The best pub Sunday roast I’ve had for a long time …I had the chicken but other choices all looked good. Excellent service, friendly staff and great atmosphere. Have visited several times as local but today was the best! Highly recommend and will be back.

Awesome pub lunch today. The vibe & the quality of food & service is excellent. The menu is vast and will suit all tastes & diets + the beer is tasty from the taps. Can’t fault my experience today. I’ll definitely be back for more.

We visited the coach house on 2 occasions within a 6 week period and booked into this lovely establishment, The ambience was cosy and busy in a comfortable way with the service beyond our experience in this modern day. The choice of food made the taste buds drool just reading the menu, and when placed in front of you on the table you understand why. Cost wise it was not expensive concidering the enjoyinment we had whilst visiting local family and will certainly book a return visit next time we come this way. Tony and Margaret.

Traditional pub, traditional menu. Nothing very exciting in terms of beer, but food good & generous helpings. Great baguettes.

Very good. I do like a bit of chill out music whilst I go about my business and, lo and behold, this place played the chill out music. I was going to ask who was responsible but the bar people were busy. Alas - lovely oldy wordly pub, chill out music. And Staropramen. Nice.

Stopped here after walking the Undercliff Walk. It was a Saturday so it was very busy. We got our drinks and ordered a bite to eat. We ended up ordering a second round because it took so long to get our food, must have been close to an hour. I had the halloumi fries which were terrific, but I'm not sure they were worth that long a wait. My husband had a sandwich and chips, an enormous amount of food. The place has a great vibe and we enjoyed the people watching. It's in a perfect location, too.

Attractive bar and dining room downstairs, with another dining room upstairs that has a balcony with a view of the sea (and off shore windfarm in the distance). Order at the bar. Friendly, accommodating staff bring food to your table. The Coach House has the best Ploughman's pub lunch I've ever found - multiple, high quality cheeses, and Cole slaw salad that's not mostly mayonnaise. Secure wifi.

Popped down to see friend at marina walked along coast to Rottingdean and came across pub. A very friendly welcome, excellent food,best home made steak and kidney pie. Good value and variety on menu. Definitely recommend the food and service.

Fantastic ambience and real ales. Stones throw from the beach.

Me and my husband regularly go to the C&H and it is honestly the best place for food. We have worked our way through the extensive menu and every dish is superb. I particularly love the mussels and the lasagna. Portion size is very generous and I can’t fault anything. The waiting staff are so polite and the whole place has such a welcoming feel. It’s our favourite place to eat any day of the week. 10/10

What a gem. Discovered by accident on a very wet and windy evening the welcome was warm, the portions were hugh and food very tasty. Will be coming back and recommending to friends a family. A solid pub, just how it should be

A bit grungy but friendly staff and the drinks aren't too expensive. Top tip get a table on the balcony for fab sea views.

What a gem!!!! It is a pub/restaurant. It does not have fancy decor. It does not have a beer garden, but what it does have is … excellent staff, fantastic selection of beer, amazing food, fantastic menu, reasonably priced wine, a warm welcome. Comfy seats. Dog friendly. Iove, love, love it!!!!

Friendly staff. Lovely atmosphere in the downstairs bar area. They had the Rugby World Cup friendlies on in the upstairs area, we watched England v Wales. It filled up and the food was delicious we both had fish and chips

There are very few pubs left which are independent and run by an ever present Landlord couple. It shows. This is by a long way the best pub in Rottingdean. It boasts an incredible position looking onto the water and great food. Specials are better than the typical pub fare (you don’t expect to be able to order a fresh skate wing on a Tuesday) and there is a strong local following that manages to be vibrant and yet welcoming and not at all cliquey.

Great find today, friendly and relaxed atmosphere, food superb with good portions! Plenty of choice on the specials board.

Thanks Hayley for fitting us in on a very busy St Patrick’s Day. As always the food was exceptional and the atmosphere terrific. We have been coming to The Coach for many years and we have to say that you have consistently delivered great beer and superb food over that timeframe. So if you want to get away from the “boil in the bag” standardised fare that so many pubs wrongly call “homemade”, then this gem of a pub is where you will find genuinely great homemade dishes cooked with care. Thanks.

I love the coach house and their food is great but the only let down is the price that they charge for their sausage rolls! Extortionate

Not the most friendly land lady I've come across, food was smothered in thick gravy, suggested put it in a gravy boat, shrugged her shoulders and took plates away

My husband had lamb and loved it. I had a delicious caramelized gat cheese salad. It is one of the best places we have eaten.

Best cheesy garlic bread in the country…ever…period. And forget the chips! Just go for fish goujons…there isn’t a fish and chip place in town that can compete with this.

Nice pub, but we ordered hot chocolate and it was incredibly sweet, packed full of sugar and almost undrinkable. Probably great if you order beer, but steer well clear of their hot chocolate!

Last minute drop in last night and I have to say that the customer service in this pub is excellent. Everyone was so friendly. The food was amazing and the Guiness also. We liked it so much that we decided to go back tonight with the dog and kids. Thanks for making it such a lovely evening - it's simple things that dont cost anything that make the difference - keep it up.

I managed to sit on their upstairs balcony from open to close, basking in the sun. It is a delightful view of the water and shenanigans on the street below. Excellent service that kept us hydrated and fed. Both whole fish of the days were consumed, and many laughs were had. It is a great pub.

After my bike ride from Worthing to Rottingdean I stopped off at the Coach House for a pint. This is a very nice place. Good selection of drinks and very friendly staff. Nice little benches that rap around the front to relax and enjoy the sun.

The Coach House is an amazing venue right on Rottingdean seafront. The food is absolutely amazing. They have a great selection of drinks as well. The staff are all fabulous. Darren and Hayley the owners are magnificent as well. The atmosphere is amazing as well....

We booked this pub for one night of our three night stay in Rottingdean. Firstly the welcome was warm and friendly, with lots of smiles. Our table was waiting and service was super. Husbandface had a stir-fry and I went with a haddock risotto... Lovely...

Haven't been here for a while, didn't think it was possible but the service and food is even better than before.The upstairs area has been revamped and looks amazing.( Still with the bonus of a fabulous sea view) Tyler and the team went above and beyond with their service.

My friend and I visited this place tonight and as usual tghe food was outstanding. I had chicken and ham pie and the chicken was superb and lots of it. Would thoroughly recommend thiss r estaurant/pub

Friendly staff (including to dogs) and straightforward, good-value catering. It's well-lit, though you can often find what feels like a quiet corner. The window tables are ideal for watching the world go by and, the establishment is very near the sea, so you won't have long to walk to enjoy the sights and sounds of the waves. Parking outside does not become free until 8pm.
