I certainly will never go to the place again. I am a vegetarian and my girlfriend has an allergy which means she can't eat ham or it will make her ill. I ordered 2 mushroom and 3 cheese ciabattas and they served us with ham and cheese ones. There was no question about what I ordered and I complained and I was accused of lying and I had to push to get my money back. The staff were very rude and the man behind the counter was extremely rude and aggressive. I would warn off anyone going there. It was absolutely horrible.

Although this is a lovely place to sit in the Spires courtyard, roomy and welcoming inside the cafe too, its food is not the best quality, and the owner is a bit grumpy. One of the family/owner's partners who works there pretends to be friendly when in actuality discriminating against and disrespecting the rights and privacy of people with protected characteristics such as gender and invisible disability. But essential place to sit and enjoy the summer weather especially - they used to play music outside too but have stopped - as long as one keeps one's boundaries with the impolite staff.

Can be v busy but we love going here for a quick baked potato or wrap. And scrambled eggs and toast are also much better value than Milange nearby.

This is not haute cuisine and the decor is not The Ritz, but for a quick lunch or breakfast it is ideal. The food is fresh, the coffee is good and the staff are all friendly. If you are going shopping in High Barnet and want a light lunch, this is the place to visit.

I tried this place twice. The first time, I bought a chicken sandwich which was near £5 for a sandwich!! Next time i'm going for a Waitrose sandwich next door.. I can buy two sandwich which are fresh and a dessert for that price. Without asking, they toasted the bread and warmed the chicken in the microwave. This is a common trick for stale food. They had the cheek to say spend more next time on the other bread. I said i didn't want it and the person behind the counter shrugged and walked off! I examined my sandwhich. The lettuce was old and browning, the chicken was cooked god knows how long ago. The second time I tried a jacket potato and I had the runniest toilet trips ever for the whole afternoon. Summary after giving it a fair go. Rude, expensive, stale. AVOID

I have always liked The Coffee Bean, their sandwich led are yummy and the owners are lovely...but I hate to say, when it’s busy, the quality of the food does go down, which is sad. I would rather wait an extra five minutes for my sandwich, than have a barely toasted cheese toastie.

I had the worst experience here, not only is the decor and general cleanliness dire but they don't have a toilet therefore when I needed to go and relieve myself I had to go all around the shopping complex in order to find a bathroom. They also don't take card which in this day and age is crazy. The other customers were loud and intrusive and the dining experience was awful. As for the food, I would have preferred a £3 meal deal from the corner shop.

It's always fantastic at the coffee bean. The coffee is incredible. The food is fresh, tasty and generous portions at reasonable prices. Plus they cater for gluten allergy (a god send for my girlfriend who is extremely sensitive celiac). I've been coming here weekly for years, because it's always fantastic?

Busy, busy, busy is the business model of this bustling cafe which seems to be the favoured spot of locals making their way through the Spires shopping centre - it's long been a reliable option for a light lunch when in this neck of the woods. Service is swift and no-nonsense (order at the counter, no cards taken) and the coffee is a cut above the chains. There are some modern additions to the menu to tick trend boxes but in the main it's traditional fare, on my most recent visit I enjoyed a well-filled hot beef sandwich and the eggs benedict at the next table looked tasty, too. If you're looking for somewhere to sip a reflective coffee or plug in your laptop and while away an hour or two, look elsewhere - the atmosphere is always buzzing, you may have to wait a few minutes for a table.

A nice little cafe with a large outside seating area. The food is nice and good milkshakes too. We've been twice and there has been quite a queue to order.

We get our weekend off to a great start with a lovely coffee and light breakfast on Saturday morning. always a warm welcome, great quality ingredients and good value. We've even been known to go back for lunch - tasty home made soup, baked potato or ciabatta. This makes the Spires a nice place despite the efforts of the developers!

Visited with a friend who had a cheese jacket potato with salad and coleslaw. I had an old favourite of mine a salt beef sandwich on a very nice fresh rye bread with mustard and gherkin. I found the salt beef very tasty and plenty of it for the money. After we had Portuguese custard tarts which were very nice.

It's feeling of independent business , where staff recognise their regular customer, they realise that they are a business in a local area not in tourist area. Most of staff cares what guest is ordering and paying for and they are doing their best to keep them happy. Even when there are some really trouble customer, the staff is still able to smile to next customer. That's dificult thing to do.
