Kleines gemütliches Café mit richtig guter Frühstücksauswahl (von full breakfast über Panini, Bagels bis zu wraps) zu angemessenen Preisen. Sehr nette Bedienung.

We spontaneously stopped in for coffee. The cake was delicious—especially the carrot cake. Many thanks also to Jana for the friendly service and the great dining tips. We'd love to come back! :)

The atmosphere and service were awesome! Everyone was so sweet, and the food? Amazing. Highly recommend it. (I snapped that pic mid-meal. Couldn't wait! 😅)

Meal came out fast, well cooked and seasoned.

We recently stayed four nights in Edinburgh directly across the street from the cafe. Every morning there was a line out the door to get a table. We grabbed a couple quick coffees to go in the mornings and then finally treated ourselves to a full breakfast on our last day. Everything was delicious (loved the Vegetarian English Breakfast!) and were particularly pleased with the excellent service by Jana too. Highly recommend.

Esta era una cafetería bastante ocupada y es muy pequeña, así que solo tienes que saber que caben como sardinas en una lata. Las mesas están muy juntas y pueden sentirse más llenas. Gran lugar para el desayuno escocés o británico. Acabo de pedir el bollo de desayuno con tocino, huevo frito y queso y un café con especias de calabaza. Disfruté conversando con la pareja de al lado pero si eres más introvertida o tienes ansiedad social no te lo recomendaría si está ocupado. Más tarde paramos y compramos dos cafés con leche más. En general era conveniente y a buen precio.

Just off the beaten track, quite Small place with only a few tables.. excellent traditional breakfast.. the service is fast and friendly. Please note that there may be a queue, so you may have to wait a while... this can take up to 20 to 30 minutes

Deliciosa ensalada griega, café y pastel perfectos. El batido también estaba delicioso. Maravilloso personal amable, ensalada fresca y muy cerca de la base del castillo, pero solo un poco fuera del caos de trampas turísticas en Edimburgo! ¡Vale la pena entrar!

I ordered a full British breakfast, but there was only one egg. There can never be one. I think they thought I wouldn't know because I'm an Asian, so they just gave it to me. The problem was that the food had been made for a long time, and the eggs, pork, and especially the pancakes were... There was nothing strange about throwing it away, when paying for the card. There is a place where you can choose a tip, but the young woman working there was friendly, so I only checked 10%. There are restaurants nearby. There are a lot. Please absolutely avoid this place.

The go to place in Edinburgh for a full breakfast! I used to love going here when I lived in Edinburgh and was visiting over the weekend and it was as good as ever. The staff are always so nice and attentive, food is prepared promptly and always served hot and fresh. Can’t recommend the place enough, looking forward to my next visit.

Popped in for a coffee on Saturday morning with my partner and before we could even finish our drinks we were asked for the table back and handed the bill. We had been there 10 minutes, max. Really unwelcoming and rude. Wouldn't recommend in the slightest.

This is sounds so silly, but when I saw a portion of toast as an option for takeaway, I ordered it. Staff were so kind and helpful, and the ratio of butter to strawberry jam was perfect. It was so good, I went back the next morning for my final breakfast in Edinburgh for another americano and takeaway toast 🤍

Fabulous family run cafe. My mrs. and I were looking for non crowded, non americanised cosy cafes in the area and stumbled upon this little beauty. Apart from the fact that the owner offered to serve me on toast to my wife because they didn't have avocado :D the proceedings were much less scary for me once this conversation was out of the way. Lovely geezer him the fella made us feel at home :) The scran was scrumptious and served with love and lovely bit of british banter on the side! In case you read this mate thank you for a lovely morning. And yes I was extra careful not to upset the mrs. on International Womens Day. Definitely coming back on our next trip to Edinburgh.

Came here for a cooked breakfast, the wife had a full English and I had a full Scottish, plus a drink each, made a change to offered an alternative when we asked for no beans or tomatoes 👍

Stumbled across this little cafe whilst we were in Edingburgh for the weekend, service and breakfast will not dissapoint. The girls that served us were super chatty and attentive, definatly worth 5 stars, we would definatly return.

This was the second time I tried black pudding and haggis… and I loved it again. This was really a great place to have breakfast. Welcoming staff, very quick when it comes to serving the drinks and the breakfast was really good. A shame I only went once due to my time.

Great atmosphere and even greater food!

We went this lovely cafe very early in the morning to have breakfast in our last day at Edinburgh. We had a great Mediterrean breakfast which was very fresh and tasty and they also served us their cake as a favor which was very kind of them. Also I think everybody should try their “magic” tea :) Especially Turkish people would love it for sure. We definitely go again if we travel again to Edinburgh..

The girl who served us was very friendly and attentive. A good place if you want to have a coffee near the Grassmarket. We ordered a Latte (£3.30, a bit expensive but quite large). Very nice people.

Super nice place, food was very tasty and worth the money. Service was good and the employees were nice. There are many nice decorations which makes the atmosphere very pleasant. The chocolate milk had a star on it which was really cute and the bagel was tasty and filling.

Near the grassmarket, it is a small but very comfortable cafe. I had a bagel with egg and bacon that was very very good. The cappuccino had a lot of foam and a little amount of coffee but it was also very good. The best thing is that they took very little time to serve me and that they treated me very well. Pretty good price for being so central (11 pounds) The only bad thing: the extraction of odors: my clothes were impregnated. Still I recommend it!

Stopped here for breakfast this morning - did not disappoint! Waiting staff are lovely and service was quick even though it was busy, very attentive! Place was very clean and well kept. The breakfast was amazing - we both had the full Scottish and it was just what we needed; very tasty. Highly recommend.

Good place for breakfast. A decent menu and friendly staff. The only point that stopped it being 5 stars is bringing to sandwiches, one veggie and meat on the same plate. Seems a bit of an obvious mistake but other than that...

First place my (now) husband and I grabbed a coffee at when we first met. Now when we visit his family, the Coffee Mill is our first stop for breakfast and lattes straight from the airport! Very quaint and lovely staff!

Perfect place to have a proper breakfast before going to Edinburg castle!! They have a huge variety and very fair prices. Also, as it is very close to the monument, I highly recommend start your morning there

Nos topamos con este pequeño café cuando estábamos dando un paseo por nuestra primera vez en Edimburgo. Vinimos aquí el sábado y también el domingo antes de salir. El desayuno era absolutamente irreal. La encantadora chica que nos sirvió (no pedimos su nombre lo siento! ) era el servidor más agradable e incluso los chefs eran tan acogedores. No nos ha gustado un lugar como este en mucho tiempo. ¡Si viviéramos allí, estaríamos allí todos los días!

A cup of hot water for 2.9pounds. That’s ridiculous

The service attitude of this store is very bad. My friend ordered three cups of hot water and was charged 2.9 pounds per cup. When they tried to argue, the store responded, "We gave you tea but no tea bags." This is very unreasonable. They also recorded them at the end of the argument. They also verbally humiliated them, saying that their English was not good and they should go back to China, and other very racist things

My absolutely favorite breakfast spot in Edinburgh! Just writing this review makes me long for their delicious Full Scottish Breakfast (highly recommend!). The friendliness and warmth of the staff makes me feel welcomed and at ease. Even when this charming and cozy restaurant is full and busy, I still feel well tended to and appreciate the calmness and professionalism of the waiters. I also enjoy the Scottish touches -- like receiving a serving of haggis with the a miniature Scottish flag proudly placed in the center of the iconic dish. Will definitely return!
