Mily was amazing the best waitress of all time, deserves a pay rise could not have been any better, really good service, great communication and very up beat and cheerful.

Great pub with comfortable rooms, good food, a soft play area and amazingly kind staff. Mily looked after us with so much patience and good humour both at breakfast and at lunch, when 15 of us were celebrating our grandson's 2nd birthday. Three generations happy and well fed! Thank you!

Big family meal for my son’s birthday, we all arrived in dribs and drabs and Mily was amazing with us. Food good and affordable!

I was in the Churchill pub on Sunday 27th ,I've not had great experiences on previous visits and haven't been there for sometime, what a change ,the staff were great very efficient very attentive, I very rarely write reviews but felt this warranted my time ,WELL DONE ALL ,and thank you 😊

Food was not the best only one servicing the tables so a bit slow not her fault sat night and very few customers infact only 6 people by 9.30pm

From start to finish our experience was not good, had to wait to be served at the bar and then given dirty glasses which were pint glasses given for small bottles of J20 🤷🏻‍♂️ Then went to the men’s toilets only to be greeted by a really strong smell of urine only to notice a bucket under the urinal catching what was leaking ( surely this should of been closed to the public !!) Then being shown to our table we were told that someone was still on it and also this was in the children’s area so I said I am not sitting there so was then told there was nowhere else, but there was when I suggested moving some tables around in a different section to which I set about doing with the waitress… So after all this we sat, ordered and started to eat only to find my wife had the chicken skewers which were raw inside, we sent them back and were offered a replacement but obviously by this time she was put off eating, we had the price of this taken off the bill which was minimal in comparison to the night being ruined. I am looking to pursue further compensation and also strongly suggest a visit from food and safety standard as this is not exceptable!!!

Good pub food at a decent price, its a Greene King chain outlet.

Breakfast standard and ok. However, the atmosphere seemed subdued, and listening to staff talk about their private lives not great

Took our son to soft play and ended up eating. Staff were great, especially Henri and food was amazing.

Had a mediocre fish and chips . A chicken curry with rice and chips. That consists of a chicken burger chopped up with curry sauce pored over. It was an OK meal, but you could have done better at home .

So cold! Had to keep coats on and yet still cold.

Today myself and my family had the pleasure of eating at the churchill. Yes they had some issues with being short staffed,but the staff on duty gave us everything they had.yes we waited for food but when it arrived it came with a sorry for the wait and a smile. Food was fantastic. Well done to all staff that where on duty today,29.09.24 .you should be very proud of your self's. We had a party of around 10 sat down at 3pm and come out out 7. 4 hours of great atmosphere.

Soft drinks are a rip off. Small drinks are the same size as large and if you mention it they just put more ice in the glass. Staff don’t seem to care and think you should be grateful they are serving you.

We visited the Wavky Warehouse at the back of Churchill's Pub and Grill and was looked after by Henry, who not only looked after our food needs, but also entertained the children with Hide and Seek and other games. The food was great, quickly served, and reasonably priced. The overall experience was fantastic and a huge thanks to Henry, who made such a difference and worked so hard...the kids loved their time with you!

Came to the play area with my great niece. Staff member Henry was a great host, she played lots of games with the children that were there.

We come to the Soft play every week and absolutely love it! We have lunch each week too and like trying new things on the menu.

Took my grandson to the wacky warehouse today. Henri was amazing with the children there, playing with them all. Fantastic atmosphere 👍

Disappointed. Visited yesterday after a very long drive to meet family not seen for time. We were seated in the child's section where there was a lot of noise. There was a child's birthday party in another room which I think was the reason for the very slow service. My family said they enjoyed the food, not sure if they were just being polite.. I didn't complain, but my mixed grill was awful. Steak was like a piece of leather as was the other meats except the sausage. I stopped on the way home to get some food from the garage. Lastly as we were leaving i noticed a nice quiet section that looked far better than where we were seated and it was empty. I wonder if we were put there because I said there was 1 child in the group. My daughter is 14 so perhaps I should have put her down as an adult.

Excellent service from Henry in the soft play area, she is very polite, friendly and helpful, went above and beyond.

Henry made such a magical experience to our evening. They entertained the kids and made sure to attend to our tables and extra requests. I was abit disappointed in a male bar staff (at the main bar) that seemed to be frustrated with all the hard work Henry put into making wacky warehouse so much fun (when looking at the camera football at the bar.) We will 1000% come back with the kids even though it’s a 40 minute drive. Well worth it! ❤️

OMG! The experience we had this morning at the SEN session in Wacky was fantastic! The lady that was working there, her name was Henri. She was amazing with my daughter who is autistic. They were playing hide and seek in the play area for the last 10-15 minutes we were there and pretending to be zombies. Not heard my daughter laugh so much! 🥰 Thank you!

Welcomed into the play area by Henry - lovely young person who made the effort to chat with our little ones and make sure that we had everything we needed when our meals arrived. Nothing too much trouble- thank you!

My wife and I had lunch 1230 on the 18th. My steak was tough and supposed to be medium, it was med-rare one end mostly rare other end and only warm. Skin on chips were ordered but small fatty warm chips served .My wife had fish and chips which was ok. The other problem for me was to sit opposite a woman with a dog on her lap and its nose near her plate whilst she ate. It had also been sitting on the seat next to her before being helped on to her lap. We will not go there again What about hygiene

After calling into the Churchill for a drink a few months back, we were very impressed with the food menu and friendly atmosphere, and despite food prices being a little over budget I decided to save up and treat my step mum for birthday dinner booked last night. Food come quick enough, but started bad, one of my children had a child’s steak and chips, this came out like a lump of rubber, and I struggled to cut it for him, he is autistic and has sensory issues and was very disappointed, he chocked on a piece of meat and had to drink to wash it down. I ordered a rare rump steak which again i could barely cut let alone chew, I sent the plate back barely touched and had lost my appetite completely. This set the tone for everyone else’s meals ( apart from the other kids who had a burger and kids Mac and cheese which they both enjoyed ) step mum barely ate any of hers and husband enjoyed his mixed grill until he also got to the steak which he couldn’t eat. Now, I’m not actually one to moan I get embarrassed and would rather just pretend I enjoyed it but I couldn’t, we were all so disappointed Nd a night we had. Even looking forward to for months felt ruined 😥 I will say though that staff and manager were extremely sorry, and went above and beyond to rectify the situation, the manager was disappointed by the standard of the food and I did truly believe that she was as disappointed as us. She knocked a considerable amount off of the bill and we would probably chance coming back again, just not for steak 🙈 I left 5 stars for service because front of house staff really were lovely as was the manager, atmosphere started off nice but unfortunately dampened by the food and I am awarding one star for food because 2 out of the 6 meals were cooked to perfection and 2 kids were happy we are just very disappointed with ours. I will say though don’t let our experience put you off, not sure what was going on i think we were jinxed, everyone else in the restaurant seemed pleased with there meals and some of the food coming out looked lovely especially the burgers, the staff were really lovely and still managed to smile at the “moany” table. I almost feel bad leaving the negative review on food because the manager made sure we were reimburst, I just think the chef needs to step it up and not drag this lovely lady down

Ordered 2 mains and 2 drinks for £20 amazing meals with big portions. Served by all front of house start making a friendly atmosphere and amazing service. Food came out wishing 5 min to an amazing standard and were even check on by Grace from wacky wearhouse. Overall great experience

My partner and I took 2 kids to the Wacky Warehouse. Staff member (one) was pleasant enough, but the customer service was shocking once we ordered food. Only us and one other family to be served. Despite us ordering first, theirs came out 15 minutes before ours. Weird. My partner and I both ordered large cokes with no ice. Staff switched it to diet coke without asking because they didn't have any regular, we only knew because they took it to the wrong table, spilt it and were trying to work out whose it actually was. Eventually they went to get us 2 medium cokes (from a bottle, with ice), apologising for the inconvenience but not refunding the price difference or offering extra to top them up. My double-patty burger was overcooked, and did not arrive with the advertised onion rings or coleslaw. Similarly, my partner's burger was also overcooked, the brioche bun was burnt and had no onion rings - but did have the coleslaw. Random. We also ordered tex-mex corn on the cob and a side of chips, When it didn't turn up, we were informed that the corn isn't offered anymore and should have been removed from the website. The chips were provided, apologies were offered and a batch of corn was provided anyway. Not sure if what arrived is what's normally offered or it was rushed out, but I think I'd rather not have had it. The kid's food was fine and arrived complete. The total food bill was over £70. We ate the very expensive, partially-delivered food we received with children's forks because there were no adult ones available. There were no napkins anywhere. 'Accessible' toilet in Wacky Warehouse is not accessible to a wheelchair, does not have any handles, and is unusably low. The one out in the pub was accessible but small, with a floor that was slippery and visibly wet, and we went in as a staff member went out so they were clearly aware and generally disgusting from a hygiene point of view. Overall, we don't recommend and won't be going back.

Staff are stressed to point of tears as new manager more interested in profit than staff or customer satisfaction. Food was mediocre probably due to to 1 chef and 3 other staff waiting tables and covering bar. Lots of uncleared tables. 1 guy left his phone number and told the manager to call him if he had the time to settle his bill as he was fed up with waiting. Despite being a large venue any customers after 6pm were all stuffed into one smaller section. Haven't been here for a while, won't be going back again.

Called in here with my great niece and her mum, and we had a very good meal. Our waiter was fantastic 👏. So obliging and helpful. The food was tasty and hot. Kids' choices were good and generous portions. Great place for kids, especially with the indoor play area.

Had a meal here and it was fantastic food was fresh and hot. Great larger selection. Some new management in place and you can see the difference.

As regulars here the staff are always very friendly, carol was our waitress this time, and lovely as always! Food was ok although the chips could of done with 2 mins longer to be crispier but that’s personal preference:)

I had a brilliant time at the Churchill in wootten bassett. I was in town and decided to go to this lovey spot. The service was great and all the staff seemed extremely friendly. I was served by Reuben who brought me out a fantastic set of fajitas, which I would definitely recommend. I will be revisiting when I’m back in wootten bassett!

Poorly organised breakfast three days in a row, where Sunday was worse than Saturday, and Monday as bad as Sunday. Continental buffet was permanently depleted and we had to specifically ask for everything we wanted. The wait staff were really friendly and tried to keep the customers happy

My wife and her best mate had a meal there today they got their at 1150 and ordered there drinks they were still waiting for the drinks to come at 12 45 plus they went back up to the bar 3 times to remind them about drinks there food was served before there drinks which was at 120 pm they had to ask again for drinks food was ok but lots on the menu they did not have any left 🤔 it’s was early time strange are they looking to closes down only looking at reviews the same happened 3 weeks ago sadly it’s a shame because it’s a nice place ps they did not even offer a reduction for the time they had to wait

Our Server Shamim was excellent and so very attentive. We enjoyed the experience. We also enjoyed Brunch yesterday. Great Staff and Atmosphere.

Has to be the worst place I have ever eaten! The chicken was tough and dry, the pastry on my friends’ vegetarian pies were rock hard, peas were cold and hard, my other friend’s salmon was overcooked, the list goes on! A five year old could’ve done a better job in the kitchen! Oh and we had to wait an hour for the meal to arrive when it wasn’t even busy! Overall the general standard of the place is awful. Stay away!

Huge waiting time (nearly an hour) owing to some syncing issue between ipad and the till. We had to wait for over an hour for strictly average food

PLEASE read this post if you want an opportunity to a) avoid eating awful food, b) find a place that actually cares about serving the customer, c) avoid waiting an unacceptable amount of time for your food. This is without a doubt the worst place we have ever eaten. The service was awful. We waited over 45 mins to even be served the drinks we ordered. I had to ask 4 time before anyone payed attention. The food was overcooked and not one person could care less. I simple told them to remove one of the dishes because it was inedible and remove our drinks since we only had time for one given how late they were served. The staff couldn’t give a damn about how we were feeling. Trust me. Stay away from this restaurant. Also check out TripAdvisor for thousands of reviews like mine.

£2.80 for a glass of soda water and lime, what an absolute scam. The same drink is 80 pence at other green king pubs.

Ant was our host for our lovely lunch, and was very kind and welcoming. The food was served in great time, and tasted great. I had the apple crumble with custard for pudding and it was delicious! The food is reasonably priced too, so I would highly recommend The Churchill. Thank you to the team for a fantastic lunch, we will be back soon.

Had my daughters 6th birthday on the 23rd June at the whacky warehouse. From start to finish nothing was too much trouble Lisa was amazing and went above and beyond Thankyou

Food was good but staff more interested in there wages and taking about football. And not looking after the customers would have stayed for desert but plates was not cleared. But the waiter took two orders from people and not once come to take are plates away.

Popped in for breakfast this morning. It wasn't at all busy and there was only 4 of us. We ordered 3 full English and an avocado and poached egg on toast. There was no bacon so we were offered an extra sausage on the full English. The service was incredibly slow but eventually our hot drinks arrived albeit missing teaspoons. There were no knives and forks availble to pick up so they took a while to be delivered. My avocado ended up being a dollop of spicy guacamole, not at all what I was expecting and certainly didn't want spicy. It was pretty horrid and I resorted in sending it back. The extra sausages were forgotten so, when reminded, 3 undercooked, anaemic looking things were delivered. Pretty inedible. The hash browns were overdone and the beans were cold so goodness knows who they had in the kitchen! The fruit juices we ordered at the beginning had to be chased multiple times and arrived when we'd almost finished. When talking to the barman at the end, we were told they were understaffed but, as it was hardly busy, it didn't really wash. It was so disappointing as I wanted to treat my family to a lovely breakfast and this was certainly not it. The food was pretty horrible and the service shambolic. It's really put me off from coming here again.

Pre-booked payed deposit, on arrival told 1hour wait for food, sat down other dinners said they had been waiting 90mins and still no food, waitress said someone hadn't turned up for work and basically they were screwed. All staff came across pissed off and didn't care.

So shocking I don't know where to start! We came out for a meal for a birthday only 4 adults 2 kids so not overwhelming. Food was the worst iv EVER had anywhere! They forgot half the ingredients for everyone's meals, it was all cold , questioned manager who said 'yes I saw that it was wrong' why did you send it out then... Service was so bad , constantly having to go find staff even though there were only a few people in the restaurant (not surprising) Took the kids to the soft play, it was filthy and last clean in the soft play toilets were Monday PM ... We are on Wednesday PM now it was disgusting, stank, no sanitiser available either. When complaining I asked 'can I speak to a manager, first response 'no manager here sorry' my response ' so there is not a single manager in the building?' response back 'they are in the cellar' so they are here then... ' yes ' Such bad service and no genuine apologies. I never write reviews, however I don't want others to have there nights ruined. Would not recommend to anyone.

Staff were really lovely and friendly and took good care of our table. Food was also really lovely but the roast potatoes were not quite cooked enough for my liking, the rest was delicious. We will be back!!

Lunch time catch up with a girlfriend. We had the chicken sharing platter - very tasty. Another catch up with friends. Lovely meal.

Dreadful, slow service and food was definitely not worth the wait. It wasn't full so no reason for such slow and inattentive service. We won't be returning.

The staff they had are excellent but there is not enough of them so service suffered. The food was below par cold chips and meat that had clearly been left in a heat rack as it was solid. Music is too loud. I will not return . Not the standard I expect from Green King . If you don't have the staff don't open it's simple!

I have tried to bring my kids on 2 occasions during the week and whenever we visit there is a sign on the door saying that the wacky warehouse is closed. This is upset my children greatly and we’ve had to go somewhere else to eat. The website needs updating to say it’s not open.

Food good but slow. Didn't seem very full but quite a wait for food and seemed to be minimal staff.

We stayed for one night in the hotel next door which was fine. Breakfast the next morning was awful, we waited an hour for it, no explanation why we had to wait so long, when it finally came out it was cold, it wasn't overly busy at the time and it doesn't take long to do a cooked breakfast, won't be going back

Food very good service was a bit slow it was my 70th birthday lunch and there was ten of us

The young girl serving had no help and was trying to manage soft play and food orders very busy.The toilets in soft play are smelly and dirty.

Arrived just after 6pm and asked for a table for 4 adults and a child. Despite there being hardly any tables occupied apparently they couldn't fit us in at all. We got a very terse response with no explanation as to why were unable to be offered a table whilst the whole place was obviously not busy at all. We left very unhappy and went to the Beefeater instead. Thanks for the warm welcome NOT

The food service was a little slow. Parts of the mixed grill was a little tough. Other than that it was a standard chain restaurant.

I don’t do reviews normally, However this time i feel i have to. Disappointed and this is the second time in a row and thought the first was just a bad day in the kitchen. Visited last night and ordered a nacho sharer (starter) and it was tiny. Then ordered a mixed grill and that came out soon as we finished the starter and was no hot and very small with items missing so i had to order a side to bulk it up and the steak was raw and had to leave on the plate. But staff was not bothered when i mentioned about the steak. Sorry to leave this review and now i can see why a lot of tables were empty. And the guy at the bar took my money for the bill and just walked off.

As some one who is coeliac food is important, they have a non containing gluten menu and I ordered the chargrilled chicken burger with no bun and no tomatoes and while the rest of the party got their food after 1hrs wait, mine was being redone, eventually as the other members of the party finished thier food (1and half hours later) I asked for my dinner to be boxed up to take home! At home found over done cold chips and dry chicken!! The Chuchill did deduct my meal for taking so long. But seriously how do you mess up cooking chicken and chips!!! Will not be going back.

The overall experience was hugely disappointing, to say the least. Our party of seven was thoroughly underwhelmed by both the quality of the food and the level of service. It's evident that there are significant issues with both the kitchen staff and management and I would caution others against dining there until these issues are addressed. To start, the menu descriptions did not align with what was served. For instance, I ordered the crispy chili chicken burger, expecting a dish with a variety of toppings as described. However, what arrived was a far cry from what was advertised - a poorly cooked chicken patty missing of the promised lettuce, tomato, cheese, and sauce. Just chicken and bare bun. I could not believe my eyes. Additionally, the accompanying slaw was missing entirely, leaving only a sparse serving of chips on the plate. When I brought this discrepancy to the attention of the manager, their response was just offering only a half-hearted apology, no explanation etc. Unfortunately, this lack of accountability extended to the other dishes as well, leaving our group deeply unsatisfied with the overall experience.

Gone terribly down hill. kitchens shut half the time before advertised hours, unable to contact to see if make a booking or attend for meal..turn up to be turned away due to lack of staff.

Family meal out for birthday and left disappointed and coming away hungry from the lack of food served up. A lot of the food on the menu was unavailable and what was left was just basic out of the freezer food. Bill was also wrong.

Delicious food at fair prices, very friendly staff and a cozy atmosphere. However, you have to be lucky to get anything to eat at all. On the first day there was only food until 3 p.m., on the third day there was no food all day.

Great place for the children to play while you have a drink.

I met the boys for a breakfast and the food was good enough but my version of crispy bacon is that it is crispy and breaks when you put a fork into it, not that you pick it up and it droops and the fat is still white. Others than that it was good enough to meet and chat.

Food was mediocre. Meet was fatty and vegetables hard . Service not great, server bending over plates of food on table whilst handing out sauces. Cleared plates on table whilst others still eating on same table which made me feel uncomfortable. Something wrong if they can only run a limited menu and can not cook that right.

Not so friendly staff, definitely not!!! And not family friendly!

I visited Churchill - Pub and Grill without any prior experiences with Greene King (picked just with my intuition) but I am really happy that I did chose Chruchill Hotel mainly because of two things. Firstly, the location and the rooms were top notch, each and every entity was absolutely clean, and the rooms were themselves welcoming, secondly and the most helpful thing for me was the Receptionist/ (the shift manager, Idk exactly) KIRSTY, was really really helpful and welcoming, made me and my friends welcomed right from the very beginning. I would surely suggest visiting this place.

Turned up and couldn't get food for 2 people, the woman was so rude, there were less then 5 tables seated and it was empty. We tried to make a booking and she turned us away because apparently they were fully booked, even though you could book on the website?

We went for Sunday lunch, no roast potatoes! Served with mash. Really! Someone needs to get a grip. Won't be going for Sunday lunch again. Plenty more pubs serving a decent meal

Cancelled less than 24 hours in advance. Had planned on travelling 3 hours to see family. Not acceptable

what a lovely place. Was the day before mothers day and they had a few problems with the kitchen but had a few beers so was happy. The staff there are amazing and see AGA what a women ran round like a looney to make sure we was happy. had breakfast in the morning and once again staff was there for a chat and make it feel like home. Only there for one night but felt like i wanted to give Aga a hug goodbye. will defiantly be back for a weekend away from city life. Thanks Aga and staff xx

good for young families, staff are okay. we made a booking but when we arrived they said we didnt and they were very dismissive and quite patronising and rude until they realised they spelt our name wrong and said when you book again ask for me which isnt a good testament to staff. We felt very rushed even though the restaurant was approximately 30% full if that. The foods not as good as last time we went
