I know of this patisserie because of Milly Kenny-Ryder's "Britain's Best Bakeries," but I think "best" is a stretch. It's a beautiful place with beautiful pastries... that favor style over substance (trio chocolate croissant needs a bit more in terms of lamination). And the price tag is rather unforgivable. The Connaughty Hound is super cute, but not worth £19. Please. Matcha for £10.50. Why? Service charge of 15%, which is higher than most restaurants in London. Very instagrammable place, but I'd go elsewhere for something truly delicious.

I attempted to take my mom here for a piece of mother’s day cake, only to find that they were totally sold out of all pastries hours before closing. Why even bother to be open? A rather embarrassing lack of preparation on a busy mother’s! Certainly reflects poor planning and unserious business practices.

I got the pan au chocolate and the raspberry dessert with a cappuccino. The pan au chocolate was my favourite and the chocolate had a strong flavour which was nice. Lovely little high end patisserie. Myself and my partner decided to have a coffee date here, indulging on a sweet treat and a cup of coffee. It was once the undisputed best patisserie in London, standing head and shoulders above the rest. Unfortunately, standards have slipped recently, with repeated mistakes such as providing the wrong cake for advanced orders, inconsistent quality in pastries (ranging from excellent to mediocre depending on the day), and incorrect responses on their customer chat. This level of service is no longer acceptable from a 5-star hotel. It’s time to regain focus really.

There was a queue outside when we visited this place. Considering there were some how much hype about it, it was really disappointing. The server was poor. There was not much of an atmosphere. We ordered the hot chocolate which came to an astonishing £28 between 2 including VAT and service. It was the tiniest mug imaginable and way too rich. We asked for some whipped cream to temper it , but we were told they didn't have any. The waiter was also unable to tell us whether any of the deserts were vegan. Won't be visiting again.

Small pastry shop with a great pastry chef behind it. We took an afternoon break with tea and an excellent single portion of Saint Honoré and a Paris Brest, both made to perfection. Soft and light creams, little sugar and all the preparations impeccable from the musseline cream to the cream puffs and even the pastry. The place is really small and not entirely comfortable for eating at the table. Worth a try while taking a stroll around the neighborhood

Saint honoré was way too sweet and the caramel filling makes it denatured.... very disappointed... also the tropezienne was re invented and not in a good way. If you dont like Fleur d'oranger... impossible to eat, and the cake was way too sweet and soft ( c'est supposé être une brioche et la s'en est pas une). Also hot coco was good but too thick and too much... so it makes it écoeurant ....non Im sorry, these are the most expensive pastries I ever had even though I ve been to best french patissiers in Paris and abroad, and not good at all... even though they are beautiful....Regarding service, some were nice , other a bit cold...

I had a very negative experience at [the Connaught patisserie]. We were abruptly asked to leave due to a misunderstanding, and the staff handled the situation in an extremely unprofessional manner. It was clear that customer satisfaction was not a priority for them. Instead of trying to resolve the issue or listen to our side, they chose to kick us out without any explanation or consideration. The Connaught Patisserie by Nicolas Rouzaud is a daytime cafe and patisserie serving a selection of handmade sweet and savoury treats. The Patisserie was designed by London-based Ab Rogers Design. The idea was to create a chic Patisserie that “would take its inspiration from a jewellery box and aim at reflecting the exquisite delicacy of the cakes”. All creations are made by Nicolas Rouzaud, a french Pastry Chef who worked in some of the top hotels in Paris and London. The Salmon éclair was both creative and delicious, a delightful treat. Their renowned Trio au Chocolat certainly lived up to its reputation. However, the St. Honoré was less impressive. I still need to try the Pain au Chocolat.

I simply cannot fault my experience here. I hit this location at about 1pm on a Saturday in August. It was an accidental find as the spot I was aiming for was too busy. However, I found a table easily here, sat with my book and read for an hour or so. It was fairly quiet, air-conditioned (comfortably) and the staff were very attentive (even though I was only here for a croissant and latte). Both of the items I ordered were superb. I asked for a recommendation on a pastry (I wasn’t in the mood for a dessert), and the kind staff suggested a pink ‘raspberry’ croissant. This was divine. The latte was beautiful in its flavour and everything just felt simply; well-considered. From the napkins to the mugs, the coffee beans, the pastry and of course, the service. I will be making my way back here again to try a dessert in the near future.

Saw a couple foodie influencers promoting this place over socials so I thought I would give it a go myself. Came on a Sunday afternoon walking into a packed café and since they have different prices for having food in or to go I got everything to take away to avoid the extra charges. I got the popular trio pain au chocolat, pistachio danish, chocolate tart and St. Honore puff pastry. I didn't have anything on the spot as I had already eaten but I tried them all I'm the next few days. Trio pain au chocolat was indeed pretty good. Flaky and the trio chocolate fillings were rich and not too sweet. It's a well-balanced pastry indeed and can understand why it's popular. The pistachio danish was actually a pleasant surprise as I hadn't expected to taste much pistachio like many other pistachio desserts sold across London. But ita got two layers of filling with a creme in the middle and then a pistachio paste at the bottom which was so nutty and really added a lot of flavour and made it a delightful eat. The cakes ok the other hand were quite disappointing for me personally. The chocolate tart was way too rich and I wasn't expecting salted caramel filling in the middle which just made it overly sweet and I couldn't finish the whole thing. The St. Honore was nothing out of the ordinary not sure why it's such a popular cake I didn't think it's particularly special. The puff pastry was covered with a glaze which I didn't personally like, a bit too sweet for my liking. Overall, I had a great time enjoying the pastries but I didn't like the cakes at all. They were also pretty pricey considering it's located in Mayfair and obviously branded as a luxurious patisserie so not really on the affordable side. I am not sure if I will come back again given my experience but it was good to try.

Lost for words at the beauty and creativity of these pastries. We tried: - Butter Croissant which was fluffy, buttery and light. - Pain au Chocolat which included a trio of chocolate (milk, white and hazelnut) which was delicious. - Hot Chocolate was perfect, the consistency was creamy but not too thick nor it was bitter, there was a balance of sweetness. - Orange Blossom Tropezienne was light, exotic and fresh, we loved it. Definitely our favourite of our selection. The atmosphere was nice however the seating area is small, we would have loved to have dined in but there was no room but it was clearly very popular. We can't wait to come back and see what they come up with next.

I'm editing my son's review. It's an impeccable patisserie, but not for people who love the food. Expect pompous hotel guests posing with extremely overpriced pastries that will sit uneaten at the table and shooting horrified looks at anyone who may live in a house that costs less than their outfit. My son and I felt very uncomfortable. One of the servers seemed kind, but was instructed by the other not to bother with us. Although we wore smart casual clothes, the whole place quietly screamed that we clearly did not belong there. The smoked salmon eclair was indeed lovely (kudos to the pastry chefs), but it was around £20 for a Paris-Brest, which, as my son put it, is choux, cream and praline. In France, we've had similar for less than €5 with friendlier service and a much more pleasant environment. One doesn't go to the Connaught for value, but the least we expected was exceptional service, particularly for a kind, well-behaved child who is fascinated by extraordinary pastries. Their strategy worked, though: there's no chance we'll return.

Went to get an ice cream from the Connaught trolley in front of the hotel today. Unfortunately this experience was ruined by the arrogant member of staff servicing the trolley. Firstly he was opening berating his fellow colleague making crepes in front of customers. Secondly he was not wearing gloves when holding the ice cream cone. Thirdly he dropped some ice cream on his hand to which he wiped off with a serviette. He then proceeded to use this same serviette to wrap the ice cream cone and handed it to us. When mentioned how unhygienic all this was he simply said ok. Disgusting.

We had great service and received wonderful advice. We couldn't decide for a long time, but the employees were all patient and tried to choose something that was right for us. The cappuccino was great even with oat milk, the cheesecake was very good, nice dough on the outside and pudding-like on the inside. I had a Chocolate & Tonka Tart, exactly what I wanted, something not quite as sweet and chocolaty. A little crispy top, creamy underneath and then the nice, slightly harder base, wonderful! Definitely highly recommended! Anyone who complains about the price here unfortunately doesn't understand the art behind the patisserie. I think the price is, as usual in London, a little higher than in Europe. But definitely justified.

I was quite disappointed with my experience, particularly given the price point. I decided to try the Flan Parisien based on the staff's recommendation, but unfortunately, the pastry fell short of expectations. The Flan Parisien was notably difficult to enjoy. Despite my attempts with both fork and knife, I couldn’t break into the bottom layer of the flan. The pastry was firmly adhered to the paper at the bottom, making it challenging to eat and enjoy. The photo I’ve included illustrates this issue. Whilst the flavour of the flan was pleasant, it didn’t justify the high price. The taste was enjoyable but didn’t provide a memorable experience that would warrant the expense. The coffee was tasty and enjoyable, which was a positive aspect of my visit. In terms of value, I found the pricing to be steep. There are numerous patisseries in London that offer superior products at a better price point. Additionally, I was surprised to find that there is a different pricing structure for dine-in versus take-away, which adds to the overall cost. Overall, while the coffee was a highlight, the issues with the Flan Parisien and the pricing made the experience less satisfying than anticipated.

The place is spectacular, the desserts are superior, the Smoked Salmon Eclair and ST are highly recommended. Honoré, and above all the kindness and charisma of Ana and Elizabeth, an experience in attention and palate

STYLE OVER SUBSTANCE. Very beautiful gâteaux in appearance but seriously lacking in substance and flavour. At £20 for a piece of cake you would expect it to be very enjoyable. I have had better chocolate mousse from the supermarket. Granted, taste is subjective but I'm basing my criteria on the price and similar places around London. Overall, it feels like an expensive tourist trap. At least Ladurée is consistently enjoyable.

This is my third time dining at Hafez and this please keeps surprising me for this delicious food, cozy atmosphere and super friendly staff. The aubergine starter with yogurt is particularly remarkable and the rose tea is the most delicious drink to accompany the dinner. I will definitely come back many times !

I was dining alone and opted for the pre-theatre menu at £29 plus £5 extra for dessert. The service was flawless from start to finish and was paced really well so I never felt rushed. The food was fantastic. It began with well presented starter which was full of colour, flavour and texture. The main course was lovely with a selection of four tasty dishes accompanied by rice and naan bread. I tried the Kala Jamun dessert which was sweet and sticky and perfectly complemented with ice cream. The pre-theatre menu is fantastic value and I look forward to returning soon.

Dinner here was nice but overpriced - seems to cater for American tourists more than locals. Dishes were fresh and had gluten free options, but also seemed a bit over the top for what they were

You must go! Cannot recommend the staff and food enough. The quality is excellent and the pricing is very reasonable. The staff were incredibly informative, attentive and very entertaining. The chefs were all friendly and genuinely seemed passionate when creating and serving the food. Great job guys. A thoroughly enjoyed meal!
