Have been meaning to visit here for ages after a colleague brought a biscoff cheesecake from here to work for her birthday. Bought 2 cakes and they were absolutely devine, I can't actually remember the last time I enjoyed a cake as much as I did these ones 😋. I intend to try everything on the menu this year. As well, the lovely warm welcome I received when I arrived in the shop and at my visit from the ladies was worth going back for, so nice and friendly. Cannot recommend Clay and Tun enough and can't wait to go back.

The smells are mouthwatering, service is fantastic ,best coffee for miles around,staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about the surrounding area delight to visit

Called for a coffee on Tuesday afternoon, all the usual homemade cakes to tempt you . Think Jess is about to start her Winter menu with even more homemade goodies to tempt you , friendly banter as well , what more could you ask for ? Can't wait for my next visit. 😁

Went with daughter this week, she had a scrambled egg and beans, toast. Well cooked, presented and was delicious.. I had a cake and we both had latte coffees .,, All superbly served by the Owner, Jess... ably supported by staff, that includes mum and brother..

Visited here today and was not disappointed. Lovely decor , warm and inviting. Lovely welcome by the lady behind the counter who I later found out is the mother and the daughter very friendly, accommodating and nothing too much trouble. Excellent food, cake is to die for, had to take a few cakes home to try later and I was not disappointed. Will definitely come back And highly recommend it.

Went for a walk with my friend this morning and came across this gem! Lovely coffee and cakes and staff very friendly. Will definitely visit again!

A hidden gem in the village of Clayton. My wife and I had heard glowing reports of the Clay and Tun coffee house and so we decided to call in to see what all the fuss was about. We weren't disappointed. Although it is diminutive in size it is comfortable and extremely welcoming. When I looked at the menu I couldn't resist trying the Pie and Peas. The pie was a large slice of Cornish Pasty Slab, and was absolutely delicious, and the mushy peas were an example of what mushy peas should be. I had said I would share the pie with my wife, it was certainly big enough, but sadly the taste got the better of me and before I knew it I'd scoffed the lot! The coffee is a revelation! Freshly made to order and with such a lovely rich aroma and flavour, it reminded me of the happy times I spent in the tiny back street cafes of Paris in my youth. Clayton is a lovely village and is enhanced by small independently owned businesses such as the Clay and Tun Coffee House. I would highly recommend people to call in - I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

We visited this afternoon after hearing all the good reviews and seeing the delish cakes on FB. I attended with niece and her 2 month old daughter only to find you where closed! Opening hours are until 4pm...we walked across at approx 2, 215pm. If you say you are open all day then please do so otherwise change your opening hours on your website. Such a shame.

Visited today for the first time after seeing the wonderful posts on social media and after a friend's recommendation My friend and I had cake each and cappacinos to be honest there was so much to choose from it was so hard making a decision , everything is homemade and looks so tempting . The cake was delicious, a fab little place with really lovely staff we will definitely visit again :-)

Met up with friends and family for quick lunch break. Food was terrific and service was outstanding as always.Cant fault the staff or food always friendly and helpful,can't wait to go again.

Visited with my daughter and I had the blt and cheese panini - so so tasty Staff are lovely too. There was a selection of buns and cakes too Yum yum

I’m always on the lookout for new places to have a bite to eat and a catch up with friends. After I’d seen photos and positively sensational comments on Facebook I visited here with a friend for lunch. Small corner cafe, with good display of delicious cakes and a minimal but adequate menu with a variety of toasties, sandwiches and wraps to choose from. Salad boxes could also be purchased. We ordered our food which was obviously freshly made as we waited a while before it came - a great plus point and the tea pots came with lovely calf-shaped milk jugs and mugs on a saucer. There was a simple side salad on each plate with crisps. The prices were also very reasonable. The only negative would be that friends and family of the owner were bobbing in all the time and at one point seemed to take over the small seating area we were in and allowed children to get up and down and out of seats, move furniture around and generally make a racket. When the children were reprimanded it was a bellow rather than a quiet word. I have 5 grandchildren of my own and my friend has the same so neither of us is averse to children but found it very difficult to hear each other and enjoy our food comfortably. I love having family and friends near but think if it was my business I’d be looking at the paying customers view of the situation.

Popped in for lunch here and had such a friendly welcome with great coffee . Chicken Tikka salad was really tasty and great for the health conscious but the cakes were absolutely amazing but not so good for my waistline!! I’ll definitely be back . Highly recommended.

Popped in to Clay & Tun yesterday and enjoying it throughly. Small but beautifully decorated. The menu was good with lots to chose from such as breakfast, sandwiches, panini, jacket pots and salads. The cakes are also amazing so make sure you leave room!!

It was my birthday I stopped off early doors to buy treats for work. The place looks great and the cakes are absolutely amazing.
