We were visiting Sewerby House, and in need of refreshment, called in to the cafe. To say we were disappointed is probably an understatement. The cafe has a captive audience, but needs to get it`s act together. We only wanted coffee & cake, there were umpteen uncleared tables, granted it was fairly busy, but not unduly so. You order at the counter, where I was served by a young man, with zero personality, i placed our order, & then moved down, to the service are. Again another staff member with zero personality, tried to insist, I had ordered tea & hot chocolate, when my order was cappuccino & caramel latte, on production of my receipt, he finally relented. I returned to our table, my wife was beginning to think I had done a runner. I have to say, the coffee was just awful, no taste, no substance, it was so bad we left our cups, after two mouthfuls. I think they need to take a long hard look at themselves, & up their game. By the way, they charge £1.10 for a shot of syrup, in coffee, I have never paid more than 60p.

Not the greatest experience. Service was VERY slow - waited 40 minutes for 3 panini which were also overpriced. Such a shame that the cafe lets down a great day out at Sewerby Hall & Gardens. Packed lunches next time.

A nice but pricey cafe in the grounds of Sewerby Hall , the clock in question was made by an ancestor of mine, so I had a particular interest in checking it out . Not a very large choice of food , but as long as you’re just looking to refuel during your visit quite acceptable but nothing more .

The cafe at Sewerby Hall and Gardens offers indoor and outdoor seating and a selection of drinks and light bites. My son had a children’s lunch box with a pre packed sandwich, crisps, carton of juice and a piece of fruit and me and my partner both had a panini with a sad looking salad on the side. In total the meal was £19.65 (without any hot drinks) which I feel was a little overpriced for what we ordered. The cafe was quite busy and I had to queue for about 10 mins to order, however our hot food did come out in about 5. The staff were doing their best to keep on top of cleaning the tables but it did seem like a never ending battle that they were slowly loosing. The menu does not have any prices on and the specials are not very well advertised at all.

Great place to visit for breakfast and lunch or rest time. The staff were friendly and an incident happen they respond quickly and clear up the mess (glass smash) and double check. The foods was delicious and reasonable good value. They do different selection hot or cold foods and drinks. The service to the table was good manner and assist anything else before disappearing. The view is the garden out to the sea. Overall would Def come back to visit.

After a very windy cliff top walk we then strolled around the gardens at Sewerby Hall, they are exactly as I remember them as a child when I would come with my parents. Sadly Autumn has taken its toll as it does in every garden, but the Monkey puzzle trees are a delight. Feeling quite chilled and tired we ventured into the Clock Tower cafe where food and beverages are served, we only required a drink so my husband had a reviving espresso which he declared “hit the spot” and I had a warming hot chocolate. A perfect place to chill out after an invigorating walk. And for all you pet owners they allow dogs in too.

We found the experience pretty unsatisfactory really, although there was potential. So few staff to so many people made it almost impossible to get something to eat in a reasonable amount of time. A long queue into the courtyard that moved at a snail’s pace. You couldn’t really see what was on offer until you were almost at the front of the queue and there was just one person taking orders. Then invariably there was someone who had failed to take note of their table number before joining the queue. Then you had to find your way back to your table and wait almost as long again before the food arrived. If it had been worth waiting for, it wouldn’t have been so bad, but really it was at best mediocre. A decidedly unsatisfactory experience.

3 years ago this cafe was a joy to visit, all food beautifully presented and tasty. We took some friends a couple of months ago and was only offered toasted sandwiches. We thought this was due to the Covid hangover effect. Went again yesterday lunch time, total rip off only offering a very limited selection with prepacked supermarket style sandwiches and Panini Melts, well that was a joke as to get a panini melted was extra! Hardly any filling and as dry as dust, served with a handful of very wet soggy salad. No mayonnaise or other sauces on the premises what a joke! Looking round there were 4 people in the cafe and us outside although the gardens were busy. Can only think that word is getting around. £21.80 for an abysmal lunch of 2 panin 2 packes of crisps 1 cake and tea for 2!!! Get your game stepped up or I'm sure by the end of the season this cafe will be closing its doors for good!!

Well organised with only one group allowed in at a time, and you wait until you are called in. We only got scones with cream and jam which wasn't expensive and the scones are massive! The first time we went the scone was amazing. Lovely and crispy on the outside but soft inside and not too crumbly and had a lovely fresh taste. Went back for more a few days later to eat in the evening in our hotel but unfortunately one of the scones was not cooked in the middle. Walked back the next day to get it replaced and the man I spoke to was very nice and apologetic and gave me a replacement (which tasted very good!) Will be back for more scones next time I'm in the area.

Before spending our time in the Sewerby Hall grounds, we had our lunch here at the Cafe, we ordered Sausage Baps and drinks, not the cheapest but worth waiting for, the bap consisted of two sausages butterflied in the bap and was accompanied with a side salad which we ate in the late September sunshine outside the cafe at a picnic table. No real complains other than we had to wait quite a while for our food after ordering it, however the Baps were hot and quite tasty.

After walking from Flamborough head we needed a well deserved rest and a drink by the time we arrived here.It was just about nice enough to sit outside so we went to get a table. The queue didn't look too long but it took ages to get to the front as it was barely moving. Not exactly sure what the problem was, maybe a mixture of being slow plus the silly layout where you can't really see the food in the displays as the queue is in the way. After 200 years (or so it felt!) We got to the front to order our food.I had a latte which was acceptable but nothing special. I could tell from the 2 round shaped holes in the top of the milk that it was from a machine, and that's how it tasted. However, I had a slice of the black cherry almond slice which was really nice. Very soft with a great almond flavor and a thin layer of cherry.Everyone else had scones which were very good, even got a choice of clotted or whipped cream.Overall a very nice place to sit after a long walk. The cakes and scones are recommended but average hot drinks.

We called in after looking round Sowerby Hall. It was only 12:00 and there was a few people already seated and eating. I tried to order lemon chicken jacket potato to be no chicken available. I then ordered tuna mayonnaise jacket. My husband ordered a ham, cheese and tomatoe baguette. We paid and sat at our table for about 10 minutes to be told that there where no jacket potatoes available would I change my order. I ordered tuna mayo baguette. Ten minutes later a waitress brought us two tuna baguettes. We were told that we had changed both baguettes. After some more confusion we got the right baguetts. We then had to ask for a refund. The baguetts were very nice but we couldn't enjoy them properly.

A Bank Holiday Monday. A Trip to the East Coast. Sewerby Park just outside Bridlington on the road to Flamborough Head is a favourite destination - has been for the last several decades. How many decades I'm not saying. Just like my Dad in years gone by, driving the family's Austin Lichfield saloon car, we picked our way on the byways from village to village, community to community, to get to Bridlington and then on to Sewerby avoiding the A64 and all the queuing traffic. Curiously enough, on a bright Bank Holiday Monday morning, it was traffic coming the other way that was queuing as if there was a mad panic to leave Bridlington and the Yorkshire Wolds. But we made easy and steady progress in the opposite direction.Arriving at Sewerby, the car park was filling up nicely. It's still free and likely to remain so according to our friendly car park attendant. Paying admission to enter the grounds of Sewerby Hall it's straight to the Clock Tower Cafe. Now the Clock Tower Cafe, along with Sewerby Hall and the rest of the estate, has had a European grant makeover. Being all the better for it, it's well done to the EU and the Sewerby Estate for a splendid job.At the Clock Tower, we'd decided on bacon and sausage butties to be washed down by our respective latte and cappuccino coffees. Hearing the customer in front being asked if she preferred a white or brown bap for her bacon buttie we were ready to ask for brown. Orders were then given to the waitress on the till for the coffees and brown baps. Then a lady cook behind the waitress on the till asked which table we were sat at. We hadn't given that a thought, so I left the counter with the lady cook and pointed to any empty table at the far end of the room. That done, I returned to the till to pay for the morning 'feast' that had been ordered - it was my turn to pay. At this point, the waitress then said 'what are you having'. So I said 'what she ordered'. 'But I need a table number before I can do the order' or words to that effect came the reply. The order was then repeated with the same brown bap choice. 'We don't have any brown baps but I can do a brown sandwich for you' said the lady cook standing behind the waitress at the till. 'White baps will be fine, thank you anyway' says I. One more choice was butter or no butter - butter of course.Meanwhile I sensed the queue behind might be on the point of agitation with all of the table choosing and reordering going on so, as I paid, I turned to apologise for all the delay I seemed to have caused. Then came a surprise. The cost of coffees and baps was much cheaper than the same fayre in my favourite M & S. On to the table with our coffees on a tray - it was number 20 table by the way - to wait for the bacon and sausage baps on white. Then the second surprise. The baps came with a salad garnish and a scattering of Dorritos. This was far above expectations and clearly a much better offering than M & S would do, unless of course you paid extra for the salad and Dorritos. Now that's the 'new' Clock Tower Cafe at Sewerby Park, very clean, very tidy, impeccably presented staff in nice uniforms and well able to deal pleasantly with an awkward customer like me. It has my seal of approval - a big thank you to the staff for a good start to a good day at the Sewerby Estate and a good cliff top walk into Bridlington and back.

We enjoyed freshly made sandwiches & delicious home made cakes.Often cafes within tourist attractions are over priced, with substandard food. Nothing could be further from the truth here. Lots of home made food & reasonable prices. Everything was amazing.

Usually call in for a freshly made sandwich and hot drink. Always friendly. Can be very busy and seating a problem if the weather is wet. Part of the cafe is open for dog walkers to sit and enjoy a snack.

We stayed at a cottage in the village of Sewerby, which is on the outskirts of Bridlington. This lovely café is part of the Sewerby Hall, does a great line in cakes, sandwiches, baguettes , baked potatoes, and salads. It's a welcome find after walking round the Hall and gardens. It's clean, dry! Warm and has friendly staff. A little oasis in the countryside.

I have been in better cafes. Not enough seating and what there was seemed too big for the venue. No clear signage and food and drinks overpriced.

It's the location that makes this cafe. Absolutely beautiful spot. Well worth a walk along the cliffs to the gorgeous sewerby park. A stroll around the grounds and then a steaming cup of hot chocolate sat outside in the fantastic sea air.

Shame , as it was really quite pleasant sat outside the clock tower cafe today with our dogs after a walk, that the food standard was really rather poor. My salmon baguette arrived and it was awful! The salmon was chunks tipped into the baguette out of a tin complete with bits of bones and skin! I expected nice flaked pieces of freshly cooked salmon. With it came some tortilla crisps and a pathetic little salad. My partners chicken baguette was of a similar poor standard. So two hot drinks and two filled baguettes costs over 12 pounds. Come on Bridlington council this does not represent good value for money! Nobody minds paying for quality but this certainly wasn't it. Disappointing, this place could be a delight.

Came here for a late lunch after visiting the hall. Prices really reasonable and food portions generous. Had a jacket potato which was served quickly. Good choice on menu.

A typical cafe you'd expect attached to a period hall. Self service cafeteria style, with cooked food delivered to your table. The building is Grade II listed - look for the moving clock pendulum in a glass case. Seating inside and outside, clean and tidy with dirty plates collected quickly.

Sewerby Hall and gardens is just a place we have been coming to for years. The Clock Tower Cafe is an must first stop once entering the location. It has been fully refurbished and is quite smart, albeit you have to queue to get served. The outdoor tables are in lovely locations, either at the front overlooking gardens (where the flower bed clock used to be) or in the courtyard at the back. All very simple but very nice.

We had sandwiches, cream tea, and a cup of tea here. Coronation and Lemon Peppered chicken sandwiches tasted so fresh and were crammed with lots of chicken, cup of tea was good, but the star was the cream tea. The cream was not clotted cream but that did not matter, the scone was the best that we had ever tasted and for £2.05 that was a bargain. We could go back for more because we run out of holiday. Shame.

We went on a quiet Sunday afternoon out of season because the previous review said they allowed the dog to go inside. I asked if we could take the pup in and sit out of the way in the corner. The lady said no sorry I don’t allow dogs in at all.

We had lunch at The Potting Shed with family. This was a return visit, and we think it’s the best garden centre restaurant in the area. Soup was carrot and coriander (delicious, could’ve eaten more!), sandwiches were very fresh, and the haddock and chips were delicious. Restaurant is very clean and well laid out, tables not too close together. I’m sure we’ll be back!

This cafe is now called Miss Bs pantry. Very friendly ladies and delicious food. As a coeliac myself I have to have gluten free. This is very well catered for here so my partner and I have visited on numerous occasions.Various selection of savoury dishes and cakes. Lovely latte too. Well worth a visit.

Amazing food with an equally amazing view. £50 for a family of 4 including drinks, definitely value for money. Will definitely go back.
