We ordered lunch, sadly their fish cakes did not disclose cheese only discovered it when I cut into it. Initially chef seemed uninterested, they eventually sent a young member of staff gp who bought me a replacement for the fish cake and apologised. Did confirm they will indicate on the menu in fiputure.

Came into get two sausage rolls and two hot chocolates to go, got to the car to find the pastry of the sausage rolls were crispy on the outside and doughy in the middle and over priced, I wouldn’t say the were worth £4.50. They were worse than ones from greggs, I feel I’ve been robbed.

How lovely. A little vintage gem tucked away. Best bap we've ever had. Lovely staff who let us park in disabled car park despite no badge. Lovely breakfast, coffee, smell of cookies baking..... What more could you want! A little cold but 0900 and just opened and it is February! 5 stars. And I'm hard to please x

One of the worst flat whites ever - tasted of hot milk with a hint of coffee. A shame staff aren’t trained how to make a decent coffee when premium prices are being charged!

A very relaxed and relatively clean place to let children run around safely. People to ask what is happening and places to see. Around worth visiting especially with a picnic?

After visiting Cogges Farm (Yew Tree Farm) in Downton. We stopped for lunch. Cogges Kitchen is an old barn that has been converted. The barn is very tastefully decorated and has a cosy feel. We thought there was a good selection of food choices. We ordered from the menu and sat down. They brought the food to us, which we both enjoyed.

For lunchtime the menus was limited, but the food served was very good. Staff were friendly and helpful. We didn't find the blend of tea used to be very nice, but this is probably just our personal preference. After visiting the farm we went back for coffee and cake. Very nice cake. I thought the prices were very reasonable. Happy to go back again when visiting Cogges Manor.

I've eaten at The Cogges Kitchen twice and had coffee/cake on a few more occasions. Each time it's been disappointing. Why did I go back? I really like it's sister cafe in Witney, Coffeesmith (great coffee, food and service), it's convenient while visiting Cogges Farm and.... well coffee shouldn't be that difficult should it... so I've given it the benefit of the doubt. The last time I visited was Saturday. I ordered a flat white and cappucino. The cappucino had no milk foam whatsoever and the flat white resembled a smaller version of the non-cappucino. I pointed this out to the barista and she asked, with attitude, whether I'd like her to make it again. Errr, for £2.50 each, yes please. The next versions weren't much better and tasted odd, but I needed to get on so left it at that... Both times we've eaten, items from the menu have been unavailable, the staff seem inexperienced and disorganised and waiting times for food have been long, despite the cafe not being particularly busy. I think I'm writing this because this place has so much potential and when it opened it promised so much. It seems to be rapidly going down hill, with staff that don't seem to care, lack of management, an uninspiring menu and a tired, untidy interior (a long way from the bright, welcoming photos of the cafe when it first opened). I really want to like this cafe and support a local business, but I can't think of any reasons to return :-(

We hired The Cogges Kitchen after our daughter’s christening for a family afternoon tea. The food was delicious and Rob and Sarah were very flexible to meet our requirements. The Cogges Kitchen was a great place for an informal family gathering with plenty of space for little ones to run around. Thank you!

Popped in after a wander around the Christmas market, just to get a takeaway coffee. No queue at the till so ordered straight away, just a skimmed milk flat white please. Three or four people gathered around the coffee machine waiting to collect, so I waited to the side. Luckily I moved forward just as my drink was being made and noticed it was being made with full fat milk. Pointed this out and asked for it to be made as I’d ordered, with skimmed milk. Attitudey, stroppy response from the barista, it’s semi skimmed. No, I just watched you make my drink full fat. Another member of staff points out there’s skimmed in the fridge. Stroppy barista says I’ll have to wait now, only he’s got a lot of orders on, then remakes my coffee in the most half-assed way possible, slopping coffee into the cup and lobbing over some barely warmed (but skimmed!) milk and slamming it down in front of me with a snarl. Your staff’s inability to listen and communicate isn’t my problem, it’s yours. If you make a mistake, apologise and correct with a smile. I know it’s busy at Cogges today for the Christmas market, but lots of places are busy all the time and manage to provide nice service and great coffee. I got neither today, so although this is my ‘local’ cafe, I simply won’t bother again. Never mind.

Whilst the food was not terrible, the choices are incredibly limited and eye-wateringly expensive. I'm not quite sure which planet the people running this place are from, but £7 for a sausage roll and a small handful of lettuce leaves is ridiculous.

We called in here as an alternative to the motorway on a trek up north. The breakfast menu was more limited than we expected but what we had was well cooked and obviously good ingredients. Cappucino coffee was slightly too mild and over-powered by the chocolate on top. A great place to stop on a long car journey and plenty gonig on on the farm too.

Been there twice when visiting Cogges' Farm. On both occasions the service was painfully slow - seemed overwhelmed despite it being relatively quiet. Only samples hot drinks (coffee good) and cakes (very tasty). However, we thought it was very expensive - e.g. ordinary tea £2.50.

Yes it's the school holidays and there was a heavy shower so it's bound to be busy but there really is no excuse for the shambles we faced at lunchtime. We ordered pre-downpour so it shouldn't take 40 mins for a kids picnic and jacket spud. As for the picnic, £4.50 for a small ham roll, tiny box of raisins, cheap carton of juice and a lump of flapjack didn't feel like great value. Staff trying their best but floundering and no-one seemingly in charge.

After a lovely walk around the buildings in Cogges, we popped into the tea shop for a flapjack and hot chocolate. Both were very good, but it is worth coming in here to sit in the beautiful building itself. The beams alone are worth visiting for! The café is bright and large with a good selection of hot food and pastries and cakes. I can't comment on the hot food as we didn't try any of it, but I enjoyed the experience of sitting in the room itself for half an hour.

I took my parents and daughter for lunch. Unfortunately we were all left disappointed with the quality of the food served. My daughter had a children's picnic box there was one cheese roll left in the fridge, it was completely stale so I asked if they could make a fresh one. When it arrived the roll was stale, had no butter in it at all (no idea if they'd given us the stale one from the fridge or another stale roll they'd been saving.) The guy brought it over to us with his fingers and seemed surprised when I asked for a plate or a serviette. The flapjack in the lunchbox was also like a rock (must have been several days old).

I'm a massive fan of coffeesmith in Witney. I popped in for a coffee in cogges kitchen expecting similar greatness. I was hugely disappointed. The takeaway coffees are tiny and I'm sad to say overpriced for what they are. The service was mediocre..gruff and non communicative. I handed over my contactless card expecting to be handed the payment device but he took it and tapped it for me somewhere behind the coffee machine..no idea how much I'd paid until I asked for "the receipt please" by which point he replied "hang on a minute" as he had moved onto the next customer. I wouldn't say I'll never go again but I definitely won't have a takeaway again, too small, too pricey and service made me feel very un- special

Called in for breakfast on Sunday. Was looking forward to it as had been here before and enjoyed it, but this was a real let down. We both had the full English, the sausages were underdone, the eggs "snotty" and the beans not only luke warm but also where they had previously been served in a ramekin they were just slopped on the plate and the juice was everywhere. The staff seemed more interested in larking about than serving. Its definitely put me off going again.

Lovely little play area to have a tea/coffee before or after visiting Cogges. We had a pot of tea each and a chocolate brownie which we found slightly dry. We areregular visitors of Cogges farm as a family of 5 with 3 children under the age of 6. The food in the cafe was very tasty, I had the pancakes with maple syrup and bananas and delicious crispy bacon, delicious when we last visited. I visited again today and although it was after the brunch menu finishing at midday the helpful member of staff offered to make the pancakes even though it was outside their normal time for brunch. I declined only because it was nearly 4pm and close to teatime. Instead I had a lovely ginger flapjack which tasted homemade at a reasonable price of £1 and my 2 kids had milkshakes which they v much enjoyed. The latte was very nice too.

We have been coming here after the school pick up for last few years with our kids as we use to enjoy a tea or coffee while the kids played. We'd also treat the kids to a kids hot chocolate or an ice lolly without it costing a fortune but now they CANT get any of these things. Also I don't find the staff that friendly one little bit I was there today after picking my eldest up from school. And was no mini milks only the pricey ice creams.

We were puzzled that the helpful staff brought the drinks to our table, but we then had to go back to the counter to get 'the milk jug'. (Only one jug??) .Our other suggestion was to better sign the WCs which were not readily visible 50 yards from the Museum Reception behind a wall, or better still provide the cafe with their own WCS close by.

Had a three night stay at the Bell loved it! I extended our stay by a night and couldn’t get the same room as our original booking not disappointed in any way. Our first night was in Teasel a lovely room plenty of room with a nice shower wash room. Nice big comfortable bed. Friday and Saturday night we stayed in the room Hazel it’s situated above the barn. Amazing room with great views across countryside. This room is big loads of space to chill after a busy day in the Cotswolds. A super king sized bed and lovely shower /bathroom (huge bath). We weren’t going to dine at the Bell but as we had booked the extra night decided to have evening meal and breakfast on our first night. Both meals were delicious so also booked for Friday evening again delicious. The staff at the Bell are all very friendly and helpful hard working as whatever we asked nothing was too much trouble whatsoever . Thanks to all at the Bell for making our first visit to the Cotswolds a very special experience. Richard and Keeli x

Following a family emergency, I rang to cancel my table and was charged £70 without my permission. They will say it's on the website, however it wasn't prominent enough for me to notice during the booking process. We had been before and found the food OK and the staff a little arrogant but wanted to try again as hoped it was an anomaly as the surroundings are lovely. There will not be a third time, I have been told by several people that this business makes a loss, that is hearsay and I can't confirm that but after this cynical charge, it would seem they have to make money at all costs.
