Very welcome cafe in corner of the heritage Tithe Barn square, next to p Open grass area and the river walk. Good variety of drinks, cakes and excellent salad lunch. Prices are not cheap but good value. Pleasant staff.

EXCELLENT coffee. A delicious roast with excellent milk. The only negative was it smelt of cooking fat in there because the kitchen isn’t separate and there’s no extractor when cooking bacon on the griddle. We’ll still be back!

Middle aged man who served us today was unnecessarily offhand when we ordered drinks. Will be going to Meraki in the future who offer better customer service. A lovely polite young man used to work for Coffee Barn, shame he doesn't seem to work there anymore. I wonder whether the man who served us today prefers local customers to tourists? I think everyone should be treated with respect.

I often pop in here after a morning walk on a Sunday and service is always great with a smile. I always have an Americano which is top notch normally finished off with a bacon sandwich or sausage roll. I thoroughly recommend this hidden gem to all. Can’t wait for my next visit!

My sister and I visited Bradford-on-Avon for a walk and decided to stop for a drink and found The Coffee Barn. We ordered a hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows. After a long wait (not sure why), our drinks were delivered to go and I was disappointed to see it was made from hot water and upon reaching the bottom of the cup the majority of the hot chocolate powder was not mixed in. A lot of money for a below average drink.

Lovely people run this delightful cafe. A great lunch, excellent coffee, vegan chorizo sandwich was extraordinary. After a walk along the river and towpath we returned for afternoon tea. Super fresh scone but the tiffin won the day. In fact it was so good we asked for a takeaway and the lovely staff kindly and generously obliged. Great location by the tithe barn too and safely managed.

We stopped here today while on our narrowboat holiday for a takeaway coffee. The lady who made my coffee was lovely. She asked me about our holiday and I told her I was cold, wet, just wanted a hot shower, our boat had broken down the night before and today was my birthday and she very kindly gave me some shortbread as a gift. To some it may not seem much but to me it meant the world. We had chatted about my holiday but what she didnt know was the terrible week my husband and I had had prior to our holiday. So this small act of kindness had a huge affect on me. We need more people like her in this world today. I will pay her kindness forward. P.s the shortbread was out of this world!

My brother-in-law came from Canada just before Christmas and I'd told him all about their wonderful bacon and egg sandwiches. So I took him to 'The Coffee Barn', once before Christmas and again, just before they closed for a break in January. His bacon and egg sandwich didn't disappoint. He said it was the best bacon sandwich he'd ever eaten. We then pushed the boat out both times, and after scoffing our sandwich we indulged in one of Verity's amazing scones, together with a generous helping of clotted cream and strawberry jam. The scone both times was simply amazing. It was so light and fresh that I nearly asked if they had a piece of muslin I could weight at the four corners to put over the scone and prevent it from floating away. On his trips to England the brother-in-law has become an expert on cream teas and he told me, between his groans of delight, that this was the very best he'd had. And, as with all my visits to 'The Coffee Barn', the atmosphere is so friendly, welcoming and warming - it feels like stepping into someone's kitchen with the extended family all cooking happily together. Everyone made my brother-in-law very at home. Thank you to you all. Enjoy your much deserved break. I look forward to you opening again on January 24th 2020.

Visited The Coffee Barn again today and had another wonderful bacon sandwich. The first one four weeks ago was obviously no one-time fluke. It is quite an art making the perfect bacon sandwich - and the staff here have it in spades. You do not get two paltry slices of pinky pork. This sandwich rippled with layers of bacon cooked to perfection with a golden egg oozing from its centre. The sky was a battleship grey until the clouds parted and the sun came out on this beautiful, crisp, October morning - all "Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness". As I sat and enjoyed the glorious Tithe Barn glinting in the Autumnal light, I contemplated the Autumn of my life. And would you believe it, the woman who cooked this perfect bacon sandwich also brought me a pepper and salt cellar in case I wanted to give it a little more zing. What amazing service is that? Perhaps she sensed that I practise "safe eating" - yes, I always use condiments.

What a superb setting for a cafe, sitting directly opposite one of the most stunning Tithe Barns in the country. The food is all home made and the quiche I had was simply delicious - generously filled with light short cut pastry. The woman who makes these quiches also made the mushroom soup I had. This was rich and earthy tasting and so substantial there wasn't mush room for a piece of cake. A week ago I also had the best bacon sandwich I've had for years. It was cooked just on the edge of crispy - perfect. And what makes this the ideal place for breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea is the wonderful service on offer. All the staff are super friendly, smiles all round, and create a wonderful welcoming atmosphere. I cannot recommend this place too highly.

After a cycle from Bath to Bradford on Avon, we stopped to look at the spectacular Tithe Barn and happily came across this little place - a tidy and well kept cafe in beautiful surroundings. We had coffee and a bacon and egg sandwich which was just excellent. They source good local ingredients and it really pays off in the taste. On top of that the coffee is excellent. Apparently it’s is roasted locally and while I never normally comment on coffee I had to complement them on it. All the cakes are hand made and looked amazing. Shame I couldn’t manage one after the sandwich but that means I’ll have to go back. The setting is so peaceful and picturesque you can’t help but feel happy.

We stopped for tea and cake. My husband had coffee which he said was good. My pot of tea was enjoyable and the lemon drizzle cake lovely. I felt the tables a bit too close together for my liking. I do like more room in a cafe without having to be huddled near another table. The staff were very friendly. We will stop by again next time we are there,

Went here for a tea and coffee on a weekday morning during half term holidays, it was very busy. We ordered and paid for our drinks and went outside to find a table. 10 minutes later still no drinks arrived... we went back inside and there was much apology and our drinks arrived. They really need to be more organised.

Popped in to the coffee barn after visiting the Tithe Barn and nearby children's playground. Coffee and cake were good, decent toilets and friendly service. It is also dog friendly so you don't have to freeze out in the cold with the pooch and they do takeaways also so you can have a beverage while the children play in the park.

MORE AT TripAdvisor

Located in the tithe barn area at Bradford on Avon. The granary was always a great high end gift shop and chic furniture store with some lovely interior design furnishings on offer. New ownership and still great for the aforementioned but now there is a coffee shop as well. Lovely little place it is too. Simplicity is what is on offer, no long winded complicated menu here, just some honest homemade cakes, quiches, salads and sandwiches. Been twice now and had the quiche offering with salad selection (different each time) and both occasions were spot on. Saw a freshly prepared bacon sandwich in the making when ordering and was nearly swayed (avoiding bread at the mo) this appeared to be a door step sandwich with no cheating on the butter and a load of bacon going into it. Also avoided the cake but must say the offers look tempting and obviously homemade and lovely (homemade beats bought in everytime). Coffee good, certainly good enough to have it every time I visit. The staff are friendly and from the banter between them seem to enjoy each other and working there which makes it a nice place to spend time. This place is new, and is finding it's feet but it is worth seeking out and will only get better as time goes on.

The Bradley Hare is an elegant enterprise but tends to cater for diners and private parties rather than dog walkers looking for a pint and a sandwich; indeed the lunchtime snack menu is almost non existent. On occasions the bar closes completely to facilitate private functions. In short, the Bradley Hare is perhaps more of a "restaurant with rooms" rather than a traditional hostelry.

Ok so Lynne and I are back at The New Inn with friends having yet another superb meal. We have now eaten here a few times and I feel I should commend the staff and the chef ( who we found out his name was Ronnie ) very nice touch when he comes out of the kitchen personally to ask if everything is ok. Once again superb service and our friends also commented on how lovely this superb pub/restaurant is. Even when we pop in for a snack Pizza that is just superb. Well done all at The New Inn. we certainly will be back and so will our friends. You guys deserve to do well as you always go the extra mile. Thank you, so refreshing in this day and age . We will be booking for a meal again l this Saturday night with some more friends. all the very best Ian & Lynne
