There are lots of cafes in lytham. We had a walk and as it was a nice day it was a case of where had somewhere to sit. This was very good and a reasonable price

Visited with friends. Ordered tea cake without butter, but came with butter. Ordered the quiche. The egg was underdone and slightly sloppy in the centre. The canisters and jar behind the counter are a mix of coffee and tea, this is not clear so when I ordered what I thought was a flavoured tea was very disappointing to find it was a flavoured coffee. The home made scones were a great purchase. Just such a shame about the other things.

We called in the Coffee Bean today, a wet and windy day in Lytham, we ordered the cream tea, I had Latte and my mum had a pot of tea. It was absolutely beautiful and nicely presented, very quiet due to covid restrictions but the waitress was very pleasant. Unfortunately the coffee shop now has to close due to Gov lockdown but we shall definitely return when it re opens.

Visited this cafe and had tea and scone. Tea nice but not the biggest pot for two people. The scone was average and to be charged 45pence for an extra sachet of jam just did not seem right. Will not be going back when there seems much better places to eat in Lytham.

Came here for lunch. Great selection of coffee. Had steak sandwich but unfortunately was so dry and covered in fat, would have been much better if came with gravy or a sauce - was difficult to eat but Unfortuantely no waitress returned to ask how the food was. I'm sure lots of other food is lovely but that the steak sandwich could be improved on.

Went here twice for lunch over the 1940s wartime weekend. Love how the staff dress up for the weekend theme and decorate the shop too. Really friendly staff, great service even when at busiest peak period. Had a lovely jacket potato with tuna and cheese melt the first time and a jacket with tuna and grated cheese the second time. Served with a lovely salad. Coffees are lovely too and the cakes are amazing.

We had lunch here today and the food was delicious. Soup, sandwich and a toastie followed by coffee and home made cake and scone. Food is served on lovely retro dishes and the place just has a nice "old fashioned" tea room style which you dont see often nowadays. Friendly and attentive service. Please note the toilet is upstairs which may be a problem for some. Loads of choices if you are a tea/coffee connisseur. Outside seating too.

Straight away the staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful (helping an elderly lady out of her chair for one) . I ordered the fisherman's salad, food came served by the owner. I'm really fussy and cheeky, so I asked if there was any chance I could compensate some bread for salad. Again, they couldn't be more accomidating. Food was fresh, presentation and taste faultless! Really enjoyed my experience here, last day off well spent! Highly recommended :) will see you again soon. Thanks so much.

Great range of coffees to suit everyone with super friendly service. Good value for money too as coffee was served in cafetiere so there is plenty if you fancy a second cup! We called in first thing on a Thursday morning in late August. It was quiet . We each ordered a cafetiere at £2.95 each but one of us had cream and one hot milk and I think we were charged another 30p on top of that. We did get two full china cups each out of our cafetieres so we still thought it was good value for two excellent coffees. One coffee was Colombian the other was from Peru. Both delicious.

My father and I discovered this place on a roaming trip from Blackpool in 2017. I treated my father to a cafetiere of mine (and James Bond's) favourite coffee - Jamaican Blue Mountain. It was delicious and Dad, who has only recently become a coffee drinker enjoyed it also. So, in April of this year (2018) we deliberately went to Lytham again and found the shop. I asked one of the ladies who worked there if they could suggest another coffee we might enjoy; bearing in mind our previous visit. I was suggested that we might like the Hawaiian coffee which was available and we did. It did not disappoint. All the coffees and teas for sale have a little "biography" to assist customers and the friendliness of the establishment is first class. A word of warning however, this is a class coffee drinkers' heaven and coffees of this sort don't come cheap. Simpler coffees are available and I am sure they are as good as they can be but if you wish to be more adventurous then read the prices. The next time I visit The Coffee Bean I'm going to try one that isn't on the coffee menu but I am assured it is worth trying - it's from Peru. I can't wait!

Popped in while shopping in Lytham for mid-afternoon coffee. Decor is a bit old-fashioned and could perhaps do with a revamp but service was fine. Wide selection of coffee - cafetiere and 'barista-style' such as americano & capuccino. Had a cafetiere of Columbian coffee so can't comment on quality of americanos etc. Cafetiere I had was fine. We nearly always have lunch here when we visit Lytham . When we arrive we usually take coffee , in warm weather we sit outside . After shopping we return to the Coffee Bean knowing that whatever we order we wont be disappointed. One of my favourites is the baked potato with prawns and it's served with a salad. There are always plenty of prawns and the salad is always fresh and crispy , [ a must for me , salad must be fresh no matter what time of year ].The tables are of different sizes and both tables and chairs are pine , the whole place has a very cosy feel to it and this is enhanced by the surrounding plate rack displaying tea pots. In the shop at the front of the café there are various cups , beakers and 17 blends of coffee etc. for sale , great for present buying. we always enjoy our visit as the staff are friendly. Being local this is one of favourite places to go, we are aware they are "dog friendly". What was so disappointing yesterday is that for a small place there were THREE dogs in it and not under the table (which is meant to the rule)... One retriever was really large and would never have been anywhere near to fitting under the table. As I'm extremely allergic we left. I was ill after what should have been a pleasant start to the day. As our nieces are scared stiff of dogs it's also off our places to go list when we have them visit. Aside from the unhygienic matter of dogs around food, there's the fear factor for some and allergy factor for others. I know people with dogs think they are owed a living and treat them like humans.... But they're not human , they still lick their asses, they smell and their hair does shed..... All in places people are paying to eat!!! We won't be back.

Nipped in today as we’ve been in the past didn’t realise it was under new management but we stayed anyway the food was horrific and over priced for standard of it .. my husband ordered a rump steak and couldn’t eat it was rubbery and bland but give the landlady her due she did knock it off the bill, I ordered schnitzel chicken I was served chicken Goujons the landlady said the chef hadn’t looked at the order proper I did try abit rather than cause a fuss but they wasn’t for me so the chef made me schnitzel it came out greasy I asked if it was pan fried as I could see the grease ..she said no so I placed it in a napkin to squeeze it and loads of grease came off so it put me off , found an hair in my sons gamon so he didn’t eat he’s and the pineapple was black underneath like burnt charcoal, the mushroom on he’s plate was dry as anything 😭 my daughter thought the chicken and leak pie was ok, we ate starters too chicken wings and ribs , was told there was no ribs but they will add extra wings we was ok with that they was lovely didn’t have any issues with those The halloumi fries was ok too , garlic mushrooms was ok just got abit sickly eating too many .. the landlady knew we wasn’t keen on the food asked if everything was ok I just answered not really but still paid as we didn’t want her to think we was just trying to not pay for food as the bill was £91 with drinks but also minusing the £20 steak , the land lady’s service was brilliant couldn’t really fault her just might need to look at the chefs work, lovely pub but definitely over priced .

Asked to move my mobility scooter 3 times, it was 4.30 in the afternoon and was empty. I left it tucked away at the side out of the way, and the manger told me to move it, so I moved it near my table and again he asked me to move it, so I moved it again near my seat, he asked me again to move it, and I said where do you want me to move it to? He didn't reply so I asked him does he want me to move anywhere else before I have my drink. He said nothing and walked away. He was rude in the way he was speaking to me, and not friendly at all, he didn't explain why. Definitely not disabled friendly at all, if all costa coffee are the same I will not be going again. He certainly needs disability training. Not impressed at all.
