Lovely comfortable and clean tearoom and light bites, almost at the end of the High Street. A sanctuary in the pouring rain the day we visited. Tasty things to eat and drink. You could sit outside if it wasn't raining. Friendly, helpful staff and I am grateful they kept my walking stick until it could be collected. Stop and try. Recommended.

Lovely little place on a quiet side of the high street. I popped in after running some errands right after the first lockdown was lifted. The day of my visit was the eat out to help out day. I only ordered a coffee, but the offer still applied. The staff were really welcoming and chatty, which was great for me as I’m new to the area. I managed to sit outside on the day of my visit in the sunshine and enjoyed a very nice latte. Id love to be able to visit again soon

we have been going to the conservatory ever since it opened and the food is always freshly made and tastes gorgeous. Lovely owners and staff. Would recommend a visit if you are in Hythe. We love the egg sandwiches, jacket potatoes, ploughman's and of course the cakes are yummy. You always get a nice pot of tea or freshly prepared coffee and a loyalty card.....so please go and try it as you won't be disappointed and they are so reasonably priced.

This shop has been fitted out so it really looks like a conservatory. So it's good to look at. The food was fine, and indeed the baked potatoes were accompanied by a salad - not mentioned on the menu. The cake I had was a bit dry, but when I mentioned this, she replied. "They can't be dry: they were delivered fresh this morning!" I'm sorry to say that, if something is slightly overcooked, then it may well be dry, even if it's fresh from the oven five minutes before! We went on a Friday. Maybe that's a busy day, but if the cafe is half full, the noise from people talking is pretty deafening. If it had fewer customers, it would be better. But if it's full, the noise is all echoed back from the tiled floor, the glass tables, and other wooden ones. Perhaps they should consider using sound-absorbent rugs, and table-cloths, which would make it easier to hear one's companion. But if they don't do something about that, they will be getting fewer customers.

Decided to try this venue today for coffee. Not disappointed. Warm welcome, good selection of seating well thought out within the space. Good selection of light bite food & cakes. The Americanos were spot-on & the homemade cheese scones were delicious. All reasonably priced & served with warmth. Well done for making us feel so welcome! Note - cash only.

We often pop in for a light lunch of baked potato or a baguette. It's on the "wrong" end of the High Street but it doesn't seem to have made any difference to them as they are so often full with happy customers. Also good for afternoon tea.

My 80 year old disabled mother and I went into this tea room and asked if it was ok to use the toilet, and the lady behind the counter said 'yes' so my mother went first and I second, and as i was coming out of the toilet, I heard the staff saying something to my mother, and as i walked out, I was approached by a very rude woman, asking me to sit down so she could take my order, of which i replied "No, we are not eating in here, we asked if it was ok to use the toilet" of which she then replied "No,you was told that "only if your a customer can you use our toilet" of which i then replied "No, that was not said to me, the lady I asked just said "yes", This woman then become extreemely angry and proceeded to tell me that I had to place an order!!!! of which I then said "so do you think your going to force me to eat in here then, and I then informed her that I have been in several cafe's and asked if it would be ok to use the toilet, and they have been very polite and always said "yes" and that I thought she was a very rude inconsiderate woman. It was quite obvious to me that so long as you was spending money in theis tea room, the staff were all pleasant, however, if you was desperate to use the loo, you see a complete differant side to them. what she obviuosly didnt realise, is that if she didn't react in the way she did, then my mother and I most probably would have returned there later, as we did want to have lunch, but at the time of using the loo, we had only just arrived to Hythe, and it was too early for lunch.

Visited here for the first time recently after hearing lots of great comments about it from others. Had a Prawn sandwich which came with side salad and Nachos and the coffee was beautiful, really beautiful. My daughter had a Ham sandwich and the ham was top quality. Really friendly, polite and attentive staff. It's everything we would expect from such a cafe, and then some. Oh, and fantastic cakes too (try the cherry bakewell). Will definitely visit here again.

Living in the local area it is always good to find a comfy seat and a friendly but unintrusive atmosphere. It can be very busy, thankfully, for them as it means they will stay to supply their excellent service. I have not eaten in there, except for toasted butter crumpets with either Tea or Coffee. The food that has been served to other clients, as I have been seated looks delicious and the prices are reasonable throughout their range.

More than your average coffee shop, this great little place near the end of the High Street is the best there is. The staff are really helpful and the selection of teas and coffees is extensive. The cakes and pastries are second to none. The ambience is pleasant and relaxing. There are a lot of coffee shops in Hythe High Street but this is, in my opinion, a cut above the rest.

Staying in Winchelsea Beach and decided to take a trip to Hythe. Beautiful unspoilt Kent town, lots of independent shops and great places to eat. Found a great place to eat at The Conservatory. Lovely friendly lady owner and a young girl seeing to all the tables. Very friendly to my friends dog Bailey, given a treat and bowl of water. We had a great sandwich, coffee and then a cake. All fresh and delicious. Please pop in when you're there. They're situated at the far end of the high street. You won't be disappointed.

We fancied a light lunch in Hythe and quite a few places were busy and those with spaces didn't have much elbow room. We happened along the Conservatory and saw the tables were very well spaced and of different types. Hard backed if needed plus comfy sofa and your regular seating. The menu is small with good choices. We had the quiche salad. It was lovely fresh and crisp and the quiche was very tasty and good value for money, I would definitely recommend. I heard a lady say as she was leaving their sponge cake was the best she'd had. The service was very friendly and the restaurant was spotlessly clean and fresh. We will return.

We are frequent visitors to Hythe but have rarely walked to the upper end of the High Street. A pity, as this delightful clean and airy café (seems a shame to refer to it merely as a ‘café’) is a gem which is heads and shoulders above the other ‘cafes’ further down the street. A welcoming acknowledgment on entering and no pressure to order. Tables and chairs are nicely located and spaced and only the slightest sound of a radio from the kitchen area, not in the least intrusive – lovely! The adequate and sensibly priced menu will satisfy most customers as everything is fresh and well presented. If you have their crumpets beware the lashings of butter thereon!!

We found this little gem today when searching for lunchtime refreshment. There was a lot of choice of venues but this looked nice. It is very 'conservatory' with tiled floor and metal furniture. We were greeted straight away which was a nice change from some of the places we have visited recently! We had a wonderful chilli with nachos which was tasty and very reasonable. The ladies were all so friendly and pleasant. Would definitely recommend and will visit again.

We called into The Conservatory and had jacket potatoes with Coronation chicken topping with a fresh mixed salad . We were offered a choice of salad dressings served on the side in a bowl. The potatoes were oven baked which is so much nicer than microwaved. We didn't try any of the cakes but they looked delicious. The staff were friendly and the food was brought promptly. The cafe is nicely decorated with pretty china crockery. Well worth a visit.

Relatively new cafe in Hythe and due to its position the area does not get as much footfall as the middle part of the High Street due to the crossing from Waitrose leading people up Sun Lane to the High Street, rather than people turning right and going up Douglas Avenue where nearly right in front of you is "The Conservatory" which does teas, coffees and light bites. With so many cafes in Hythe to choose from this is, in my opinion, the best. The staff are cheerful and polite. There is a choice of various cakes, scones, toasted tea cakes, jacket potatoes and homemade soups, cheese on toast. If you become a regular you can even have a coffee card and after 10 drinks you get a free one. There are various types of seating all of which make it a very relaxing and enjoyable place to go to. I have been on numerous occasions with family and friends who have all been delighted by this place. Recommend you give it a try.
