This is a fabulous pub, indeed,to me,the best in the Colne Valley by a country mile. Gary, the Landlord and his friendly/very capable staff are brilliant and the Real Ales on offer (several rotating) are always TOP NOTCH. I chose this as the venue for my Retirement-do and I'm sure it was a very good decision. Beer gardens are a massive plus in Summer, particularly the one tucked away round the back and if you're "into" Craft Beer ,up the hill 20 yards on the right is part of the same establishment.

The beer was great here and the prices were absolutely outstanding. Yet another great pub on the Ale Trail.

I should've enjoyed this pub, a welcome stop while hiking. It's got everything going for it--a central location, a good traditional design, some outside seating, a decent choice of ales, etc.--and, on my visit, a pleasant young barman. Unfortunately, there were a couple of loudly ranting racists at the bar, so I left after one pint. To the barman's credit, he dissociated himself from them--but they were pugnacious, middle-aged locals, and neither of us had the bottle to take them on. Everyone's entitled to their views, but good manners would tone them down in company. Not the pub's fault, so I've rated the Commercial good overall.

Wouldn’t let me snifff cosine off their table, and wouldn’t let me put my feet on the table, also one of the bar staff knocked my drink out of my hand and made me drink tequila

Always a pleasure visiting here. Great range of soups and reasonably priced coffee £2 or pot of tea £1.60 (Dec '18). The staff are friendly and there's a outdoor seating area which in summer is a real sun trap.

Omg came today for a mothers day fry up after hearing so many good things about this place and I certainly wasn't disappointed. I had the Jumbo breakfast with tea and toast . I have to say this is the best breakfast I've ever had and I've had a few . Everything was fresh, good produce used and sooooo tasty . I will be returning for sure . Looking at the menu in general there's plenty of choice and great prices too . 😋
