Thank you to all the staff at Churchill-pub and Grill. The food was nice, the room was lovely and comfortable. You have made our weekend a good one and very enjoyable. Thank you again.

Lunch time catch up with a girlfriend. We had the chicken sharing platter - very tasty. Another catch-up with friends. Lovely meal. 25/01/25 Birthday party for granddaughter. Soft play and meal for the little ones. The food was good. The young assistant was friendly and kind. They had a wonderful time.

A great family pub on the outskirts of Royal Wootton Bassett. The pub is large and even comprises a soft play to keep the children entertained whilst the parents relax with a drink. The food is of good quality and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The pub also has an over 18 area for adults who want to drink and relax. They have a good range of beers and wines Peroni being my personal favourite. There is also a hotel to the side of the pub if you need a place to stay. With Bassett not been the easiest place to park the large car park makes life easy for the family.

Very poor service, extremely slow and unorganised. Food very poor standard and came out either over cooked or others cold.

Food and service very good. A bit dark in some areas. Otherwise very good.

Gutted to be giving this rating, it's so nice to have a place with a soft play to meet friends and have dinner. I truly wish I had better things to say. We went for breakfast on Sunday morning, we had been before and I had remembered enjoying the food but this time the quality seemed much worse. My daughter's meal was a single small pancake with overdone bacon chopped on top. My eggs Benedict, drowning in the sauce which made everything soggy. The smell from the toilets in the soft play area was unbelievably strong, I'd noticed this when we'd visited before but thought maybe it was just an 'off day'. To go back a year later and still be hit with the smell of urine the second we walked in is so disappointing. On the positive side the two women serving us were both delightful and really happy to help and interact with the kids.

Was really excited to visit here.. grandsons birthday in soft play area meant I could book a table for Sunday dinner after.... had heard very good things about the menu and food so couldn't wait.. Upon arrival for food we were told some things off the menu as sold out, not a problem.. also told there was a wait on the food due to an oven breaking.. again I didn't mind (these things happen).. however, it took ages for our server to come take just our drink orders, we ordered food at the same time as we had enough time to prepare and I was super happy to order the roast beef...10 mins after placing the order our server informed me they'd run out...I opted for the turkey as I don't like pork... food was relatively quick from then, and really did look the part... And they say looks can be deceiving 😬.. The huge Yorkshire pudding, was stone cold and rubbery.. the carrots and broccoli (also cold) were under cooked.. (not el dante) almost raw... and for some reason the turkey had a slimy sensation...(I am without doubt, fussy.. hands up) but this was complete disappointment. Upon rushing out to pay the bill, the bar man was very busy and we were stood for almost 10 mins waiting to pay, we could see directly into the kitchen where 4 other dinners sat.. before we got there, and they hadn't been taken to the customer's as we left, there was also a huge tray of Yorkshire puddings sat above them for the whole period... I'm sorry..I had such high expectations due to word of mouth and previous reviews but this was a waste of my time and money... I would have complained but staff were few and far between and no one bothered to come and check if the meals were ok... not their fault, they were definitely understaffed and running around like blue a flies... This is not a place I would revisit for food.. The kids play area was great, and as mentioned staff were lovely.. when you could find them👎👎

Our waitress Sarah was fabulous and friendly. Made sure we were happy with our food and went above and beyond to make sure our needs were met.

Went for a pleasant meal but was ruined by the manager, he was questioning some poor bloke about his cannabis use. The poor guy looked so embarrassed but he still explained that it was legal use and showed something on his phone The manager refused to listen to him and the poor guy was very flustered. Clearly more training is needed in this area as he was singled out and he was correct in what he was saying. The manager refused to apologize for his behaviour and that he had done anything wrong.I won't be returning here ever again.

Simply the best pub to go with kids because of the Wacky Warehouse, the staff are extremely friendly and the food is just great!

We stopped there mid way along the M4 to London. Friendly staff, food was good. Our baby loved the soft play area. The baby change/accessible toilet really needs a clean though.

I've visited here a few times with my children and friends to their wacky warehouse softplay. We're able to reserve tables online in the softplay, and have food and drinks at our tables whilst the kids play. Grace was really attentive and helpful. On previous visits the soft play attendant has even played games with the children which was definitely above and beyond. Unfortunately I didn't know her name, but it was very much appreciated.

I was staying at your hotel. Pub is very nice for an evening pint before bedtime.

Didn't have food, passing on route to Swindon and called for one drink. Not happy to find my 10% off drinks did not work at this Greene King pub!! Looks a nice place, clean and tidy and was fairly busy at 1.45pm.

Had Xmas day menu. Just need to be blunt, food was awful. The turkey dinner was a shocker!!! Luke warm, frozen veg, couldn't tell if it was a roasted potato due to texture and blonde colour!!! It was like a school dinner but then again my school dinners were better than this. The dessert xmas pudding was a long thin rectangle , looked like a slice of meatloaf?? Very bizarre. So for the cost very disappointed. The staff however were lovely and very attentive no issues there at all just the standard of food just not good enough. I would go back for a drink as atmosphere lovely.

Absolutely amazing Christmas lunch. Milly was amazing, always there if we needed anything. Made it fun for the children. Atmosphere and food were perfect. Can't wait to book for next year. Thank you for an amazing Christmas lunch.

I came in for a meal with my boyfriend yesterday evening. We ordered the Hunters Chicken and Fajitas which came so hot and tasty! Millie was our server and she was so happy to be there, nothing was too much, she recommended the Fajitas and we are so glad we listened! Will definitely be back, thank you Millie for your enthusiastic service

Came in here for a meal with my family last week and had such fantastic service from Millie and Jodie, both so friendly and happy to help with any requests including our Nut Allergy. The food came out piping hot and full of flavour. Lots of empty plates and happy faces. Great job everyone!

A huge thank you to Henry who was our son’s birthday party host today. She was very welcoming, friendly and so helpful. The party package was fantastic and great value for money. Food took ages. We cancelled desserts after over an hour and quater of waiting. Said ours was coming but people who ordered after got theirs Drinks order wasn't right. One order with allergy had the onion rings touching other food when requested to go in separate bowl so someone else could have. 1st waitress was lovely but rest of the staff not. Manager was very rude when we complained about the desserts! Thet said it was because of Christmas parties, so obviously general pub goes are not welcome at those times!!

We had a lovely time in the soft play area hosted by the wonderful Henry. The food, drinks, service and of course soft play was all spot on. We'll be back!

Went for a group dinner service was awful long wait for my main course only got it after 2 complaints and most of my group had finished their dinner then a long wait at the end to pay the bill

Lovely helpful staff and value for money food/menu. This was our second visit and is a great local place for our family to meet up. It was quite cool in the restaurant, especially for our elderly parents but for the rest of us too, so our only hope would be a warmer environment next time.

We will definately be returning! We haven't been here in years because the place really went down hill, but its had a complete turn over of new staff since March a brand new chef and team in the kichen and its made an incredible difference! We went as a party of 8 for the Festive Dinner menu and we couldnt fault it! The se rvice by Jodie and Sarah was very attentive and the food was incredibly tasty, well cooked and plentiful, could barely manage the delicious dessert! Also great value for money. Would highly recommend!

Had a really lovely lunchtime break with the wife, we shared Camembert cheese with a side of chips and a pint. Perfect.

Food was delicious and the presentation was excellent, especially considering it’s a mid budget pub. Service was top notch! On a previous visit both our kids loved the play area and was worth every penny. Will be going back for sure.

8oz steak was ordered more like a 4oz and so burnt. The fish over cooked. Last time I came here was 20 years ago and maybe see me again in about 20 years never again that’s all I can say

The hotel was kind of like a Premier Inn, but much cosier and more well appointed. The breakfast was delicious and had a couple of decent vegan options. We also had an evening meal in the pub, and my gosh, was the food good! Decent value too. The wait staff were also friendly and accommodating for vegan options.

Had food and drink here and was looked after by Millie. She’s great. Very welcoming and friendly. Definitely a people person. Great job Millie!

Went here for food as was staying in the hotel, Millie looked after us. She is literally such a sweet little thing. So kind, very helpful and happy to be at work. Couldn’t do enough for us. Deffo a credit to the company! Thank you for making my experience a memorable one!

Mediocre food. Not as good as it used to be.

I came with my 2 boys for a bite to eat after school and for them to let off some steam in the soft play which is a great addition to the pub. Henry was very welcoming and provided excellent service, going above and beyond, and also managing to keep the kids entertained in the soft play with some fun games which they loved. Thank you Henry, we will be back because of you!

Good place to eat if you have children, bit hectic. But kids love it. Food was slightly above average, not overly hot, good selection tho. Reasonably priced

New to us, and decided to call in for lunch. Was not disappointed, the food was presented beautifully and the desserts were to die for. Will be booking another trip very shortly. Thank you to the staff who attended to us.

I came here for lunch today and have nothing but positives. My beef roast was perfect, and my family had burgers which were amazing (HUGE). The Ultimate Cookie Sharer was the best pudding I have had in a long time. Millie was our server and she was just fantastic, very funny, very attentive. Bradie and Mia served us on the bar and were very friendly, polite and professional. Highly recommend.

Big family meal for my son’s birthday, we all arrived in dribs and drabs and Mily was amazing with us. Food good and affordable!

We arranged with Carol to hold our father’s wake in the private function room in the Inn. Carol and the whole team were magnificent in ensuring that the entire event ran without any mishap. We stayed overnight at the Churchill Hotel next door which was clean, comfortable and we enjoyed an excellent breakfast the following morning. Kind regards Richard and Debs

Great pub with comfortable rooms, good food, a soft play area and amazingly kind staff. Mily looked after us with so much patience and good humour both at breakfast and at lunch, when 15 of us were celebrating our grandson's 2nd birthday. Three generations happy and well fed! Thank you!

Mily was amazing the best waitress of all time, deserves a pay rise could not have been any better, really good service, great communication and very up beat and cheerful.

Chicken was dry sausage not good on mini mixed grill apart from that it was ok don’t think l would eat their again

I was in the Churchill pub on Sunday 27th ,I've not had great experiences on previous visits and haven't been there for sometime, what a change ,the staff were great very efficient very attentive, I very rarely write reviews but felt this warranted my time ,WELL DONE ALL ,and thank you 😊

Food was not the best only one servicing the tables so a bit slow not her fault sat night and very few customers infact only 6 people by 9.30pm

From start to finish our experience was not good, had to wait to be served at the bar and then given dirty glasses which were pint glasses given for small bottles of J20 🤷🏻‍♂️ Then went to the men’s toilets only to be greeted by a really strong smell of urine only to notice a bucket under the urinal catching what was leaking ( surely this should of been closed to the public !!) Then being shown to our table we were told that someone was still on it and also this was in the children’s area so I said I am not sitting there so was then told there was nowhere else, but there was when I suggested moving some tables around in a different section to which I set about doing with the waitress… So after all this we sat, ordered and started to eat only to find my wife had the chicken skewers which were raw inside, we sent them back and were offered a replacement but obviously by this time she was put off eating, we had the price of this taken off the bill which was minimal in comparison to the night being ruined. I am looking to pursue further compensation and also strongly suggest a visit from food and safety standard as this is not exceptable!!!

Took our son to soft play and ended up eating. Staff were great, especially Henri and food was amazing.

Had a mediocre fish and chips . A chicken curry with rice and chips. That consists of a chicken burger chopped up with curry sauce pored over. It was an OK meal, but you could have done better at home .

Today myself and my family had the pleasure of eating at the churchill. Yes they had some issues with being short staffed,but the staff on duty gave us everything they had.yes we waited for food but when it arrived it came with a sorry for the wait and a smile. Food was fantastic. Well done to all staff that where on duty today,29.09.24 .you should be very proud of your self's. We had a party of around 10 sat down at 3pm and come out out 7. 4 hours of great atmosphere.

Soft drinks are a rip off. Small drinks are the same size as large and if you mention it they just put more ice in the glass. Staff don’t seem to care and think you should be grateful they are serving you.

We visited the Wavky Warehouse at the back of Churchill's Pub and Grill and was looked after by Henry, who not only looked after our food needs, but also entertained the children with Hide and Seek and other games. The food was great, quickly served, and reasonably priced. The overall experience was fantastic and a huge thanks to Henry, who made such a difference and worked so hard...the kids loved their time with you!

Came to the play area with my great niece. Staff member Henry was a great host, she played lots of games with the children that were there.

We come to the Soft play every week and absolutely love it! We have lunch each week too and like trying new things on the menu.

Disappointed. Visited yesterday after a very long drive to meet family not seen for time. We were seated in the child's section where there was a lot of noise. There was a child's birthday party in another room which I think was the reason for the very slow service. My family said they enjoyed the food, not sure if they were just being polite.. I didn't complain, but my mixed grill was awful. Steak was like a piece of leather as was the other meats except the sausage. I stopped on the way home to get some food from the garage. Lastly as we were leaving i noticed a nice quiet section that looked far better than where we were seated and it was empty. I wonder if we were put there because I said there was 1 child in the group. My daughter is 14 so perhaps I should have put her down as an adult.

Welcomed into the play area by Henry - lovely young person who made the effort to chat with our little ones and make sure that we had everything we needed when our meals arrived. Nothing too much trouble- thank you!

Henry made such a magical experience to our evening. They entertained the kids and made sure to attend to our tables and extra requests. I was abit disappointed in a male bar staff (at the main bar) that seemed to be frustrated with all the hard work Henry put into making wacky warehouse so much fun (when looking at the camera football at the bar.) We will 1000% come back with the kids even though it’s a 40 minute drive. Well worth it! ❤️

OMG! The experience we had this morning at the SEN session in Wacky was fantastic! The lady that was working there, her name was Henri. She was amazing with my daughter who is autistic. They were playing hide and seek in the play area for the last 10-15 minutes we were there and pretending to be zombies. Not heard my daughter laugh so much! 🥰 Thank you!

My wife and I had lunch 1230 on the 18th. My steak was tough and supposed to be medium, it was med-rare one end mostly rare other end and only warm. Skin on chips were ordered but small fatty warm chips served .My wife had fish and chips which was ok. The other problem for me was to sit opposite a woman with a dog on her lap and its nose near her plate whilst she ate. It had also been sitting on the seat next to her before being helped on to her lap. We will not go there again What about hygiene

After calling into the Churchill for a drink a few months back, we were very impressed with the food menu and friendly atmosphere, and despite food prices being a little over budget I decided to save up and treat my step mum for birthday dinner booked last night. Food come quick enough, but started bad, one of my children had a child’s steak and chips, this came out like a lump of rubber, and I struggled to cut it for him, he is autistic and has sensory issues and was very disappointed, he chocked on a piece of meat and had to drink to wash it down. I ordered a rare rump steak which again i could barely cut let alone chew, I sent the plate back barely touched and had lost my appetite completely. This set the tone for everyone else’s meals ( apart from the other kids who had a burger and kids Mac and cheese which they both enjoyed ) step mum barely ate any of hers and husband enjoyed his mixed grill until he also got to the steak which he couldn’t eat. Now, I’m not actually one to moan I get embarrassed and would rather just pretend I enjoyed it but I couldn’t, we were all so disappointed Nd a night we had. Even looking forward to for months felt ruined 😥 I will say though that staff and manager were extremely sorry, and went above and beyond to rectify the situation, the manager was disappointed by the standard of the food and I did truly believe that she was as disappointed as us. She knocked a considerable amount off of the bill and we would probably chance coming back again, just not for steak 🙈 I left 5 stars for service because front of house staff really were lovely as was the manager, atmosphere started off nice but unfortunately dampened by the food and I am awarding one star for food because 2 out of the 6 meals were cooked to perfection and 2 kids were happy we are just very disappointed with ours. I will say though don’t let our experience put you off, not sure what was going on i think we were jinxed, everyone else in the restaurant seemed pleased with there meals and some of the food coming out looked lovely especially the burgers, the staff were really lovely and still managed to smile at the “moany” table. I almost feel bad leaving the negative review on food because the manager made sure we were reimburst, I just think the chef needs to step it up and not drag this lovely lady down

Ordered 2 mains and 2 drinks for £20 amazing meals with big portions. Served by all front of house start making a friendly atmosphere and amazing service. Food came out wishing 5 min to an amazing standard and were even check on by Grace from wacky wearhouse. Overall great experience

My partner and I took 2 kids to the Wacky Warehouse. Staff member (one) was pleasant enough, but the customer service was shocking once we ordered food. Only us and one other family to be served. Despite us ordering first, theirs came out 15 minutes before ours. Weird. My partner and I both ordered large cokes with no ice. Staff switched it to diet coke without asking because they didn't have any regular, we only knew because they took it to the wrong table, spilt it and were trying to work out whose it actually was. Eventually they went to get us 2 medium cokes (from a bottle, with ice), apologising for the inconvenience but not refunding the price difference or offering extra to top them up. My double-patty burger was overcooked, and did not arrive with the advertised onion rings or coleslaw. Similarly, my partner's burger was also overcooked, the brioche bun was burnt and had no onion rings - but did have the coleslaw. Random. We also ordered tex-mex corn on the cob and a side of chips, When it didn't turn up, we were informed that the corn isn't offered anymore and should have been removed from the website. The chips were provided, apologies were offered and a batch of corn was provided anyway. Not sure if what arrived is what's normally offered or it was rushed out, but I think I'd rather not have had it. The kid's food was fine and arrived complete. The total food bill was over £70. We ate the very expensive, partially-delivered food we received with children's forks because there were no adult ones available. There were no napkins anywhere. 'Accessible' toilet in Wacky Warehouse is not accessible to a wheelchair, does not have any handles, and is unusably low. The one out in the pub was accessible but small, with a floor that was slippery and visibly wet, and we went in as a staff member went out so they were clearly aware and generally disgusting from a hygiene point of view. Overall, we don't recommend and won't be going back.

Staff are stressed to point of tears as new manager more interested in profit than staff or customer satisfaction. Food was mediocre probably due to to 1 chef and 3 other staff waiting tables and covering bar. Lots of uncleared tables. 1 guy left his phone number and told the manager to call him if he had the time to settle his bill as he was fed up with waiting. Despite being a large venue any customers after 6pm were all stuffed into one smaller section. Haven't been here for a while, won't be going back again.

Called in here with my great niece and her mum, and we had a very good meal. Our waiter was fantastic 👏. So obliging and helpful. The food was tasty and hot. Kids' choices were good and generous portions. Great place for kids, especially with the indoor play area.

As regulars here the staff are always very friendly, carol was our waitress this time, and lovely as always! Food was ok although the chips could of done with 2 mins longer to be crispier but that’s personal preference:)

I had a brilliant time at the Churchill in wootten bassett. I was in town and decided to go to this lovey spot. The service was great and all the staff seemed extremely friendly. I was served by Reuben who brought me out a fantastic set of fajitas, which I would definitely recommend. I will be revisiting when I’m back in wootten bassett!

Poorly organised breakfast three days in a row, where Sunday was worse than Saturday, and Monday as bad as Sunday. Continental buffet was permanently depleted and we had to specifically ask for everything we wanted. The wait staff were really friendly and tried to keep the customers happy

My wife and her best mate had a meal there today they got their at 1150 and ordered there drinks they were still waiting for the drinks to come at 12 45 plus they went back up to the bar 3 times to remind them about drinks there food was served before there drinks which was at 120 pm they had to ask again for drinks food was ok but lots on the menu they did not have any left 🤔 it’s was early time strange are they looking to closes down only looking at reviews the same happened 3 weeks ago sadly it’s a shame because it’s a nice place ps they did not even offer a reduction for the time they had to wait
