Good choice of real ales with friendly service in a ‘proper’ drinking pub.

Love this old traditional soho pub. Good local vibe and still some characters. Good meeting place . Good value drinks. Toilets cramped but it is an old building. In the heart of Soho . Friendly bar staff.

Always so busy great buzz no BS

I'm sure this place must be popping at night, and great for a quiet lunchtime drink, but I found this pub to be small, very small, and kinda drab. Ordered a speciality double rum and cola at lunchtime, which shockingly came to £15.70. Bar tender was attentive and friendly, but atmosphere was crap tbh. Toilets were so, so small, clean, but again small, lol. I hate giving bad reviews, so I shall be back at a later date.

fine, even nice pub but i was forced to perform a humiliation ritual and harassed by the barman who accused me not once, not twice, but three times of not paying despite the fact that... i had? and it clearly showed that on my bank app yet he still came out and disturbed me + my friends a total of three times. not a relaxing cigarette break! cute pub + love the interiors! xxx

Always has been one of my favourite London pubs, forget it's central it's a lovely boozer, even after changing hands.

An unmissable piece of Soho history. While a semi-regular visitor, this occasion was to see a one-man performance of Jeffrey Barnard Is Unwell in the venue the man himself spent his least-sober moments. Fabulous.

Fabulous it's still a proper pub with excellent beer, atmosphere and staff. Not full of tourists usually either.

A true gem, the lady serving was brilliant, great atmosphere and great beers.

One of the worst pints of Guinness I’ve ever had. £26 for 3 pints is ridiculous for the quality. Service was very average. Barman didn’t seem to want to be there. Once again can’t emphasize how bad the Guinness was. Both Guinness and moretti were very watery.

Querky toilets. Facilities clean and tidy. Good atmosphere quick service

One of the best pubs in Soho. There aren't many establishments in the area that feature craft beer, but this spot does and there's always something new and interesting to try from some of the best modern craft breweries in the UK. Always a must-visit for me when in the area.

Lovely atmosphere, and a welcome pint of pride

Great spot. Good beer snacks, good Guinness, nice staff, nice energy and decor. There are a few coach and horses around but this is the one, not to be mistaken.

Busy pub serving some small batch craft IPAs that are simply delicious. They host a lot of regulars who are more like fans, some inside the pub and several spilling over into the side street.

The Coach and Horses is a Soho institution that is brilliant again after too many years in the cold. The room is beautiful, the service impeccable and the range of beers, both cask and keg, is fantastic. Long may Ali and her excellent team reign.

First time I've been out in Soho in a long time. I was dreading it. Friday busy central bar. Couldn't have been more wrong the vibe was amazing, service was quick. Special shout out to Natalia, made my friend and I feel so welcome. She was great!

One of, if not the best pint of Guinness in central london. Went on a Friday night so it was very busy with a great atmosphere. Despite the busy bar, you get served very quickly. Can’t recommend enough.

Most wonderful experience to return to old workplace after 48 years. Still a meeting place for locals & literary folk. Service from the bar very good. Exterior paintwork & seating outside much better. Glad to see it is still a thriving Pub in Soho.

A favourite watering hole of mine when I'm passing through the area. The Cask is kept impeccably, easily the best in the area. Always a lot of options for Craft drinkers too. Staff always friendly and efficient.

Iconic pub, little changed since days when Norman ran it (though the food has improved). The walls are adorned with Private Eye and Jeffrey Bernard memorabilia, its most famous regular.

Lovely little busy pub in Soho, staff are really friendly, offer quick service and know their stuff! The beer selection changed regularly so there is always something new to try. Defo recommend

Delicious traditional Sunday dinner with a great range of beer’s & a lovely atmosphere. I was served by I believe the manager Ricky, a lovely experience & I will be sure to pop in again when in the area😀

Three of us stood at the bar waiting to order (no other customers) and the two staff right in front of us didn’t acknowledge us or even say hi just carried on their conversation Waited about 15 seconds before we had to ask them if they were serving and can we get some drinks. Wow

Great pub, staff are efficient and mostly friendly. Bonus here is, you can drink freely outdoors and get it served in a pint glass, rest of town is knocking out seven quid pints in plastic disposable. Keep it cool though and be respectful, this won’t last long if you take the Michael. Speaking of him the Guinness is very good here. Great British boozer all round, high recommends for a properly run pub. There’s not very many left.

Had the most lovely evening here, the eyelinered member of staff think her name was Nicole recommended some alcoholic free options for me as I do not drink. Great selection of snacks and drinks and really friendly staff. Would recommend a visit if you’re in the area.

Very nice, traditional pub in SOHO next to the theaters. It is a historic shop with a nice atmosphere and a fantastic speaker. The best choice for a rest stop.

This old boozer stands out for still being ‘authentic’: the interiors, the Soho characters who still drink here (Peter Cook, columnist Jeffrey Bernard) and yes, have an ear out here for Carradine's Cockney Sing-A-Long by the cheeky-charmin geezer that's Tom Carradine (who is also the pianist with Champagne Charlie & the Bubbly Boys)! Lovely jubbly matey, cheers! 🍻

I recently had a stay in SOHO around the corner from this pub. By far my favorite in the area. There is something about it that has a combo of hole in the wall and pub. Wait staff was awesome. I enjoyed sitting there reading and having a pint or 3 on multiple occasions. Support this place, it's still an independent pub and it's got a great vibe.

Once a great Soho drinking institution. Now, closed at 8pm on a Bank Holiday Sunday with Soho packed. Why?

It seems like the bar has lost its charm after changing ownership about five years ago. What used to be a lively spot with singing, piano, and lively conversations has turned quite dull, with no real atmosphere. Even the prices have shot up, and the beer doesn't even taste good.

Rubbish! expansive and poor food.

The beer selection is nice. Seven pound that's super expensive for horrible, rude, unbearable service. They don't have enough chairs outside so I was drinking with other 30 people outside standing although I am handicapped. I saw one of the bartender employees throwing the garbage outside so I asked her nicely if she can please take the empty glass from me. The answer was "No you do it". It's unfortunately how you hire people that ruins your business, it was a red hair girl with glasses, btw I left the glass for her on of the tables, just like everybody else if doing so one of the other employees will pick it up for you hon. I will never come back to that place and I'm making sure none of my guests will visit there I rather pay a taxi to get better suitable service in different area.

Neil is the greatest barman to ever barman

Popped in here for a drink the atmosphere was cosy traditional pub vibes and the seat I was sat on was comfy and they have IPA options which is good!

Finally had the opportunity to come here and it didn't disappoint. They have quite some different kind of beers which I appreciate. Also, very traditional pub as I expected.

Below is my review from 5 years ago. Since then the owner (Fullers) has changed it into a managed pub. The piano has gone, but they haven't materially altered the pub (apart from upgrading the toilets, which was a good idea). It's sad that the old pub has gone, but the new pub still has character and they still have outdoor seating, which is rare in Soho. The upstairs vegan restaurant has also gone, but I think they serve food in the pub. A proper independent London pub; one of the best in Soho (the Star and Garter on Poland Street and the Pillars of Hercules being the others that come to mind). They have proper staff who can serve two people and hold a conversation with a third at the same time. There's a good range of beers. Although I haven't been to one myself, regulars there highly recommend their regular traditional sing-songs around the piano.

Bad beer at over £9.00 a pint, bad layout.

(food meaning pints) This pub has one of the greatest atmospheres of any pub I've ever been to: and there have been a few. Classic interior and fabulous staff right in the heart of Town. Ali and her team are a dream.

Old favourite which maintains its old Soho decor and atmosphere. Worth a visit.

This is a rather famous pub in Soho due to legendary barman Norman (long gone)and the famous people who frequented the pub. Good service and as I would expect from a Fullers pub a wide selection of cask ales. It is a pub that attracts characters, in a good way, and I have had many interesting conversations. The pub could do with a refurbishment but despite that I certainly recommend a visit.
