Very yummy food, well-presented and a nice atmosphere to enjoy the meal in.

We popped in here by chance on a Friday afternoon - wonderful, friendly and fun staff. Great atmosphere and decor (will appeal to tourists looked for an authentic Olde London vibe) - fish and chips for lunch were outstanding - fresh, light and delicate batter.

We arrived at The Clarence walking through its nearby streets. What made us come in was the smell of the food they made and the good atmosphere there was. We were lucky to be in an upper room, very nice and quiet. The place is for photography. We ordered fish and chips, it was very good and the price was reasonable for the location. Akshay attended us, very friendly and attentive. Without a doubt, it's on my London list!

Conseguimos mesa de chiripa ya que la zona estaba completa, todos los pubs atiborrados de gente y con bastantes problemas para encontrar sitio siquiera para tomarse una pinta. El trato de los camareros fue excepcional, atentos y simpatiquísimos en todo momento, las recomendaciones cerveceras fueron muy acertadas además. Comida típica de pub pero con un puntito superior, comimos fish & chips, pastel de carne y brownie de postre, todo delicioso y muy apetecible. No es un sitio barato pero merece mucho la pena.

Very nice plate to have dinner or drinks with a quieter place which makes a perfect place to talk while enjoying the music and pub environment.

La última vez que vinimos en noviembre estaba muy ocupado y no podíamos conseguir una mesa, pero esperamos hasta que uno estaba disponible, ya que estábamos desesperados por comer aquí. Volvimos de nuevo el viernes 14 para almorzar y con el día de San Valentín me aseguré de reservar una mesa para que sin duda pudiéramos conseguir nuestra solución de nuestro pub favorito! ¡No decepcionó! La comida era genial y muy bien presentado. Es una gran relación calidad-precio y los calamares es LO mejor! Gracias Clarence. ¡No puedo esperar hasta nuestra próxima visita!

Pasé a tomar una copa temprano el viernes. Bonito, acogedor, personal alegre y buen vino a precios muy decentes para Mayfair. Me gustan los pubs Nicholson ya que venden una buena gama de vinos decentes a precios asequibles. Ojalá todavía sirvieran la rosa Prosecco por copa. Sin duda volvería la próxima visita y probaré la comida también.

It is such a nice place but like everything around here, it is expensive as well. We ordered sides and they all were super tasty. Great beer collection.

This place has a very beautiful bar atmosphere and is definitely a great pie place.

Stopped in late last week for a quick drink, ended up being recommended a superb Japanese whiskey by Juste. Ended up buying Sausage and Mash, which was lovely. Mash was very fluffy and great tasting. Pub has kind of an old world vibe with dark panelling and comfortable leather chairs. A full selection of gins and whiskeys sit on the back bar. 10/10 would come again.

After a long day out friends and I wanted to go for some food and visit a new place. We walked past it a couple times and each time looked as if everyone was enjoying themselves, I can understand why. Service was outstanding and very accommodating. Thank you for an excellent experience

Expensive, charged service for drinks ordered at the bar. Made to assemble chairs around our table in a certain way. Won’t be going back

We are occasional customers at this pub and have usually enjoyed our visits. Today, however, while the beer and food was of the usual good standard, our experience was spoiled by two factors: First, there was a loud and foul mouthed dispute between two members of staff and secondly, an additional 10% service charge was added to my food order which, given the ensuing argument and unpleasant atmosphere, I would certainly not have paid. This has put us off returning to what used to be one of our favourite central London establishments. I have updated this review to say that I was most impressed with the speed and efficiency with which the pub management responded to my review and associated complaint. I was contacted within a couple of hours and received a full apology and, by the following day, the matter had been resolved to my complete satisfaction. Many thanks to the management team for their swift and appropriate response.

Pies are good but they really can't make a cup of tea. On both my visits so far it's been a tea bag in a cup of tepid water: very disappointing.

Marcus, Rashab, Asankhar gave me very good service. I thought i was here for good drinks, but i found out the food is top draw. Come here for not only the drinks but the food might just be better

Nice enough pub. Whereas it has been too crowded in the past, it was quite quiet on a Monday evening. Enough so for a party of 9 to get space to sit easily. The service was fine, but a little slow. There was no, or very quiet music, perfect for talking among a bigger group. It would be a bit quiet on your own though.

Excellent pub Mayfair. Reasonable prices. Chicken burger was excellent. Good selection of taps too.

Good pub grub, and their pies are pies. The service was a ok and there was a good selection of beers on tap. The menu had a good range of pub classics, and the range of pies were better than your average pub. No one checked up on us during the meal, but once we had finished they came over. It is a quiet venue.

My family and I went there on Christmas Day. It was very busy of course, but they have been kindly enough to find us table (for 3). We asked for 3 beers and a portion of nachos, but they told us that the kitchen was quite busy. Half an hour later, we saw that people that arrived after us received pies, burgers, or fries. We then asked again for the nachos, but they us again a huge no. The owner/manager was also rude with mother who asked for the nachos. I’m disappointed because I totally understand if you can’t serve hot meals on Christmas Days, but it should be equal for every body, there are no class A or B customers.

We went in to the Clarence to get our first authentic Sunday Roast in the UK. The staff made the experience so worth it and the food was delicious!

Perfect group catch up venue, booking was seamless, the area allocated was great. 14 ppl all able to grab drinks and have food if they wanted it. Super relaxed ans flexible. Just perfect for the group catch up organised.

It's the place to unwind after a day in the office - evidently. Great mix of nice friendly people, even high brow "white collar" middle/upper class letting their inner worst out - it's more f-words from them than others - IT'S A POSITIVE... If not for the bad language, come for the great service and friendly staff! Highly recommended.

Expensive for an pint & took ages to get an pint even though it wasn't busy.

We were part of a tour group.- roast beef with Yorkshire pudding,gravy, baked carrots,turnip & potatoes (these were extremely hard to cut but were soft inside) the dessert - brownie with ice cream-the brownie was good but I don't eat ice cream. The meal was okay, nothing to rave about. The baked carrots were the nicest part of the meal. Some of people's meat was too cooked, it should have been rare-ish in the middle.

I ordered the Sunday roast. My wife ordered the pie which was commendable. Both are delicious, especially the gravy, which is the best in the UK. The staff were friendly and the Christmas decorations were lovely.

We had booked a table for dinner but arrived earlier. The staff were very accommodating in finding us a table even though the place was very busy. Special mention to the Scottish man who was organising all the tables. I'm sorry I didn't get his name. He was very polite, helpful and accommodating even though a large party of 47 had just arrived too. He made time for us, made sure we were happy with the table. Great food too.

Never a long wait for food or drink, good atmosphere and clientele and Stuart always goes the extra mile for customer satisfaction!

We booked a table for 5-7pm. Unfortunately due to awful traffic arriving into London and then an Uber driver who refused to take us into the city, we quickly realised we weren’t going to make the allocated time. I rang and spoke to Stuart who was ever so friendly and accommodating and told us to let him know when we arrive as we had a wheelchair user and that he would bring the ramp out. We arrived eventually at 6.30pm meaning we could only fit in a very quick drink before our reservation at the nearby Ritz. Stuart couldn’t be any more accommodating, he was so lovely with my mother who isn’t a confident wheelchair user, he ensured we had an accessible table near the door and ensured we were served drinks immediately and personally. He also gave us some handy tips about where to go when we were heading to the ritz, what entrance they use for wheelchairs. He realised we were celebrating a birthday and made a huge fuss as well as explain to me that if I go into the Ritz and speak with someone on the right hand side where the piano was, that they would sing happy birthday and they absolutely did. The whole experience from start to finish with Stuart was amazing, we couldn’t have been happier and would recommend this pub hands down!!!

We wanted a fast lunch, but unfortunately I ordered a meat pie which took a long time to arrive. The staff were nice and gave us 20% off unsolicited.

We came here 30min before close for and asked for some sticky toffee pudding. The kitchen had just closed but they made it for us! And It was well worth it. We only had one night in London and I wanted sticky toffee pudding it was amazing! If we ever come back to London I’ll come back here just for the memory and good service despite the raver music I still loved it!!! The staff is amazing!

Wonderful find, after a long day of traveling happened upon this pub. Food was delicious and presented with refinement. Sausage & Mash and Chicken with Chorizo were ordered. Would highly recommend.

Have to order by QR and then the payment screen has the balls to ask for a tip. A bit rich when basically no service provided. No one likes QR it just shows the lack of commitment to customers and a priority to maximising profits

We decided to go to a dog friendly pub to have a roast and we found this on google. After they sit us on the first floor, where only two more tables were having sunday roast, the waiter very embarrassed come to the table with a bowl of water for our little Luna, and at the same time he told us that the manager wanted us to sit on the floor downstairs, because apparently upstairs dogs are not allowed. I have not found this indication on their websites or somewhere else. We left and went next door to enjoy our lunch and we found a great dog friendly venue, with not only the staff kind and dog friendly, but even the manager.

Amazing and huge quantities food with reasonable prices, well located and amazing atmosphere

Do not come!! Grey goose served as ‘house’ vodka, while Absolut and others sat on the shelf. Not to mention they used a bottled soft drink instead of the tap. Out to take advantage of tourists. Will never be returning.

Superb Sunday for my friends and me especially thankyou for food had Sunday roast beef one of the best beef i had ever in my life and nut rosat for my friends and Rishabh gave amazing and quick service to us. We loved his presentation of cocktails.

Very commercial. When you have finished your meal even with you have given à tip you must get out...i need the table. The Bill was on the table before the end of the meal break. Really unfair

My daughter and I had a great lunch on a rare hot day in London at The Clarence. I didn’t know when we walked in, but they had a/c. Major bonus! I had the Shepherds Pie which was delicious. The gravy was out of this world and took the dish to the next level. My daughter had the British version of chicken nuggets and chips from the small bites menu and they were nicely fried with a lot of flavor. We were sitting near another family who were back for their second visit! Would return as well if in the area again!

We popped in here for lunch and were so impressed. The guy behind the bar was very friendly and helpful- very knowledgeable about the beers on offer too!. Food came out super quick- good portions and yummy (we had the Mac and cheese and shepherds pie). It's tucked down a side street so was quite quiet when we visited but I'm sure gets busier at night!

I came into The Clarence a few nights ago with a friend of mine, and was made to feel so welcome by Stuart, His attention to detail is superb. He explained everything clearly and gave good recommendations. Our cocktails were lovely and the food was excellent too. Keep doing what you’re doing. We will be back.

Fab pub with loads of atmosphere and fantastic staff particularly Stuart who made my birthday weekend end on a high. He was very customer focused and genuine. I would thoroughly recommend this pub which is a sensibly priced haven in a expensive area 😊
