The Cock Inn in Wiltshire

We were recommended the Cock Inn for the Steak night on Wednesday so we booked a table for 4 two couples. The service was excellent the steak excellent cooked medium rare. We couldn't fault our meal. We will be back.

We had a wonderful family meal at the Cock Inn. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Thank you! I was amazed at the range of vegan options available, including a vegan ‘cheesecake’ for dessert. I really wasn’t expecting such a great choice from a small pub, and was fully prepared to pick away at a salad and a bowl of chips. However, my husband had a hearty vegan ‘steak’ pie, whilst I opted for a delicious Mediterranean vegetable tart. We’d definitely order these again. Other vegan options on offer included 3 bean chilli and vegan pizzas. Some of these were on the specials board so might not always be available.

This is propper local pub. Great atmosphere and Vince n Jackie work miracles. I whish it was my local. I am part of the Armed Forces veterans breakfast club and the team treat us like family. The serve is brilliant breakfast. 50 to 60 covers and the food is top Drawer. Jackie is brilliant, working out of a tiny little kitchen. They all work their socks off for us and local customers. Love this pub.

Personally would not advise going to this pub for Sunday roast me and a couple work mates went and we were all let down by the customer service from all staff, where do i start… The roast was burnt (as seen in the picture below). The staff were just very rude to me and others. The drinks were warm i would have rather made them myself. Overall i was completely unimpressed by the quality and the quantity of everything the pub had to offer.

My mother & I regularly eat out & we stopped by this pub after being particularly impressed with the menu. Despite there being noisy football fans watching the match on TV, we still stayed. The barmaid was very friendly & accommodating, Mum had the piri piri chicken which was quite substantial & very tasty. I had the lasagne which was good but not the best. The place is very relaxed and quite busy for a Saturday afternoon and I quite liked it. It is clearly a pub for the locals but I would definitely consider going back when there is no footie match. Their menu is appetising so I would like to try something different. Bar manager & the chef are a great couple and well worth visiting again.

Always a lovely Sunday lunch. This week was very very good. Last week was sublime, I had lamb, but I counted 9, yes 9 different veg. This is a hidden gem. Best Pub Sunday lunch for MILES.

Food is terrible at this pub it says fresh but most of it is frozen and 2 minutes before our food come out I got told my callenolli was out of stock literally as the Miami where being brought out so obviously frozen started came out 3 at first then 20 minutes later 3 more starters came out as 3 mains came out it was an absolute shambles rubbish rubbish food 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

Recommended by James at the local travelodge. Told us how good the food was. Arrived and got a table instantly. No wait time. Food was cooked quickly. And was absolutely beautiful. Haven’t tasted pub food like that in a long time! Was able to play games of pool with the family after as well. Nice friendly pub & music as well!

always have a good meal here, great portions , and lots of effort to make it more than just pub food . land lady and land lord always welcoming , a bit of a locals bar but great for a nice meal , a pint and a game of pool

Yet again the staff at the cock inn delivered. The Sunday Roast was amazing and the lemon meringue pie was to die for. Thanks again, such a great afternoon, always the place we head to when vist our parents.

Me the wife brother in law and his wife came here for a meal as we were told by some guy it was brilliant food I ordered a chicken curry pie but unfortunately all had gone then the chef came over to our table and said she had made a few very hot curry pies for her herself to take home and said I could have one of them it was fantastic and the Chutney it came with was spot on. I would like to say a big thank you to the chef and her sister behind the bar for everything you did for us while we were there

Called up last minute to see if they could accommodate 16 people and two dogs for dinner and amazingly the answer was yes ! We were given an area to ourselves where we enjoyed a lovely meal. All the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming . Thank you !

Warm, welcoming friendly pub. Lots to choose from on the menu, one of the meals took a bit longer to come out but it wasn’t an issue as we were kept informed what was happening and the omelette was worth the wait, in fact it was so huge I couldn’t eat it all! Would recommend this pub if you are looking for some good pub food, with a friendly atmosphere and welcoming hosts.

Such a warm and welcoming pub! We visit regularly and are always made to feel welcome. The specials board is Brilliant and the food is always beautiful! Chicken and mushroom pie is to die for!

although we did not go we did call left a message about booking a meal .the manager did call back and apologise about the non call back even though a day late

Food was great. Quick service. Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. Great atmosphere. Lovely bar staff. Polite waitress. Would pay double the price for the food.

We booked our table a few days in advance via email. We chose The Cock Inn as the menu had something for everyone (very important with fussy teenagers). The staff we're all very welcoming and professional and all Covid safety precautions were followed well. A great traditional British pub for all ages to enjoy a great value meal. Thank you for a lovely evening.

A nice local pub. Really friendly service and a varied menu (including vegan and gluten free options). Definitely worth stopping for decent good value pub grub.

Arrived at the Cock Inn, hand sanitiser was available all around the bar and near tables so very easily accessible. Social distancing was at its finest. Vince and Tina were exponentially professional behind the bar. To add, Lesley (the helpful waitress) made us feel comfortable during these peculiar times and even understood our dietary requirements. The homemade Chilli Con Carne was delicious - would buy again. Overall experience: Excellent.

Called in tonight in passing and we’re really well looked after especially changing a meal to replace what my wife couldn’t eat. Food was delivered really quickly and was delicious and plentiful.

Good food served by friendly staff, took a while for food to arrive about thirty mins and the place was very quiet, but was good food and hot and we enjoyed a relaxing drink while we waited. Was impressed by cleanliness in the place particularly ladies loo which was spotless and supplied hand and nail cream for after hand washing which was a nice touch. We will probably return while in the area, prices very reasonable too.

My wife and I visited the Cock Inn twice in the last couple of weeks for a meal - once at lunch time and once in the evening. On both occasions there was a board outside advertising their meal times and food.However, on entering and asking for food we were told that there was none available !If anyone else is considering visiting The Cock Inn for a meal I would strongly suggest that they ring first. Personally, we won't be bothering again !

Popped in when passing by on Monday, had a lovely lunch ordered with the 2 for 1 mains on the dine card was £16 for 2 mains and 2 beers. Was amazing food lovely service and great location.

We decided last minute to pop to the pub down the road. I phoned at 12 noon and had a table booked for 13.45pm. Lovely phone manor. And when we arrived at the pub a lovely reception. Food was fantastic and the kids ate ALL OF IT! Pudding was a success and happy kids mean happy adults! Reasonable prices and good quality food cooked very well! Will be back!

I have just been to the Cock Inn for our works Christmas meal, I was the first one there and had a beer (Wadworth Horizon) and I was rather surprised when the bar staff remembered what I was drinking when K ordered another (bonus points there). When we came to dine there was a little confusion as to who ordered what, which aas down to the organiser forgetting the order list, however this was very quickly rectified by the serving staff who could not have been more helpful. The meal itself was wonderful, served nice and hot with plenty of well cooked vegetables and one of the best desserts that I have ever tasted. I have been on cruises every year for the past 10 years and the food that we were served today surpassed cruise ship cuisine.WELL DONE THE COCK INN I will definitely come back.

Went here with family and friends for a Christmas meal. We were made to feel welcome on arrival. The table was decorated and crackers provided. The food was hot, delicious and plentiful. We were all well looked after including my elderly mother in law. A wonderful time was had by all. Would definitely recommend it.

My wife and I took my Mum to this friendly local pub. The food was really good, service from all the staff exceptional. I remember playing in bands in this pub in the early 90s, when it was an honest but fairly run-down basic local. The honesty remains, it's been recently refurbished: nicely and subtly so that it feels comfortable, the sort of local where you can drink and chat, watch sport or sit and enjoy a meal at a quieter end of the pub. Something for everybody. Mum is old and can be fussy and difficult to please but she felt very happy throughout. Vegetarians are catered for with some choice and imagination beyond the usual. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Highly recommended.

Our family recently descended on us for half term. As we are still new to the Warminster area we choose our local The Cock for our meal out for the ten of us ! We range from 5yrs old up to nearly 70yrs and the amazing staff here welcomed us all with smiles, menus and jugs of squash for the children !

This pub is much improved following a change of landlord. There is now a comfortable seating area next to the dining area. The food is basic pub grub with very little choice for veggies. If you are after something cheap and cheerful give it a try

This place has been refurbished to quite a high standard and now serves food as well as a good range of beers and spirits.

Great welcome so helpful staff and service and food the staff could not do enough to help us and food was good value . We had the Saturday deal and a great bottle of Rioja

Popped in for dinner with my nan and they had an offer on house wine that was lovely! And an offer on the pizza that was amazing! Quick service and it came piping hot. Day to day menu needs improving.
