Visited with my family yesterday and the lady who served us (Maria?) was so down to earth and friendly. She went out of her way to make us feel welcome and was great with the kids. Food was excellent too!

The waitresses and food are lovely(unless landlord cooks then it is a shambles) The landlord on the other hand..... The landlord is called Tim. He likes the fosters abit too much and often works drunk. He shouldn't be allowed to run a pub as landlords should be kind and friendly. He is rude to clients and a general nasty piece of work. How he got the job who knows. He also sleeps with customers wives.......don't go there!!! (Sorry Phil but he's filling your wife) Avoid like the plague plenty better pubs about!!!

Relaxed couple of pints after watching the Wimbledon Final, prior to the EC Football Final. Decent outside area which gets the late afternoon Sun. Chilled out, tidy and quaint inside.

Genuinely one of the nicest curries I have tried, homemade curry comes with a lovely popadom and naan. Staff are very friendly and polite. Worked 2 minutes from this place for 5 years and never been in, will certainly be in more often after this experience!

The sun is shining and having not long moved into near by area, I stopped to have a bottle of wine in the sun. At first 4 people behind the bar looked manic and disorganised for a very empty pub. I waited whilst a bald gentleman who was in the middle of a conversation with 2 patrons to at the least acknowledge me, he never did.Even though he saw me walk in. 2 younger female bar members ignored also. I guess taking a leaf from the male. After one of the female bar staff was flustered about the Pepsi foaming up as another member of staff advised they had just changed it. The older of the 3 females who had done this change, was bubbly, smiling and acknowledged I was waiting to be served at an empty bar. I’m not looking for handstands when I walk into a a bar but a simply hello would be suffice. This certainly won’t be my new local and judging by the lack of customers I can see why.

Great experience! Lovely food, nice music, cozy and warm and the staff is the best part of it all! I received a warm welcome, great service with genuine kindness. So lucky places like this still exist! What a gem🤩I recommend the garlic bread.

A pleasure visiting the City Arms. We could not fault anything here as the staff are very welcoming and friendly. The menus are good pub food ncluding snacks and main courses eg sausages, scampi, curry. Restaurant prices are reasonable and portion size good. Drinks prices are normal for a pub n this area but not extortionate. We will be going back.

This is the best Bar in Surbtion! Perfect food, comfortable environment. The locals are very friendly. Spacious garden. It's in beautiful surroundings close to the River Thames. The waiters and chefs are very friendly! This is my favorite bar. I would love to come here every week with the ones I love!

Lovely place, nice and simple traditional English classics. We had a very nice e experience with the Sunday roast. Tip: must order the chips topped with cheese and ground beef... thank me later.

We took my husband's Mum & our son for a Sunday roast and we're not disappointed. We had reserved a table & were welcomed by genuine friendly staff. Drinks great. Delicious fresh food. Excellent quality. Perfect portions. Excellent choice. Amazing desserts. Great value for money. We will definitely visit again. The only negative was a family of five that arrived before our desserts arrived with children playing Thier devices too high & adults in turn talking loudly over the children. We asked could we move which was dealt with smoothly. Thank you City Arms

Had some superb food for Sunday lunch at the City Arms in Long Ditton, Surbiton, Surrey. We had four roast dinners and four deserts. The roasts come in standard size and an option of a smaller adult portion, which is very sensible. Traditional, well cooked, and pretty generous all for a very reasonable price. Definitely worth a visit. Attentive service and polite staff, highly recommended.

Popped in for a pint and something to eat. I couldn't fault the real ale and decided on the cod and chips which was freshly cooked and tasted great. Staff were welcoming, polite and friendly.

Visited the city arms with my family for a Sunday roast. We were greeted by a friendly Hungarian lady who showed us to our table that we had reserved. A young girl then came over to take our drinks order, she was extremely rude, no please or thank you! We ordered a chicken, beef and pork roast dinners, and proceeded to wait an hour for the food to arrive. I wouldn’t of minded if it was busy but it was extremely quiet! Whilst we were waiting all we could hear was the chef in the kitchen constantly swearing, which was not very nice when your sitting as a family. When our meals eventually arrived, we were all very disappointed. The chicken was very dry and chewy as was the beef and pork; the roast potatoes were also hard and appeared to be reheated and the vegetables were to hard. Overall this was the worst roast we have ever had! And to top it off, when we were trying to pay the bill the young girl working kept dismissing us. She said she was to busy to take the money, we left the money and walked out, we won’t be back again!

We spent two wonderful evenings at City Arms while staying in the area. The young waiter was very nice and friendly and he even made a special playlist for us :) We hope to be back some day, thank you!!!

I had to witness appalling behaviour of this pups guest. Some 4 to 5 male where screaming and shouting abusive language towards a young lady passing by. If you tolerate this harassment at your business you shouldn't have a business.

This was my first visit to the City Arms. Having been up to London, I was heading for a client appointment, but had arrived a bit early. I looked the City Arms up on Google, and seeing I was less than a mile away, decided to stop for a drink and a snack. Staff were friendly and helpful and I was delighted to have been able to order a panini, chips and a drink, even at 7pm. Onsite parking was perfect, and I will be back again for sure, when next in the area. Definitely a pub I’d recommend anytime.

Pleasant couple of hours for drinks in this very relaxed venue. Service was friendly and affable, and there has always been a pleasant atmosphere inside. A good, traditional PH.

We walked into the City Arms on a wet and gloomy day looking for some good food and atmosphere. What we got was an average Sunday Roast, it was good but average. We initially had a server who didn't seem very interested in us, however we then had a change in server and our second server was Fantastic. She was enthusiastic and made the rest of the afternoon much better. The building definitely gives you the whole old English Pub feel which was also great to see.

We’ve drive past The City Arms in Thames Ditton on the Portsmouth Road countless times so decided to give it a try It’s part of Mclean Inns which is small family run group of hotels pubs and restaurants located in the South West London which has many years experience in the licensed trade/catering industry. The City Arms is situated next door to Thames Ditton Marina by The River Thames. Whilst they don’t have a large Car Park if you go at less busy times you’re sure to get parked. There’s a partially covered outside seating area which overlooks the water. Inside it’s a very traditional Pub which makes a welcome change. We had a nice Bar snack and a drink and sat outside. It looks like they have a lot going on and the Pub Menu had lots of variety. The young lad who served us was very helpful.

Sunday lunch was surprisingly very good, considering the fact that it was so inexpensive, really didn’t expect much at all but it was “ definitely be back there again” good ! All excellent size portions, Fishcake starter was nice and tasty, be a tad better with Panko breadcrumbs but hey this is no gastro pub, it’s your little understated local that’s not trying to pretend to be a contender to the Fat Duck or anywhere else for that matter, it’s just a wee gem of a place, a proper local, with cosy interior, good seating outside, good service and very welcoming staff. They have some nice wines at very fair prices, and dish up a tasty tender roast beef, that’s not pretending to be sirloin, like some pubs do. All served with a good Yorkshire pudding, ( not a massive one that looks brilliant but taste like styrofoam ) a generous side plate of vegetables and a gravy boat brimming with extra gravy, The steamed pudding was delicious as was my crème brûlée that’s was as good as the Fat Duck ! Well done everyone at the City

The young lady who served us was really lovely she was so helpful as we didn’t know the area. She helped us to book ticket for a boat trip over to the palace and printed the tickets. Very friendly service really chatty barmaid

This pub/restaurant was local to where we were staying and as it was pouring with rain decided to give it a try. Staff were very accommodating and friendly and checked that everything was ok (which it was), food was excellent. Enjoyed the atmosphere and if staying nearly would return.

Quick stop off around 8pm.Having lived in the North Surrey, immediate area, for 47 years, it was strange that I had never been in this pub before, in my entire life!Nonetheless, I’m glad I did.Excellent seating area overlooking the river and Thames Ditton marina…..…..they’ve done a nice job with the decking area additionally.Inside was a pleasant surprise to me. Smart, but traditional pub scene, to the left as you enter. Tidy and tasteful drinking and eating areas to the RHS.Drinks were well priced, staff affable, and the pub had a pleasant relaxed atmosphere.Food menu looked traditional but very appetising and apparently they sell many many roasts on a Sunday.

Didn't stay long as I was dropping my Son and wife to Watch Football final. Parking is good, plenty of outside tables. Staff seemed very pleasant.

Chose the pub as it had good reviews and was just across the road from The Crowne Plaza where we were staying. Attentive service from friendly staff and a good choice of pub meals with good portions reasonably priced. Would visit again and recommend.

We have visited this pub for food a few times when visiting our family and always liked it here, unfortunately not today. I'm only giving 4 star's because food was ok, apart from the waitress that served us none of the other staff was wearing face mask that they are meant to be. This is unfortunately not covid secure place and even members of the public were also not wearing mask. We unfortunately won't be coming back, such a shame need to sort staff out.

Staff is really friendly and funny, it has a marina view if you strategically position yourself. Overall nice ace to go for a pint with friends.

A down to earth pub which isn't as crowded as the trendier places meaning you get a seat. No garden, but outdoor seats are next to nice plant tubs.
