the food was amazing until desert i brought an apple crumble served to me freezing cold, asked for another one and was served dry and tasted like powder. and needs more seating as I had a pram with me and a wheelchair

This was a fantastic pub for dinner, with a grand theatre design! The walls follow the history of Goole's shipping industry, counter is well presented too. Staff were really nice and I enjoyed a cheeseburger meal with a Hazy Jane, appreciating the comfy seating!

It's a wetherspoons so it delivers what it says............good decent food at reasonable prices............polite staff 👌

Great food great place but the locals can get too loud. Still go back though as the noodle dish is lovely. Salad is a bit sparce though.

The City & County is in an old bank. The interior is quite impressive with high ceilings with impressive plaster work. There is a wide range of beers, lager and cider, including five hand-pulled cask conditioned real ales when we visited the cask ale was excellent and very cheap. There is the usual Wetherspoons food menu,and I have never been disappointed with the food it is very good and excellent value for money. I particularly enjoy the steak, the burgers, and the Currys. The staff were very friendly and efficient and the service was very quick despite the pub being very busy when we called in.

Had to be in Goole early , so when we had done it was only 8 am so went for breakfast. It was excellent ( and value for money ) plus as much tea/ coffee as you want. After walking round town/ shops we called in for another hot beverage and watched tv while waiting for a phone call.

For what you pay it's worth trying. I'll be blunt, it's the worst Wetherspoons I've been to, only because I've only had exceptionally perfect visits at other locations! Selby, top class. York, lovely. East coast ones close to York quality. Goole has an ok atmosphere, tables are tiny (seating 4), air con perfect, was hi 20s outside. Food took double what most take (and I don't go by Selbys times, I once had a Large Mixed Grill sub 4 minutes! And an American Burger<2 minutes)!! Pizza had been waiting for the other food to finish cooking and was nearly cold, Burger was Dry-Char Cooked and although a nice almost BBQ texture/smell/feel to it was overdone. Chips were tasty and perfect, Onion Rings too. Staff were perfect, not clingy but present and not asking for a running commentary or how good it was like some places do. Toilets and all areas perfectly fresh and clean, decor not tired and cutlery (often underestimated in importance) fit for job.

It's nice place for enjoying your drink 🍻 food as well 🙂

Wonderful Spoons - amazing staff

The city and county is like all other weatherspoons. You know what you're getting with the pub chain. food comes hot and is plentiful, and the drinks are of reasonable prices.

Fantastic place for people u know, everyone goes in there

We visited after it had been decorated,it looks nice. But unfortunately the food is no better. I had steak pudding. I had to send the gravey back,it was so thick I could lift up with my fork. Then the pudding was crunchy and snapped then I cut into it. The 2 pieces of meat inside were gristly. Never again.

We had breakfast here recently and it was really, really lovely. Very pleasant staff, beautiful new re-fit and gorgeous well cooked food! Definitely one of the best Wetherspoons I've ever been in!

Well priced selection of food at a good price. We like 'spoons as the outlet has a good range of vegan and vegetarian food. 3 stars because my bangers, chips and beans weren't very hot, but they were very busy!

I was very disappointed, I asked for a medium-done steak, they brought me raw meat that was lightly fried. There should be onion rings with the steak, but they weren't included. There shouldn't be onions in the salad, but they did. the waitress brought dessert first, although the larger dish should have come first. Everything was good before, not so much now

Nice enough place. You get what you would expect from a Wetherspoons.

I was very disappointed that they had a large foldable advertisement up for Burns night just as you walk in, however nothing was available from it. It should have been taken down if they couldn't provide what was advertised on it. Or at least turned around. Staff were lovely and very friendly.

Visited this pub on a visit to goole !!as usual didn't disappoint !food and drink for 4 of us less than £40 !!

Excellent cask ale and other beers, plus wines and spirits. Standard reliable Wetherspoons food. Fast service, I was there about 4pm. Pub was warm and reasonably comfortable. Near bus stops and Railway Station.

All in all. Worst Wetherspoons that’s ever been. Food took close to an hour, when came out it was burnt and slimy. Meat was tough. Horrible. The atmosphere was just teenagers everywhere running a-mock while the servers stood there laughing and let them bully the disabled one of which was my family member on their birthday. They didn’t have half the drinks on tap. Had to change choices three times before settling for something that was sour and tasted flat. Chips was wet, not even soggy, just wet. Never going here again. I’d really stay clear of this place.

Nice whetherspoons in middle of goole. Food and drinks has always been spot on here. Just shame weatherspoons don't allow dogs in though 😕.

My first time visiting a Whetherspoon pub and I was pleased with the experience. Found a table, ordered using the app (turns out it had more options than ordering from the "paper menu"), food arrived in a timely way, free refills for hot drinks all added up to a value for money visit.
