Fantastic service with Marcus tonight! There were 9 of us for drinks and dinner. We could not have had a better server. Food was wonderful but service was even better. Definitely recommend stopping in for a drink and dinner- especially the beef pies!

This pub is a 5 mins walk from Piccadilly Circus and it was well worth the walk. I went with work who organised group tours and was seated upstairs. Really great atmosphere and really friendly staff who couldn't do enough for us. I had the roast chicken and Veg and chocolate brownie for dessert. The portions were huge (I ate every bit) and delicious. Food came out quick for all 50 of us and all piping hot. The quality of the food was stunning. I know I'll be back when I'm not working to sample more of the menu. Thank you to everyone who looked after us.

I liked this place but it's touted as a place for gins but no gin menu in sight. Very busy night though and a little bit stuffy as it was so warm. We got the gin menu eventually but they need to make it a bit more obvious. Didn't eat here

Came in with family for a few drinks with family. Brilliant service from Lee and Juste as always. You’re sure to get a warm welcome every time you visit the Clarence.

Love the food and atmosphere. We come here a lot but something has to give with the service. It is always a struggle and like we are bothering them. Table service is even worse. Management, PLEASE FIX!!

Had the England v Ireland rugby on so a great atmosphere. Shame you can't get a small fruit juice. not everyone wants 1/2 pint and it come out of a cheap carton too so no excuse

Visited in September 2023. 4.5/5. First time visit to this pub for after work, catch up drinks on a Friday evening, late September. I made a table reservation. The pub had a lively atmosphere, was deceivingly bigger than it looks. The service was really good - made to feel welcome and had the menu explained. TC specialises in a variety of Gins and cocktails, mixed in with your usual favourites, the pub provides all that you need. The seating is fairly comfortable but wasn’t all that. Fairly clean overall. There is a dining area upstairs, the food looked good from what I saw and menu had the classic staples. Overall, a really good experience.

Awful restaurant. We order food and they just forgot our order. When complaining about the 45 minutes delay, nobody at the restaurant seemed to care.

I came here for the first time a week ago for a date with my boyfriend and we were amazed at wonderful service we received from Jagoda. She looked after us very well, showing her amazing hospitality skills. We enjoyed thoroughly the experience, food was delicious, drinks were great but definitely Jagoda was outstanding. Thank you again! We will definitely come back and recommend this place to our friends and family.

It was my first experience of being in such place and it was really good. Especially the pies, atmosphere and servers everything were perfect.

I had visited to the Clarence pub where i had order garden platter it was looking like wow delicious and tasty by looking it it was mouth watering same in taste had some soft drinks best ever food and place I had visited in my life love to see this place again 😊🤞

Enjoyed a delicious dinner here on my one night in London. Rishabh was absolutely incredible—some of the best service I’ve ever had anywhere, period. The Neck oil IPA is a must try. It was hard to resist a third pint 😊

Pies are good but they really can't make a cup of tea. On both my visits so far it's been a tea bag in a cup of tepid water: very disappointing.

Das schlechteste Pub, dass wir in unserem Londontrip besucht haben. Die Bedienung könnte sich nichtmal unsere Bestellung von 2x Fries merken. Nach einmal nachfragen und 30 min warten brachte er uns nur eine Portion. Wir wurden quasi ignoriert. Das Ambiente ist moderner als man es von klassischen Pubs gewöhnt ist und wirkt etwas ungemütlich. Außerdem unverhältnismäßig teuer. Definitiv keine Empfehlung!

The service is pretty bad. If you dine upstairs, the waitress won’t take orders which require her to go downstairs to take the drink from the main bar.

No children Sunday lunch menu poor service forgot a meal then try to charge us £40 service charge would not return

I booked a table online which was ‘confirmed’, only to arrive to a jam packed bar and be told that it was not confirmed after all and that the booking system was flawed. We had to leave so it’s safe to say I won’t be returning.

Had drinks here as food was overly priced for what it was. Atmosphere was good they had their Christmas lights and decorations up.

Booked a table almost a week ahead but the pub didn't prepare it. Told the manager, he disappeared upstairs and never came back to us to give us a table or check that everything was ok. We had to keep asking the bar staff to honour the booking, eventually after 45min-1hr we got a table, only because we had to keep asking and overall it was an unpleasant experience. Coupled with that the kitchen stopped taking orders by around 9:30pm. I now saw the manager's response, appreciate that. If the IT system accepted bookings but there weren't going to be space, since the booking was done days ahead, we would appreciate the staff getting in touch to let us know, or cancel our booking from their side, rather than keep it active.

Good pub situated near the ritz, 2 guest beers and the usual line up of lagers. Place is quite small. Did not eat so no comment on the food

Aucun effort avec les étrangers, on a même entendu d’une serveuse «  qui peut s’occuper de la table 6 il comprennent rien » Nous sommes rester choqué. Cuisine pas mal mais service nul. Tout le mondes ne sait pas parler anglais parfaitement

We visited the Clarence on Dover Street, London after a baptism locally. We went to speak to Lee when we were looking for places to have a reception afterwards. He was extremely receptive and accommodating to our requirements. On the day the service was awesome. All of our guests had a great experience! Thank you, Leigh, and the team for all your efforts to make a special day, even better!

Wonderful to see the Manager at The Clarence is Lee Hubbard, who I have not seen since he did an excellent job as Manager of The Garrick Pub London W1. He strikes the right balance between being personable, attentive and letting customers enjoy catching up with each other. Waitress in Restaurant, whose Polish name means blackberries or similar was attentive and sweet. Both ground floor bar and 1st floor restaurant had comfy seating - I get fed up with uncomfortable chairs. The 1st floor restaurant has attractive decor and furniture providing a delightful ambiance. The Bangers & Mash my friend chose was deemed delicious. My schnitzel had crunchy batter but couldn't taste the garlic. Perhaps the option of a garlic aoli on the side for garlic lovers. Desserts were enjoyable.

We suggest to stop in this place, very good food and very kind people. Perfect!

I was extremely overcharged. I ordered 1 madri and 2 white wines. I was charged for 2 madris and 2 wines and a bubble and squeak? The bar tender was rude. IT didnt feel like they made a mistake more like they intended to overcharge me! They provided a refund which i still haven't got and wanted me to pay again! Very embarrassing. Ruined the whole atomosphere. Dont just tap check the amount. Robbing, Thieving rats!

I have been there before, its quiet upstairs. But the food was terrible in particular the 'T bone' steak was so stringy it could not be cut with the cutlery provided. it was not a T bone as my photo shows, I know my meat, it was not rare and not trimmed the gristle was impossible I gagged at one point. I request you refund my £27 + service on the grounds of misrepresentation. the chef shoudl have spotted that this was a different cut, one suspects that no chef was involved in the preparation of this meal. At £59.79 this was a very shortsighted service. in the event of a full refund I shall return and have another try. its a waste of an asset.
