The Coast in Cheshire East

We visited here for lunch on Saturday and we're blown away with the quality and value. We both had the prosecco two course lunch, £17.95 per head was great value, did this mean reduced quality? Not a chance, it was superb. We actually booked opposite for dinner and we've both said next time we visit Prestbury our main meal would be here. I'd also recommend the Grappa for a Digestif! It was lovely. We shall visit again!!

Menu looked good and orders were taken. Restaurant looked nice and there were only three or four tables with customers. Food was average- sea bass was tasty but a tiny, starter size portion. My friends had pasta which was described as ok but greasy. Food took over 45 minutes to arrive in a less than half filled restaurant. The bill took less than a minute to arrive. Won’t be going back.

Very nice menu, each course was well presented and food quality excellent. Chateaubriand cooked perfectly. Service also really good. Thanks Blair.

nice restaurant with good service , slow ! but didn't bother us the food however was ok ! lobster ravioli was nice but lacked flavour . Focaccia bread was very good . to sum up a good night out but food could be improved for what you are being charged .

We were a little disappointed with our experience at Coast in Presbury. The Sunday menu was quite limited and I think that we did not choose wisely from it. For starters we had calamari which was great and caprese salad which was a little disappointing due to the thin slivers of anaemic tomato and portion size. For the mains, we had goats cheese salad and chicken salad. They were both quite tasty, however, we did feel that they were limited and overpriced at £20 per salad. A lot of diners were enjoying a Sunday lunch which in all fairness looked to be good. In summary, we were left feeling that our meals didn’t meet expectations. £40 for two salads. We were also a little underwhelmed with the service. Such a shame as we really want this restaurant to be a ‘go to’ destination being is such a lovely location

This was a restaurant we had never been to and my friend and I were impressed by the food , especially the Fixed Price lunch menu complete with a complementary glass of prosecco. We both had starters and main which were tasty . Would definitely return just sad there were only 3 tables in for lunch which limits the atmosphere.

My son and his wife bought me a voucher for here for my birthday . We ate off the Prosecco lunch menu and it was delightful. The ambiance, the service and the food were all excellent. We will definitely visit again. Thankyou.

Lovely restaurant that must always be busy. Smart decor, really nice food and great, friendly service. Make sure you book. One slight concern is the taxi firm used by the restaurant taking us back to the hotel, the driver was either showing off or giving us a death wish driving so fast it was pretty scary.

For our first visit, we went for a family dinner on a Thursday night. We were greeted with a warm welcome and seated at our table. Plenty of space for the four of us. The music and decoration gave the perfect ambiance. The food and the service were fantastic, Blair and his team were great with us and our two children. We will definitely be back and have already recommended to friends and family.

Absolutely beautiful food and atmosphere great. Was packed and I can see why it was a great night. Recommend the salmon main was best I have had for a while

Lets start on a positive note The Coast is without doubt an extremely well furnished venue. All the staff we met were attentive and friendly. It is without doubt a nice place to relax enjoy a nice glass of wine and waste away a few hours but I'm sorry that's where the positive review ends. My wife, who is Italian, and I went for lunch and not wanting a large meal we ordered two starters. The Crocchette di formaggio di Capri and the Fritto Misto for two and I'm sorry the Crocchette had never seen a goat in its life, it was two small parcels of potato and having eaten Fritto Misto on many an occasion in Italy, what arrived would have shamed any Italian who enjoys good food. To be honest I thought it might well have come out of the freezer. The icing on the cake was that the bill was plus VAT and I don't recall any reference to this on the menu. Being a new resident to the area I don't mind paying a little more at a nice venue for good food but in all my days I have never been presented with a bill where the VAT was an extra 'Eat in VAT 20%. All in all we left feeling cheated and angry so I doubt we'll visit again. perhaps only for a drink assuming we are dragged there by friends and even then we'll have to ask for the drinks as a takeaway if we are to avoid such a ludicrous surcharge, because that's what it is.

Unfortunately they were not part of the eat out scheme or whatever it was called but at least we did manage to reserve a table. From start to finish it was great, the staff are spot on, the food is really good, I cannot remember being served food that was so hot! We really loved the decor, even the music they were playing in the background, if we are ever in the area again we would 100% return, loved it!

Visited this evening whilst staying @ Mottram Hall with my wife for her birthday, the restaurant was busy but we was seated within one hour from arrival. Once our time slot arrived we was seated promptly where the staff was very attentive and ensured that our experience was a positive one. We was joined by my mother and father for her birthday also and whilst they had seafood dishes I opted for a chicken and spicy pasta dish whilst the wife had her favourite meal (Lasagne) we opted to compliment these meals with a bottle of Prosecco and some Peroni on draft, we had a cheesy garlic bread starter and they arranged for a surprise birthday gift to be brought out at the end.... this was the best chocolate brownie and ice cream EVER. Will definitely recommend and will be back again.

A very nice restaurant - excellent quality of food - superb staf - great menu - definitely worth a visit

Had a really nice table and seemed a good atmosphere. Waiter very attentive at first. Starters - I had calamari- overcooked and chewy! The other 3 thought I had had the best !!! They didn’t finish theirsWe then had two rib eye - ordered medium rare - both arrived well done, they tasted ok but at £25 really poor value for money given so overcooked. Our partners had sea bass and salmon- again so over cooked my wife left half hers. I’m afraid restaurant is all style .... but poor food - at over £200 for 4 with only a couple of drinks each there are much better restaurants in this area around. Real Pity as our daughters had a lovely lunch there recently and recommended. They were happy to take money and not address feedback - it’s one of those places that now has a choice between getting people in for 12 months and then closing because people don’t come back or actually improving their quality- sadly I expect the former. If they improve food quality they will do well... So sadly I’d score it 3 out of 10, want someone to say in the next few weeks, that they have been and that the restaurant have addressed quality issues, in which case I’ll give it another go because it’s a lovely atmosphere ..... if not, places like Don Giovanni in Knutsfiord are the place to go for a good Italian meal.

Have been here a few times now and the most recent visit was very good. Both had Caesar salad which was delicious, huge and well priced. The set lunch menu is really good value and there is a wide choice. Nice airy atmosphere and good service. Look forward to next visit.

Booked a table for 7:30 months in advance for a birthday meal. Arrived at 7:40pm to be told table wasn’t ready yet and to get a drink at the bar. Ordered a carafe of wine and charged to ‘table’. At 7:50 spoke to manager to ask why we hadn’t got a table. Not very apologetic. At 7:55, decided to walk out. Thought 25 minute waiting was long enough. Very poor service. Won’t be returning

I frequently eat here as the food, atmosphere and service is consistently very good. Fab Italian food with attentive and friendly service. Definitely worth a visit!

Set in beautiful Prestbury, this restaurant occupies a lovely building in the village centre. It is smart and modern inside. There is an attractive bar area with high tables and plenty of drinks choice behind the bar (although they don’t have a drinks list...apart from a wine list??)We were asked if we wanted to go straight to our table (as it was ready..) or wait for our friends in the bar. We opted to wait for them and a order a drink. Upon their arrival, we were asked if we wanted to go to our table (as it was ready...you see a theme here??) or have a drink with them in the bar. We opted to finish our drinks in the bar area. Upon moving to the table (which we knew ‘was ready’) ...we had never seen such a disgusting mess under the table. There was bread...and not just crumbs...huge chunks of bread..and general yuck...dirty food around our feet. We asked for the area to be cleaned..so we all had to stand up again whilst they brought out a dustpan and brush. It really wasn’t a great start, considering the table ‘was ready...’ The two candles were not lit which didn’t seem very ‘ready’ either. We did ask for them to be lit...but that never happened..despite the acknowledgement of our request. The menu looks good, variety of options with an Italian theme.We all had starters, including the mussels, bruschetta and mozzarella/tomato. All of them were pretty basic.... the mozzarella salad looked like what you make a home...no effort on presentation. The bruschetta was bland...3 slices of baguette, no finesse, and the main flavour was red onion. No one commented that their food was nice ..which is odd on a night out for dinner. We asked for water....which never arrived...we asked again.The main courses were all average....but not average prices.The lobster ravioli looked like baby food...simply orange slop on a white plate...really unappealing.The sea bass was ok...but again, over powered by red onion.The Milanese wasn’t crispy...again, very bland.Again none of mentioned to each other about our food...nothing inspiring.The dessert menu looks good but we didn’t indulge.On leaving the table my husband noticed his scarf was missing. He remembered having it at bar area so we went to check. There it was...in the middle of the floor...clearly been left there all evening. The staff must have walked past it many times but no one picked it up; demonstrating again, a lack of care.This place is expensive, but the service and quality of food does not warrant its high prices.There is no attention to detail, and no evidence that they really care about the food or customers. I think they will have a lot of first time customers, I’m unsure if people would return repeatedly. My recommendation is to try elsewhere before this place.

We had an early dinner here - service was attentive, the food excellent and the restaurant has a great ambience. A great place for a quiet dinner.

Went for a meal on Saturday evening, the atmosphere was great, the service exceptional and the food.... well, it was incredible! We opted for mains and desert. Two of our party opted for specials and I had the Chicken Milanese, portions were great and the quality was top drawer. Desert followed and that didn't disappoint either. Service was friendly, efficient and attentive.I would recommend this place time and again

Lovely relaxed atmosphere at lunchtime with friendly attentive service. The pate was very nice but the pate to bread ratio was off and the salad ‘garnish’ overwhelmed the plate a little. My husbands pollo Milanese was very nice but he found spaghetti and chips on the same plate a little odd. My sea bass was a little overlooked and under seasoned but still enjoyable. The tiramisu was really tasty . Would definitely return

I decided to write a review on coast after returning once again for my Sunday breakfast. For anyone wanting a great breakfast and coffee in our lovely village try coast before the rest. The staff are lovely children are well taken care of and the choice of breakfast is the best. Well done and keep the standard up

This restaurant always seems a little quiet and yet the food is so good it intrigues me as to why. It's definitely worth a visit! Great for fish.

Very disappointed with my visit to Coast... Probably the most expensive Restaurant in the Village... but lacking on so many levels... Very expensive food and very expensive wine

Been a few times here and had differing service in the past, but have to say this time it was excellent. Food was tasty and served piping hot and well presented. Service was attentive and friendly. New menu has some different options - I can recommend the crab linguine and the fish cake starter. Finished off with sticky toffee pudding which was delicious. There’s always a lovely atmosphere here the decor is inviting.

I’ve been coming to The Coast since it opened here in Prestbury Village. We live locally and we love it.

Lovely atmosphere. Prices on the high side and service can be slow but the food is mainly good. Great decor.

I just wanted to write this review to tell people about the lovely private room that is available for hire, upstairs in The Coast. We had a farewell dinner for 25 employees last Friday evening and it could not off been a nicer evening. The room has a lovely ambiance, with great service, food and drink.

We had a lovely evening at The Coast. The decor is really lovely, the menu interesting and varied and surprisingly good value for the quality. The service was friendly and good without being 'over the top' and nothing was too much trouble. Definitely would recommend.

inviting, clean modern italian style food, welcoming staff. good range on the menu for this size of restaurant , fresh presentation on the plate. sunday lunch good and suitable for most diners, some guests opted for the ala carte menu.
