Great looking old pub, fires roaring when we came in. Staff all very friendly, lots of choices on the menu. Went for the bacon chop: really tasty and succulent, great fries, loved the piccalilli with it, and the onion rings were to die for!

We really enjoyed our meal. More than just pub grub - they seem to take a pride in providing a bit of variety and excellent range of meals. We couldn’t fault our 3 courses. The service was also excellent with very polite and pleasant staff.

Loch Arthur Creamery and Cafe

02/05/2019: Great selection on offer in the Cafe, all freshly prepared and delightful to eat.Good selection on offer in the Shop, especially the Bread.
09/04/2019: We enjoy a visit to Loch Arthur. Can be very busy at lunchtime, but food is tasty and freshly prepared. We had an afternoon coffee + cake this time. Service is friendly, and the cakes are great. Carrot cake and coffee cake were our choices this time - delicious, big slices and not overpriced. The toilets are clean, and the shop sells a variety of tempting products. We bought the Victoria plum jam and Loch Arthur’s own orange and chocolate biscuits which are really yummy. Lots of healthy foodstuffs, toiletries and household items on sale. Definitely worth a visit.

Stir it

25/02/2019: At the end of the main street where you might expect no further cafes, spotted due to the teapot sign on the gable end. It was exceptionally busy and we had to wait a while as food is cooked to order. A wide ranging menu with some unusual and delightful dishes, etc. The vegan salads were properly made with toasted kale, pine nuts, etc and were a treat. My Eggs Benedict was just right and the special Italian hot chocolate was a great experience. Really good quality and variety of home baking so we took extras for the train home. A number of books and speciality items are for sale. Magazines are supplied if you have to wait. Staff were very busy and still gave full attention.
09/01/2019: Looks humble on the outside but it's quite cosy inside. Piece de resistance however is coffee. Absolutely fantastic. Deservedly the place won first price for coffee in 2017. And it is not just in town. Food also looked enticing. The cafe is only a minute away from town centre as well as the little port ; easy to find.
