After reading excellent reviews of this place we decided to try it for coffee and cake on the Saturday which were excellent so we booked for Sunday lunch. We both had an excellent cream of mushroom soup accompanied by a lovely roll. My wife had a superb macaroni cheese with hand cut chips and salad. I had a great lasagne and garlic bread. Excellent staff and the sea view whilst having lunch was great. Definitely a worthy of a return visit.

Thanks to the staff & the chef for a very enjoyable meal & for fitting us in at the last minute. The food was very well prepared; delicious, fresh & cooked to perfection. Everything was well presented and the price was fair. The restaurant itself is clean, simple and inviting with stunning views over the Clyde at sunset. The staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. We will definitely be back!

First return visit since the tearoom has been refurbished and possibly new owner? New entrance area and the Inside looks very stylish and the decor only enhances what is an amazing view of the Clyde Riviera. Great menu, nicely presented tasty food and excellent service! What more can you ask for…..oh, and plenty of home baking treats to tempt you! Would have loved to have seen a vegetarian soup option alongside the meat based one, as per previously, perhaps missing a trick there? Something to consider to cater for a wider audience. Overall a great visit, nice ambience, amazing views, lovely friendly staff and yummy food! What more could you ask for. We will be back! Thanks.

I took my Mum here today and left thinking that the place is a hidden gem. Standard of food for the price is exceptional and the views across the water were amazing. Quite a nice ambience in the restaurant too, with genuinely friendly and helpful staff. Special mention to a staff member who went out of her way to help me when I realised I had left the lights on in my rental car and drained the battery. She went out of her way to drive into town, bringing her father back with a jump starter pack to get us going. Talk about service!

Excellent service in a lovely location. We had lunch of a soup & sandwich & a cake at the Clyde tea room attached to this housing complex . Price was very competitive & the staff were very attentive. It was quite busy which speaks for itself. I will certainly come back in the future

My husband and I frequently ate at this tearoom. It has been closed for repairs to the roof. On opening we visited the tearoom to find new staff. We ordered soup and sandwiches and all I can say is the sandwiches were suitable for doorstops. Our meals used to be lovely with sandwiches cut into four with a side salad. We received two slices of bread with meagre fillings. Please bring back old staff and better knowledgeable chef that makes more of en effort.

We visited here a few years back and had a very disappointing experience so decided to give it another try. It was very quiet, only 2 tables occupied and one waitress. The building is large and airy. The menu is quite small and the prices are a bit on the high side. We got a sandwich (nothing special but tasty enough) with a few crisps and a salad with limp mixed lettuce on the side. Also got a portion of chips which were ok. Fancied a nice cake after reading all the great reviews about them but the cake cabinet was looking rather empty. Not much at all to choose from and nothing appealing so didn’t bother. Nothing enticing me to return sadly enough as we are local.

Drove from Paisley to visit this venue to enjoy lunch and some coastal views on a nice drive out......was not left wanting for either. A beautiful, clear winters day framed the setting for this tearoom brilliantly. Still waters, snow capped hills and a clear sky......Scotland at its best . Great home made food topped the day well. The homemade soup was served with chunky bread, yum, yum. My mum loved her ‘made to her taste’ toastie , ..the filling combination she wanted were not on the menu ‘ no problem’ said the fantastically attentive waitress & her choice was duly provided. My niece enjoyed her omelette, and we all loved sharing the halloumi fries and hand made chips platter!! What a feast ...but we did leave room to sample some of the home baking ( & also bought some to takeaway). The cakes were fabulous . The young lady who served us was very friendly & attentive, a credit to the business. The food plentiful, freshly made and reasonably priced. The venue and views, stunning location! Free , plentiful parking is available. Do yourself a favour and pop in, what’s not to like

Had the most amazing breakfast. At Clyde tearoom. Weymms bay. Family day out for mothers day. Staff were brilliant. The owner Angela. Came over too say hello and see if we were OK. Then I managed to sneak in some apple crumble and custard. Which probably dosent go after a breakfast. But wow. How tasty it is. Great place for food. From breakfast to dinner. And evening meals.. Or if you want a scone and a cuppa. Or home made cakes and bread. Give it a go really nice. And the views over the river Clyde. Outstanding.

We went here for lunch today and were not disappointed, it's a lovely wee place - there was one waitress working who was really nice and friendly - she seemed to be taking orders, serving food, taking payment just herself however this didn't affect the service and her kind manner didn't go unnoticed. We all had a filled hot roll and my son had a meringue which was very tasty, the rolls were lovely too and all for a very reasonable price.I'd definitely recommend eating here and if we are in the area we would return again.

The Restaurant / Tea Room has a beautiful outlook over the water to Rothesay. On a nice day there a few tables outside. Inside it is bright and airy perhaps the sittings a bit basic. It is basically a snack menu... Coffee and cake .soup/sandwiches etc some bar meals. It is not licenced. At weekends there is a meal service on Friday evening and a lunch Sunday afternoon. The quality of food is excellent and the prices reasonable. Parking unlike Largs is not a problem. Service is on the slow side but this due to only cooked to order so worth the wait. Certainly worth a visit a pleasant change from the normal snack restaurant.

We stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant while out walking and what a pleasant surprise it turned out to be. The staff were welcoming and showed us to a table overlooking the water - what a gorgeous view. The menu, while not extensive, is more than adequate for lunch and we happily settled for homemade soup and sandwich which at 3.75 is a great deal. There is also a great range of home baked goods and a daily special on the board. I believe the restaurant is also open at the weekend for evening meals. We will happily return when ever we can. Happy to recommend.

Delicious home baking, unobstructed panoramic views over the Clyde, garden tables, unlimited parking (in short supply up and down the North Ayrshire coast,- Largs is no longer an easy place in which to park,) and friendly staff who go out of their way to respond to individual requests in a leisurely and relaxed environment,- why look anywhere else for a daytime meal?--or dinner on a Friday night. As we have a flat close by, we can just walk along, as do those living in the various properties nearby, and of course inhabitants of Strathclyde House itself. The only other restaurant in Skelmorlie is The Seaview Café, which while having a varied menu, can be busy with patrons coming and going with the ferries, - there is very limited parking, and the view restricted.

We were a bit disappointed with our visit here. Apart from one lovely waitress the staff weren’t very attentive. Two of the younger staff were messing about behind the bar rather than serving customers. The food wasn’t the quality you would expect for the price- We had a small steak and chips with no veg and an open seafood lasagne which was really bitter.
