Deleted my 5 star review and replaced with this 2 star. A sign tonight at the front door saying “under new management”. Half the menu was out of stock ! Nearly everything we ordered as a table of 6 was either out of stock or partially out of stock? The worst experience we have had and we visit every week without fail for the past few years.

The beef flatbread my wife had didn't match the picture on the menu, tomatoes were missing from the plate, it just had lettuce and a dressing along with the beef. She didn't notice straight away otherwise would have mentioned it. My mixed grill was good value for money, and tasted very pleasant indeed.

Came a week or so ago they had a power cut not their fault went back today wish i hadnt food was disgusting 🤢🤢 wont be coming back

Lovely pub, lovely staff Stopped at the Greyfisher whilst in Salisbury with my son. Started off with a quick drink, and had a lovely wander across the bridge and over the river (stones throw from the front door), and down to the cathedral. The Greyfisher really is an ideal location! After a wander around town, we came back to the Greyfisher and had a bite to eat. My son is a very fussy eater, but found the chicken strips to be delicious. I had a beyond meat burger and it was perfect, having built up an appetite during our walk! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and will be back again soon!

Really lovely place and food didn’t disappoint,staff were friendly and attentive,would definitely come back again!

Wow I met the new manager today, this guy is really switched on the place looks and feels different already he has brought a new energy of enthusiasm to the staff. The food even tasted better he has already turned some frowns upside down. We were just snacking so we eat mainly starters as snacks (Oh boy Carolina Reaper Boneless Wings) whilst we had an impromptu work meeting. I'll be coming back and I'll be bringing some friends with me.

By far the best thing about our visit was the lovely service we had from a smiley and helpful Millie. She went out of her way to make our visit a pleasant one. One of our meals, the fish and chips, did not live up to expectation. The batter was soggy and the fish was tasteless. On the other hand, the gammon meal was excellent. The two meals deal offers exceptional value.

Came here for a quick business lunch after a recommendation from a friend. I ordered a gammon and egg. Food came out quick and hot! Staff was attentive and went above and beyond. Thank you guys and we will be back soon

A nice Green king pub offering excellent VFM on the meal deals. The staff were friendly and attentive, and ensured all was right. A venue I will visit again.

I ordered a mixed grill sadly no onion rings , when it arrived , the chips and peas were cold , the chicken on the hot plate was cold . My wife had a burger and again the chips were cold , we were offered a full refund but as we had eaten some of it decided to have a free dessert instead , I wanted an apple pie ,but that was sold out , so I had ice-cream My Wife had chocolate sundae ,which was ok . all in all not a good meal , will be going straight pass next time and finding else-where to eat

Didn’t even stop for food. It took ages for us to be seated. The table was sticky so was the floor and the bar. There was sauce on the menus. It’s also not wheel chair friendly the tables are too close together and very cramped. We were also harassed by another customer who made us feel very uncomfortable

Unfortunately the food was sub-par, the gravy was clearly microwaved with a skin film over the top, chips were undercooked and cold, price was OK, bur standard of food was not acceptable, won't be eating here again.

Stopped off too watch the Euros football. The coffee unfortunely was pretty poor.

We were invited back to the Greyfisher for a meal under the new management as the last time we visited (prior to their arrival), we were hugely disappointed. This time however, we were chuffed with our experience overall. The food was absolutely delicious; both the taste and quality were improved ten fold as was the presentation. We were pleased to see the place was far busier than our last visit but despite this, the service was excellent and efficient. We will gladly be returning! (Will be sure to take photos next time)

Very disappointed in the service. Very slow. Not shown to our table. Tables not cleaned before we sat down . Long wait for food. Table not cleared of dirty dishes.

Had a meal here this week! Absolutely lovely food. No complaints at all. Will be coming here again when passing by sailsburys. Team was so accommodating to my disabled nanna. Thanks guys.

Great location. Airy and spacious inside. Lovely staff and a wide ranging menu to suit all the family. Food served quickly and really tasty. Definitely going back and recommending to others.

The food was pleasant enough, especially considering the bargain price tag. It arrived nice and quick, which was a bonus because we were famished. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the place had a nice ambience.

The Greyfisher sits in a beautiful area of Salisbury however it does back on to a busy road. Ample parking and plenty of room to sit inside and out. A great atmosphere and friendly staff. The food is decent and a good temperature. A good selection of drinks and plenty of entertainment.

Called in on 7/6/24 for lunch absolutely disgusting my wife had the Lasagne which looked like it had been NUKED in a microwave and was completely inedible l had the large Mixed grill which looks extremely good value on paper but alas it was not the peas were as hard as bullets and tasted awful as for the steak it would have made a wonderful sole for someone’s shoe our advice is avoid like the PLAGUE

When I first visited the Greyfisher I found my steak was chewy although it was cooked perfectly. Too many onions. Chips were cold and peas were hard. Young lady who served me was very polite and pleasant. Took a chance and visited a second time but sadly was again very disappointed with the food. Had the mixed grill with 15 chips. Beef was chewy, gammon was very salty and chicken was tasteless. Sausage was rock hard and peas were cold. Again far too many onions. Sorry but I won't be eating here again. And for a pub that advertises "Sunday Roasts Served All Day" it should get it's stock control correct. We visited around 3pm and there were NO roast dinners left. Sticky tables and menus.

We have been to the Greyfisher a few times over the last few months and found it has changed for the better. I found the staff very helpful and the food 🥑 one hundred percent improved so very well done to management and staff.

Just tried the food here again, absolutely fantastic, such an improvement, had the mixed grill, came out piping hot, steak cooked to perfection, couldn't fault it. Lasagne was lovely and even had room for the dessert of sticky toffee cheesecake. Great customer service as well. Thank you

Lovely place to meet up with family.

Reasonable prices for food and drink. Never too busy when we've visited, which is several times a year. Great food stop off A36 - Google maps takes you to rear entrance which isn't great. Good balance of diners and socialising locals with good layout.

First time visit. Sticky tables and menus. Ordered food waited 30 minutes for it to arrive while others who sat down after us were eating. My meal was average but my stepdad very much enjoyed his mixed grill. Zero table service as our empty plates were not cleared away. Left feeling disappointed as the prices were high for what was on offer. Will be heading back to Weather spoons for cheap grub.

It was rather busy on arrival at 1300, we were informed that the food order may take up to 45 minutes to arrive due to numbers. The food actually was quicker and of a very high standard, as was the service.

Slow service this time,they had forgotten to put cheese and bacon on my burger,and had not whipped cream for the pudding,but also didn't put in the mini Mars bar in it aswell....nevermind

AVOID AVOID AVOID I came here with my family for mothers day left feeling very disappointed. Staff weren't very clued up on what was available. My son chicken was still PINK leaving him not able to continue his meal,items of food were missing from our order, got 2 of our orders wrong, my veg on my roast dinner was very gritty, the roast potatoes if that's what you want to call them were soft and wrinkly and I've been left with an very upset stomach. My sister wasn't allowed to use her blue light card for discount even though it states all day everyday. Overall the worst place I've ever been I shall not be returning at all.

Food pub ..exactly what you want. Cheap and good food !

I had been going to The Greyfisher for over 4 years where it changed hands numerous times. I then had a terrible experience where I was verbally and physically abused before being forcefully evicted. The altercation happened because I lost my reading glasses. Also I am a disabled senior citizen but the person who forcefully evicted me breached Health and Safety Law.

Another wonderful business lunch. This time I had the hunters chicken which was lovely. I even had a choc fudge cake dessert yummy! Will definitely be back again when here on business.

Heard it was under new management so gave it another go! I must say I can see a difference already. Seems like changes are in place & moving in the right direction…… I will definitely return as food was fab & staff were friendly too. Keep doing what your doing as there’s already a huge improvement 👏🏻

Good family pub come restaurant. Being a Greene King pub it has low priced beers as well as more expensive and tasteful guest beers and lagers. Food is a good selection of American diner burgers and chicken with traditional british roasts. Can get busy. Sometimes let down by staff shortages but they always do their best and are both cheerful and helpful. Recent update: New tenants and updated menu with a £12.99 meal deal for 2 Mon-Fri! Good pies and great fish and chips and still great service

Visiting this pub yesterday evening, it's been a while since I've been and there seems to have been a lot of changes in staff. The girl bringing out food was doing her best, but they seemed to be severely understaffed and the girl behind the bar(I believe she was the manager on shift) couldn't even bring her self to be polite when serving customers. I appreciate staffing issues but I think in hospitality, customer service should be a priority. She was rude, and I didn't see a smile grace her face all evening, and seemed to be preoccupied with her phone an awful lot the time. I wont be returning.

We was in the area due to family reason and needed to find somewhere to eat which normally is easy but I had our dog with us. I gave Greyfisher a call and the lady was very helpful and said yes dogs can come in, bonus. We turned up to a nice warm friendly pub, we found a table and went through the menu. Lots to choose from, me and 2 children were eating and even the children's menu had lots of offer and all at a reasonable price. Easy to order and the staff we lovely and very welcoming. We was informed that a item was no longer available, this wasn't a problem as there was lots of other choices. Now I have to say, what we paid I wasn't expecting anything great, well wasn't I wrong. The food was cooked perfectly, tasted delicious even my fussy child ate his and we all enjoyed our meals. The staff were great, checked all was OK but then left us to eat, there was always someone close by. The pub was a lovely place, very busy but you didn't feel crowded and had a wonderful atmosphere. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely be going back, we may actually just take a trip back. So we can have a family meal at a reasonable price, in a warm welcoming place. Me and my wife went here for Valentines day, and our meals were excellent! I had the fish and chips, and I can honestly say that it may have been the best I've had... and I have fish and chips wherever we go. I've paid £28 for fish and chips in a restaurant before, and this was better, and it was two meals for £12.99!

Didn't plan to go here but was glad I did. Very friendly staff and the food lived up to my expectations. Reasonably priced food with a good selection available, including vegetarian and also a good atmosphere. Easy access and parking and will definitely call in again if i'm in the area.

Popped in for lunch, was welcomed warmly with our little dog. Food was excellent and staff friendly.

Have just visited for a birthday meal, for my daughter. There was two adults and two older children who dined today. The service was excellent and we were running late, because of traffic. But I rang and they were fine with us being later than our booked time. I cannot fault them enough for looking after us and as it was a birthday treat, they brought my daughter’s pudding out, with a candle in. Cost was just over £100, but that was with starters, mains, puddings and drinks on top. And the portion sizes were huge!! Will definitely be visiting again, thank you guys 😁

This evening stopped here on way home for food Have eaten here in the past and the food was lovely. Tonight this was not the case the food was terrible We had ordered two steaks . My chips came cold and my steak was very chewy and just horrible The other steak was just full of gristle. Also they had missed the grilled tomatoes that were advertised with the meal . Staff were very apologetic and have given fun refund. But sadly I will not be returning for food

Unfortunately all the chips and onion rings were not just cold but completely soft so they had been cooker a long time before going on the plate.shame as may of been nice if they cooked the chips to order.... Update they don't reply to the email they ask you to contact

We come here every week and have always been delighted with everything! The food is great and very reasonably priced. The staff are lovely, always welcoming and friendly. The wine is fabulous, and again a great price. Lovely way to spend an evening!

We recently had our works Christmas get together and meal here. We all had a great time - the service were very good, as was the food. I have'nt been in The Greyfisher for 24 years and was pleasantly suprised with the whole experience .

Had our Christmas party at the Greyfisher on Saturday 2nd December, great service - the staff made us feel very welcome, great value for money food & topped off by loads of Christmas cheer in the form of shots & bombs - massive thank you to Duane & all the staff from the guys at Jewson xx

My son is in Salisbury hospital and we visit this pub a few times a week. We have found all staff very welcoming and friendly. Food is freshly cooked to order great pub highly recommended
