We recently had lunch at the newly reopened Clock Public House in Chideock. Our portion sizes were actually quite small, and much more like a childs meal, and so not really good value for money. We both came away hungry. As potatoes are quite cheap, there can be no good excuse for such small portions of chips. Disappointing, as the chips were amazing. We also had fried eggs, which were hard, overcooked and the yolks not runny at all. We finished with latte coffees which were not very hot and extremely frothy, so did not have much volume to them. I appreciate the new owners are still finding their feet and I believe these issues may just be teething problems. We wish them luck and feel sure things will improve.

This pub is dog friendly. The staff and owners are excellent, we returned the following evening and Alex remembered the drinks we had previously. Alex recommended dishes off the menu which were cooked superbly by Matt. We enjoyed the board games that are available for customers to play, making our holiday evenings enjoyable.

After spending over £100 on an average meal down at the Anchor we decided to try this pub during our stay at the campsite. We were so blown away with how friendly and kind the staff are and how reasonable pricing the food is. The food is proper pub food, nothing fancy and extortionately priced. There’s much more of a nicer and cosy atmosphere here than down at the anchor. Campers, don’t waste your money and head up to the clock instead!

Booked our party of 34 to come in late (1.30pm) on a Tuesday. Despite the fact that everyone had individually pre-ordered their meals, they were well prepared and on the ball. No mistakes/ omissions. Remarkably fast service from very friendly staff, who were ultra efficient without appearing rushed. Plenty of time relax over a drink and enjoy the food, which was excellent. We had been on a trip to see the engineering works that refurbished our village church bells. Stopping off at the Clock on the way home was a great way to finish the outing. A real bonus!

I went here for an 18th meal and ordered a burger. It came and I picked out around 5 hairs. The only positive was the good nice barmaids. Would not recommend

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Petty bar staff, pathetic management, and disgusting disorganisation are only a few of the major issues we found with this establishment. We were discriminated against as non-locals - so would definitely not recommend if you are new to the area! We booked and then confirmed on the phone, only to be turned away the second we walked through the door due to a complete lack of organisation, first booking us a table 8 people too short, then not writing down our later booking. The woman who dealt with us was unbelieveably rude and completely unsympathetic to the situation, we have never felt so unwelcome and there was a complete lack of willingness to resolve the situation. I wholeheartedly recommend you avoid this place, dingy inside and run by idiots, absolutely no positives.

Very disappointed. £14 for 8 scampis...tough tasteless chicken burger, inedible hard garlic bread, cold undercooked chips, sourish steak pie, watery gravy...no water at table even for the kids. We had a great dinner at the Arts Club. The food was wonderful, the staff were excellent and, being a lovely summer evening, we dined outside in the pretty and surprisingly quiet courtyard.

We were camping just down the road this past weekend and decided to have a browse - I'm glad we did as there was much more to this farm shop than I was expecting. Lots of different produce and gifts type things all quite nicely set out. Some things were sensibly priced considering you do expect to pay a slight premium at a farm shop (postcards 50p, fresh scones £1, clotted cream £1.99), but some of the prices were a little shocking - there were loaves of fresh bread at £4.50 and I nearly had a heart attack when I saw the price of ice cream being served at the side of the car park! Overall a worthwhile trip - the scones were delicious, good selection of ciders and got some lovely warm slipper socks. I'd recommend popping in if you're passing (the views are fantastic too) just don't expect any bargains.

Ate here Friday evening three of us had wood fired pizzas which were delicious, pleasant staff as always. On the Saturday two of us visited for lunch. We had crab sandwiches with a mixed leaf salad, they were tasty enough but £11 seems too much...

We wanted something less corporate for lunch and was pleased to find this cafe as it looked a little more old school and independent. The build your own breakfast offered great choice and when I said I fancied crumpets with marmite rather then the offered jam, was told this was fine. The crumpets came with a generous serving of marmite in a little bowl. This was a great find and having never been a fan of Dorchester improved my opinions if the town (finding the park also helped improve my opinion of the town) .
