Lovely atmosphere and food. The service was amazing. Thank you for accommodating our order and would definitely recommend.

Called in on market day managed to find a table. Staff were very pleasant and explain the menu. Had sandwiches which were very nice were on bloomer bread served with salad and crisps.

Lovely restaurant, warm and welcoming, staff are very attentive and you can tell they genuinely care. Food tasted great and well presented! And served up quickly. Spotlessly clean. Nice coffee too! Will defo return!

Tucked just off the main street this is a great spot. Recommended by coach it has a chicken, bacon, brie and cranberry club sandwich you cannot beat. You will also struggle to eat for the rest of the day. Well priced for the quality and portions. Lovely courtyard at the rear and sunny tables out the front. Appeared dog friendly. My only gripe was that the crumble cake had sold put before I had chance to order a takeaway box !!!!

Great coffee, excellent service, and a good choice of food options for brunch/lunch/light bites. Without doubt one of the best cafes in the town.

Why is it that you only find gems like this at the end of your holiday rather than being able to enjoy everything the whole time you’re there. After a very, very long walk in the morning we stopped in Abergavenny late afternoon and wandered down a little street and stopped for a tea and coffee. My tea was lovely and my husband, who’s a massive coffee snob, had a really good coffee. We got there late in the day but we’re not rushed to finish our drinks at all and git chatting to the staff. He noticed my nut allergy tattoo and told us about his brother also suffering and that to be sensitive to that the cakes are baked in the order of, gluten free, all other nut free cakes and the final cake of the day (when it’s made) is the almond one. So fantastic to hear that places make such an effort to be inclusive. We’ll just have to return here on holiday and come on day one so I can sample all the home baking!

Visited the Coffee pot again yesterday and still the best place to have lunch, the staff are so friendly and make you feel welcome. The cost is so reasonable and the food always warm and so nice.

Only looking for a coffee and maybe a bacon sandwich it wad suggested to me by Brian ( owner and all around good guy) that I might like to try the Brekafast Bagel!!! WOW!! I was not disappointed. Beautiful presentation not at all greasy. Thick cut bacon,poached eggs,mushrooms and two hash browns. Really tasty and great value for money. Do yourself a favour and drop in and try one. Thanks Brian I will be back.

Visited today for a panini and a cupped made to feel very welcome and lovely food and served with a smile even thought extremely busy. We have visited many time before and also made feel welcomed.

Visited this coffee shop in August 2022 whilst out shopping in Abergavenny. Hadn't read reviews prior to our visit but can understand why there are so many 5* reviews. Initially, the cafe appeared dated in decor, we were unsure whether to stay and therefore asked for a table outside in the courtyard which equally appeared to need a makeover. However, please do not let that put you off a visit. I approached the counter for a menu and was informed that there were no written menus to take back to the table and would I like to take a photo of the menu display board, which I did. I noticed that the staff were very friendly, dressed well in official uniform and actively wanted their customers to feel at ease and have a pleasant meal. We ordered 2 coffees and 2 panini and chips - all excellent quality with the panini presented just as is shown in the photo above. My coffee was particularly good, strong brew and very tasty - just how I like it! Upon leaving The Coffee Pot, I noticed that the inside seating was now filling up, with many Octaganarian locals sampling the delights on offer - a sure fire sign that the place is high quality as a regular haunt for the discerning older adult. I considered giving a slightly lower rating but overall cannot fault our visit and urge to you give it a try when looking for a lunch spot in Aber. Enjoy.

My husband and I decided on a visit to Abergavenny today (from Cardiff) and popped into this cafe to take a look to see if it was worth stopping for a drink and a bite to eat. The gentleman behind the counter very warmly welcomed us in and told us the name of all the delicious looking cakes on display. My husband chose to have one of the cakes and I had a toasted sandwich with fries. The food was great, but it was the efficient, attentive & friendly service that we were very impressed with. We will definitely be visiting The Coffee Pot again when in the area.

Top quality food for a very reasonable price. We visited May 2022 and the man behind the counter made the effort to chat with us and give recommendations of what to do in the area. Absolutely recommend the brie, cranberry, chicken and bacon BLT. Also make a note to try the 'Amico' coffee, it is absolutely delicious

The best sticky toffee cake and Easter egg hot chocolate. Lovely place. Lovely staff. Lovely food. We will definitely be back...again.

Very friendly place, great atmosphere, nice and airy. We all enjoyed toasted sandwiches which were delicious, with a lovely choice of fillings. My daughter, a regular drinker of hot chocolate, declared that this deluxe version was the best that she'd ever had! We plan to return!

We were welcomed by friendly staff who made sure we had enough space as I had my two children with me. Nothing was too much trouble. Amazing selection of homemade cakes which were delicious! Menu was able to be adapted for children with smaller portions too. Very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend.

Such a great little place. My partner and I called in for a breakfast; good ingredients, plenty of food and served promptly. My Americano was good, partner enjoyed her pot of decaf tea. The staff were chatty, competent and the right level of attentive. When a little child had a fall, the staff were amazing to him. Helped him and his parents and put a smile on his face with a little ice cream, was so nice to see the care. Will definitely be going back again for a brunch or coffee and cake as the selection looked incredible.

Such a lovely place to go for food or drink. Staff really helpful, service was prompt, such a variation of food, drinks and cakes. Team were very welcoming to us all, please was very clean, highly recommended.

Called here on Friday for a brunch before we set off to tackle one of the local hill walks. Ordered coffee and bacon sandwiches. Coffee was excellent but the sandwiches were quite simply outstanding. The flavour of the bacon took me back to my childhood...

Visited on a cycling trip. The waiter took effort to seat me with a secure spot for my bike. Great food and drink and refilled my water bottle. So friendly and accommodating. Thank you.

Having a long weekend in Wales and visited Abergavenny today. We were looking for somewhere to have a good coffee and a small lunch, we always avoid the big chain coffee shops and by chance we found The Coffee Pot. We had delicious fresh bagels with cream cheese and salad, everything looked lovely!The service is great, the staff friendly and welcoming and seem genuinely interested that the customers enjoy their visit. We are often in this part of Wales and will definitely visit again.Thank you everyone at The Coffee Pot, you do a fantastic job!

The Coffee Pot serves a very pleasant coffee with no bitterness, food is all freshly prepared and the cakes are all homemade.

Had the most amazing afternoon tea here last Sunday Sandwiches wraps beautiful cakes and choc sundae all freshly made and delicious. Lovely atmosphere. As always Coffee Pot Team ...... thank you.

Very unfairly, I thought that The Pot looked a bit utilitarian on entering - no croissants which is what I really wanted early morning. Anyway, ordered coffee and toast and it was absolutely excellent and only £4.40. It amazes me how some cafes get toast wrong - hardly, toasted, soggy, pre-buttered, great doorsteps, etc.. I'm a bit obsessive about toast! Staff lovely, loo very clean, civilised locals, etc,, I never patronise chain coffee shops so I will be back here when next in AG..

Visited for lunch, which was a chicken salad wrap and bacon and brie sandwich. Both were first class. The staff were really friendly and it was a clean an comfortable restaurant. Will definitely be going back and will happily recommend.

Stopped off here for a lunchtime snack. The staff were really friendly and once ordered our food came quite quickly. There was a good choice of paninis, wraps and sandwiches. We both had chicken club sandwiches one with BBQ sauce. Both were freshly made and really tasty. Will definitely return.

The Coffee Pot has some very enjoyable and healthy food on offer at lunchtimes. The broccoli, blue cheese, and walnut quiche was superb, as was the accompanying salad of cauliflower, quinoa, raisins, and toasted almond. Recommended.

We paid a visit, having found that our preferred venue, just opposite the Coffee Pot was closed. Service was friendly, the cake chosen was toothsome, the coffee hot and pleasant enough, but the outside courtyard where we sat was tired and unattractive. Having eaten our cake we decided that we would like a sandwich, but were advised that no food was sold after 4pm; not the best service to existing customers. We will return to our preferred establishment on our next visit.

Looked for somewhere different today for our coffee break.

This is not your average coffee shop. It is not part of a chain and you can tell that the staff are highly motivated and focused on customer service. The owner goes out of his way to ensure that you are happy with the food and service. You can see the cakes are made in house and the standard of everything there is just exceptional. This is my favourite place to eat and drink in Abergavenny.

The coffee pot is the only place in town where I actually enjoy a coffee. I dont know what they do differently but whatever it is it works, plus they have the most amazing oat milk! Our children love the enormous cookies and my Husband loves the bagels and cakes. Also my daughter loves the hot chocolate's they do for special occasions. The staff are always so friendly and the place has a wonderful feel about it where you do not feel rushed. We look forward to popping back soon.

I occasionally eat here with friends and always have a good breakfast. The food seems less greasy than others locally and the service is always quick and friendly.

Good parking locally at just over £1 for a couple of hours.

Really friendly, helpful staff at this nice little coffee shop. In nice weather you can sit outside, either in the bustling street, or in the small courtyard behind the shop, which was a suntrap on the day, rare enough in Wales! We just had coffee or frapaccinos, along with very scrummy slices of cake, from a decent selection. Light lunches are also served, and those looked to be generous and well presented.Our well behaved collie was welcomed with a bowl of clean water, thoughtful touch on a sunny day, and appreciated by us all.

We recently visited with our two small daughters. There were some toys which were a good distraction for our 2 year old. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was good and reasonably priced. I recommend the big ginger cookies!

This place is a little gem in Abergavenny.

Sat in the courtyard and was served a lovely cuppa tea really nice ....so nice we had 3 .....brilliant staff really friendly. We made a comment that they served the tea in a nice big mug and on our third cup the young lad made a joke and came out with the smallest cup he could find which made us all roar with laughter. Brilliant service I will def be back my new fave cafe in Abber. Thank you and well done x

Discovered this lovely family cafe when wandering around Abergavenny. Lovely fresh food and plenty of it. The cakes looked lovely but we'd had the panninis leaving no room for dessert ( we'll be back to test them out) Prices were really purse-friendly and the team were lovely. Thoroughly recommended.

A group of 6 of us visited yesterday, with ages ranging from 21 to mid 80’s- staff couldn’t have been more helpful with everybody, great range of sandwiches, wraps and of course CAKES! Service was great and very quick!

We enjoy visiting this cafe. It never feels too crowded and there is plenty of space between the tables. The food is good and there is a very pleasant atmosphere. It is spotlessly clean and the staff are friendly.

Have been here with my girlfriend a few times. Panini and jacket potatoes are really nice and very filling, at a very reasonable price. Staff is very friendly and the coffee are really good.

I love going to the Coffee Pot to meet up with friends. After visiting the second time I was greeted as a friend. The home / hand made cakes are to die for and the coffee or a pot of tea are always fresh and piping hot.

The service is excellent and friendly. The cappuccino perfect and the cake delicious. The price quality is excellent.

We had gone to Abergavenny for the day and were given a lift by a friend who works there. We were dropped off early 07.15 and after a quick orientation we needed to find somewhere for breakfast and of course a coffee!

So many coffee shops to choose from in Abergavenny but this one seemed to draw us in. Very welcoming staff, great coffee and fantastic gluten free cake. Brian the owner talked about the other GF foods available which was great. Paul made the very good latte to my and my husbands taste. Laura was busy in the kitchen and food going to other clients looked very appetising. Outside courtyard and clean toilets. Inside seating easily accessible for wheelchairs as are he loos .

Prior to taking lunch at The Hardwick to celebrate our youngest daughters birthday we spent an hour or two wandering through the centre of Abergavenny.

Very friendly staff, lovely coffee and the best bacon sandwich we have had in ages. Really thick slices of tender bacon. Absolutely delicious and outstanding value for money.

My husband and I "found The Coffee Pot" last year. A fantastic café. The cakes are SO good....its difficult to choose which are our favourites! The staff are very, very friendly and happy. The coffee is first class. My husband enjoys the music which is usually from "our youth"... the 60s and 70s.If you enjoy wonderful baked on the premises cakes, good service VISIT.

This was a wonderful way to start our day while visiting Abergavenny and the area. The owners, and staff were wonderful, and produced perfect cappuccinos. Our breakfasts were made to order. Best in Wales. This is were the locals meet so we knew we had found the perfect coffee shop!

what a friendly reception. everyone is very helpful. The cappuccino is top class and the homemade lemondrizzel and raspberry cake are delicious. The price-quality ratio is perfect.

Dropped in for a coffee but when I saw the menu - just had to have a toasted sandwich - bacon, chicken & cheese toasted to perfection - crisp on the outside and full of flavour. Friendly, welcoming staff and great choices available.

I want to tell everyone what a little gem this place is, especially if they are a coffee lover. The barista made me a most delicious flat white and topped it off with a snow man. Definitely worth a visit.

Popped in here during the abergavenny food festival and the service was fantastic. Much better going here rather than a chain cafe. The owner or manager guy made my flat white which was good anyway but he finished it off with this awesome Dragon in the foam.

Good location and when the weather is sunny there is a lovely private courtyard to sit in . Staff are always courteous with a good selection of cakes and sandwiches. Nice to support an independent rather than the chains

Popped in today with friends and babies and the staff were lovely. Very friendly and helpful. Had a panini and enjoyed it! My one friend had to breastfeed her baby, no problem and one member of staff brought her some water (because it is thirsty work ) - a small but massive gesture. Will be back again - thank you

Run by a very friendly team. Delicious cakes which are defiantly homemade as still warm from oven. Spacious and clean. Outside area where we had a look before deciding to sit inside is horribly unkempt. It is in need of some. T.L.C.......Tidying,Loving,Cleaning.

Have been visiting Laura and Brian at the coffee pot since it opened with my family my friends or after sleepless nights with my children on my own. It's a place to relax and de stress with the best cakes and coffee in town. Nothing is too much trouble and they don't bat an eyelid if my baby is screaming or my toddler having a tantrum. The back garden is peaceful and child friendly where I can relax with a coffee whilst my little one naps and my toddler is safe from the Main Street. With friendly staff who will stop and have a chat to you inside the coffee shop and out and about town 5 stars isn't really enough.

This is great little place, with Laura, Brian and the team giving of their very best at all times, and the best bacon sandwiches on the planet.The reviewer who moaned about the uniforms really seems to have been in a bad mood on the day as far as I can see, and should get their priorities right, as the dress code is smart, clean and unpretentious, much like the establishment itself, including the patio (not garden, by the way).

We sat in garden which could have been lovely but for the pile of broken Furnitire, weeds, damaged pots, dingy net curtains and ugly window and rubbish on the floor. People serving were very nice despite utilitarian uniforms which made them look like bus station cleaners.

Stopped off on way to Raglan castle. Lots of choice for sandwiches, paninis, salads and drinks. Very helpful and friendly staff.

We have passed the Coffee Pot many times and eaten in two other places in Nevill Street regularly but this was our first time here. We had pancakes with bacon, maple syrup and scrambled egg. All very generous and tasty. The bacon was very good. Good coffee too and very friendly quick service. Nice and roomy and lots of seating choice, even outside on a better day. Will visit again.

Don't be put off by the decor the food was really lovely. Tasted great quality and the drinks were far more than just tea or coffee. Staff were so lovely, friendly and funny. With a few improvements I think this place would be perfect (upgrade the salt and pepper shakers, cutlery and plates and the outside area could do with a little tlc or just a tidy up and a few pot plants nothing too important but would have helped entice us in) as the food was great and cakes looked amazing!!!

Today I visited for the first ever time. What wonderful friendly service. Made to feel very welcome as though they had known us for years. We had a light lunch and it was really good and well presented.

Most Saturday mornings and several weekday afternoons you will find us in the coffee pot! Excellent breakfast, lunch, coffee the most fabulous cakes and more! Laura Brian and staff are always so welcoming and the atmosphere is lovely. All food is freshly made to order and delicious.
