THE COD FATHER in Basildon

The cod father chip shop Is very good food is delicious and piping hot but they use just eat to delivery service as I don't drive I order through them the first couple of times were over Christmas and after ordering I received a refund and an email saying sorry no drivers were available which I understood so tried again last night ordered for 17,30 at about 18,10 I enquired where is my order as the app said it was out for delivery and enjoy my food then got a message saying again no drivers not good

Great fish and chips. The fish is always of the highest quality and cooked to order . The staff are friendly and even made me a cup of Turkish tea because I said I was cold

Can’t believe I am writing this as have eaten here a lot & normally really good but ordered boneless chicken for me & wife & it was awful 4 pieces of which I can only describe as cardboard , dry & beaten so thin you could probably see through it & when I phoned to complain they said they were to busy to listen, I just hope this isn’t the sign of things to come , Terry from Laindon

The portion size was good, all crammed inside a box. The only trouble was that some of the chips weren't that warm and so they all got cold quite quickly. Also, there were lots of hard and crispy chips, rather than fluffy ones. A bit of a disappointment really.

Don’t bother with this shop!! 50 Minutes wait only to be told they’d lost my order. Tried to palm me off with Goujons and a piece of Cod that had been sitting in the cabinet at least 15 minutes…. I’d ordered 2 Cod and chips. Totally different to CORRINGHAM which I’ve used a few times… food and staff in CORRINGHAM are great. Give Laindon a total miss…. Have something else from another take away!

The best fish and chips I’ve had in a long time. Batter is so light and crispy, it melts in the mouth. We had plaice which was fresh and perfectly cooked, chips were crisp, fluffy inside and not soggy at all and the calamari was just so good. We will definitely be putting this on our Friday night takeaway list for another visit.
