Subway in Basildon

Good food, just extremely disappointed to with the new later opening time. I was a regular Billericay customer, then forced to Pipps hill due to the late opening time, and now the same here too. I'm gutted, as I wont be able to use them during the week as a result.

Came with my father and fiancè. Ordered 3 subs, food was absolutely spot on. Service on the otherhand was a let down. It was only us 3 ordering as the place wasn't busy, yet the worker seemed to have such a rush on none of us had the chance to think. Whilst trying to get on the subcard app to receive the points, the worker was trying to get us to pay as quick as possible- we wasn't ready yet. The shop itself is a little dirty with crumbs and rubbish over the floor. Other than the taste of the food (which is the same in majority if not all of the subway shops) I was rather let down today. Doubt I'll be coming to this particular branch.

Had a ham foot long with mayonnaise not eaten all day now have upset belly

Staff were extremely rude to me, and my complaints to head office just received stock replies. In addition their new menu and pricing structure makes them way more expensive than the competition. Won't be visiting any Subways again - they only care about profit.

First wrap was freezing cold, asked politely for it to be reheated was given lots of attitude by staff member who didn't seem to know what she was doing. Second wrap was completely broken apart. Asked to speak to a manager, no manager available. Met with further attitude by second staff member. Don't bother coming here.

Not very busy, only two other tables with customers - but filthy shop , tables dirty and goid mushed not tops. Good and rubbish on floor everywhere. No clean up seen in the time we were there. Manky.

Rude staff as always, they never even say hi, act as if you're bothering them and move slow. Subway staff is always unmotivated, Subway should pay them better as the staff is too bad to eat here.

Was waiting 5 minutes before any spoke to me , a employee was serving a customer then touched her phone witch can contain up to 17000 bacteria genes then continued to touch food

Food was absolutely fine and team we friendly, they were pretty engrossed in personal conversation and even left a customer waiting whilst they finished at one point. Wasn't the most clean place and one of the tables were broken and soft drinks machine out so "it's only 30p extra for a bottle", oh and toilets out of action. Think headoffice need to get a handy man in for this store.

Wait times are shocking. 10 mins with only 1 other person waiting in the shop. Cant rate the food as I left without ordering.....

Girls very friendly, in fact too friendly as they were too busy chatting to a girl in the queue they got my order wrong. More annoying was the fact the girl they were chatting too was told she didn't have to pay for her subway or drink , she said she didn't have any money and offered them £1 ? The floor was dirty with bits of food everywhere, the door glass looked like someone had thrown a mud bomb at it ! There was a sign in the window saying all tables are being sanitised but ours wasn't (we cleaned it ourselves) and there was nobody cleaning any other tables. Very disappointed. It wasn't even busy so there was no excuse for not keeping the place clean, there was enough girls that work there stood talking.

Good taste of food. Prepare the combination before going in. Try this combo Tuna, with Mayo,Southwest,BBQ sauce. It's good combo, if possible try it.

As always a Subway meal is what you make it as you choose your bread (and size) or chose a salad and your base filling and then choose salad items to go into it ending with a sauce of your choice. Indefinitely more tasty than any of the burger fast food choices and definitely more healthy. Only one person in the queue in front of me and the shop has taken sensible Covid-19 precautions. Can't go wrong!

Good fast service, can't really fail that, however in these times I would expect that if someone does not wear mask for whatever even hidden disability I would expect them to keep their mouth closed to the maximum and not to have full blown conversation on the phone, without manager challenging this customer and asking them peacefully if they could mind the others and leave their conversation for the outside. So for this you get just 2 stars because nowadays it's about protecting members of staff and aswell about other customers.

The veggie sandwich needs improving and you need to put more cheese in the sub.

The staff are bad at their job and plain rude, the staffs friends who are standing Infront of the drinks are constantly chatting with the staff which causes the staff to forget and confuse things with the subs

I popped in alone for a quick lunch. It was pretty busy, but they managed the queue quickly and professionally. They had everything I wanted and didn't pull faces at my potentially odd salad choices! Really enjoyed my sub and would return if I was in the area.

Subway is Subway right. Clean, hygienic and efficient as possible. Your know what to expect when you walk through the door. A beautiful sandwich 😋.

This subway never has meatballs for some reason. Meatballs are the best and they never have then. Quite a nice place though to sit and eat your food however. Staff were good too. Just please get some meatballs going as the meat feast sub on the saver menu is the best. Plenty of drinks and crisps to choose from too.

On this occasion my daughter and I got served at same time by different servers. We both bought a salad. My salad bowl was full to the brim but my daughter's was half full so she asked for more. She only for a little bit more. So it didn't fill her up like it normally would. This has happened to us at this store before but never happens at the pitsea branch

Literally the worst subway I’ve ever visited. I’m a vegetarian and I had to ask staff to change their gloves before making my food. Had to pay extra for Monterey Jack cheese as there was bits of tuna floating in the ordinary cheese. Despite me asking the worker to change his gloves because of me being a vegetarian he was quite happy to slather on cheese covered in tuna on my patty! Girl who was preparing meat decided to jump on to salads mixing her meaty gloves into all of the tubs of salad. The salads were all contaminated with meat and most of them had visible bits of meat in them. Asked for gherkins and was told they’d run out. But I saw some in the pot. Had to beg a worker to put these in my sandwich. Run out of gherkin? Isn’t subway all about choosing the salad you want? Anyway it was pretty dirty in this place. I’ve visited much cleaner branches and experienced better trained staff with the knowledge that people can have food allergies, religious beliefs and choose not to eat meat of any sort. Wouldn’t hurt if gloves were changed as standard practice with each sandwich made like other stores! Really really disappointed.

Never really been to Subway much, so as I was close and I saw they do a sub of the day for an OK price thought I would check it out. I tried the fiery tuna, so you get a couple of small scoops spread quite thinly, then the server will add whichever else you want like peppers, jalapeño etc, I asked for a little hot chilli sauce and for some reason the guy went crazy and put way too much on it. So consequently I had a sloppy sub and could only taste chilli sauce!! Not in a real hurry to go back to be honest.

Subway, Pipps Hill Retail Park, Miles Gray Road, Basildon, EssexWe’d driven over to Basildon for couple of hours shopping in the superstores scattered around Pipps Hill Retail Park and, having missed our mid-morning coffee break, it was easily time for and early lunch. In any case, we had a meeting scheduled for mid-afternoon and it was better to be early than late – with time to get back home. Traffic in Basildon tends to block up at key junctions the closer you get to 17.00.It was grey and cloudy outside in the real world of parked cars and hazardous green painted pathways across the parking lot, but there were a couple of attractive cafés just across the way – a popular branded coffee shop (where we’ve enjoyed the occasional cappuccino &brioche) and, next door, the Subway Restaurant. Lunchtime demanded more than a snack, so we by-passed the coffee shop (heaving with people inside) and headed into the Subway.It must have been more than six months since our last Subway sandwich – so, time in which to appreciate the way that they’ll stack your sandwich – at your request - with all kinds of tasty savouries in addition to fresh salad and your original meat/cheese selection. You can, if you like squelchy sandwiches, flood them with dressing too.There was a counter in the far RHS corner with three people serving – less than a couple of minutes sandwich start to finish – with the cash register and the help-yourself to the Pepsi dispenser at the other end.The menu on the wall above the counter listed 20 or so sandwiches, six of which were described as ‘low fat’, and from which we chose the ‘Veggie Delight’ based on Honey Oat bread. This is lettuce, tomatoes, red onions and green peppers topped with savouries – jalapenos, pickles and olives – to ‘delight’ those taste buds. And, we topped it further with honey mustard dressing.Apart from the dressing our second sandwich was much the same – but, with a name like ‘Spicy Italian’, it came with a couple of layers of processed meats (salami, pepperoni), but neither cheese nor dressing – to contaminate that dominant spicy meat taste. A packet of crunchy crisps complemented the sandwiches. And, for drinks, we had a cappuccino and a small bottle of fruit juice (orange colour).There was a dozen or so others queuing and/or eating in the large open-span dining room – in booths spaced around the wall opposite the counter, sitting on high stools at the window and looking out into the car park or sharing tables in the middle of the room. Many were wearing clothes identifying the name of retailers in the park - suggesting regular clients.And, 30 minutes later - that convenience stop at the lavatory in the LHS corner – separate rooms men & women – and clean facilities inside – hot water, soap, air dryer – before heading outside.A pleasant sandwich meal then, great tastes, prompt, friendly and efficient services, an easy place to sit/eat, and good value too – we paid GB£9 for our meal.Peter Steele20 September 2017

Been here a couple times after work, the food is nice and it's often quiet which is nice after being at work all day. It's a friendly place and nice to relax for half hour
