The Coffee Pot in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Fantastic find on our day trip to Bude. My husband had a delicious gluten free breakfast (finding somewhere good that's gluten free isn't always easy) and I enjoyed the American pancakes & a cappuccino. A quaint little place with a good atmosphere (music, layout etc). I would definitely return if I was ever in Bude again!

Stopped here as we do every year we visit for a breakfast very good service and tasty food, just want you need after a morning in the sea.

Oh dear. Having passed this place many times we decided we might give it a go. It was sunny and so we sat outside. There is very little space between the café’s curtilage and the pavement, enough room to get in four or five picnic type tables, a couple of which had umbrellas. Otherwise, the area is untroubled by any kind of decoration. The form is that you go inside and order and that they bring your order out to you. Inside I was greeted – or more accurately not greeted - by an unsmiling lady whose mood may have been occasioned by the inconvenience of having to break off from her conversation to take an order. Or maybe it was caused by the prospect of doing something about the very visible large pile of used plates and crockery waiting for someone to wash them up. Our coffee arrived fairly promptly accompanied by a rather dismal apricot Danish, which may have been seeing daylight for the third or fourth time that week. The coffee was passable, but in a resort town like Bude the bar is set fairly high and passable doesn’t really do it. I don’t know if the place is run by its owners, but in the unlikely event that they are reading this, here are some tips. Put a bit of thought into making the outside more appealing. If you can afford it, put a palm tree in one of the corners or at very least get some greenery. And while you’re about it, junk those picnic tables. Many of the elderly and the disabled can’t use them and anyway you’re not a country pub. And whether the place is run by you or your staff – smile at the customers. They’ve got what you’re after – money. The catch is they’ve got choice too.

This is a brilliant little coffee shop, slightly out of the main hustle and bustle of the High Street of Bude. Definitely recommend it. We had milkshakes which were very yummy. The barrister was very personable and helped with recommendations. Great place for a break .

The cream tea was excellent! Homemade scones very good, served by lovely friendly staff who were very accommodating!

We come here for breakfast couple times a month, staff are lovely, food is fantastic and always well presented. Highly recommend this cafe.

BIG thanks to the two ladies working on Saturday afternoon (22/07). Although they were closing, they let us in and made us a warming hot chocolate, as we were soaking wet having ridden our classic Vespas from Liskeard through constant storms. Thanks also to the young lady who helped me dismantle and dry my soggy phone.

Average food, would order breakfasts to be delivered when they use to be on just eat. Although most of the food was nice the bacon was terrible and used to be just mostly fat. They would very often be missing items and occasionally would be missing a whole meal if we were ordering for more people. Paid extra for extra items to be added and then wouldn’t be on there and the wait was sometimes only ten minutes and other times over an hour. Sausages and milkshakes were very nice.

Really nice place to grab an all day breakfast! Caters for both classic fry up or veggie and vegan! No scrimping on portion sizes this is our fave little place to grab breakfast for the day! Dog friendly too!

Enjoyed a delicious breakfast here which set my fiancé and I up nicely for our day in Bude (incidentally, my very first time in Cornwall). Paul and I both enjoyed the breakfast (he ordered the meaty and I the veggie), plus coffees and fresh orange juice. Staff were more than happy to swap items in the veggie breakfast option so I feel I got value for money. Paul said the bacon and sausage were delicious and good quality. Food delivered rapidly and was a good temperature. My only qualm would be the lack of customer toilets but we were directed to Sainsbury’s supermarket for nearest toilet, which was only a two minute walk away. Overall, a very positive experience. Friendly staff, delicious food, reasonable price for a tourist town; what more could you want? We’ll certainly be returning to the Coffee Pot on our next visit to beautiful Bude!

Well what a cafe Decided to visit for a cream tea Absolutely wonderful we order 2 cream teas My friend only wanted 1 scone so when we had finished I went to pay they only charged for 1 cream tea and a extra scone a wonderful touch That's why I like to pay after service so good service can be rewarded When we where leaving they brought out some food orders my god the biggest jacket potato I have ever seen

Bijou and bustling, this refuelling stop at the top of Bude's main street, Belle Vue, is deservedly popular. The service is friendly and welcoming and the breakfasts, pancakes and baps etc were declared delicious, even from the three-year-old fusspot.

Visited late morning with my wife, we had brunch. I had a black coffee - fantastic!! Smelt like strong coffee, black! Tasted fabulous - how often can you say that. Should be so simple - yet I’m disappointed do often, that’s why I’m so pleased to write this glowing review. So thank you Coffee Pot for a ‘cracking cup of black strong coffee’ which I was thanked them for. I can I also recommend their Coffee Pot burger - which in addition to being very tasty - certainly fills an empty tummy! Throughly recommend - enjoy when you visit

Whole experience shambolic! Over 40 minutes for our drinks and still hadn’t received our food over 50 minutes after ordering. No quibble refund which made me think this was a regular occurrence. Not one of the staff had designated roles and one drink would arrive...

Lovely little cafe. Food and drinks were both lovely, we went there for breakfast before a walk along the southwest coastal path. Staff were friendly and working as quick as they can with a busy cafe.

Awful! Avoid. Do not understand how it achieved the reviews submitted. Service was woeful. Toilets grubby- customers commenting out loud. The cheese scone tea was a joke- not even real butter but “fat spread” and tiny bowl of dried out cheese. Yuck!

We visited twice today having lunch and then returning after shopping for a hot drink. The food prices are reasonable and the quality of food excellent. Very friendly staff and recommended for families and also noticed that they are dog friendly.

Went in here for breakfast a few times and it was beautiful, good choice, quality ingredients and well cooked with friendly staff, it's only a small place that can get full quickly, so you may have to wait for a table which we gladly did.

Can highly recommend The Coffee pot. Only two young men, doing everything, cooking, serving and the coffee was delicious. If you are in Bude, the food is good, the price is good and the two young men were helpful and polite. Good find👍

The lovely people at The Coffee Pot sold us some really delicious scones so we could take them home and have a cream tea. We weren't in a position to eat in the cafe which was a real pity but we will be paying future visits to the Bude area and will plan a visit then.

We popped in today, mainly because it was dog friendly but we’re so glad we did! The breakfast was really big, good value and super tasty! Also had a perfect toasted tea cake and pot of tea. Our dog even got a couple of biscuits! Lovely friendly place that’s reasonably priced! Would recommend

A great find! Was in Bude for the day and wanted a nice brunch and TripAdvisor steered us to this wonderful cafe. The welcome for us and our little Westie Pippa was great and all the food and the lovely Puro Coffee was fantastic. We had eggs benedict and a great bacon, brie and cranberry bagette and everything tasted great at a good price. For 'afters' the selection of cakes was lovely and really enjoyable. In all we loved it and will definitely 100% return and recommend!!!!!

We went to the cafe today for breakfast/brunch. The price and the food were very nice. Good value. Such friendly service. My only complaint is the toilet. Guys you really need to take a bottle of bleach in there and clean it. I would replace the really grotty toilet seat also.

My friends and I visited this morning after a little jaunt through Bude. The man who was serving was extremely accommodating and his customer service was wonderful. Everyone who walked through the door was attended to straight away. The breakfasts we had were cooked to perfection and were just what we needed! Thank you ever so much!

We came here twice during our holiday and would recommend it to anyone. The atmosphere was lovely and laid back, the staff couldn't have been friendlier and the food was delicious. We had tasty paninis which came with chips, coleslaw and salad for £6 which we thought was very reasonable for the quantity and quality of food. A huge range of hot and cold drinks at equally reasonable prices and the cakes are just incredible...We were full after lunch but took some away and they were just scrummy. Dog friendly and covid safe.
