Can't comment on food but nice atmosphere, clean, good prices and friendly staff. I am travelling through via train and arrived early before my next connection so had an hour or so to waste and this place was directly opposite the station so perfect for a pitstop. House red is lovely and barmaid informed of a deal to save myself some pennies. Toilets spotless and clean, whole pub is. Great selection on tap and a huge range of bottles to pick from. Very glad I stopped here for an hour! Also from advertising in the pub they have stuff on every Friday and Saturday so seems a lively place in the evening. Seems to be what I'd call a "proper" pub! Oh and it has a pool table for those who want to play...

Great at the weekend for live music

Good friendly pub. Nice friendly staff, free pool, live bands and open mic. Punter friendly prices during the week which is a massive help with cost of living these days.

Nice pub, great atmosphere, staff are friendly, and a free pool table, £3 a pint, couldn't get much better.

Spent a few hours here with family playing pool and drinking. This pub is clean and staff are welcoming.

Great Saturday night entertainment.

Visiting family and had drinks in the pub, it’s clean and set out nicely, there is a pool table and dart board also a games room. It has a new landlady and staff who were very welcoming and friendly. There was live music on this night a band called unfinished business, which we enjoyed.

Recently used this pub and had an issue regarding paying for my drinks ( Internet issues). The payment went out twice. Rang the pub and the manager couldn't have been apologetic and made sure i was reimbursed. I'm the 1st to criticise bad service, so its only right, I acknowledge good service. And the beer was bloody lovely.

I am giving it five stars as I played there with my band on sat 18th November and the landlady and the bar staff we're so helpful the pub is so clean the beer is good to and if the locals support the live music scene in the area the pub will be in hit. and with the friendly locals who was in the pub I will be getting a train from Manchester and visiting Macclesfield more often 👍🏻

I'm giving 5 stars in the hope that the Salford lass who's just taken this on delivers what this pub sorely needs, consistency!

It is convenient for the station and infinitely better than the cold, draughty waiting room, and it's coughing, sneezing, foul-mouthed inhabitants. Nice beer, reasonably priced, and nice staff, too.

Wouldn’t Evan give one star but it won’t let me give 0 star, Went in today and needed the loo, bar man told me “customers only” I explained I was buying a drink also, he then was laughing about my age! Bare in mind I’m 21 😆😆 felt very welcoming, and then was moaning about my bottle of water in my hand 🤣 when it was 32 degrees outside! So rude

I had time on my hands as I was visiting my dearly loved mum who is being very well looked after in a Macclesfield nursing home by some very kind and caring people.The landlord was very welcoming.I enjoyed a very nice glass of red wine in there and spoke to some of the locals.well worth a visit.thank you very much for very good customer service.

I always call in when I'm in Macclesfield and it's always a great pint.

It was early doors. Nice and quiet

It was dirty and the people working there couldn't get a drink order right and when they were asked about it they had a little domestic saying they will not continue to keep changing the drinks. Taxi driver did warn my party not to go to this pub but we had a function there. We were also advised not to eat there and the taxi man said they called the man flakey this was mentioned in the same context as food discussion. Customer service is diabolical. Smoking area out back is filthy and some wooden chairs had nails sticking out all round the edges. In the small room to side of bar was decorated with displays of dead flowers.

Beer was great and I always get a nice welcome from the Landlord.

I'm not sure what people expect from "a pub" but I came in here as I was coming to Macclesfield to visit my mate in the hospital and it's great. Holts lager (which is always a plus) and a warm welcome from the lady I assumed is the landlady. Across from the station - £2.20 a pint. What more do people want?
