Great community resource for walkers and cyclists. Only open Sundays but well worth a detour down Jinney Lane if you are in the Pendle area. Lots of information about the original Clarion initiative and the socialist movement. We ordered drinks and a biscuit (take your own pack up if you want) and got into a conversation with a local lady. Before we knew it we were putting the world to rights!! Amazing views too. Ran my volunteers so go support them !

Clarion house is an historic building built by the early socialist as a place to eat a packed lunch whilst out for a ride on the bike or walking. It's a charming little place nice and snug. Well worth a visit

Found this little gem whilst on a walk...thought it was closed but on inspection it was open! Friendly service, excellent value, an open fire and such a unique place, what more can you ask for!

On a very crisp Autumn Sunday we received a warm welcome at the Clarion with its coal fire, pint of tea (made the old fashioned way with loose tea leaves) and refectory benches and tables creating a communal experience hard to find in modern day life. Historic, rustic, a haven for walkers and cyclists, visit their website to understand the Clarion's socialist traditions. Love this place.

Entonces, Ribby Whalley, Broughton, etc.

One of the best Sunday lunches I have ever had - the slow-cooked beef was delicious. This place deserves to be packed out - a real gem.

Awesome place, don't walk past it, go in! (If you're a day tripper put it on as a must visit). Only popped in for a quick beer with a mate. It is wonderfully homely and quirky at the same time. Masses of music memorabilia from the 1960s onwards, I relived my life from 6yrs to well many more years in there! Super friendly staff, even showed me the 'gig' cellar. Dog friendly too. Will definitely be going back!

This place was such a good find, we’d been for a walk and passed by a number of cafes all closed on a Monday, this place saved us. Humble Pie had a lovely selection of hot food and cakes and we were able to take them away to eat on the way home. Really surprised it wasn’t busier when I went in as it’s a gem! Cheese and onion quiche was the star for me.
