We had a wonderful meal. The service in particular was exceptional. Andrea was very attentive to me and my wife. When I asked him to direct us to the bar, instead of pointing us to the direction, he walked us over and made sure a seat was arranged for us. The food was great, but the level of service is what I remembered most. Visited April 10th

It’s hard not to give The Connaught Grill 5 Stars. Located in the back of the hotel, The CG is a welcome addition to the Connaught’s tour de force of restaurants and bars. We reveled in the full experience on offer, with the table made Crepe Suzette being the star of the show. One for special occasions as the venues prices are higher than many of london finest establishments, but hey you probably knew that already!

Disappointing for what should be a truly outstanding experience.

I was in London for business and ate at so many big name and Michelin starred restaurants. Of all the places we went, the Connaught Grill was by far my favorite. The service is incredible. The wine list is infinite. The bread was the greatest, the scallop was breathtaking. My filet Diane was out of this world. The maitre d was so accommodating to our party. I can't rave about this restaurant enough.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Connaught Grill for a special occasion, and I was absolutely blown away. The menu changes seasonally, but you can always expect to find a wide selection of classic British dishes made with the finest ingredients. I started with the grilled octopus with chorizo and nduja, which was perfectly cooked and seasoned. For my main course, I had the whole fish in a salt crust, which was simply exquisite. The fish was so fresh and flavorful, and the salt crust helped to seal in the juices and create a beautiful presentation. The wine list at The Connaught Grill is one of the most extensive in London, with over 2,000 bottles to choose from. I was particularly impressed with the selection of Burgundy wines. My sommelier was very knowledgeable and helpful in helping me choose the perfect wine to pair with my meal. The service at The Connaught Grill is also top-notch. The staff is attentive and professional, and they go out of their way to make sure that you have a memorable dining experience. Overall, I had an absolutely wonderful time at The Connaught Grill. Fantastic seven course lunch to celebrate a significant birthday. The food was beautifully prepared and presented. The staff were charming and attentive. It was a delight!

I treated myself and a friend for a meal here and was blown away by it creativity within the kitchen a level of service that was professional, but also comforting. The chefs are seriously talented and I would recommend this as a real treat night.

Sat at 7:30 PM and finished around 11:30 PM. Able to accommodate allergies and vegetarian diet last minute. Only negative is waiting time between meals, plan accordingly. Food excellent as expected.

I'm from the states and went with my niece and nephew. The experience was such a joy, it's something I'll remember for the rest of my life. The food was amazing and the service was even better. Overall it was well worth the trip.

First things first, when we first walked in the place looked amazing but then was shown to our table which was too small for the eight of us. But after some shuffling around the staff were more than accommodating and made up for it in spades. From the quality of the food to the service there was little to fault. I've been very lucky to eat in some amazing places and this definitely ranks up with the best of them. A real experience!

3 Jun 2023 The name of the restaurant tells that it's known for the grill... and I must say the bread and the t-bone was absolutely amazing!! I asked for medium rare, and it was really really perfectly done! They recommended the langoustine for the starter and I went for it and I did enjoyed it on that day, but after having at different places after this, I have to say this place one was the least fresh (and I know it's not fair because the other places I had was in Scotland and just caught really really fresh ones. but I want to leave my honest review for myself to read back...) But again, their meat was just really perfectly done... haven't had that perfectness for a while!! I must also say their sauce which they made in front of us was full of umami and absolutely delicious - just a few drops ad already complimented the steaks. aaaaaaaaaaand I haven't had Crêpes Suzette for a looooooong time, and this one was the one I was dying for. Guilty but just perfect.

Was in London on our 10th wedding anniversary. Found this on the Michelin guide. Able to book easily through Open Table. Food was amazing. It’s a lot of food for sure. We did seven course meal. My wife is pregnant and they altered the set meal for her (No shellfish, some desserts pour uncooked alcohol on food at table) and made her feel completely at home. This is my first review and I cannot speak highly enough. They even gave us a special dessert for our anniversary and took a picture for us. Absolutely fantastic dinner. 10/10 would do again.

Great restaurant and great atmosphere. We ate at the grill during our stay at The Connaught hotel. We ordered the Beetroot Carpaccio, Prawns, Salmon and Rack of Lamb. It was all phenomenal but the Beetroot and Lamb stood out the most. Our server was also a pleasure and never felt rushed. Overall great experience.

We went there for dinner on our wedding anniversary. The 7 course tasting menu (with a couple of extras) was a stunning array of culinary works of art, each course with its own 'wow' factor. Delicious, of course, perfectly crafted. The paired wines matched perfectly, of course, and included some we would not have thought of ordering otherwise. The staff were lovely: efficient, friendly, professional, supremely knowledgeable about the food/wine, just delightful. The whole experience (admittedly silly expensive) was stunning, worth it, wonderful.

We’d booked a table for our wedding night and the team contacted us late in the day to offer the chefs table and whole experience was sensational. The taste of sheep odor is too strong to tolerate. Wagyu beef is too salty to taste the flavor of sauce.

When my daughter chose the Connaught Grill for her birthday dinner, I was a bit unwilling. Sounded stuffy, pretentious, overpriced. But she has never been wrong with her food choices, so along we went. We started in one of the bars where we had some lovely looking and tasting drinks, and went on to the grill where we found some lovely selections of beef, fish, scampi, lamb… What surprised me was the range of vegetable sides that were also available. We ordered the Japanese sirloin and several sides, along with a beautiful 2013 L’Hermitage. Dinner ended with the shared Tarte Tatin and a delectable Tokaji port. Service was impeccable yet friendly, and it was a great way to celebrate a loved one’s birthday.

Flawless food + attentive service to celebrate British pie week at The Connaught Grill. The leather and wood booth gave a modern impression and intimate experience. The wine choice was biblical and came with helpful advice. My scotch egg is rich and runny. The jumble prawns were exactly that. The main event was beautifully crafted sea bass pie filleted at the table with great skills. The fish was moist the lid was crispy, triple cooked chips fluffy to perfection and finished off with braised baby leeks. Thanks to all lovely staff for a memorable evening.

Being on a carnivore diet, It is hard to find a steakhouse that actually lives up to its location and price tag. You genuinely feel as though you are in one of London best hotels- which you of course are! 10/10

Any restaurant at the Connaught never fails to impress me. Wonderful service as always, a very chilled and low key environment along with some delicious food. We ordered the sea bass in pastry, it came with two different sauces and we had some sides which were all absolutely delicious. Wine options are great and dessert was also delicious. Recommended

I just called the hotel to make a simple request, for the spa, the girl left me hanging with transferring me...in worked at the Four Seasons so l know service l could be any body..l was calling the restaurant by mistake...

I think this restaurant is super overrated. I ordered the 5 course experience and I found none of it amazing. I have eaten in other restaurants with Michelin stars and this one has disappointed me a lot, I expected more and better flavor, better served dishes. I felt overwhelmed by the staff, in a not friendly atmosphere.

As well as truly exceptional food (my favourite was the Pheasant Truffle supplement closely followed by the Wagyu Beef), the atmosphere was welcoming and we were also lucky to get a kitchen tour as it was for my dad’s birthday. Loved it!!

It was the first time my wife and I have eaten at Helene Darroze’s restaurant though have eaten at several 3 star Michelin restaurants previously. I’m pleased to say we weren’t disappointed, both the food and staff were excellent. On top of the standard 7 course set menu we chose 2 dishes from the Truffle menu, scallops and the pheasant both were amazing and we’re definitely loving the white truffle. Wine is expensive at £140 for the Chablis but was really nice. Quality of food was also really good and we struggled getting through all dishes! Although there were only 7 dishes, there were probably as many again when you add canapés and extra dishes provided by the chef. An extra was also the opportunity to visit the kitchen which I love doing elsewhere and would definitely recommend doing at Helene Darroze as it makes you appreciate the huge amount of work and the number of staff it takes to prepare your food and hence the cost. Loved this restaurant and would love to come back. Definitely recommend!!

This is such an amazing restaurant. Amazing staff and environment! The warm service made me feel that the whole experience is the best in London so far. Thanks for Enrico and Giuseppe specially to make our lunch experience wonderful! They made us feel so warm and welcomed! This is the best part of experience throughout the whole journey of visit. The food is great with large portion for each course, which made the price worthy. We spent such a nice afternoon here, and I have highly recommended this restaurant to many of my friends. The desserts are also amazing! I like the scallop the most.

Beyond disappointing , the food was not good, a few things on the menu was extra charge, for that price there shouldn't be any extra charges. I am not sure how it got all these Micheline starts. I would not recommend this restaurant to anybody.

Fantastic multi course meal. My husband had the regular meal and I had the vegetarian version. Sometimes the vegetarian meals can feel like an afterthought but that was definitely not the case here. Highly recommend!

First the good… the reservations team was excellent. We had 4 surprise guests and the reservations team was able to extend our reservation to 8 persons on very short notice. The good news ends there. My son and I lunched at the same restaurant last year and the menu simply hadn’t changed! I find that seriously disappointing from a well regarded chef. Next the service…. Tired, absent, and extremely slow. Our lunch - 5 courses took 4 hours. This meant that we waited for extraordinary lengths of time between courses. As a result the food was also substandard. The cuttlefish with XO sauce was rubbery and did not go with a potato accompaniment! The duck was worst of all - cold, over cooked and salty! The deserts were prepared by amateurs and lacked precision and care. The other courses were simply ok! Not once did anyone ask how our meal was faring!!! Appalling experience and I / we will never be back. I would strongly discourage diners … simply not worth it …. At all.

That’s just got to be the best value 7 Course 3 Michelin star Lunch out there today. It was simply stunning 😍to taste and stunning in value! The experience was even better when I decided to ask the Sommelier (Lukas) to choose only one wine for the whole meal and the Austrian organic wine was simply exquisite too that he chose. Not too fancy in the usual ‘reveals’ of meals you usually get elsewhere - but flavours of from the duck and lobster courses were amazing. As my wife likes vegetarian options they even swapped the duck course for a beautiful leek wellington - which was 🤩 awesome. It’s a definite return trip to London to this one ! (And I’ve never said that to any Michelin restaurant before)

One of the best Michelin starred restaurants

It’s a great experience to have a 3-starred Michelin restaurant meal yesterday, I was very enjoying in the meal. However, there’s some pity that I have to say. First, the way of confirmation of the booking was weird. I received a call to confirm the booking but the staff wanted me to say my card number in order to guarantee the booking, which was strange , maybe you let me type the card number on the website, booking system or using Apple Pay, your way to confirm the booking is so weird that I suspected it’s a fraud. Secondly, we ordered the 7-courses tasting menu last night, but we waited for a extremely long time before main dish coming, approximately 40mins, which cause everyone has finished the meal but we haven’t. Not only we were the last-leaving table of guests last night but also we were forced to cancel the next schedule because of the delay of the main dish. But I have to say, this restaurant is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever tried, but some pity made the experience not as nice as I felt.

Very good restaurant, typical helene darroze, but not sure at all why it received a 3rd michelin star and if it is justified, even if compared to others in London it might be the case, Michelin guide being quite unfairly treating restaurant in its own kindgom of France VS where it competes with others. Not as bad as in NCY though. Food is not light and following the post pandemic trend in London, sauces are a main source of calories, as well as the desserts, the noble ingredients being more scarce. But is is of very good quality. The price is justified, even if really this should be a very solid 2* star so not the bargain you might think it is. Wine list is superb but prices are mostly stratospheric, corkage doubled in a few years but still more fair. The room has been completely refurbished and it is a shame, the quiet, private and classy atmosphere is gone, replaced by a cacophonie of textures, materials and pastel colors, looking more like a trying to be trendy 1990s hotel luxury brasserie. Overall a solid restaurant, but really not the exceptional experience you could expect if you have been lucky enough to experience some more unique 3* michelin restaurant before.

The food and service are incredible. But I’m afraid the overall experience is let down by the kids in hoodies and trainers hunched over their phones. I guess that’s the clientele a central London 3* restaurant attracts, and the restaurant has to go with it. Any imposition of a dress code or phone restrictions would no doubt soon be shot down by these entitled offspring

Didn’t respect dietary requirement so waited again for them to re-make. An insect fly into my drink and the staff took the bottle away then never came back with replacement. The food is generic and generally on the salty side. Overall couldn’t believe this is 3star as no where near Fat Duck/Waterside Inn etc.

It was my wife's birthday and we had not been to this restaurant before but had frequented a number of other 3 Michelin star establishments in London. They have all been superb but this restaurant took everything to the next level. 4* Michelin stars anyone?. The service from the booking process through to the desert and bar experience afterward was exemplary. Nothing was too much trouble. We were lucky enough to experience the chef's table and the wonderful theatre this involved. The food and pairings were delightful and a sight to behold. I experienced the surprise of the non-alcoholic pairing created by the sommelier, just brilliant The whole team made our year and my wife's birthday. I was underwhelmed. The portions were generous, the baba over generous. The upgrades were okay and overpriced. This was a two star experience for me.

Excellent tasting menu in a relaxed atmosphere. Really great for a birthday or special occasion.

Every year around Christmas time I take my mother out for a special meal and experience. Helene Darroze was without doubt special and we had a lovely, lovely evening. I feel terrible saying anything negative knowing how much effort, innovation and creation it takes to put a menu like this together. I will just say two things; too many staff (different staff) coming to the table asking if everything is ok. Each time was quite a disturbance (a lot of staff at Waterside in and The Fat Duck, but they have mastered how to do this). Lastly, the bill came to £841, for the 5 course tasting menu, one Kir Royale, three double gin and tonics, one glass of wine and one armagnac. This is about 40% more than I have paid before and I have been to all three Michelin restaurants is this country, plus other abroad. Not sure the food justify this additional cost compared to other three star restaurants. However, there's no denying the food is amazing.

Probably the best tasting menu I’ve ever had. Wine matching also superb. The staff were without exception the best I’ve encountered. The surprise invitation to visit the kitchen at the half way point was a real treat. We will never forget the whole experience

Staff is showing the service but not in the most comfortable way.

After a lot of anticipation, the day finally arrived to go to this restaurant, we were so excited for the food journey ahead of us. Imagine, then, if you can, the sliding disappointment when dish after dish comes out either low in taste, under seasoned or badly executed. The serving staff took away most plates with the majority of food still on the plate and quickly stopped asking “how was it?”. Ultimately, it was a disaster and one we’ll never repeat. How they have earned 3 stars will always be a mystery to me, I’ve had far superior offerings, for far less money, at many no-star establishments in London.

If you dine here with friends make sure they know how much it is going to cost them. While paying for outstanding food and service is never going to be easy for ordinary folk like me, it is worth a treat now and again. Beware, the cost of beverages, they will more than double the final bill. I do believe the very best of restaurants should still offer lower priced wines for those that want to enjoy the complete occasion but rarely do you find Michelin starred places that offer affordable wines. La Gavrouche is an exception and others should follow.

Absolutely love Michelin dining but you are in a conundrum when choosing from the menu. There are so many supplements that you can easily go over the top with it. We ended up with a £1200 bill and only had one wine flight between us. It was nice but I didn't feel it warranted the cost and some dishes were not a hit like others. You cannot deny the very pretty plating. I'd recommend Claude Bosi at Bibendum or Clare Smyth at Core if you want spectacular food at a good price and also littered with stars.

Generally speaking the food was excellent and impeccable. But I felt there was something missing. It was a great lunch but nothing more or nothing less, my very personal opinion is that it seems there was no identity, passion or soul in the dishes that have been served. I also was very unfortunate as when I drunk my last sip of wine, I found out they poured into my glass all the wine's sediments from the bottle. Lastly I would expect tables with a tablecloth in a 3 Michelin Stars restaurant.

We experienced lunch at the restaurant and it was perfect in every way from the moment we arrived until leaving. One of the best restaurants we have visited ever. We shall be back.

We had a wonderful lunch at Helene Darroze on Wednesday. The whole experience was perfect. Very attentive staff and lots of extra courses which were beautifully presented.

We went with our 10 year old and 8 year old children as a special occasion. We (and particularly the children) were treated so well and made to feel so so comfortable. The service was the highest level and the little flourishes much appreciated
