We stopped off here mid-morning on a Wednesday, en route to Inverness. Received a warm and friendly welcome. Dufftown is definitely a sleepy village, and there were only two others in the cafe. I spied a table with a radiator beside and headed there to sit! We had a pot of tea and a cappuccino, a delicious Lemon and Coconut Slice and a massive Brownie, which was definitely double the size most places offer. The tray bakes were delicious. This is a very welcoming place to stop, and they have a super menu. Just sorry we aren't in the area all that often.

We've often stopped here on our way to or back from holiday. The food is always good but the wait is long. I think they could be doing with another member of staff. The lass who was serving is very efficient and knows how to multitask and is rushed off her feet! Whatever they are paying her it's not enough!

Super wee coffee shop where we stopped for lunch. Opted for a breakfast-style lunch as we were midway between both and we were impressed by the quality of the food and the service which was exemplary. The friendly waitress was meticulous in the way she dealt with distancing and hygiene requirements, and very fair in the way she balanced these vital tasks with service. There were tables with hand sanitiser on the way in and out of both premises and toilets and this new way of eating out safely seemed to have caught on among relaxed, cheerful locals and visitors alike. We were offered our tea while we waited, or later when the food arrived, which was a nice touch especially for my companion who usually finds his has gone lukewarm by the time the meal is served. This wasn't quite our first meal out since lockdown, but it was the first far beyond our home patch and we thought the intelligent, thoughtful service made it extra special for us.One hint is to look at the back of the single-use menus. We were too busy chatting to notice there was more on the other side. Still would have chosen the same.Only passing through, but there was enough in Dufftown to make us stop for a wee walk and be determined to go back there one day.

On the 24/07/2020 had a takeaway fish supper, £7. Decided to drive to a quiet layby to have my meal. On opening the polystyrene package, I discovered that the chips are of the frozen variety and the fish was one half of a whole one. Perhaps as I am a pensioners, they may have thought that I could not manage a whole one. I know that times are hard just now, but cutting back on portions is not good for business. Don't be lazy either and get real chips. Not impressed by your Highland hospitality.

So I can unequivocally say the food was delicious! The one young lady working was so sweet but poor young lady was all by herself which made the wait long. They definately need better staffing even the locals were leaving upset. It is also one of the only places in Dufftown that serves breakfast. So arrive extra early.

My wife and I dropped in for lunch. The cafe is new , very clean with efficient and friendly staff. The coffee is very good. They serve baked potatoes, paninis, sandwiches etc. They also have cakes and scones. It is an ideal stop for a light lunch or just a coffee and cake. For breakfast they serve filled rolls, toast etc. The prices are reasonable. The only downside is lack of parking. The location will be very handy for Moray Council employees whose offices are very close by.

We often stop in Dufftown. It is such a quaint little town, but with this huge wide road through it, but so often just like a ghost town. There are not many choices of places to have a snack or lunch at all as many have closed down and others are closed. On this occasion we headed for The Coffee Pot. My husband had a very nice panini - bacon and cheese, followed by an Ice Cream Sundae. The dessert contained nice ice cream, but no fruit, or the flake and wafer mentioned on the menu - rather overpriced at £5.50 for what it was. As I cannot eat for health reasons I just had a latte. There is a nice bakery adjoining, and an ice cream freezer, and some nice little bits and pieces for sale. I have to say that the service was a bit slow to start with, as the waitress seemed more intend on cleared 2 or 3 tables and cleaned them than taking our order. We tried for ages to catch her eye, before she actually finally came across. Thereafter it was okay service, but certainly not fast, even though there were only three other people eating at the time.

don't bother going to this café any where else would be better. As I was eating my food I wanted a napkin and there was no one staff around to ask to get me one so I went and got a napkin from the side where they were at (bearing in mind the was just a shelf that has napkins and cutlery on it and wasn't in the kitchen or anywhere out of sight) but as I was helping myself to the napkin the woman came into the seating area and was offended and started making sarcastic comments saying I was making myself at home, after that I sat down continued eating my food in shock debating just leaving then they came back up to the table again and made comments, didn't realise it was such a big deal getting a napkin

We popped into this cafe hoping to get a quick lunch before a tour we had booked at Glenfiddich Distillery. We ordered a soup, chips and two sandwiches and waited an hour. A waitress apologised and told us the food would be ten more minutes due to a mixup: it arrived almost half an hour after that. The cafe was almost empty, we have no idea how such simple food could possibly take so long to prepare. We had to ask for it to be packaged to go, and eat it while rushing to get to the distillery. It really doesn't make sense!

My boyfriend and I stopped at the Coffee Pot after visiting Balvenie Castle. The food - a sandwich and soup for me, and a club sandwich and chips for my boyfriend - took over an hour to arrive. While we took note of the sign that says all food is cooked fresh and will take more time to be served, that length was far too long for what we ordered. The food was also of average quality.

I had a good breakfast here recently. There was the option for a smaller breakfast or a larger one - I opted for the smaller one which was well cooked and was plenty big enough. The only bit I wondered about was that it came with half a Lorne sausage - found it strange that anyone would think of serving just half of it! I wished it had been the whole one and thought that was going just a bit too far. But otherwise, it was delicious and a good portion size. The cappuccino was good, too. Pleasant service and it didn't take very long to be served. The dining area felt a bit sterile but at least clean and spacious. I would return, and can recommend the breakfast.

My initial choice of eatery was closed in the offseason, but had passed the Coffee Pot many times as I travel through Dufftown on the way home. All I wanted was a quick easy snack, and this place delivered. My cheese, tomato and ham toastie with chips may not be haute cuisine, but the toastie was delicious. With my tea I could not resist going back for a tray bake which appears to be home made. Service was quick and friendly. I happened to visit during a busy period, but the lady serving was polite and efficient to all her customers. Yes, there are plastic chairs and the decor is from the 1970's but that's all part of the charm. Even down to the cup and saucer, everything was from a different age, but the place is clean and welcoming. I overheard the lady running it is retiring. I cannot believe previous reviews about unfriendly service as she was always smiling. If you want cheap, basic and good food, give this place a try while you still can. You will not regret it.

Lots of tables , plastic chairs and plastic tablecloths . Very clean . Lentil soup was made with ham cubes , no bacon so cost very little to make n doesn't justify the price I paid also the bread given was a tiny square of white thin bread. We are grown adults and made to feel like naughty children for daring to ask for more ketchup to accompany the fry up. Not a nice feeling while eating out The food wasn't expensive by no means so I guess u get what u pay for . Maybe they were having a bad day while we were in. Not a bad price but there's a reason that it's that price . 2 sausages (not great & a bit over cooked), 2 bits of bacon (fatty & bland), an egg which was passable & 2 slices of white toast . Not a full breakfast by any means ! The place itself if clean & tidy with pleasant staff. Ok for what it is , just don't expect gourmet for a fiver.

Every time we visit Dufftown, we always make a bee-line for the Coffee Pot. The food is always what you want, served by very friendly staff - always happy to give you a bit of chatter while they whizz round serving everyone. Always a good feed at a good price, just what we look for in a cafe like this. Genuine staff, real food, and a perfect pit-stop for busy tourists.

Food was poor, the cheese toasty was very greasy and repeated on my friend for 24hrs. My burgher arrived with one mean sachet of tomato sauce, you would have though I had sworn at them when asked if I could have more... All the furniture the cheap plastic cheap patio type that garden centres have on offer ever year... They are obviously aiming at one off tourist visits because nobody in their right mind would go back!

We called in here while we were waiting for a tour to start at the local Glenfiddich distillery, my guests who wanted to do the tour fancied a cooked breakfast and we came across The Coffee Pot.On entering we discovered a nice little cafe with home bakes and a decent menu, cooked breakfast being one of the options. Altogether we had 3 coffees, a cooked breakfast and a rock cake which came to about £9 in all. The staff were very friendly, the atmosphere was pleasant and the food was good quality. There is on street parking, a small step down into the cafe but I would say it's pushchair and wheel chair friendly. All in all a lovely little place to call in for a coffee or light snack, a decent breakfast too.

Daily soup was hot and sandwiches very white bread, the place appears to be a place for locals. Okay for quick lunch.

Great homemade lentil soup and good toasties and very reasonably priced. The decor is dated, the facilities are basic but spotlessly clean, but if you want good honest homely snacks for lunch look no further!

Been twice, yes its a bit old fashioned with wax table cloths. But look past that & enjoy freshly cooked food at great prices.I had an all day breakfast at 4.30, two slices of toast & butter, poached egg, two sausages, two huge thick bits of bacon, plus a coffee.Price £5.25 in 2014, great value.Ok its not highly decorated, last time i was there it was a bitty cold inside, but the food & staff more than made up for it.Only complaint, i had to ask for a napkin, & only got one thin one .Still great value..You want posh, eat elsewhere, you need hot good tasting food at a good price, its your place to be

Pat's coffee shop is excellent. She is more like a friend than a coffee shop owner. Always has the latest news about Dufftown. Food is always good.

Oh lordy, we were stopped by the lady servers before we could escape. The decor is lost in the 80s and the menu is that of a cafe/greasy spoon, with tiny traybakes. We ended up with toasties which was si greasy I could barely keep down. The 'coffee' was like the weakest cheap instant and tasted more of the liuttke milk added.Every other customer looked miserable too, there was just no where else open.*We later learnt the Glenfiddich distillery cafe is open to people not even doing tours - go there!!!*

The place was freezing and I had to keep my jacket on. The coffee was black or white and the bacon roll I had was certainly not the best I.ve ever eaten. I think the roll was old as it had been toasted to within an inch of its life and fell apart as I tried to eat it. While I was there 2 couples put their heads through the door and went back out- wish I had done! Take my advice walk a few minutes further on and go to the Glassworks for great coffee and cakes.

Had a lovely light lunch here, tasty homemade soup. The two ladies serving were chatty and cheerful. Basic cafe, but we have been a few times and have not been disappointed. We would certainly pop in again!

Came here as a small family looking for lunch on a dreich day. A grumpy looking middle-aged woman stood near the till reading something and didn't even bother to look up upon our arrival. This was surprising as the place was empty.Stood at the till for a minute before coughing to get her attention. Weren't given a menu but when requested what the soup of the day was we were met with a 'what?' and then 'oh, that's....'.We settled for a quick cuppa before leaving and finding somewhere else. Even the tea was what could be described as 'bottom end of the market' stuff.Like another reviewer has said, there is something old-fashioned about this place but not in a good way. How it survives, I don't know.

Awesome place with a gigantic choice of scotch whisky as well as a large collection of japanese whisky. This combined with a absolutley cozy atmosphere, delicious food and very very friendly staff makes it a fabulous place to spend the evening. I had the classic haggis balls as a starter, the fish&chips as main and toffee cake as a dessert. Everything was just outstanding. It was so good, we will pay it another visit tonight.

Stopped here for brunch. Great service in the restaurant. Our food was served quickly and tasted fantastic. The Christmas shop display is also super. Well done everyone. This will become our new stop off on the Aberdeen to Inverness journey. 🙂

Great food and friendly staff. Loved the Sunday roast. Our dog is allowed to sit with us at the table in the entrance foyer. Keith & Lorraine
