free. Very dog and child friendly.

The gammon, chips and egg were spot on for the price..👌 👌 the other two mains (baked 🥔 potatoes 🥔)unfortunately were not enjoyed by the rest in our party 🙄 the coffee ☕ is mixed with powdered milk 🥛 from a machine which, in my opinion only, ( I only like real coffee) was not drinkable, but still may be perfectly acceptable to others.. also, they are genuinely dog 🐶 friendly 🐕 🐩 🐕‍🦺 👏👏👏👏 which is always nice to see 😁 👍👍

Warm friendly pub, good atmosphere and friendly staff, been twice, once on a Friday evening for dinner with the family and the back again for Sunday dinner, both times good food and service.

We had the best fish and chips here. Well recommend this place. Pets welcome too.
